Yet, his attorneys are saying he's not affiliated with the gang.
More than a year and a half after Rachel Morin was murdered along the Mauna Pontrell, it took that jury only less than an hour to find her killer guilty.
17-year-old Carmelo Anthony was silent after bonding out of the Collin County Jail and being placed on house arrest.
How is this self-defense?
Two days after the family of Austin Metcalf buried their son, they were at the Collin County Courthouse for a bond reduction hearing Monday.
Carmelo Anthony is accused of stabbing and killing Metcalf at a Frisco track meet earlier this month.

Two massive stories that have just been rocketing up the timeline, rocketing up the airwaves, Carmelo Anthony and the Maryland man hoax.
And we're going to talk about a number of things today, but these are really the ones that we want to get into.
And the latest news out of this Carmelo Anthony situation, this was the individual who has been charged with first-degree murder.

And for those who are, you know, who are listening, he is now walking, this is a video from yesterday, walking out of the courthouse, headed home, wearing a suit with his family advocate, a BLM-type family advocate, and walking home.
But it's not going to be his home for long because, as it turns out, It seems the family is now going to be using their legal fund to buy a new house.
Now, that's fraud because this was solicited as a legal fund.
And yet, they're going all in on people like Carmelo Anthony.
And we see the Democrats also going all in on the Marilyn Mann hoax, an MS-13 member who was duly deported.
And why do they do this?
It's called anarcho-tyranny.
We read a whole book about it last year.
They want to support the release of violent people into the community as a means of destabilizing you, as a means of pacifying you.
They don't want you to lash out.
They don't want you to respond.
They want you to accept it more and more and more so that they continue to destabilize the community.

I guess I would say the former president of the New York Young Republican Club for the first time, but he's also a columnist with Town Hall.

