Jack Pisovic and Joshua Lysak argue Bad Bunny’s "Island First" Puerto Rican identity clashes with American assimilation, citing his opposition to U.S. cultural integration like Hawaii’s. They link his rise to globalist immigration policies, framing it as a deliberate divide-and-conquer strategy targeting MAGA supporters while noting 40% of ICE agents are Hispanic. The episode also dissects the sealed evidence in Tyler Robinson’s alleged assassination of Charlie Kirk, questioning defense tactics amid calls for transparency—echoing demands from cases like Rittenhouse and Predi—to expose all trial footage and data as a principle of justice. Ultimately, it frames cultural loyalty and public accountability as core tests of American identity. [Automatically generated summary]

Fallout and frustration tonight after the release of millions of pages of Epstein documents showing the late convicted sex offenders' ties to the rich and powerful, like former Prince Andrew, seen in these photos kneeling over an unidentified woman.
It's just days before Congress was set to potentially hold them in contempt.
Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to give depositions as part of a House committee's investigation into sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
For months, the Clintons held their ground against Republican Chairman James Comer's subpoenas, dismissing his demands for in-person depositions as legally toothless and invalid, and slamming the investigation as a political hit job.
But after some Democrats said they would join Republicans in recommending contempt charges, the Clintons have now agreed to testify.
Christy Noam announcing that body cams will be worn by all ICE and Border Patrol agents effective immediately.
President Trump there also mentioning that here in the Oval Office.
This they post on social media from Christy Noam saying, I just spoke with Border Czar Tom Holman, the ICE director, the Border Patrol Commissioner, and effective immediately.
We are deploying body cameras to every officer in the field in Minneapolis.

Another high-stakes hearing ahead in the case against Charlie Kirk's accused assassin, Tyler Robinson's defense team fighting to keep key evidence sealed and arguing intense media coverage is tainting the jury pool.

Turning Point USA has revealed the lineup for its all-American halftime show.
The conservative group says it's hosting the event as an alternative to the official Super Bowl halftime show.
The announcement follows controversy over the NFL's choice of Bad Bunny as this year's headliner.
Kid Rock is set to headline with country artists Brantley Gilbert, Leigh Bryce, and Gabby Beretz.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard today's edition of Human Events Daily.
Today is February 3rd, 2026.
Anno Domini.
And gosh, what can I say, guys?
It looks like once again, Turning Point USA is driving so much in the news cycle.
Whether it be our incredible halftime show that is lined up for this weekend, let me tell you something right now.
If you had told me a couple of months ago that when I started going rogue and just tweeting about this halftime show, that we would be sitting here lined up looking at a show that is going to have some of the best artists, the greatest players on the planet.
We're talking about people like Kid Rock who, let's just be fair.
Let's just say right now, Kid Rock should have been headlining halftime shows for years.
Kid Rock is someone absolutely that America wants to see at a halftime show.
You all know that I'm telling the truth about this.
You all know that I'm right.
Take the politics and all the rest out of it.
It has nothing to do with that.
This is a guy who sells them out coast to coast.
Then you've got great up-and-comers.
Gabby Barrett, for example, who's from Pennsylvania, just like myself, the other end of Pennsylvania, but that's okay.
I'm really excited that she's going to be there.
And, you know, having got to can't reveal too much, but having got to, you know, interact with the team a little bit there, it's just been amazing seeing it all come together.
So I never would have believed this caliber of performers would be there, would be working with Turning Point USA.
And it's really just a blessing.
That's all I have to say.
It's a blessing, and it's all for Charlie.
This is something that's absolutely Charlie's idea originally.
This is something that he and I used to chat about.
We would joke about it.
And I would be like, hey, let's, you know, do a what if we did our own show?
Because Charlie would always be railing about the halftime shows.
And here we are.
Here we are finally getting it done.
It's going to be great.
We've got a great theater lined up for this.
So you have to imagine it like, you know, like you're like a Grammys performance, like an Oscars performance, one of those big, totally filled, packed to the gills theaters where everybody's cheering.
They come in and that way it gives us the ability to have the cameras, you know, flying in from all over the place.
You get all sorts of angles.
It's just going to be amazing.
And the whole thing is, this is a celebration of America.
Whereas the other guy, Bad Bunny, he's America last.
So let's talk about the differences.
All right.
