Dennis Prager Show - Should I Travel During Corona Virus Scare? Aired: 2020-03-03 Duration: 03:21 === Riding on the Edge (03:20) === [00:00:00] Brian in Los Angeles. [00:00:01] Hi. [00:00:03] Dennis, this is Brian. [00:00:05] We met a few weeks ago. [00:00:07] You had lunch at my in-laws house. [00:00:10] Hi again. [00:00:11] Oh, yes, I remember. [00:00:12] Yeah, of course. [00:00:13] Good to hear from you. [00:00:14] How are you? [00:00:15] Well, I don't have the coronavirus. [00:00:20] Oh, good. [00:00:21] Neither do I. Well, quick question for you. [00:00:23] We have a trip planned to Mexico leaving Friday. [00:00:27] And my wife is worried about the coronavirus. [00:00:32] What's your take on leaving the country, and I guess more important than going through the international terminal at LAX? I have a speech in Budapest in a few weeks, and I intend to go. [00:00:47] It never occurs. [00:00:48] It doesn't even occur to me not to go. [00:00:49] It's the numbers are so small. [00:00:57] It's not and it's not like you, you know, you get it and you're dead. [00:01:01] You get it, you may not know it. [00:01:03] You get it, you may have flu symptoms. [00:01:05] You get it, you may be treated. [00:01:08] But the overwhelming odds are even if you get it, and the odds are you won't get it, that you will be okay. [00:01:16] And see, what I'm already seeing is the cure is worse than the disease at this point. [00:01:23] The closing down of the economies of countries at this time will hurt so many more people than the disease, as it appears now. [00:01:33] I mean, obviously, I would go on the trip, for whatever it's worth. [00:01:40] But this is my attitude in life. [00:01:43] I don't motorcycle over the Grand Canyon. [00:01:48] But I do believe that you live life fully. [00:01:51] It's like, I'll give you a good example you should give to your wife. [00:01:55] And I respect her worry. [00:01:59] And that is this. [00:02:00] For all of my broadcast career, people have called me and told me the following. [00:02:05] Dennis, I would so love to visit Israel, but I want to go when it's safe. [00:02:13] So I've been broadcasting 35 years. [00:02:15] These people who feel that way have never gone. [00:02:18] In the meantime, I take 600 people every other year. [00:02:23] And I have gone about 25 times and have had the most wonderful experience as a result. [00:02:32] It's an attitude in life. [00:02:36] There are minimal risks that are just worth taking. [00:02:43] That's how I look at life. [00:02:46] This is a great learning lesson for all people. [00:02:52] Will you look at life and be scared or will you look at life and embrace it? [00:02:59] That's it. [00:03:02] I wear seatbelts. [00:03:07] I do not ride a motorcycle on highways. [00:03:12] To be honest, I don't ride a motorcycle anywhere. [00:03:14] But I'm not against it. [00:03:16] But I think that riding a motorcycle on highways is risky.
