Dennis Prager Show - Tax Returns Tell us Nothing About Candidates Aired: 2020-02-20 Duration: 02:29 === Tax Returns and Alternate Realities (02:15) === [00:00:00] I think, and it is a major issue because the President of the United States has been hiding behind his tax returns, even when courts order him to come forward with those tax returns. [00:00:12] There they are applauding. [00:00:13] I tell you, the left's ability to live in an alternate universe, and I admit, I've been in an alternate universe than they do, obviously. [00:00:26] Well, one of our universes is real, and one is make-believe. [00:00:30] Theirs is make-believe. [00:00:32] There is zero importance in releasing tax returns. [00:00:35] All it does is humiliate candidates. [00:00:40] To run for the United States, the lie, I'll tell you, it's like the lie of the world is coming to an end because of global warming. [00:00:48] The oceans will rise and inundate land. [00:00:55] They believe that, but they're against nuclear power. [00:00:57] So they don't really believe it. [00:01:00] They believe tax returns tell you a great deal about a presidential candidate, but they don't think it tells you a lot about a senatorial candidate or a House candidate or the editor of the New York Times. [00:01:14] The editor of the New York Times has more clout than any senator or congressman. [00:01:19] Only the president has more clout. [00:01:21] Why don't you demand that they show their tax return? [00:01:25] Well, they're not running for office. [00:01:26] It's a private company. [00:01:28] I understand. [00:01:28] But morally, why don't you demand it? [00:01:30] I don't say legally. [00:01:31] It's not a legal demand on a president either. [00:01:37] It's the world of the non-thought-through idea. [00:01:41] You cannot be intellectually deep and a leftist. [00:01:44] It is not possible. [00:01:45] You could be a liberal, you could be a conservative, you could be an independent, you could be a Shinto, Buddhist, Muslim, Jew, Christian, but you can't be a leftist. [00:01:56] It is an intellectual fraud, and it has been since Marx. === $100 Million in Ads (00:28) === [00:02:04] The things that they applaud, that's the only depressing part. [00:02:09] Watching them at each other's neck was not depressing. [00:02:17] I'll tell you, they gave enough lines last night for $20 million, $100 million of ads for the Republican Party when the election comes. [00:02:27] We'll be back. [00:02:28] I'm Dennis Prager.