Gavin, how are you?
I'm great, Jack.
It's great to be back with you, and thank you for that amazing introduction.
Yeah, I know.
It's like, oh, yeah, yeah, we have a new title for you, so we'll have to work on that, but I'm sure it's forthcoming.
Gavin, you know, we've talked a lot on the program, certainly all last year, about the need for President Trump to actually provide law and order in this country.
Now, someone that I know that you've studied very closely is President Bukele, who arrived at the White House yesterday, and they had this...
Really deep, I actually think it was way over the media's heads, but a really deep philosophical discussion about the purposes for incarceration and the purposes of imprisonment and the purpose of why we have government and why government does these things.
And, you know, you have the Democrats going all in on what I call the Maryland man hoax, this illegal alien who is a member of MS-13, which, by the way, has been designated a foreign terrorist organization.
They're all in on him.
But what Bukele came up and says, well, wait a minute.
It's not about these criminals.
It's about providing the necessary confines and space for a society, for the liberation of society from the violent criminals.
You're looking at this completely backwards.
And, you know, they talk about, oh, due process, due process.
Well, first of all, this guy had lots of due process.
But you know what?
He had a lot more due process than Lakin Riley did, than Rachel Morin did.
So, Gavin, if you could just walk us through this philosophy that Bukele is describing in this incredible conversation that he had with President Trump yesterday.
Well, listen, I think yesterday was historic.
I was happy to be at the White House and saw President Bukele's arrival.
I was honored to be at President Bukele's inauguration.
This past year, I think he's a strong leader.
He's a great leader, one of the greatest in the world at the moment.
What he's done in El Salvador is nothing short of miraculous.
We took a country, he took a country that was previously the murder capital of the world, and almost overnight...
Turned it into the safest country in the Western Hemisphere.
That doesn't happen by accident.
That doesn't happen just per chance.
It happens through will, through force of will, through deliberate action, and through righteous indignation in some cases.
And I think what we're seeing unfold in the discussion you're referencing at the Oval Office is really a reinventing of the wheel.
We are rediscovering ancient wisdom as it pertains to society, civilization.
And the role of the state and the purpose of law enforcement and prisons and how to handle criminals and how to protect victims in the wider population.
These are things that were common sense for centuries.
Every law code, whether it's biblical law or other different cultural codes of law going back all the way to the beginning of civilization, understood that you will not have a civilization unless you punish the wrongdoers.
Punish the criminals and protect the innocent.
Anything short of that is anarchy.
Anything short of that is where you go into a very dark place as a society, a society not ruled by laws, but ruled by violence.
And I think the fact that the left have wholesale embraced that sort of thinking, they've embraced.
The idea of uplifting the criminal, protecting the criminal at the expense of the citizen, at the expense of the productive members of society, it's shameful.
It's ridiculous.
And I think we need more leaders like Bukele.
We need more leaders like President Trump who are willing to call out the left for this insanity.
How dare they defend murderous gang members?
How dare they defend these low lives, these thugs, these violent criminals at the expense?
of law-abiding citizens.
This is electoral simplicity.
This is so electorally toxic for them as a policy position, as a rhetorical device.
But I don't think they're getting enough pushback from it, from the mainstream GOP and other sources.
Many are shying away from this issue because they don't want to appear to be a dictator or a strongman or violating supposed due process rights and all the rest of this other nonsense.
At the end of the day, you lock criminals up.
If they're illegal, you send them far, far away, maybe to a prison in El Salvador, and you protect innocent lives.
We've had a crime wave in this country going on for quite some time, particularly in urban America, and it's spreading.
And I'm glad to see leadership now in the White House who understands that we need a strong arm.
We have a strong hand to deal with the criminal element in our society, whether they're here legally or whether they are citizens.
We need to lock them up.
They need to be punished.
We need to create deterrence.
And we need to send them away if and where we can.
I don't care if they lived in Maryland or Virginia or whatever other state.
If they're illegal, especially if they're a criminal, they have to go back and they're not coming back in, regardless of what some corrupt silly judges may say.
Well, and this also gets into, by the way, some of the things that...
J.D. Vance was talking about in regards to moral philosophy and this idea of the Ordo Amoris, the idea that from a conservative perspective, we care more about those closest to us, our family members, our neighbors,
our community, and then maybe writ large.
Our cities and then our countries.
Whereas from the liberal manifold, you're caring more about things that are further away from you.
These ideas of universal justice and restorative justice to the criminal and very abstract ideas about morality, even at the deference.
To those over the actual effect that it has on the people living here.
For example, Chris Van Hollens, this Democrat senator of Maryland, lives over a state that has tons of violence.
Violence from black gangs in Baltimore and PG County, gangs like MS-13, and yet one of which raped and murdered this beautiful young mother, Rachel Morin, whose killer was just convicted.
And yet you hear nothing, not a peep about him.
But when it comes to an illegal who has been found residing in his midst, he doesn't say that he's liberated his state.
He takes the side of the murderer.
This is a pathology, though, is it not, Gavin?
And there's about a minute until the break.
Oh, absolutely.
It's very hard to explain the position that the Democrats are taking and the left writ large unless you start to recognize that this is sort of a mass psychosis.
If you start to recognize that this is a mental illness, that their positions are not really based on savvy electoral politics as they are on their own nihilism and their own contempt for our civilization and our society.
And once you recognize the root of their thinking, or rather the lack of their thinking, you can better address them.
And I think far too many Republicans are too weak on this issue and they cave to the left because the second the left starts to make, you know, one of their ridiculous appeals and start to claim that they want due process or whatever it may be, the right starts to fold.
And the reality is we should not cave to criminals.
We should not cave to the criminal element, punish them partially.
Are we losing Gavin a little bit there?
I think a little bit.

