Dennis Prager Show - Would You Rather be in USA or Sweden?⎜The Dennis Prager Radio Show Aired: 2020-05-04 Duration: 07:40 === Millions Ceased to Think Rationally (05:47) === [00:00:00] So I list all the things that are being done to suppress in an unprecedented way Americans' freedom. [00:00:07] And this anti-Trump person believes I only did that because I'm whipping up support for the failed President Donald Trump. [00:00:17] So in other words, we're really not having a lockdown that I should object to or point out. [00:00:26] So here, this is the best. [00:00:29] His diehard supporters are far more likely to invoke a police state against immigrants, feminists, gays, and other minorities who don't fit into their exalted view of America. [00:00:40] He has had three years to invoke a police state against immigrants, feminists, and gays. [00:00:50] You know, I'll tell you what is scary. [00:00:53] I told you, I'm more scared of these people than of the virus. [00:00:56] The virus will pass. [00:00:59] But I'm not sure that leftism will. [00:01:04] It perverts not only the soul and the conscience, it perverts the ability to think. [00:01:12] The president would create a police state against immigrants, gays, and feminists? [00:01:19] But why hasn't he done anything like that? [00:01:23] By the way, has he ever even mentioned gay marriage, the president? [00:01:27] I'll bet he doesn't even oppose it. [00:01:29] I think the president cares about gays as much as I care about the pretzel industry. [00:01:35] Telling you, a lot of you know what I'm talking about because you have a relative or a friend who has ceased the ability, truly ceased the ability to dialogue or to think in truly ceased the ability to dialogue or to think in any way rationally. [00:01:58] That's why those letters are important. [00:02:00] An 89-year-old, can I have the award he sent me? [00:02:03] An 89-year-old listener who fought in Korea is so annoyed with me. [00:02:10] He actually designed an award, which I printed out. [00:02:14] Ten dumbasses. [00:02:17] Dennis Prager. [00:02:19] For your reprehensible performance, you are hereby awarded the ten dumbasses. [00:02:25] This qualifies you for the ignominy of the citizens of the United States with this ignoble prize for your DA, back to that word, stupidity in a national pandemic. [00:02:42] It certifies your appalling lack of understanding of the rules of pandemic mitigation. [00:02:50] With a virus easily capable of infecting 20 or 50 or 100 million Americans, if not for orders of mass lockdown. [00:03:00] Okay. [00:03:02] That's a good one. [00:03:03] Is it an annual or a lifetime achievement? [00:03:06] That's a great question. [00:03:08] I'm putting this up in my house. [00:03:10] Here it is, if anybody's watching. [00:03:13] Of course I'm framing it. [00:03:15] This is the stuff that makes me tick. [00:03:17] I love this stuff. [00:03:19] So I thanked him for his service in Korea. [00:03:23] What else am I going to do? [00:03:28] So the... [00:03:29] What did he say? [00:03:31] Infect 100 million Americans. [00:03:34] Actually, if it infected 100 million Americans, it would probably save the country. [00:03:41] Because then you would have herd immunity. [00:03:47] This is mind-boggling. [00:03:50] The World Health Organization lauded Sweden as a model for battling the coronavirus. [00:03:57] This is astonishing. [00:03:58] Dr. Mike Ryan. [00:03:59] What? [00:04:00] Mike Ryan? [00:04:01] I know who he is. [00:04:03] I think he's Canadian. [00:04:05] He's Canadian or Australian. [00:04:07] Oh, the WHO's top. [00:04:10] I mean, this guy has been in like in the lead of hysteria. [00:04:15] Said Wednesday, there are lessons to be learned from the Scandinavian nation. [00:04:20] I think there is a perception out that Sweden has not put in control measures and just has allowed the disease to spread. [00:04:27] Nothing can be further from the truth. [00:04:30] Instead of lockdowns, the country has put in place a very strong public policy around social distancing, around caring and protecting people in long-term care facilities. [00:04:40] What it has done differently is it has very much relied on its relationship with its citizenry and the ability and willingness of its citizens to implement self-distancing and self-regulate. [00:04:53] That's not true, actually. [00:04:55] I mean, look at the pictures of people in Stockholm. [00:04:57] I mean, they're sitting without masks, congregated like in normal times. [00:05:00] But, I mean, just the fact that he didn't condemn Sweden. [00:05:07] You know, my good friend Hugh Hewitt disagrees with me on this, which is great, because we don't all agree on these matters. [00:05:17] Well, we being conservative, our conservative talk show hosts, or even those who work for the Salem Radio Network. [00:05:23] But I did ask him on Seb Gorka's show on Wednesday. [00:05:28] So if there's a second wave, would you rather be in the United States or Sweden? === Saying Screw You (02:08) === [00:05:33] Because I know he's an honest man. [00:05:35] I knew I'd get an honest answer. [00:05:37] I didn't know what the answer would be. [00:05:38] But he said Sweden. [00:05:40] Wow. [00:05:48] 1-8 Prager 776. Please get out of your house. [00:05:53] It's May 1st. [00:05:57] Newsom is a thug in power. [00:06:01] That's all he is. [00:06:01] He's a little man with a lot of power. [00:06:04] They're the most dangerous. [00:06:08] His pontificating and his condescension to the people of California, like, you know, some pope of the state. [00:06:19] It's just time to say, screw you. [00:06:22] I'm sorry. [00:06:24] I don't know how else to put it. [00:06:28] I don't like tyrants. [00:06:30] Okay? [00:06:31] He's a tyrant. [00:06:32] By the way, we must remove, unfortunately, because they have ruined it, we have to remove the power of executives to declare states of emergency like this. [00:06:44] I'm sorry. [00:06:48] The utter and total abuse of power on the part of Democrats and a handful of Republicans, mostly Democrats, is something that the nation must confront. [00:07:03] You know, I can't get out of my mind another fool at the New York Times, which is almost redundant, I'm sorry to say. [00:07:14] Egan. [00:07:15] What is his first name? [00:07:16] Timothy? [00:07:17] That Republicans are the party of death. [00:07:19] You know, you may say, why do you call these people names? [00:07:22] Do you know what we're called? [00:07:23] We're called murderers. [00:07:27] Republicans are the party of death, writes Timothy Egan, a New York Times columnist. [00:07:34] Well, I will read to you what the policies that Timothy Egan supports have done to the world.