Ours, Pro-America, it's going to be in English, you know, the language of America.
Whereas Bad Bunny is going to be in a foreign language.
And I just went and saw his little speech or whatever you call that thing at the Grammys.
The guy speaks in broken English.
And this is one of the, so the New York Times ran the story, and it's going viral on X, and they're saying, oh, you know, some anonymous NFL player said that Bad Bunny isn't an American.
And of course, people are saying, oh, technically, yeah, we get this.
But there's something deeper here.
And we're going to explore that a little bit on the show today.
The question of what is an American?
And of course, this is a question that I've been asking going all the way back to SAS of 2024.
There is a serious question there.
There's a difference between being an American and just being an American on paper, right?
Does a piece of paper make you an American?
It doesn't.
We all know that it doesn't.
And you know who you can ask to find that out?
Bad Bunny himself, because he'll tell you that he's a Puerto Rican.
He flies the Puerto Rican flag.
He's someone who sings predominantly almost 100% in Spanish.
So let's cut the crap.
Let's cut the crap.
Stand up for yourselves, America.
We are Americans.
It's as simple as that.
Right back, Jack Posobiec, Human Events Daily.
Stand in our way and our golden age has just begun.
This is Human Events with Jack Pesovic.
Now it's time for everyone to understand what America First truly means.
Welcome to the second American Revolution.
All right, Jack Poseobic.
Here we are back.
Human events daily.
Really excited to be here.
Really excited that we're able to do all the things that we're doing today.
And by the way, I just want to shout out because I didn't mention this before in the previous segment.
Don Jr. just tweeted out about our halftime show.
Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War, tweeted out about the halftime show.
And perhaps we should have some, and perhaps I'm not really at liberty to say, but let's just say there's some conversations being had about air assets.
Simply leave it at that between us and the Pentagon.
And of course, the great Vice President 48 himself, JD Vance, tweeted out about the halftime show.
It's amazing.
It's incredible.
This is the America first halftime show.
This is the one that you want to be.
Don't be a conservative.
Don't be kicking back a Bud Light.
No, You're going to be pro, pro-America.
You're not going to go to the America last, the America-hating Bad Bunny.
No, you're going to go to the pro-America halftime show.
We're talking about Turning Point USA, Turning Point USA halftime show.
This is the one that you want to watch.
And you know what?
Just change the channel.
Just turn it off because imagine, imagine the response that's going to come out when they go back and look at the ratings.
And all of a sudden, it's like, boom.
And the ratings crater.
I want a ratings valanche.
Okay, that's terrible.
Right there in the middle of it.
It's going to be so good.

Want to welcome back to the show a guy who we've had on multiple times.
I've been on with him multiple times, but now for the first time as a direct colleague here at Real America's Voice, the new host of After Hours, it is the great Alex Stein, the pimp on the blimp.
What's up, Alex?
Thank you for having me, Jack.
Alex Stein's Return00:08:19
I'm really excited for the halftime show.
You know, I'm a huge Kid Rock fan.
Ball with the ball, the bang, to bang, diggy, diggy, diggy.
So if he plays ball with the ball, it'll be better than Bad Bunny is ever any song Bad Bunny's ever made.
So Alex, what we're going to actually, I wanted to let you know that because, you know, look, Kid Rock, he's got a very expansive touring schedule.
And it's just something where, you know, if he gets a little sick or, you know, if something happens with a sore throat, with laryngitis, things are going around.
If he catches a bug or perhaps China launches a bioweapon at him, can you be the understudy for Kid Rock?
Will you be able to perform ball with the ball if, God forbid, something happens to Kid Rock this Sunday?
Well, obviously, we don't want anything to happen to kid, but you know, if he does get injured, I mean, I think I would make a good second string, second stringer to get in there and just ball with the ball.
But on a serious note, though, Jack, when I was a kid, that was my favorite album.
I listened to Ball with the Ball so much.
So it's really kind of cool.
Yeah, Devil Without a Cross.
Well, but I'm saying it's really kind of cool to think that now Kid Rock is part of this political movement that I'm part of.
Like, I just would have never envisioned that.
It's just weird how the world works.
I'm sure you're probably surprised too that now.
Yeah.
It's crazy.
Yeah.
And it's the way I look at it too, is it's, it's it to.
In a sense, it's even more than politics right, because we're not like, we're not going to be talking about politics at this event.
