Dennis Prager Show - You're More Likely to Win Slots, than Die of Covid-19⎜The Dennis Prager Radio Show Aired: 2020-05-07 Duration: 04:56 === Felt Like Sneaking In (04:56) === [00:00:00] Speakeasy hair studio. [00:00:03] Is that great? [00:00:06] You know, like the places that were open during Prohibition. [00:00:10] Now it's a hair studio. [00:00:12] I went for a haircut in an underground hair salon. [00:00:18] Felt like I was sneaking into an anti-Soviet place. [00:00:28] California. [00:00:30] The West Coast has so few deaths. [00:00:34] And the human misery caused by the lockdown, which has no end in sight. [00:00:41] July 6th in Oregon. [00:00:44] But listen to what she wrote, because this is almost all you need to know. [00:00:51] Let's see. [00:00:53] Since March 19th, I've had only a handful of customers. [00:00:59] Overwhelmingly, these brave customers are conservative. [00:01:03] Thanks for everything you do. [00:01:08] Huh. [00:01:09] Now why would that be? [00:01:11] Do liberals and leftists' hair not grow as fast as conservatives' hair? [00:01:17] Je le doute. [00:01:18] I doubt it. [00:01:23] This is the I want to be safe crowd. [00:01:27] That is not my crowd. [00:01:33] My crowd wants to live fully. [00:01:39] That's right. [00:01:40] About 500 of you came with me to Israel. [00:01:43] But they're always the folks, including some conservatives, who only will go when it's safe. [00:01:49] So they never went. [00:01:51] But it's always been safe. [00:01:55] I've never asked. [00:01:56] You know when I went to Israel? [00:01:57] In fact, you could see it on the internet. [00:01:59] I made a documentary, believe it or not. [00:02:02] During the Intifada, when Jerusalem was as empty as your city is today, Alan Estrin and I went, we made a documentary, Israel in a Time of Terror. [00:02:20] Then it was really dangerous. [00:02:22] Buses were being blown up, restaurants were being blown up. [00:02:25] I'm not a hero. [00:02:27] I just, I simply rationally assess. [00:02:30] The likelihood of being blown up is extremely small. [00:02:36] The proof that I rationally decide what to do is I don't gamble because I know rationally the chances of my coming out ahead are small. [00:02:47] Now, I don't mind if people gamble because it's fun. [00:02:50] I have no problem with that at all. [00:02:53] I don't happen to find it fun, so I don't do it. [00:02:56] But if I did, I would do it. [00:02:58] So I'd lose a couple of hundred dollars, and it would be equivalent to a night out of entertainment. [00:03:06] Totally get it. [00:03:09] But gambling, to any great degree, the reason I don't is because the odds are overwhelmingly against me. [00:03:20] The odds are overwhelmingly. [00:03:22] You are more likely to win at a slot machine than die of COVID-19 if you are not sick and you are under 80. Okay? [00:03:36] You hear me? [00:03:38] You are more likely to win at the slot machine. [00:03:41] So if you think that you're at risk of dying from this virus, you should definitely go to Vegas. [00:03:50] They're opening up. [00:03:51] and go to a slot machine because you obviously believe that you will somehow, little tiny odds will go in your favor or against you, as the case may be. [00:04:04] All of this reinforces my conservatism and my religiosity. [00:04:17] Religious Christians and Jews. [00:04:20] Are the most organized opponents of the lockdown. [00:04:27] For which they get great contempt from the secular left. [00:04:31] Completely understandable. [00:04:32] That is correct. [00:04:33] It's mutual contempt. [00:04:35] History will record who made a greater contribution to our country and to the West. [00:04:45] 1-8 Prager 776. Is the number here fascinating? [00:04:52] Who goes for a haircut at this woman's place? [00:04:55] Why do you think that is?
