I think I'm live.
All right.
Well, everybody, welcome to Supernatural Saturday.
I'm Pragmatic.
I'm your host here on Supernatural Saturday.
I've been doing these live streams for a couple of years now.
I used to do them on Facebook.
I have done them on YouTube.
We have done them on Periscope.
Now we are doing them on CloudHub and also Thanks to Telegram, they just incorporated live streaming into their channels.
So now we have the ability to do live streams on Telegram.
So once a month, on the second Saturday of the month, at one o'clock Eastern, I do a live stream.
And I do some teaching, do some encouragement.
Last month, I prayed for a bunch of people in the live stream on CloudHub, and we saw a lot of people healed.
A lot of chronic elbow pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain was healed.
We're going to discuss the idea of power.
We talked about authority.
The authority that Jesus has given to his disciples.
And we're going to talk about power today.
Alright, so power and authority are two similar ideas, but they're very different.
They operate in different ways, they accomplish different things.
And, our scripture reference today is from Luke chapter 9, verse 1.
I'm just going to read it to you.
Then he called his 12 disciples together and gave them power and authority over He gave his disciples power and authority over demons and to heal diseases.
sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and heal the sick.
Alright?
So, that's what Jesus did.
He gave his disciples power and authority over demons and to heal diseases.
Okay?
He gave his disciples two things that accomplish two different purposes.
Authority is used over demons or evil spirits.
Power is used to heal diseases and sickness.
Alright, so last month we talked about authority and how authority is really kind of an issue of identity.
It is knowing who you are.
It's knowing that you've been commissioned by God that you've been given authority to do certain things, including casting out evil spirits.
Authority is very useful for casting out evil spirits.
Authority can also be used in some aspects of healing.
Last month, we had a lot of people in the chat who had chronic shoulder pain, knee pain, elbow pain.
I commanded the pain to leave and a lot of people noticed their symptoms of pain left.
So that is one way that you can use authority.
Now let's talk about power.
Power, when it's described in the New Testament, we're talking about the Greek word Dunamis.
And it is the root word for the word dynamite.
The idea of power is something like, you know, dynamite.
Dynamite causes an explosion.
You ignite it.
It explodes.
It releases power.
It releases energy.
Right?
Essentially, we're talking about energy.
When New Testament writers mention the word power, dunamis, they're talking about energy.
Okay?
The release of energy, of power.
Not the exercise of authority.
It's the release of energy.
What kind of energy are we talking about?
Well, in the book of Acts, on the day of Pentecost, the disciples met in the upper room, the Holy Spirit fell on them, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
They were filled with power.
They spoke in tongues.
And that was the manifestation of God's Spirit in them.
They were filled with the Holy Spirit.
Anyone who is born again, born of the Holy Spirit, they had the Holy Spirit living inside of them.
We are a three-part being.
We are a spirit.
That is what we are at the very basic, fundamental level.
Human beings are spirits.
We are created as spirits in the spiritual world in God's kingdom.
We are a spirit.
We have a soul.
And a soul is responsible for control of thoughts, will, and emotion.
Okay?
But we're not a soul.
We're a spirit.
We have a soul.
The soul connects our spirit to our physical body.
All right.
The soul is sort of a communion and a juncture between our physical body, which is physical matter, and our spirit, which is spiritual matter.
And then we have a physical body.
All right.
Physical body is created.
The physical body will die.
But when we are created by God, we're created as a spirit.
OK, so when we are born again of the Spirit, the Spirit of God.
Makes our spiritual body alive to the Kingdom of God.
And we can we then.
We are a supernatural being, but we are endued with power.
Jesus said to the disciples, go to Jerusalem, wait for the promise of the Father, you will be endued with power from on high.
That's what he was talking about.
When the Holy Spirit comes inside of us and to live inside of us, we have the power of God living in us.
We are walking, talking transformers.
Now, there's a lot of good examples in the New Testament of how this works.
When I say the releasing power, that's what I'm talking about.
It's the power of the Holy Spirit, and what we need to do is release it.
Now, there's a lot of good examples in the New Testament of how this works.
When Jesus had an interaction with a woman who had a flow of blood for 18 years, What happened?
She walked up behind him.
There was a throng of people around him.
There was a crowd of people and She told herself I know if I just touch the hem of his garment I'll be healed and she touched the hem of his garment and power the Bible says power left him went into her body and she was healed and then he asked the disciples who touched me and The disciples were like, what do you mean, Lord?
There's all kinds of people touching you.
And he said, no, I felt power leave me.
Who touched me?
And then he got the woman to testify.
That was a release of power.
OK, the dunamis power of the Holy Spirit left Jesus and healed this woman, healed her flow of blood.
So when I talk about power, I'm talking about a release of energy.
