Dr. Oz has 99 new uses for everyday things.
Sugar waxing doesn't hurt as much.
Ah!
That hurt a lot less than when I got waxed.
Then Hoda and Kathie Lee show you 99 ways to use wine.
I've never seen an empty glass.
Besides drinking it.
And Rocco Dispirito has 99 exceptional ways to use eggs.
Really good.
That's a total of almost 500 new things you'll learn.
Coming up next on Dr. Oz.
Welcome, everybody.
Today is a really big show.
We are giving you 99 ways to use salt, sugar, wine, eggs, plus 99 of the biggest health bargains and 99 tricks to look better in jeans.
All for you.
Get this started.
I got 99 problems, but a pinch ain't one of them.
That's right.
We got more than a pinch of salt here today.
And we got a lot of sugar in there as well.
In fact, we got 99 pounds of both.
99 better ways to use All that sugar and salt that's not involved with eating it.
And that's why I'm so proud of today's show.
You guys are doing so well in limiting all that sugar and salt from your lives that I've got the ability now to talk about 99 other ways of using all those leftovers.
Let's start with sugar.
Brittany has our first better use for sugar.
Let's see what it is.
Hey Dr. Oz, it's Ms. B here and I'm here to show you how to use sugar without even eating it.
You can use sugar to keep your bread fresh.
It's simple and it's easy and it works.
I'll show you how it's done.
Take a loaf of bread, put it in a container, can't full of sugar cubes, and then you close the container.
And when I get to your show next week, this bread is going to taste like I just bought it yesterday.
And to prove to you that this works, I'm going to take another loaf of bread, Fan container without the sugar cubes.
And let's see what happens.
See you next week, Dr. Oz.
Brittany is joining us.
I'm so happy you got this idea.
This is great.
This has been a tradition in my family for years.
So what we do is we put sugar cubes inside.
Yep, I see them right there.
Inside the container with our bread.
Just throw them right in there?
Yep, you just throw them right in.
Just a handful.
And I'm telling you, it keeps the bread fresh.
The sugar's a little bit moist.
It's sort of interesting, actually.
So I guess the moisture that would have made the bread stale, because I feel this is the original one you made right in that little video.
Let's give it some of our victims here.
Sure, sure, sure.
Just put your hands on them and squeeze the Charmin here.
Compare them.
You'll see the difference.
I got a mic given.
What do you guys think?
That's impressive.
It's a noticeable difference.
Yeah, definitely.
I would not have expected it.
I thought it would be a subtle little thing.
One part that doesn't have the sugar is all crusty.
Exactly.
Does it taste good, too?
Yeah, it tastes like you brought it yesterday.
Well, I'm going to trust you on that.
Nice idea.
Thank you.
I'm glad your family kept that for all these years.
Oh, yes, thank you.
We've got Colleen.
Colleen is an esthetician with Sweet Spa Salon and Body in New Jersey, and she's here with the next better way to use sugar.
It is hair removal.
Now, I've got to say, I've been fearing this, because I've got lots of hair.
Right.
A little sweater that I wear all year long.
Okay.
So, why, sugar, you think, a pretty effective way of removing hair?
I love sugar because it's something you can actually do at home by combining these ingredients that we have here today.
We do a quarter cup of water, two cups of sugar, and a quarter cup of lemon juice.
You're going to cook that, actually.
And you're going to see the color change, which it changes to this color right here.
Oh, yeah, it starts to caramelize.
Yes, it does.
Well, this is warm.
It is warm because we're going to be doing it on you, Dr. Oz.
You want to try this on me?
Oh, yes, we are.
Is that what you guys want?
It's like being the Coliseum here.
All right.
Now, normally I'd give you my arms, but it itches me so much.
You know, I have my sister-in-law.
Okay.
She's complaining that I have too much hair, so she tries to cut the hair.
Okay.
It itches me, so I'll give you my legs.
Okay, perfect.
Does this hurt less or more than waxing?
Well, it's great for sensitive skin.
