Dennis Prager Show - Caller Thanks Dennis for Romance Aired: 2020-02-21 Duration: 05:57 === Valentine's Day Romance Talk (02:19) === [00:00:00] Patty, Scottsdale, Arizona. [00:00:01] Hi. [00:00:03] Hi. [00:00:05] Hi, Bill. [00:00:07] I'm a little nervous. [00:00:09] Patty and John here, and we were listening to the Love and Romance Hour that you had right before Thanksgiving for Valentine's Day. [00:00:21] Right. [00:00:21] And we want to thank you because we are one of those couples, and we've been married 34 years, who have... [00:00:29] We had separated physically from one another, even though we've been married and we were happily married. [00:00:35] But intimately, we lost that ability. [00:00:38] And when I heard you, we listened that whole day. [00:00:41] And when you went through about saying how the survey was, how the top one thing that men would like for Valentine's Day gift was love and affection and romance. [00:00:51] And then we went through all the women's things, all five things and cards. [00:00:56] Jewelry, but none of them was having romance. [00:00:58] And so my husband, I really listened. [00:01:00] I have to tell you, I really listened. [00:01:01] And that day I said to my husband, watch the calendar. [00:01:05] He had no idea what I was talking about. [00:01:07] And I told him a couple times, just pay attention, watch the calendar. [00:01:10] And sure enough, we had a very romantic and wonderful Valentine's Day. [00:01:16] And it was because of you. [00:01:19] You made my day. [00:01:22] I really can't tell you. [00:01:29] I hope I meet the two of you. [00:01:33] I have so much I could say about that. [00:01:36] For those of you who didn't follow it entirely, and I don't know why you wouldn't, I was reading a survey before Valentine's Day, and it said, you know, 90% of men answered, what would you like for Valentine's Day? [00:01:54] It said sex. [00:01:56] And we spoke about that on the Male-Female Hour. [00:01:59] By the way, it's amazing. [00:02:00] I didn't even know that this was going to happen. [00:02:03] I mentioned to you the power of the Male-Female Hour. === Big Theological Difference (03:52) === [00:02:06] And then here's a perfect example. [00:02:09] So go to the Prager store and enjoy yourself. [00:02:14] By the way, in case you don't know, and I know all of you who listen know this is true. [00:02:21] It's not pro-man and it's not pro-woman. [00:02:23] It's pro-both. [00:02:27] So, thank you. [00:02:30] Very often, couples come over with sort of that proverbial twinkle in their eye. [00:02:37] You know, just, Dennis, thank you for the bail female error. [00:02:42] And I look at the guy when it's a couple, and I go, sir, you owe me. [00:02:49] And they both go, yes, that is correct. [00:02:53] All righty, everybody. [00:02:56] Let's go to... [00:02:57] Gary wants to ask me about, if I don't believe Jesus is the Son of God, do you therefore believe he was a liar or crazy? [00:03:09] That is the famous question that is presented. [00:03:13] And what is it? [00:03:14] Is there three people, right? [00:03:15] I mean, not three people. [00:03:16] There were three choices, isn't it? [00:03:18] A liar, madman, or what he said he is. [00:03:23] Yeah, right, exactly. [00:03:26] I have not found that question to be a fully intellectually honest question. [00:03:37] First of all, one assumes that the non-Christian believes that everything in the Christian Scripture is as written. [00:03:48] Maybe Jesus did not say that. [00:03:51] It's obviously a Christian... [00:03:56] My view, in a nutshell, is that God uses Christianity to bring the world to the Ten Commandments, to the Torah, and to God. [00:04:12] So I not only don't have a problem with it, I want it to succeed. [00:04:19] Maimonides, who... [00:04:21] Who's the greatest Jewish thinker in Jewish history, 11th century, 12th century, said that, and acknowledged, Christianity has brought more people to the Torah than the Jews have. [00:04:36] So, I don't, I've never tried to, anyway, I never argue, as you know, I never argue faith, ever. [00:04:43] I argue morality, reason, politics, music, but I never argue faith. [00:04:50] But there's always at least one question with regard to this on Friday, and I sometimes ignore it, and sometimes I address it. [00:05:01] Today I addressed it. [00:05:03] By the way, I have a number of interesting, great dialogues with Christians coming up. [00:05:10] They're titled often, Ask a Jew, Ask a Gentile. [00:05:14] And when asked, I'll tell you the biggest difference. [00:05:20] It comes from, you know, one of the biggest pro-Christians. [00:05:25] I wish Christians were as pro-Christian as I am. [00:05:28] Many are, obviously. [00:05:29] Many aren't. [00:05:30] But I do believe that one earns one's way to heaven. [00:05:36] That is the theological, a big theological difference. [00:05:43] It doesn't matter to me, but I want you to know. [00:05:48] That's a big one. [00:05:49] As I have said, often my favorite word in English is earn. [00:05:54] Back in a moment.