We're not going to be.
You know oh Trump, this Trump no, it's not that.
Um, it's literally going to be.
We've got a great show lined up.
It's going to be in this great theater where people can see it.
It's going to be like an Oscars performance, a Grammy performance, and it's it's really just kind of like.
For people who are sick like Charlie Charlie used to be sick of these Super Bowl halftime shows you can have an alternative to say, you know what this is kind of like, what i'm more looking for in the first place, it's literally just like the America of the 90s and 2000s.
That's all it is well.
And you know jack, i've been watching this America's TEAM documentary on Netflix.
I don't like Netflix really, but it's just so good.
You know, and a lot of people think i'm conservative, i'm Anti-lgtq, which is impossible because i'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, so obviously I have a lot of gay pride.
But I want to say that the NFL used to not be woke like the NFL used to be so cool and it's really just lost any like charisma or goodwill that it had with the fans.
Like every stadium basically looks the same.
They're all going to indoor stadiums because people were complaining in the AFC championship game for snow.
Like the football that I grew up watching, you loved it that the Green BAY Packers game was snowing.
You respected that.
The Buffalo Bills game was snowing.
But even the fans are basically deluded and kind of brainwashed into thinking that this new NFL is a good product when it's absolute garbage.
So really, if you guys are watching the Super Bowl, which I know a lot of us are, and i'm at Target trying to expose these ice protesters uh, you know, causing all these employees a bunch of headaches by returning salt, buying salt and returning it.
But my point is the NFL has gone woke, the product stinks and I hate to see it like.
I watch all the clips from the 90s and just see the degradation of the league.
How far downhill it's gone it's.
It's an absolute travesty.
No, it really is.
And this, this should be something where Americans can just tune in and have a good show.
That's really all it's about.
Just having a good show.
It's really as simple as that now.
Now I want to, speaking of good shows, though.
You've got your show up.
It's live.
It's going to be on walk us through every night, 11 p.m. Eastern REAL America's Voice what's going on on there?
And, and of course you know, I have to ask, how are you dealing with the fallout of you being named in the Epstein files?
Well, you know, i'm actually kind of happy to be in the Epstein files, because if you're a real pimp on a blend, you're going to be in the Epstein files.
That doesn't mean that I did anything to children.
I was just hanging out.
I was on a Disney cruise, Jack.
I was on a Disney cruise.
I was, you know, and they invited me to the island.
They said there's free food and drinks.
So what?
I'm guilty now.
Trust me, I didn't do the same thing as Bill Clinton.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Are you trying to say that you accidentally went to Epstein Island?
I mean, I accidentally said yes, and then I willingly went.
But listen, that's neither here nor there.
I want to actually talk about my show for one second about the Epstein stuff.
Jack, you're very familiar that there's a very, well, I'm saying there's a very, there's a strong rift within the conservative movement, right?
And, you know, I have a lot of nuanced political takes.
Like, I want amnesty for Big Booty Latineas, which that's not very popular in conservative media or in conservatism for that matter.
And I kind of want to use, however, Tom Homan is in agreement with you on that.
See, Tom's my guy because he's got that dog in him.
But my point is, I actually want to use the show to kind of bring the right together because that's what they want to do.
They want to divide and conquer us.
And because we have been winning, our side has been winning.
They kind of create these like micro fights where it gets a lot of our attention, but it's, it's all just kind of brain rot.
Does that make sense?
Like we're fighting over nothing because like who's not conservative enough?
But in reality, we all want the same thing.
We want to have a country where we can all be successful and we don't want to turn our kids into transgenders and you don't want to have, you know, government overreach.
So I hope my show can, I guess, kind of push buttons of everybody, but also bring people together, Jack, because I hate to see everybody fighting on the internet.
It makes me really sad to see people that were once friends not that long ago become mortal enemies.
To me, it's ridiculous.
But I see you defending a lot of the people that I'm going to try to defend on my show.
So I think we're like-minded when it comes to a lot of the fighting being unnecessary on the right.
Well, and we need that, but at the same time, we also need somebody who's up there who's willing to just take shots at everybody.
And that's what I've always appreciated about you is that you are willing to take shots at everybody and even go.
And by the way, let's just face it, Gavin Newsome, the fact that he wasn't named in the Epstein files, doesn't this show that even like how far down the list do you have to be where even Jeffrey Epstein considers you a loser?