Always, though, check with the doctor before waxing, because if you are on any prescriptions, your skin is sensitive to any sort of wax.
But if you have skin allergies, this is great.
What do you guys think?
I would give you my back, but I've been through that too many times.
So actually, sugar waxing doesn't hurt as much as regular waxing.
And the best part is it's only three ingredients, so you know exactly what's in it.
So you're just gonna literally press.
It hurts already.
Oh, Dr. Oz.
And the best part is you can use cut-up t-shirts.
I use my son's undershirt.
Or you can use store-bought strips, which we'll just do that for you today, Dr. Oz.
All right.
Are you gonna feel my pain?
So you're just going to press firmly.
She's ignoring me.
Completely.
Well, you know, at work I usually just talk to my clients and I do ignore them because it just takes the pain away.
So what we're going to do is just press firmly and we're going to pull back.
You don't want to do it slow.
Ah!
Woo!
Woo!
I gotta say, in fairness, that hurt a lot less than when I got waxed.
Okay, so you know, isn't that much better?
So I could do that on my back, you think?
Oh, I'll do it for you.
I will.
We need to film that and put that on the web.
With all the screams.
That sounds great.
Nicely done.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
She could be a surgeon, very calming demeanor.
She talked right through everything.
All right, next we got a better way to use sugar, and it was submitted to us by Alexandra through Facebook to soothe a burned tongue.
What she says you got to do is place a teaspoon of sugar, put it on your tongue, then hold it against the roof of your mouth until it melts.
Mmm.
Like that.
That's...
That's talk.
The sugar is said to have analgesic properties, which means it can mitigate our response to pain.
I can use it on my leg.
Now, once it melted, let's say you burned your tongue, that sugar actually has a pretty beneficial impact.
Maybe worth it the next time you burn your tongue on a hot cup of coffee or something.
So, the next better way to use sugar comes from Angela.
Take a look.
Hi, Dr. Oz.
This is Angela Yvonne, and I have a great way to use sugar.
And it's on my lips.
It helps my lipstick fit.
First of all, you start off with dry lips.
Then you apply your lipstick.
Then you apply the sugar.
Let it sit for like 10 seconds.
You lick it off.
Voila!
Not only does the sugar help my lipstick stay longer, it tastes great too.
Thank you, Dr. Oz.
Alright ladies, you'll have to give it a try and let me know how it works.
It gives a whole new meaning to give me a little sugar.
These tips are really sweet and I love them, but now I'm in the mood for something salty.
So Rosie has our first better way to use salt and it's to revive a bitter cup of coffee.
How'd you discover this idea?
Can I give you a hug?
Of course you can.
Oh my god!
Of course you can.
Well, I discovered it because I honestly think I make the best coffee at the Crane residence.
Is this Mr. Crane?
Yes.
It's nice to meet you.
How are you?
That's my husband and he makes the most Awful, awful, awful coffee in the world.
What are you talking about?
So there's an old family secret.
Another one?
That's another one.
You thought he was being celebrated.
So you add a couple pinches of salt to your coffee and it reduces the bitterness and the acidic of the coffee.
Do you want me to try it?
Yeah, of course.
Bitter coffee is a killer for me.
Let me see this.
Oh, it's very smooth.
What a crazily good idea that we've never talked about before.
I love this concept.
Celebrate this, my goodness.
I do, I do.
This is why you're living on coffee.
Congratulations, it's a wonderful idea.
Thank you.
Well, can I tell you why it works?
I was sort of curious because I heard about the tip.
When you put salt, sodium on your tongue, it actually blocks those sort of irritating, bitter molecules from reaching your tongue.
So it's a very clever way of camouflaging stuff that's made a little bitter.
So you can make up for your coffee.
Next, the future has a better way to use salt.
It is to prevent fruit from browning.
How are you, Diffisa?
How do you do that?
Okay, so basically I got tired of having to cut up fruit every single day to take to work with me and I learned, like I looked up a way to preserve my fruit online and I found out that if you take a teaspoon of salt per cup of water and you soak your fruit in it after you cut it up, it'll preserve it for a couple of days and it won't get brown and nasty like this.
