Dennis Prager Show - Biden is Gutless and Panic-Struck Aired: 2020-03-12 Duration: 06:01 === Surprise In Israel (05:46) === [00:00:01] I wouldn't go into any... [00:00:02] This is a real leader, folks. [00:00:04] That's what you want. [00:00:05] Gutless, panic-struck guy named Joe Biden. [00:00:09] I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now. [00:00:11] That is correct. [00:00:11] You certainly wouldn't. [00:00:13] I thought it was a joke when he said it. [00:00:15] I remember I was headed to the airport right after that, right after he said it. [00:00:24] The weakness of the West today is mind-boggling to me. [00:00:28] Just mind-boggling. [00:00:32] You know, I gotta tell you, I'm quite surprised at Israel. [00:00:36] Not allowing anybody into the country for two weeks, or you come in, you go quarantine for two weeks. [00:00:43] I must admit, I did not expect this from Netanyahu. [00:00:51] And I would love to know what Israelis think about it. [00:00:56] But it shows you the power of the media. [00:00:59] The media control the world. [00:01:01] Politicians are puppets. [00:01:04] They are clay in the hands of the media. [00:01:08] The media shape people's perceptions of life. [00:01:14] They tell you there's a blizzard outside. [00:01:17] You remember when I was in New York? [00:01:19] I wonder how many of you remember that. [00:01:21] Two years ago, I was to give a speech in New York City. [00:01:24] On the way, flying from LA to New York, on the plane, because I was on the internet, I got an email, your speech is cancelled, sorry. [00:01:36] I'm flying to New York to a cancelled speech, because there was a snowstorm. [00:01:42] I arrive in New York City, and yes, there's snow, that's correct, there's snow on the ground. [00:01:50] I grew up in New York City. [00:01:52] There was snow on the ground every winter. [00:01:54] Nothing happened. [00:01:55] People put chains on their tires or bought snow tires or took the subway, and it didn't mean a thing. [00:02:03] I was about to say a damn thing. [00:02:05] I won't say it. [00:02:06] It didn't mean a thing. [00:02:09] Today, so they canceled the speech. [00:02:13] I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now. [00:02:15] They canceled the speech. [00:02:19] They didn't say... [00:02:20] They should have said nothing if people did not want to drive to my speech. [00:02:25] It's a free country. [00:02:27] Well, it's less free than it was when I was a kid, but it's still relatively free. [00:02:32] You can either drive or take an Uber or take a bus or take a subway and walk to the speech, whatever you want to do. [00:02:40] They did not allow this option to people. [00:02:42] My speech was canceled. [00:02:45] I was stuck in New York for three days for no reason. [00:02:49] How many of you have ever been in a city for no reason? [00:02:51] It's a very rare thing in most people's lives. [00:02:54] Think about it. [00:02:55] Most of you have never been somewhere for no reason. [00:03:00] I've had that twice. [00:03:01] Both ironically happened in New York. [00:03:04] Two canceled speeches in New York, and I was there for no reason. [00:03:07] Oh, no, no, no, wasn't. [00:03:08] The first time. [00:03:10] I remember the first time. [00:03:12] The first time. [00:03:14] My, the woman who played the role that the living martyr now plays in my life, a wonderful, wonderful woman, who is now in the U.S. Navy, and she, anyway, she worked for me for years, and I went to New York because she told me I had a speech in New York. [00:03:33] While I was walking on a street in Manhattan, I remember it vividly, I got a text, no, no, it's pre-texting, I got a beep. [00:03:44] Got a beep from her. [00:03:46] And Carrier Pigeon, that was the earlier person before her. [00:03:51] And the message was, I'll never forget it. [00:03:56] Are you ready? [00:03:57] It's next week. [00:04:00] That was the message. [00:04:03] And I thought, it can't mean what I think it means. [00:04:07] Exactly. [00:04:08] But it did mean what I thought it meant. [00:04:12] I was in New York. [00:04:13] The wrong week. [00:04:15] So I've had two New York experiences of being there for no reason. [00:04:18] Anyway, people panic. [00:04:21] And the media, of course, lead people by the nose. [00:04:25] Oh, blizzard! [00:04:27] Oh, snowstorm! [00:04:27] I wrote about this in my book of essays, Think a Second Time. [00:04:32] About that people trust the media more than their own eyes. [00:04:38] You gonna believe me or your lying eyes? [00:04:40] Remember that famous scene where the guy's caught in bed with another woman? [00:04:45] Right? [00:04:46] Oh, nothing happened. [00:04:47] You're going to believe me or your lying eyes? [00:04:49] Okay. [00:04:56] I'm getting a message here now. [00:04:57] No young people will know what you're talking about when I say beeped. [00:05:04] All right, young people. [00:05:06] Prior to texting, you would wear a little thing on your belt, or I guess keep in your purse if you didn't have a belt, and a message would come in. [00:05:19] You'd get a beep. [00:05:20] It's called a beeper, because it gave you beeps. [00:05:23] And then you'd press a button, and some message would come up, call so-and-so, or some little message. [00:05:31] Pager. [00:05:31] Yeah, that's right. [00:05:32] Pager. === But If I Turn Out Right (00:28) === [00:05:33] Correct. [00:05:34] Thank you. [00:05:35] Thank you. [00:05:36] All right, now that you all know, we're back. [00:05:42] I find the reaction to the virus more depressing than the virus. [00:05:52] But if I turn out right, nobody will pay a price. [00:05:57] That's the amazing thing. [00:05:59] Not the media, not the politicians.