I know.
Well, Jeffrey Epstein, and you, I think this is why, though, everybody knows Gavin Newsome was his number one staffer was sleeping with his wife.
Like Gavin Newsom is so sexually disgusting that even Jeffrey Epstein's like, oh, I don't know.
I don't know if we should bring him to the island.
I mean, at least Jeffrey Epstein probably wouldn't sleep with his best friend's kid.
Or I don't know, maybe what.
I don't even try to defend Jeffrey Epstein, but I will say this.
If he did give Bill Gates HIV, then, you know, maybe he's not as bad as we think he is.
Maybe Epstein has, you know, maybe a little bit of a redeeming quality about himself because honey putting Bill Gates.
Wait, wait, so what are you doing?
Are you saying that it's possible that the whole reason that Bill Gates was trying to develop all these vaccines is because he was actually just trying to use that as a cover for curing whatever STDs he got from Jeffrey Epstein?
I mean, I wouldn't put it past them.
You look at, and on top of it, why was Bill Gates so obsessed with birth control?
Probably so he can go do a bunch of weird sexual stuff and not get caught by Melinda.
I mean, Bill Gates is allegedly trying to surreptitiously dose Melinda with a moxicillin so she doesn't catch his chlamydia or gonorrhea or whatever it is.
I mean, that's an evil person.
If you do that to your wife or the mother of your kids, imagine what you would do to the American public.
You would do much worse to the American public.
So Bill Gates is a horrible human being.
Far, far worse.
Yeah, he's a work.
Alex Alex Stein, where can people go to get the show every night?
Tonight, 11 p.m. Eastern, Real America's Voice.
I'm happy to be co-workers with you, Jack.
It's an honor and privilege.
And like I said, Jack, I really appreciate you actually speaking out.
And you call balls and strikes, and not a lot of people do on our side.
I appreciate you doing that.
I appreciate that.
Alex Stein, check it out.
After hours with Alex Stein.
He is paying penance for his many, many sins.
We'll be right back.

Want to tell you about one of our great partners, and this is Allegiance Gold.
Guys, you know, I've been telling you about this, that you have to pay attention to what's happening with the dollar debt, the central banks.
It's all piling up.
And when things get rocky, gold has always been the safe haven.
But now we know gold is not just defensive.
It is an offensive asset.
That's why I've been working with my partners at Allegiance Gold for the past three years.
They help you protect your savings in retirement with real physical gold and silver, not paper promises.
And right now, Allegiance Gold is making it even better.
They'll donate 1% of qualified investments from my audience to Turning Point USA or another great America Forest organization, in addition to the 1% you already qualify for.
So you can protect your wealth and support the movement at the same time.

That's protectwithposto.com, 844-577-7676.
Protect your future and stand with me fighting for America.
So we do really need to get into this question.
And I think it's something where there actually is a conversation to be had.
And I've given speeches about this.
We've seen the vice president give speeches about this.
Is Bad Bunny an American?
Is Bad Bunny an American?
And in fact, so people say, oh, well, he's a Puerto Rican and Puerto Ricans have citizenship.
That's true.
They have the paperwork and there's no question about that.
But even if you talk to people who are Puerto Rican, and there are people who work on my show that are of Puerto Rican ancestry, they will tell you that there's a difference between like a Puerto Rican born in New York City versus a Puerto Rican born on the island.
In fact, there's a whole musical about it.
It's called Westside Story where there's a song about it.
So it's like, this isn't something, this has been a question for a long, long time.
And this has been a conversation for a long, long time.
And it speaks to the very heart of everything we've been talking about politically.
So I wanted to bring on a good friend of mine.
You guys know him.
He's the co-author of Unhumans, The Secret History of Communist Revolutions and How to Crush Them.
His name is Joshua Lysak, and he lives right up the street from the real Haitians of Ohio.
Joshua, how are you?
Doing pretty well, despite the fact that the temporary protected status of the various Haitians is now a federal district judge going to be continued.
Therefore, they are not all going back.
A city of 60,000 people gets to keep 15,000 people from another culture with different values that are completely and totally incompatible with central Ohio.
So I think you see where I'm going with this, Joshua.
If you import 50,000 Haitians to small town Ohio where you live, does that automatically make them American just because you've imported them en masse?
Yes, there's this idea that we have come to know as the magic dirt hypothesis, which is sort of built on the quote, America is an idea.