And how does this work?
It's actually quite simple.
It's not as hard as you might think.
So, you know, and I've learned this through experimentation.
I've learned this by trying different things and experimenting.
And Denise and I have seen thousands of people healed over the years.
And here is the way in which power is released.
And it's actually the same mechanism that we use when we exercise authority.
It's faith.
Faith is the trigger that releases power.
It is also by faith that we exercise authority.
You simply believe.
It's that simple.
It is faith that releases power.
Now what do I mean by faith?
So there's a lot of misunderstandings about what faith is and what faith is not.
Faith is not wishful thinking.
Faith is not hoping.
Faith is the confident expectation that what you expect to happen is actually going to happen.
It's a confident expectation.
I sometimes use the word confidence interchangeably with faith because that's what it is.
It's confidence.
I know, because I've seen a lot of people healed, I know that if I walk up to someone who has a shoulder injury, for example, I have confidence, I have faith, that if I can lay my hands on them and release power and exercise authority, their shoulder is going to be healed.
I have confidence that that's going to happen.
That's faith.
Now, Jesus explained this when he talked about the mustard seed.
He said, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will stay to that mountain, be moved, and it will be cast into the sea and nothing will be impossible for you.
And a lot of people think that he said, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, That is not what he said.
He said if you have faith as a mustard seed.
If you have faith that acts the way a mustard seed acts.
Okay?
Not small faith.
Faith that acts the way a mustard seed acts.
Okay, well how does a mustard seed act?
You have to go to the parable of the mustard seed.
And in the parable of the mustard seed, Jesus said, the kingdom of God is likened to a mustard seed, which, although it is the smallest of seeds, grows into a large tree.
So large that the birds of the air come to nest in it.
Okay.
The action of a mustard seed is that it grows into a massive tree.
And that's the key to the kingdom of God.
It's faith that grows.
Everything we do in the kingdom is done by faith.
We prophesy by faith.
We heal by faith.
We cast out demons by faith.
We preach the gospel by faith.
Everything we do in the kingdom is activated by faith.
Mustard seed faith is faith that starts out small and grows.
How does it grow?
Through experiences.
When you have experiences with God, when you have encounters with God, when you pray for people and you see them healed, that increases your faith.
Your faith grows.
You have another encounter, you pray for another person, they get healed, your faith grows.
You have another encounter, you pray for another person, they get healed, your faith grows.
Your faith will continually grow as you have encounters Where you see people healed or prophecy.
If you prophesy more, your faith will grow and you will prophesy more.
It's the same with all the gifts of the Spirit.
The gift of tongues works very much the same way.
If you do not speak in tongues, it's probably because your faith is small.
But if you practice speaking in tongues, your faith will grow and you'll speak in tongues more.
All of the gifts of the Spirit operate through faith.
Now I'm going to get into a little bit of detail here about what specifically power does.
Power is energy.
Think of it as energy.
And one of the key things that power can do is work creative miracles.
Okay?
So, that is slightly different from authority.
Authority is used to command things to happen, command demons to leave, command ligaments, nerves, tendons, and bones to be healed.
That's when you command something, you're exercising authority.
When you're releasing power, generally speaking, you're working a creative miracle.
A good example is a tumor.
If I wanted someone to be healed who had a brain tumor, what I might do is command the brain tumor to leave and the tumor would then leave.
The tumor would obey my authority and would leave.
Let's say a person has something that's missing.
Let's say they have a missing eye or they have a missing eardrum.
A person can't hear because they're missing bones and structures in their ear.
What I might do is release power and work a creative miracle and create new structures in their ears so they can heal.
Creating things that are missing.
That's a creative miracle.
So if you have somebody who's missing an optic nerve, missing an auditory nerve, missing bones in their ear, if they're missing something, if their DNA is messed up, If they have missing chromosomes, chromosomal abnormalities, or DNA issues, you can use power to create things that don't exist.
That is what power does.
It works creative miracles.
How do you do it?
Faith.
Alright, so if we are, if we are vessels of the Holy Spirit, if we are containers of power, If we have the power of the Holy Spirit living in us, what we need to do is let it out.
Right?
Now, in Acts chapter 5, Peter and James were walking down the street, and people noticed that whenever they would walk down the street, if they would take the sick and put them out on the street, and the shadow of Peter would cross, would go over these people, they'd be healed.
So there's the shadow of Peter healing thing.
I believe what that was was a manifestation of the release of power of the Holy Spirit.
I believe, and it's just my belief, speculation, that Peter and James were so full of faith that the power of the Holy Spirit left them, leaked out of them, and healed people as they walked by.
I've actually seen this happen.
I was in Australia back in 2012.
I was there teaching on healing.
We were doing ministry to the homeless, and we would go out in a van with some volunteers.
