Dennis Prager Show - The Self-Centered NY Media⎜The Dennis Prager Radio Show Aired: 2020-04-17 Duration: 08:04 === New York's Shallow Authoritarians (05:54) === [00:00:00] These people are as interested in what happens in Iowa as you folks are on what happens on Neptune. [00:00:08] And so, believing that they are the center of the world, as New Yorkers do. [00:00:14] I grew up there, went to graduate and undergraduate school there. [00:00:20] They think this is the universe. [00:00:25] So, who the hell are you, Governor of South Dakota? [00:00:29] To enable your people to live a somewhat normal life and make a living when we in New York are suffering. [00:00:38] Get it? [00:00:39] That's what it is. [00:00:42] It is not conceivable New York City would have shut down if half the deaths of the country were in Montana. [00:00:54] Is that correct, ladies and gentlemen? [00:00:59] That's what I mean by the shallow media. [00:01:01] They don't ask anything of intelligence. [00:01:04] They're there simply to smear the president. [00:01:07] That is their raison d'etre. [00:01:09] That is it. [00:01:10] There is no other purpose to the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, etc. [00:01:16] That is their purpose. [00:01:17] They acknowledged it. [00:01:18] Remember the New York Times? [00:01:20] Well, CNN, this is all we're here. [00:01:22] We're just here to cover Trump and make sure he's not reelected. [00:01:27] 35,000 deaths in the U.S., almost 17,000 of them in New York. [00:01:40] Thank you. [00:01:41] That means New York City. [00:01:44] So half the country. [00:01:47] Half the country's death. [00:01:49] Then you add New Jersey. [00:01:51] There's another 3,500. [00:01:53] It's more than half the country. [00:01:58] Anyway, it's almost pointless to add anything else because it's all New York. [00:02:04] You go from 16,736 New York to 3,500 New Jersey, 2,093 Michigan. [00:02:16] I mean, the numbers become very small relative to the population of the country. [00:02:23] Question. [00:02:26] Sean, would you please play the moronic Glendale recording that they sent to people? [00:02:34] That's where we broadcast. [00:02:36] The city has been taken over by shallow authoritarians. [00:02:40] I'm sorry to say, because I really enjoy it here. [00:02:44] It's worse than Los Angeles. [00:02:45] You do not have to wear a mask in Los Angeles when you're outside and not in a crowd. [00:02:52] But here you do. [00:02:54] $1,000 fine. [00:02:58] Okay, so that was my favorite part. [00:03:05] Walking your pet. [00:03:06] Because you may infect your pet. [00:03:09] It's a beautiful thing when you think about it. [00:03:12] Glendale's special. [00:03:13] See, it's an amazing... [00:03:15] I'll bet you there are one or two people... [00:03:16] I don't know who runs Glendale. [00:03:18] I have no idea. [00:03:19] Nobody in Glendale knows. [00:03:22] But some fanatic, some crackpot, someone who has fallen for this notion, better safe than sorry is the new motto of the United States, has just gone overboard. [00:03:36] Also, they get an erotic thrill of controlling others' lives. [00:03:40] I have no doubt about it. [00:03:42] It gives them the same rush. [00:03:46] That the act of intimacy does the endorphins that are produced and controlling other people is awesome You go home you feel good about yourself. [00:03:56] You're protecting your citizens. [00:03:58] You have power over people It's a rush Even some Republicans on occasion feel that but that is universal to the Democrats They have threatened a $1,000 fine. [00:04:15] I will take the $1,000 fine when I walk outside. [00:04:18] I will take the fine and then go to court. [00:04:22] And hopefully it will become a national story. [00:04:25] I have no desire for a national story, but I do have a desire to protect liberty. [00:04:30] You are not going to tell me to wear a mask under stupid circumstances because you think you have the power to. [00:04:39] Okay? [00:04:41] So that's my contempt. [00:04:44] I look forward to getting the $1,000 fine. [00:04:51] Somebody's got to fight, folks. [00:04:54] That's my nature, as I've said to you. [00:04:56] Good people are divided among three groups. [00:04:59] Remember, everything I've said has come home to roost. [00:05:04] Those who fight, those who help the fighters, and those who do nothing. [00:05:07] And the greatest number do nothing. [00:05:09] That's of good people. [00:05:15] Nothing is surprising to me. [00:05:18] Nothing. [00:05:21] Unfortunately, I might add. [00:05:25] I'm reading here in the American... [00:05:28] What is it? [00:05:29] The American Federal? [00:05:30] American Greatness and the Federal. [00:05:31] Which one is on the restaurants that you just sent me? [00:05:37] Federal. === Saving Grace (02:24) === [00:05:39] The danger of vast numbers of restaurants closing. [00:05:44] You know, Sweden didn't close down. [00:05:46] People have been at restaurants the whole time. [00:05:48] Scientists have gone berserk against Sweden. [00:05:52] Because scientists believe that they're gods. [00:05:55] That's why the Talmud has a great line, the best of the doctors goes to hell. [00:06:01] I very rarely cite the Hebrew. [00:06:06] It's of no use to the vast majority of you, but I'm doing it now because I think you need to know I didn't make it up. [00:06:17] Yes, they had more wisdom 2,000 years ago. [00:06:20] Less knowledge, but more wisdom. [00:06:23] Because people in the sciences think they're gods. [00:06:27] Not all. [00:06:28] There are some wonderful people in the sciences. [00:06:32] And there are a lot of narcissists. [00:06:35] It's very easy to think you're God when you're involved in health. [00:06:42] You know, you have life and death. [00:06:45] How many of us deal with life and death every day? [00:06:48] They're very angry at Sweden. [00:06:56] you You didn't listen to scientists? [00:07:00] I guess, you know what? [00:07:02] I guess Sweden is deniers. [00:07:06] Well, never been a fan of Sweden. [00:07:10] They were neutral in World War II, so my unhappiness with Sweden goes back a long time. [00:07:19] They were the leaders in attacking the U.S. over Vietnam. [00:07:25] And a whole host of issues. [00:07:30] But now, I gotta say... [00:07:33] You never know where your saving grace, as it will, will come from. [00:07:43] Another psalm. [00:07:45] Where will my saving? [00:07:48] Not in Savior in the sense of the Christian concept of Savior, but who's going to save me? [00:07:56] And it turns out, Sweden. [00:08:02] The Swedes believe that they have herd immunity.