Therefore, any people, any place that has American, let's say, laws or has a constitution like the United States, it's effectively compatible there.
As we are regularly reminded, Thomas Jefferson, all men are created equal according to the Declaration of Independence.
While that may mean equal dignity under God being ensold, that does not therefore mean that every culture is the same.
What I see American immigration doing is a sort of globalist project, a bit like the Tower of Babel, where everyone comes together, everyone is the same, and the languages get confused, and there is complete chaos.
It is biblical for different people with different languages to live in different places.
Why are we building a neo-Babel in Springfield, Ohio, besides to make ourselves feel like we are gods?
I highly doubt this is going to work.
Yeah, and so this, again, this is something where Bad Bunny presents us a great opportunity to actually have this discussion because even though people can say, like, okay, well, you know, and you know, the fact checkers, the fact-checker Americans will say, well, technically, Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, and therefore Puerto Ricans are a U.S. citizen.
And it's like, yeah, no, we get that.
We're not talking about that.
We're talking about something else.
We're talking about which culture do you identify with?
And I would submit to you that because Bad Bunny, he himself presents himself as a Puerto Rican first.
He refers to himself as a Puerto Rican first.
He flies one flag, the flag of Puerto Rico.
He celebrates his Puerto Rican pride.
And in fact, his specific brand of Puerto Rican pride is known as Island First, where he wants to maintain that cultural identity.
And he has also, because I looked into this, he has spoken out about Puerto Rican identity and he says that Puerto Rico should not become like Hawaii, where he argues and warns the people of Puerto Rico that in fact Hawaii was culturally assimilated by the United States and he doesn't want that to happen for Puerto Rico.
And of course, neither do I. That's why I support Puerto Rican independence, full independence for Puerto Rico.
That's an interesting perspective.
And I think it gets to the fact that something I learned growing up first homeschooled in a very conservative evangelical sort of subculture.
In my mind, until I was about 18 years old, I thought that Americans or an American, an American citizen was the same thing as being, we're going from a noun to an adjective, being the writer guy here.
To be an American was to be American.
And I was 18 years old when I realized for the first time that was not the case.
Where you have, you may have the citizenship, you may, whether it's Puerto Rican or it's Ohio, like myself or otherwise, but the American enculturation, the values, the heritage, when you see the flag, you say that's me,
or you say, that's my enemy, for example, in some cases, or you identify with one flag or another, or you see people all over parking lots of Southwest Ohio, where I live, and you can't help but notice there are Cuban, Mexican, Venezuelan, Honduran, Nicaraguan, and therefore additional ones in people's hanging from little lanyards and little strings inside of their vehicles in parking lots all over Ohio.
You got bumper stickers everywhere.
And I'm thinking, if you're so proud of being Mexican, why aren't you in Mexico?
If you're so proud of being Haitian, why are you here?
Some of you may be American citizens, but you're clearly not American.
Now, that said, there are people whose ancestors are from other places who have successfully enculturated.
And while they may have a different racial background or ethnicity, in my experience, they are American in their culture and their values.
Why Pride Means Presence00:02:22
They grill and eat up, let's say, bacon cheeseburgers just like I do, even if, let's say, they may be from the film.
So it's so wait.
This is a great conversation.
Joshua, we got a quick break.
This is a great conversation.
We're going to hold you over.
Right back, Human Events Daily.
Where's Jack?
Where's Jack?
Where is he?

Difference Between Paperwork & Belief00:08:44
So, Joshua, you know, you're really talking about this, this kind of difference between someone who's an American because they have the right paperwork versus someone who's American because they totally accept what it means to be an American.
They learn the language.
They have the cultural insights.
They believe in the American cultural system.
And look, I'm not going to be one of those guys who sits here and tries to like make this argument, but people do know that I am actually married to an immigrant.
And this is obviously something that we deal with in our family, that my children, when they talk to their mom and she talks about being an immigrant as well, but she teaches them, she teaches them about where she's from, but she teaches them also to love their home, which is America.
Yes, that gets to it.
There's a sense of gratitude whenever anyone talks to Tanya about her experience coming to the United States and now getting to enjoy the privilege of living here versus in many cases, there being a sense of entitlement with regard to gimmis and stimmis from people from the global south, we call it the developing world, think the southern hemisphere and various countries and continents, where, oh, there's free money available.