He was telling us about this.
This ancient wisdom that President Bukele has rediscovered and implemented in his own country.
Some might call it the iron law of reciprocity.
This idea that that which is done to you will be done to others.
Or that which you did to others will be done to you.
So you've deprived others of their freedom.
You have deprived others from the enjoyment of their life.
Their liberty, if you will.
Then you will be deprived of your liberty.
This is the basic building block for civilization.
Gavin Wax, is this the type of thing that President Trump and his administration need to understand?
And it seemed like they're absolutely working with in this working meeting with the White House with President Bukele yesterday.
Well, I think President Trump and his administration understand the rules and principles of reciprocity very well beyond just as a matter of law enforcement, but also as a matter of trade and many other instances in geopolitics and international diplomacy.
And I think this is a really solid principle by which to govern our society in many facets.
And I think as it pertains to the criminal element, particularly violent criminals, murderers, I think we need more reciprocity.
I go as far as to say.
We need to bring back the death penalty in many, many cases of these serious crimes.
And I think we really need to create a...
...once more.
And a lot of this ancient wisdom that I was referencing being lost, a good part of it is because of this sort of postmodern end of history type of thinking that was very pervasive in the West after the end of World War II.
And it sort of led us down this road where ultimately nothing matters and everything has to be inverted.
Everything's upside down.
And all the basic traditions and fundamentals that govern society for millennia had to be tossed out and reinvented.
And we've suffered the consequences of it.
Many countries have.
And it's great.
To see that there's now a pushback, a reaction in places like El Salvador, and it's working out brilliantly to curb these basically satanic cartel and gang members and bringing peace, tranquility back to society.
Once you have a safe society, that's the basis from everything.
It's kind of like Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
You can start from a safe society and you can start developing economically and growing.
But if you don't have the basics down pat, you're never going to succeed.
You're never going to grow.
You're never going to prosper.
This is something conservatives understand completely.

It sounded like the White House is really pushing back on this one.
Yeah. Listen, the verdict that came out yesterday regarding Victor Martinez, I think, was a foregone conclusion.
He was guilty on all four counts.
A lot of people saw it coming.
But, you know, I'm going to give you a very interesting anecdote and kind of a peek inside of the press briefing room.
I was standing at the edge near a woman who...
I'm not going to tell you who it is.
Her initials are ADR.
She is a liberal reporter for a liberal outlet.
And you know, at all the briefings, when they scroll through the pictures of each of these illegal immigrants and they list their crimes and they have, you know, the photo of them, there were a number of those.
And I think that this affects everybody, but there were a number of those that pertain to child crime, which is the worst of the worst.
And she's standing, you know, at like two o'clock for me.
And I see her shaking her head.
And this is not a woman who is a supporter of Trump by any stretch, a supporter of his immigration methods.
But she was shaking her head in shame at some of the crimes of what these people have perpetrated on American citizens.
So I think the messaging is finally getting out there.
And when you have a case like Marilyn, this woman, you know, mother with children, absolutely beautiful, young, It is becoming wholly apparent to the American people that this is a problem that has been percolating underneath the surface and sometimes not even underneath the surface for far too long.
And now we're in a case where the horses have been out of the stable.
They are here.
Now you've got to get them back in the stable, aka send them back to their home countries, which is exactly what the Trump administration is trying to do.
But liberal media is still trying to...
Muddy the waters between the deportation flights to El Salvador and the illegal immigrants that she's listing on the screen.
They're saying, well, why can't we have details about the deportation flights to El Salvador?
And what her messaging essentially is, this is essentially...
A military operation versus a civilian law enforcement operation.
We can tell you the crimes of these people who are arrested.
And it's national security.
And the national security comes to that.

About the Democrats and their support, essentially, for criminals.
For violent, hardened criminals in some cases.
And this pathology that leads them to want to support the criminals getting out of jail, like they just did.

Now he's on home arrest.
And this is something that people need to understand.
That feeling that you feel when you see someone like this be let out.
That's what they want you to feel.
That's exactly how they want you to feel.

