[00:00:06]  This is in my general area and what you're going to see is basically the fire coming over the hillsides.
[00:00:19]  And we're driving down a street where...
[00:00:23]  we're on the way to Malibu is what we're doing.
[00:00:26]  As you're going to see, we're actually following the cop cars.
[00:00:42]  And we're watching as the fire is coming over the hillsides to our left.
[00:00:48]  And we are following the cop cars so that we don't have to stop.
[00:00:52]  Because we figured that...
[00:00:54]  Or I was driving.
[00:00:55]  I figured they're not going to turn around and arrest me.
[00:01:00]  And I figured our safety was more important.
[00:01:03]  So you can see the fire coming down.
[00:01:07]  As we're driving, I can't believe they saved that neighborhood, believe it or not.
[00:01:11]  We're passing houses here closer to the ground, but see the line of the fire?
[00:01:16]  And so this is the fire that was on its way.
[00:01:20]  Hadn't reached Malibu that night.
[00:01:22]  This is all in the Thousand Oaks area.
[00:01:25]  I am not in the Oak Park area, but we heard that it was worse over there.
[00:01:49]  And we are following cops out of, and you see all the cars parked on the right-hand side, just a very obediently...
[00:01:56]  I love how people just do what they're told.
[00:02:00]  So if you're going to just burn up and die because a cop wants to get by you, then you're going to do it.
[00:02:08]  And we didn't even know what the cops were doing this for.
[00:02:12]  Like what were they trying to do?

[00:02:45]  Everyone was trying to leave the area.
[00:02:46]  This is the typical kind of thing going on, right?
[00:02:49]  So we're all trying to leave the area.
[00:02:52]  And then people kind of got wise and said, oh, screw it.
[00:02:55]  Let's follow the cops out.
[00:02:57]  And so then people started to turn their cars on and get going again, instead of sitting there like sitting docks.
[00:03:05]  What we've done here now is mostly the fire is now to the left of us and a bit behind us.
[00:03:12]  we've kind of come out, but it is also in the front and to the right in places.

=== Paramount Ranch Burning (01:26) ===

[00:03:53]  I think this is on the way back the following morning, like at 7 a.m.
[00:03:58]  The fire is coming towards us.
[00:04:00]  We are actually going towards the fire.
[00:04:03]  It's now gone into what's called the Paramount Ranch area.
[00:04:07]  And we are driving in a road up above Paramount Ranch area.
[00:04:11]  And...
[00:04:12]  You can see how it's this huge fire cloud that's coming towards us and we're going towards it.
[00:04:20]  It's over towards Calabasas.
[00:04:22]  It's coming through what's called Paramount Ranch.
[00:04:25]  Paramount Ranch is Paramount Pictures.
[00:04:27]  It's a ranch where they film movies.
[00:05:08]  That is Paramount Ranch burning and everyone is standing around watching it.