There's free welfare.
There's free benefits.
There's all these things I get to get, if I can come to the world's economic zone, aka the United States of America.
But the United States is not an economic zone.
It's our home.
Look at Norman Rockwell, let's say, positive propaganda, not a dirty word, positive propaganda about the American experience from the post-war period, mid-20th century.
That sort of Americana, this vision of an American dream with a husband, wife, house, car, picket fence, two and a half kids, one and a half pets.
That is the dream.
And it's not just a dream.
It was a reality that said, if you live this way, you will have these benefits.
You will reap these rewards if you do this work.
But as that message got out via global telecommunications, transportation, logistics, telecommunications, like the internet over time, it came to be, this is what you get by being in America versus the subtle word difference, being an American.
The fruits of the labor of Americans is not from simply being here and getting to defraud us all, whether you're from Haiti or Somalia, but because you live a certain way.
Every July 4th, you appreciate everything that was sacrificed by the Founding Fathers generation.
Come the previous days, July 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
You think of the Battle of Gettysburg that occurred during the War Between the States, which is what it's called in the southern states of this day.
And of course, we all know that that population resulted in the greatest generation, by and large.
The immigrant populations of that period from the northern, eastern, and midwestern cities all encultured with one another through multiple world wars, the Great Depression, and then finally a thriving experience.
People don't understand necessarily that Germans versus Swedes versus Italians versus Irish.
That was a real, real problem for a significant number of decades as part of American history.
Immigrant groups not getting along.
And it took decades for people who look like each other to get along.
This idea of being of like a white America versus everybody else is historically illiterate.
The memes of the Bill the Butcher character from Gangs of New York, that is now going around with the online conversations about immigration.
And that period of American history was wildly violent between and among the Scots-Irish, the Catholic Irish, the English who had been here for a number of years, the Dutch as well.
Immigration has a violent history in the United States.
And the more people we import, the more ethnic conflicts we get.
And people like Charlie Kirk wisely called for moratorium on immigration.
Not just illegal, obviously, but legal immigration.
We need to time out.
We need to have a period of, and perhaps decades, generations of the people who are here to learn how to get along and to separate the people who are Americans with those who can actually be American so that we can reunite the noun and the adjective of American together so we can last another 250 years.
What do you think, Jack?
Yeah, that's what it really needs to be.
I think there's a couple other things going on here too with Bad Bunny, because I think very clearly what's happening is that Bad Bunny is an influence operation that's aimed at splitting MAGA.
So they saw the Hispanic swing to Donald Trump in 2024 and they said, look, we got to find somebody who's like a safe Latino that we want all the people to come up and say, oh, if you're Latino, you support this guy.
And then see, here's those Americans.
They don't support you.
These Trump supporters, et cetera.
When it isn't even about that, when you go and look, as we now know, ICE and Border Patrol, a huge percentage of them are actually of Hispanic extraction.
So it doesn't have anything to do with that.
And in fact, it has nothing to do, it never had anything to do with that in the first place either, because the reason the United States maintains Puerto Rico as a territory is because of the naval presence in the Caribbean and now the air presence.
If you go look at the F-35s, the rest of it, all of those that were flown in the Venezuela operation to get Maduro, all of that came out of where out of Puerto Rico.
That's the reason that Puerto Rico is necessary for the hemispheric defense.
That's why America always maintained that as a base.
We also have Guantanamo Bay for the same reason.
However, for obvious reasons, Cuba isn't always as favorable to U.S. operations out of Guantanamo Bay.
And that's why really the base is only used at this point for detention operations for terrorists and potentially Don Lemon.
We'll see.
And so the whole point of this, you know, the deal, same as Guam, was that the inhabitants of the island were then given U.S. citizenship and it was annexed as a U.S. territory.
And so because of the military strategy, it had nothing to do with, as you say, assimilation to the country.
It had nothing to do with culture.
It had nothing to do with any of this.
It was literally the United States post-Spanish-American War, 1898, coming in and saying, okay, we have these territories now, and what are we going to do with them as we expand into more of a great power?
Also, by the way, much of this was done by Teddy Roosevelt.
And Teddy Roosevelt, in that same era, specifically came out and who fought in the Spanish-American War.
He specifically came out and said, We have no room in this country for hyphenated Americans.
And you know something, Joshua?
He was exactly right.