We're all having a fun day.
So when it comes down to it, though, you know, we're looking at these cases, Carmelo Anthony, the Maryland man hoax.
What is it about these criminals that makes the Democrat, and really you see it across the left, you see it on TikTok.
We were talking earlier about this with Gen Z. Why is it that they go all in on these cases?
They do it all the time, Jack.
It's such a great observation because the two reactions to this MS-13 gang member who is now in El Salvador, the Carmelo Anthony story, the reaction is linked.
There is a pathological sympathy toward criminals, toward people who do harm on society.
And the innocent, the people who abide by the law, are for whatever reason always Cast aside.
Nobody cares.
And this is actually, and you documented it really well in your book, Jack, that I have read and I've cited in On Humans.
The way that Marxists behave, textbook behavior, they will always sympathize with the criminal because there is always some systemic oppression that can be used to excuse bad behavior.
People are not viewed as moral agents.
And Christians, as Christians in a Christian society in Western thought, we believe that individuals have agency.
There is a difference, a real deep and theological difference.
Between these two ideologies, and you can see it play out in the past, but even now in the present.
And what it creates, Jack, is chaos in society.
It creates disorder and it creates chaos.
And the people who always lose are those who follow the rules and are good people.
Well, that is exactly right, and that's why it is done.
And I keep trying to explain this to people.
And we saw this, by the way, with George Soros and the DAs all across the country.
You know, that used to be something that would get you in trouble for talking about.
Oh, don't mention that.
It's like he's doing this all over the country, from San Francisco to L.A. to New York to Denver, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago.
It doesn't matter.
Every major city, St. Louis, they were getting this.
And now we've got a case in Frisco, Texas, where even after committing a heinous act like this, you have this individual.
Carmelo Anthony, who gets let out.
The family has a legal defense fund up on Give, Send, Go, and they're using that to do what?
Oh, they're buying a new house.
By the way, I'm also seeing online, just during the show, people are sending me comments that they're actually renting a new house, not purchasing a new house.
So, you know, we'll leave the jury out on that specifically.
But either way, this is obviously personal expenses.
This isn't meant what it's done for.
But again, Evita.
Isn't this what we always see communists do?
They raise money in the name of criminality, and they don't use it for social justice.
They use it to line their own pockets.
And so when I hear people say, oh, this is crazy, this is horrific, I say, man, you haven't read the book yet.
You haven't read the book yet!
Because if you read the book, or if you just understood the basics of what happened in Russia, what happened in China, what happened in...
That would happen in France, the French Revolution.
And then, of course, as you know from your own family history, which you've talked about so many times, Spain and the Spanish Revolution, this is what they do every single time.
And it's so clearly a scam, Jack.
I remember, I think the goal was like $200,000 just a few days ago, and suddenly now it's half a million because they're over $400,000.
The price just keeps going up.
What could they possibly need this money for?
The guy's already posted bail after it was reduced to, I think it was $250,000.
What do they need the money for?
Again, it is to line their own pockets.
This is what always happens.
And I'll also say, Jack, that there's this idea that if you're part of a marginalized group, if you think that you're part of an identity group that's going to be sympathized with by the Marxists, that then you're safe, you're good to go.
And that has never been true.
This idea that the left cannibalizes itself is not just something we say.
This is what happens every time.
I think you might have mentioned it in your book.
Xi Van Fleet has mentioned it many times.
There's a story of this.
This schoolteacher who, during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, She was a communist car carrier, and she actually was part of stoning these four landlords.
And then years later, her own students, because she was somebody who cared about education, tradition, actually beat her to death.
They had her kneel on broken glass.
Her body was just shattered, killed by her own students.
And this is, again, somebody who was a leftist, a communist in China during the revolution.
This happens over and over again.
