Dennis Prager Show - Soleimani's Death Wasn't Celebrated as Bin Laden's? Aired: 2020-01-16 Duration: 03:48 === Imagining America's Exceptionalism (03:47) === [00:00:00] So is it the New York Times piece that we're a cult? [00:00:03] LA Times? [00:00:05] It's a big cult. [00:00:07] 60 million people cult. [00:00:10] It might be the biggest cult ever. [00:00:15] Is it the biggest cult ever? [00:00:18] There are people on the left who believe that Christianity is a cult. [00:00:24] So it's not the biggest cult ever. [00:00:26] There you have a billion people in a cult. [00:00:30] From the left's perspective. [00:00:35] The press is so dishonest. [00:00:43] The achievements of this president are so remarkable. [00:00:46] If there were a conservative press, we would just be smiles in this country. [00:00:57] I want you to imagine a conservative New York Times, a conservative news network, CNN. Imagine that. [00:01:11] Imagine you send your kid to a university. [00:01:14] I mean, let's play John Lennon's game of imagine. [00:01:19] I imagine sending my kid to university. [00:01:24] And coming home and saying, you know, Mom and Dad, my professor emphasized the fifth of the Ten Commandments, that I honor my mother and father, even though, you know, I've had issues with you, Mom and Dad, but nevertheless, there's no asterisk at that commandment. [00:01:45] You know, I still may not agree with you on everything, but you're certainly going to get my honor as my parents. [00:01:54] You know, Mom and Dad, I took a course in American history and I realized this country is really exceptional. [00:02:04] Everybody had slavery, but America fought a war to abolish it. [00:02:12] And that's why more black Africans have come to America voluntarily as immigrants that came involuntarily as slaves. [00:02:22] You know, Mom and Dad, I didn't know that until my professor of history showed me that. [00:02:30] I have such a more positive view of this country. [00:02:38] Of course, before class, as class started, we took the Pledge of Allegiance and then resumed our studies. [00:02:52] I realized that, you know, I had a pretty radically secular upbringing, but America was really founded on what I now understand are Judeo-Christian principles. [00:03:05] That even Jefferson, who is no Christian as such, made it clear that if there's no God, if the Creator doesn't give us our rights, then they're not inalienable. [00:03:20] Men give rights. [00:03:21] Men take rights. [00:03:22] God gives rights. [00:03:23] They're permanent. [00:03:24] They're fixed. [00:03:26] Can you imagine that, my dear listener? [00:03:29] Your kid coming home from college like that? [00:03:34] You turn on the conservative news network, still called CNN. They tell you how good the economy is. [00:03:44] They delineate the evil of Soleimani.