We'd set up tables, and we would serve coffee and tea and donuts and things of that nature for the homeless, and we'd ask if we could pray for them.
One day we were setting up a table.
I was taking out the table, getting everything set up, and a guy was standing there looking at me.
And he wasn't saying anything.
He was just looking at me.
So I'm setting up the table and I'm bringing out some coffee and tea, and finally he tells me that as soon as I arrived, And got out of the van and started setting up the table.
He was standing there next to me and he got healed.
He had a toothache.
He had an infected tooth and his jaw infection got healed just by standing there.
I didn't pray for him.
No one prayed for him.
He was just standing there and he got healed just by being around us.
And I've seen other healings like that.
And my explanation for that is sometimes, sometimes the power of God will just leak out of you.
If you are walking in faith, If you are walking in belief, if you're confident that you're carrying the power of the Holy Spirit in you and you can release it whenever you want, sometimes it'll just leak out of you and people won't get spontaneously get healed.
And I think that's what you see in Acts chapter five, when they were putting people out on the street in front of Peter and James.
I believe that that's probably because they were so filled with faith because they had seen so many miracles that the Holy Spirit would just leak out of them and people would be healed.
Now, The way that I normally do this is, if I want someone to receive power, I will sometimes just put out my hand, right?
And you don't have to do that, but that's just what I do.
I just gotta put out my hand.
And I believe, in my mind and in my spirit, I believe that the power of God is going to flow out of me into the person who needs to be healed.
So I just put out my hand and sometimes people actually feel energy.
They'll feel heat.
If they have a wrist injury or they have a shoulder injury, sometimes I will just put out my hand.
I won't say anything.
I won't command anything.
I'll be silent.
What I do is I'll just put out my hand near the part of their body that needs to be healed.
I'll put my hand out and in my mind I just believe that I am releasing the power of God.
And many times a person will feel heat, tingling, or some sensation in their body that indicates that the power of God is going into them and changing them.
The way that you know that you're releasing power It's a pretty reliable indicator.
If you put out your hand towards someone and you put your hand near the part of their body that needs healing, and as you are believing that the power of God is leaving you, it's going out of you and it's going into them, many times the person will say, wow, I'm feeling tingling.
I'm feeling heat.
I'm feeling some kind of change.
If their physical body is sensing a change, that is a good indicator that you are releasing power and they can feel it.
Energy, power, it typically will have some kind of a physiological effect where the person will feel something happening.
Like I said, typically tingling, sometimes heat, sometimes cold.
I've had some people where I prayed for them and they felt cold, a cold sensation in their back or their Other part of their body.
It doesn't always happen.
Sometimes a person will be healed and they won't feel anything at all.
It's probably, I would say, 50-50.
When I'm releasing power, about half the time the person will feel something, half the time they won't.
Many times they'll get healed even if they don't feel anything.
They don't have to feel anything, but if they do, that is an indicator that you're releasing power.
It's not objectively verifiable, but it's objective to them, which means it's subjective.
People can actually feel it.
It is very cool when you start praying for people and you are releasing power, and they start feeling the power that you're releasing.
So, like I said, we are vessels of the Holy Spirit, and when we believe, when we have confidence When we have confidence that if I have a person who needs healing, and I'm confident that the power of God is going to flow out of me into them.
That confidence, that faith, that is what releases power.
And it brings healing.
It causes miracles.
It will heal people.
And it's a wonderful tool that we have in our tool belt that God has given us.
And it's a little bit unfortunate that more people aren't operating in power.
Because we could do so much more than we're doing right now.
Power and authority can be used to heal COVID.
They can be used to heal cancer.
People are raised from the dead by the release of power and exercise of authority.
There is almost no limit to what we can do if we properly exercise authority and learn how to release power.
Jesus said, all things are possible for those who believe.
And our lack of belief, it's really our unbelief that holds us back.
When the disciples were trying to cast out a demon out of a child, and they were unsuccessful, Matthew chapter 17, Jesus rebuked the disciples for unbelief.
It was their unbelief, their doubt, that caused them to fail in getting this boy delivered of this evil spirit.
And that was when Jesus said, if you have faith as a mustard seed, a mountain be gone, and it'll be moved.
It's all about faith.
Doubt, fear, and unbelief are the enemies of faith.
And when we have faith, when we have confident expectation, that is when we will see miracles happen.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

This is a very powerful way for all of us to demonstrate the love of God.
There's nothing that demonstrates the love of God quite like miraculous healing.
Yes, the death of Jesus is the ultimate demonstration of God's love, but if you want to make it personal for people, release power and get them healed, get them set free, And those people will have testimonies for the rest of their lives about what God has done for them.
It's an awesome testimony to God's goodness and His love.