Because you're part of some identity group that's being protected for now, don't think that means you're going to continue to be protected in the future.
Well, and we just saw, and we talked about it earlier this week, we talked about it yesterday, that Governor Josh Shapiro, a Democrat governor in Pennsylvania, just had his home firebombed, the governor's residence.
Firebombed by Molotov cocktail by an avowed card-carrying socialist BLM, a white supporter of BLM.
And the Democrats want to play footsie with the Luigi left.
They want to play footsie with the Tesla terrorists.
Go firebomb the Teslas.
Do you understand that at some point they will eventually come for you?
The snake always eats its own tail.
We talk about this in Chapter 13 of the Unhumans book, where...
We call it the Ouroboros option.
And the snake eventually always eats its own tail.
Or, as an example, the Bolsheviks overthrew the Mensheviks, who overthrew the Russian Empire, the Tsars, the Romanov family.
Well, they tried to institute this Russian Republic for about six months.
They didn't like it.
They said, oh, this isn't moderate.
You know, this is too moderate.
You're not going hard enough.
You need to go much further.
And so these are classic Bolshevik.
tactics that we've seen again and again.
You bring together a coalition of the fringes of society, the dregs of the society, while you're using, by the way, the violent criminals to pacify the populace who might otherwise try to get in your way.
That's exactly right, Jack.
And I'll just say that the lying comes hand in hand with this as well.
The media lies.
This is, again, textbook behavior.
Why are we creating some narrative that this is a Maryland American citizen who's being deported to El Salvador as if it's your neighbor?
This is a complete lie.
The guy is a citizen of El Salvador.
The guy has ties to gangs, an MS-13 gang member.
And there's this narrative now, and you're seeing it a lot on TikTok, because, again, they're not truthful about the news.
That this could happen to any of us, that any American citizen could just be deported by this fascist, horrific Trump admin.
And then you realize, oh, he's actually an El Salvadoran citizen.
He came here illegally and he's part of MS-13.
You just lie about the facts and you can create whatever narrative you want around it.
And anything, whether it's killing, whether it's violence or it's just having a complete disregard for the truth, is justified if it is in the name of progress.
Right, and it's all in the name of progress.
So remember, boys and girls, communism is only one or two mass killings away from utopia.
It's always right after the mass killing.
The utopia has come.
We're going to come.
We promise.
Don't worry about the new homes that we're renting.
Don't worry about these massive mansions that we're all living in, or Patrice Cullors, BLM, getting her five mansions.
No, no, no.
Bernie Sanders is what?
I think he's on his sixth mansion.
I lost count.
Honestly, I can't keep track of all of the Bernie Sanders mansions that he's got.
Has AOC sold her Tesla yet, by the way?
I'm not sure.
Maybe she set fire to it.
We'll see.
But when it comes down to it, folks, just understand that this is all part of the playbook.
Look, I would love to go back to the type of politics that we used to have in this country where we had issues, we debated the issues, and then we came to an agreement about what we were going to do to come forward to have an actual compromise in this country.
We haven't had that for a long time.
We haven't had it for a long time.
It's been 20-plus years.
And I think what you're seeing with Gen Z, and Evita, we've got a minute until the break, but I want to ask you about this after the break, is the way that Gen Z has a different take on this.
Because coming up in, I think, this really caustic, I'll say politically tumultuous time, I think it's really polarized a lot of Gen Z. Yes, it has.
And I would love to get into that.
And I think Bernie Sanders is sort of at the helm of us symbolizing this young youth movement.
And then we're realizing that, oh, he doesn't really care so much with workers because Trump is trying to stand up for them as we're dealing with China, as we're dealing with unfair trade policies.
And the jig is up and we're realizing the actual motivations behind people like AOC and Bernie.
The jig is up.
And I think that's exactly right.
But you're also seeing a huge split, a huge split among Gen Z when it comes to, you know, it seems like men going right, women going left.
You're also seeing, by the way, though, Gen Z is getting more religious, more religious than the millennials.
Hopefully, by the way, less medicated than the millennials, because we found out from The New York Times, of all places yesterday, that it turns out ADHD was, as a lot of people suspected, a massive hoax.