Be they paperwork American dash, otherwise.
And of course, I like to joke about being NPR Americans or Facebook Americans, keeping that dash in there.
And bringing up Bad Bunny again, that reminded me something that various NPR Americans will do is they will over-exaggerate the pronunciation of various languages that they may or may not speak to try to sound like they're a local.
And went viral last night on X was a 2024 ad for then candidate Donald J. Trump for president.
And it was something like Latinos por Trump was the name of the ad.
And that reminded me, I, a number of years ago, met a man named Jose Rosado.
He's a great follow on X.
And he has kind of the pulse of Central America, so to speak, culturally speaking.
And it was maybe eight years ago.
He told me something to the effect of Joshua, and in his wonderful Dominican accent, he said, Joshua, you have no idea how much Latinos hate illegal immigrants.
And that was my first word of wake-up kind of coming out of liberalism and being an NPR American at that time myself.
What do you mean?
And of course, there are a number of Dominicans and Puerto Ricans that I've met through conversations with him that absolutely love being American and being not just America first, but here's the key for immigration and identity.
American first.
I am deeply proud to use an application.
American first.
I love this.
Could Block Trial Video?00:10:07
Joshua Lysak, go give him a follow, folks, at Joshua Lysak, wherever you can get him.
Right back.
Jack Posobiec, HumanFansDaily.
He's written a fantastic book.
Everybody's talking about it.
Go get it.
And he's been my friend right from the beginning of this whole beautiful event.
And we're going to turn it around and make our country great again.
Amen.
All right, Jack Pasilvic, we're back on with Human Events Daily.
Now, I wanted to get in.
We do have Tyler Robinson updates the case, another pretrial hearing scheduled to take place, really just beginning in a couple of minutes.
But we do have access to some of the hearing, excuse me, some of the motions that are going to be put in at that hearing.
Libby Emmons, the editor-in-chief of the post-millennial and also the host of the new podcast, The Pod Millennial, joins us now.
Libby, how are you?
I'm good, Jack.
Thanks.
So walk us through the latest.
Am I right to believe that Tyler Robinson's lawyers are now trying to block the video of Charlie being murdered from the trial?
Yes, that's certainly what it looks like.
There's a report out from the AP and we're currently trying to track down the documents so that we can read them for ourselves and get an understanding of what's going on.
Today is a hearing for the judge to determine whether or not cameras will be permitted in the courtroom for the duration of the trial.
This has been a fraught issue the entire time.
And there have been numerous times that the judge has told media and cameras to move back because they are not permitted to show Robinson in shackles.
And so his defense attorneys have made a big fuss about this for months.
And we've seen that every time that Robinson has been in the courtroom, that has turned into some kind of problem.
So the hearing today is about whether or not cameras will be permitted in the courtroom.
And I think, as I believe you do as well, we've talked about this many times, that of course cameras should be in the courtroom.
Charlie Kirk did not get to determine whether or not his murder would be broadcast live and it sure was.
And I don't think that the case against the alleged killer here should be held in secret at all.
And then yes, there are also concerns.
The defense attorneys are apparently trying to block the video of Charlie's killing from being shown.
It's unclear if they're trying to block that just from the hearing today or if they're trying to block that overall, but they are apparently concerned that there would be jury bias if they were to see something so graphic and horrific in the courtroom.
Well, and that's the thing, right?
Because what strikes me as odd here is that, of course, Charlie didn't get any ability to have a say in whether or not his murder would be public.
He didn't have any of these rights afforded to him.
He didn't have the right to privacy.
No, he was murdered and knowingly and deliberately so murdered on live stream.
So that, by the way, wasn't murdered, walking out of his car, walking out of his hotel.
The murderer waited until Charlie was on live stream to pull the trigger.
And the reason for that was so that not only would it affect all the people in the crowd, but all the people outside watching on the live stream.
It was, in a sense, a made-for-TV murder.
That's the point.
That's why it was a political assassination.
And of course, one of the highest forms of asymmetric warfare and asymmetric civil war and terrorism.
This is why it is done, to strike terror and fear into the hearts of anyone who's watching, knowing or, you know, trying to send the message that if you do this, know that this will happen to you.
And so I think it's disgusting.
I think it's absolutely disgusting that they're trying to block this evidence from the jury.
Yes, I agree with you.
I think it's absolutely horrific.
And of course, the evidence should be shown.
