Time Text
How you doing, sir, Mr. Prager?
Yeah, I was talking to a friend earlier, and unfortunately they do stand on the other side of the aisle this past weekend.
My question to you, or my point is, I'm trying to make a point here if possible, is what has happened to our patriotism, first of all, first of all, and you said it best once, is people take living in this country for granted.
I'll never forget you saying that.
But the reason I call it is, when has...
When has it become that we have to justify killing terrorism?
Has that word been watered down now where it's not a bad thing?
Do we have to have a 9-11?
Do we have to have somebody that we know die to bring our patriotism back to show that they're terrorism, Mr. Carter?
I'm just at a loss to hearing these folks say that, sir.
I'm just – what is going on?
Well, I think I can explain.
First of all, there are two separate issues, patriotism and killing terrorists.
You don't have to be a patriot to kill a terrorist.
You have to have a moral compass that is working, and you have to have simple self-interest.
If you don't kill him, he will kill you.
The Iranian regime has made no other claim.
It has been completely open.
It would like to destroy America, of course.
It first wants to destroy Israel.
They usually go in tandem.
People who hate one usually hate the other, not always.
And this man was trying to kill American troops and had already done so.
He had engaged in Iranian terror all over the world.
The question that was just posed is completely valid.
When President Obama took out, remember that guy, Olaki, the American-born...
Convert to Islam, who became a major terrorist.
President Obama took him out.
Why didn't he need congressional authorization in advance to do that?
Because he was a Democrat.
That's why.
That foreign policy has become completely politicized, as if it was just another Supreme Court justice nominee.
Contentious disagreement.
That's what it's become.
Because anything...
The president was attacked two days earlier by a Democratic senator for doing nothing.
Then he was attacked two days later by the same senator for doing something.
That's the way it works.