And then they deported him to El Salvador and put him into this supermax prison.
So the Supreme Court was like, you can't do that.
So they unanimously agreed that Trump has to facilitate him coming back.
Even Clarence Thomas said that Trump was wrong here.
And as of today, Trump's just like, no, I'm not going to do that.
This is what you call a constitutional crisis.
He is knowingly defying a Supreme Court order.
Hope you guys understand.
This could happen to me.
It could happen to you.
It could happen to anybody.
Because they're telling you that the government can take you.
Admit that they had no functional basis to take you in the first place.
Have the courts order for you to come back.
All to have Donald Trump say, no, I'm not going to do that because I don't feel like it.
That's absurd.
And the fact that every single one of these Republicans are sitting in Congress right here as we speak, doing nothing about it, shows how spineless they really are.
Call your congressperson and tell them to raise their voices about this.

And there was something really interesting that you told me before the program, Evita, and that was that I asked you, which story is going big on TikTok, the Maryland man hoax?
Or Carmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf.
And you told me the Maryland man hoax is going viral, but Carmelo Anthony and Anthony Metcalf is not really getting traction.
That is fascinating to me.
Can you break that down?
What's your analysis of that?
Listen, I mean, we're just guessing, but there could be a couple things happening here, Jack.
One of them, I think you mentioned that it's possible that just the Austin Metcalfe story is just so indefensible that there's only a few really crazy leftists who have gone viral on X, and most of them are not young.
They seem to be Gen Xers, most of them left-wing minorities defending this murder.
Not a lot of young people are doing that right now.
And then you see this obsession with...
You see also an obsession with what's happening in the Middle East between Palestine and Israel.
And I just think what's happening among young people is a care for everything other than domestic issues.
If it's something that has to do with American citizens, there doesn't seem to be a care in the world.
And that goes for whether we're talking about the Maryland man hoax, whether we're talking about these massive protests for Palestine and whatnot.
Yeah, and just as you've been mentioning this, I've been sort of looking up, you know, Austin Metcalf on TikTok, and I've been looking at Carmelo Anthony on TikTok, and I'm seeing stuff.
There's posts, to be sure, but you're right.
It's a couple of thousand views here and there.
It's definitely not anything with this mass viral potential of the Maryland man hoax.
And this thing, by the way, it's so bad in terms of the facts that are being spread.
By the way, the media will talk about misinformation all day long.
Oh, misinformation, misinformation.
And then they'll turn around and say that an MS-13 illegal alien is a Maryland man.
Wait, the disinformation, guys, it's coming from inside the house.
Yeah. No, and it's so funny that they're saying this could happen to any citizen.
I mean, the question is like, are you an MS-13?
Are you an El Salvadoran citizen?
If the answer is no to those questions, then you have nothing to worry about.
But we're creating this narrative constantly that this individual was somehow a citizen by just omitting that information.
Then we have this idea it could happen to anyone because, again, Trump is an orange, fastest, crazy person.
And it's very dishonest.
And I think that...
I think part of the virality of this story, especially among young people, is that we just don't have the facts.
That there are just so many people omitting key information about this story that so many just think Donald Trump just took a legitimate American Maryland man with a family and completely normal, no gang ties whatsoever, and sent him to one of the most brutal prisons in the entire world.
And that's just not what happened.
Well, and look, you know, you've got Democrat senators saying it from their pulpit, saying, oh my gosh, we have to go down to El Salvador.
We have to protect him.
I'm so sorry because, you know, Evita, correct me if I'm wrong, were these Democrat senators, by the way, Chris Van Hollen, where were they when their own citizens were getting brutally raped and murdered by the very same gang that Abreu Garcia was a member of?
There's no care in the world, Jack.
And that's why I loved yesterday when President Bukele said that he actually views it as liberating millions.
And we should be viewing it that way in this country as well.
That what President Trump is doing with these deportations is liberating this country from illegal migrants who are here, essentially creating a mass violent gang network across the entire continental U.S. Terrorizing citizens,
terrorizing good people who have an actual right to be here.
And this idea that we're supposed to feel bad for one MS-13 gang member who was not even allowed to be in this country...
And not feel bad for the millions.
How about a mother on the day-to-day basis who can't let their kids walk to school because the streets have turned into a war zone and places that used to be safe because we've completely eroded this country with mass illegal immigration?
It's absurd, the priorities.
And so I think we have to change the framing.
We are liberating millions, not throwing one individual into an El Salvadoran prison.
