Dennis Prager Show - Isolation has Consequences Aired: 2020-04-01 Duration: 06:42 === Gut-Wrenching Scenes (06:14) === [00:00:00] There are a lot of questions. [00:00:03] Nobody knows for sure. [00:00:06] But we acted like we did know for sure. [00:00:11] Two million would die if we didn't destroy the economy and a lot of personal lives. [00:00:20] You see, I don't know why you can't be torn by both. [00:00:29] Every one of us who believes that we might, who asks questions, we acknowledge the tragedy of Italy or New York. [00:00:44] I mean, the scenes are gut-wrenching. [00:00:49] Heart-rending, gut-wrenching, in case you want to know the correct phrase. [00:00:57] That's true. [00:00:58] At the same time, it is gut-wrenching and heart-wrenching what is happening to people. [00:01:08] That's also true. [00:01:15] What this is doing. [00:01:18] See, we will never know the number of people who died as a result of the isolation. [00:01:30] Right? [00:01:31] We will never know. [00:01:33] Or how many years off people's lives that it took. [00:01:37] How many more opioid addiction. [00:01:40] How much more alcohol addiction. [00:01:44] How much heart failure because of anxiety and loneliness. [00:01:50] I don't know if we'll have those figures. [00:01:52] We have the figures of everyone who has died from this. [00:01:58] Do you know anyone who has, do you know personally, like even a cousin of a friend or something, do you know anyone who's died? [00:02:04] Because my son does. [00:02:06] My son in Florida told me three people that he knew of. [00:02:10] It really, I mean, obviously that hits home. [00:02:12] I want you to know, you know, I'm not remote in that way. [00:02:17] I'm not remote in any way. [00:02:23] I'm also troubled by the $2 trillion. [00:02:27] What if the dollar isn't worth paper? [00:02:31] Just the beginning. [00:02:32] We're a long way from the end of that. [00:02:34] We're a long way from the end of that, too, you're saying? [00:02:37] Oh, yeah. [00:02:37] Two trillion. [00:02:38] Yeah. [00:02:38] Two trillion. [00:02:39] We're not going to end at two trillion. [00:02:41] You know, what does it do? [00:02:43] It automatically diminishes everyone's savings. [00:02:46] If everything were the same, the hard-earned dollar is not a hard-earned dollar anymore. [00:02:56] And who owns a lot of those trillions? [00:02:58] Doesn't China? [00:03:01] China wishes us ill. [00:03:07] The Greens may get their dream because the American oil companies are being hit terribly with imports of cheaper Saudi. [00:03:17] It's funny that the Saudis would want to hurt the U.S. in this. [00:03:20] They've been allies of the U.S. Do you have any thoughts on that? [00:03:28] Can we get Andy Puzder? [00:03:30] I'd like to talk to him about the economy of all of this. [00:03:35] Meanwhile, you folks have to take care of yourselves. [00:03:38] For some reason, the people who run this building where our radio studio have not turned on the air conditioning. [00:03:48] So that truly may force me to broadcast from home. [00:03:54] It's a sauna-like condition here. [00:03:59] Maybe they don't want to pay the upkeep of the building because there are so few tenants that are using the building now. [00:04:07] I am blessed in my situation, I admit it. [00:04:18] I will be, by the way. [00:04:19] I think... [00:04:22] As truly as a service, I will be conducting a Passover Seder next week. [00:04:33] Virtual, yes, virtual. [00:04:36] It'll just be me and you. [00:04:37] It's me and you, the viewer. [00:04:42] Explain, go through some of the prayers, explain the rituals, explain the exodus, explain the Haggadah. [00:04:51] So, send me an email, just as people have done for the services that I have put on the internet. [00:05:04] A lot of people have asked that I do it, and my aunt, who is an Orthodox Jew, they don't use electricity on the Holy Days or the Sabbath, but she will be tuning in. [00:05:21] She needs that on that night. [00:05:27] It's, to say the least, it is a disruptive experience. [00:05:33] And that is saying the least. [00:05:38] Well, what's with you, my friends? [00:05:40] I like talking to you during this time. [00:05:45] Which is today is April 1st, so we have another 29 days another four weeks of this Maybe you say Well, they will be voices no matter what the numbers I mean unless the number is zero or very close to zero if they will be voices to continue it Alright, my friends. === 35 Years Of Music (00:25) === [00:06:17] This is the situation, and I am going to make good on my musical idea to play for you something beautiful and talk to you a little about it. [00:06:35] I've been wanting to do this for 35 years. [00:06:38] The circumstances allow for it today.