This is going to be a trial to determine a man's guilt or innocence as regards a brutal, politically motivated killing.
And I think that the jury has to see exactly what this is about.
I think they need to see exactly what happened.
It's not every case where you have a video of the crime and there's a video of the crime and that obviously should be shown in court and should be shown to a jury so that they can help, so that it can help them make their determination during their deliberations.
There's no reason to keep it back.
And this defense team, what they've been doing repeatedly is talking about how there could be bias and how that bias would prejudice a jury or media or the public against their client.
But the fact of the matter is that this is evidence, that this is all out there.
And if it's going to bias people against their client, then perhaps that has to do with their client and not the media and not the jury.
Well, I love, I love, well, and Libby, I love the, you know, I love the double standard here because if you take this as being your frame, if this is your, you know, so if this is your viewpoint, then if you take that standard and apply it forward, then, okay, well, are they, what are they going to ban next?
The autopsy report, the ballistics report?
Are they going to ban the DNA?
Are they going to ban all of these things?
Well, it could be prejudicial.
It could be prejudicial if that's your standard, right?
They're going to keep pushing and pushing and pushing.
And look, I understand that that's the point of the system.
I understand that's what the defense lawyers are doing.
But this team, I mean, saying that you can't show Tyler Robinson on trial because, and the judge made this decision because there might be lip syncers.
I'm sorry.
I don't remember Kyle Rittenhouse ever getting that when he was on trial.
I certainly don't remember Kyle anyone saying that Kyle Rittenhouse could have the ability to not be on camera.
He was on camera for every single second of that.
But you know what else?
Kyle Rittenhouse wasn't scared to be on camera because he knew he was innocent.
Yes, I think that's exactly right.
And there's no reason at all that we shouldn't be able to see the suspect in this case during the trial and during these hearings.
I think it's absolutely a wrong decision by this judge who is placating these defense attorneys where clearly they should not be placated.
That's not what should happen here.
The country is entitled to justice in this case.
And as you said, this is a case that has affected the entire country.
It's affected people worldwide because of the way that it was shown.
It was live streamed.
And because additionally, in the aftermath, we saw every step of the way, right?
I mean, the FBI came out and released footage of the suspect leaving the scene of the crime.
And that is what encouraged Tyler Robinson's parents to come forward and say that they believed it was their son and to help him turn himself in.
Every step of the way, this has been a very tech-heavy case.
This has been a very public case in every aspect of it.
And I think that it would be absolutely wrong to turn off the cameras now.
We need to see what's going on there.
And I think that it's really, I think that's really important that we all see it.
And that's why we've been advocating so hard to have cameras in the courtroom.
And we're not the only ones, right?
Erica Kirk came out.
Charlie's widow came out and said that she thought that the cameras should be in the courtroom as well.
And she's also put together an appeal to have a speedy trial.
There have already been so many delays.
Every step of the way, the defense team has said, no, we can't do this.
We need to move this to another time.
And this case is still not on trial.
I think that's important for people to realize that the case has not hit trial yet.
These are just hearings, repeated hearings to discuss little minutiae as to how the trial should be conducted and what should be permitted at trial.
But I don't think we're actually going to see the trial commence until June or something at this rate because they're just going little tiny step by little tiny step.
And they are delay tactics because I think Robinson and his team do not want to face a jury and I don't think they want to face justice.
That's absolutely right.
I commend Erica for, I haven't discussed any of these motions with Erica, just cards on the table there or anything like that.
That's obviously between her and the lawyers.
But at the same time, I think it's incredible that she's doing this and stepping up, saying that it should be a speedy trial and that she wants full transparency.
The American people deserve transparency.
They deserve this entire thing to be public.
I've always called for, if there's a report on the autopsy, put it out.
If there's a report on the ballistics, put it out.
I don't have to rely on, oh, somebody said something.
No, put everything out.
If there's more video, I want that out as well.
Just put it all out because this is the world we live in now.
We live in the world where people go over things, they go frame by frame.
They did it with Alex Predi, they did it with Charlie's videos when they came out.
It is just reality.
And so, because of the fact that Charlie's murder was live on TV, I think that all of the evidence should be broadcast as well.
Because if this guy's going to get a fair trial, which I agree that he should, I certainly agree that he should, that I want everything done by the book.
But at the same time, I think the American public deserve that as well.