So these were all cut the same time, I'm told.
Is that right?
Yeah.
So we cut them all at the same time.
Just look at this, guys.
Just compare these two.
Isn't that a pretty cool difference?
And again, you don't soak them in for very long, right?
No, three to five minutes.
If you soak it too long, you'll have salty fruit, and who wants that?
No one wants that.
Although it does help with the bitter coffee.
Maybe it helps with the bitter fruit, too.
That is a huge difference.
You know, again, I'm always fascinated by how these things work.
Such a simple concept, but it's basic chemistry.
The reason that our fruit gets brown is that we actually oxidize.
It's like rusting metal.
And this creates a barrier.
All right, it's nice to see you done if you take care.
Thank you.
All right, next better way to use salt came from us, came to us rather, from Lynn on Instagram.
She uses salt to chill wine faster.
She puts her wine in a bucket of ice and cold water and then she adds some salt.
The salt reduces the freezing point of the water so the water can get colder without freezing.
That allows it to chill the wine more rapidly.
You can make sure to check out all of these full lists of 99 better ways to use sugar and salt in DrRoz.com.
Here's the challenge, folks.
What are we going to do with the unused, perfectly good bottle of wine?
Any thoughts?
Y'all want to drink.
Y'all want to drink it.
But look who's backstage waiting for the wine.
Kathy, Lee, and Hoda are here.
And they're helping me out.
When we come back, we've got 99 uses for wine.
Don't go anywhere.
What's your most creative use for an everyday item?
I use lemons for practically everything.
Obviously, they taste great in food and drinks, but I use it to sanitize countertops, brighten my whites, relieve a sore throat, and more.
It's a wonder fruit.
Tell us on Facebook.com slash Dr. Oz.
Coming up next, Kathy Lee and Hoda are here, sharing their knowledge on a subject they know a thing or two about, wine.
From cleaning and baking to rejuvenating your body, find out the many new uses and benefits of the fruit of the vine.
Coming up next.
All new Oz.
We're kicking off Celebrity Confession Week with Oscar winner Monique.
How the heck you lose 100 pounds?
And the Hollywood controversy.
All new Oz.
That's coming up on Monday.
We have 99 bottles of wine on the wall, but even with Hoda and Kathie Lee here, we cannot So I've reached out to Oz Nation, and with their help, we have 99 new uses for wine.
But first, Hoda and Kathie Lee, come on out.
Oh, I'm so happy you're here.
Good to see you.
What is this all about?
Well, you'll see in a second.
They're empty glasses for a reason.
I will eventually help you out with that.
We've never seen an empty glass.
Is there ever any unused wine in the studio at home?
No.
Why would anybody want to not use it?
So you have no uses for unused wine?
No, but we hear you have tons of uses for it.
What's the craziest thing you guys have done with wine that does not involve drinking them?
Oh, that does not involve drinking?
And that's legal.
It has to be legal.
What have you...
I stumped them!
Oh, I love this!
We only consume...
Seven years we've been doing it, I don't know.
I really don't.
You don't?
You guys start to drink pretty early.
You have a favorite breakfast wine?
Oh, yeah, mine.
That's always mine.
Breakfast wine.
Come over here.
G-I-F-F-T. We're going to go through all these new uses with two wine experts.
Okay.
I'm going to see if you guys like these.
The first new use comes from Chelsea.
Kim does on Facebook.
She says you can use wine to clean your vegetables.
And I'm quoting her.
She says she fills a spray bottle with wine and says the wine can kill bacteria responsible for food poisoning.
Red wine or white wine?
He didn't say.
Well, let's try it.
I bet they'll both work.
Do you think it works?
Why would you waste it on the vegetable?
Of course, you're going to eat the vegetables anyway.
You're going to eat it anyway.
I mean, it seems like a logical...
How do you normally clean your fruit and vegetables?
Just rinse it off in the sink.
Dirt is good.
We came from dirt and go to dirt at the end of our lives.
She's a dirty woman.
A day without some dirt is not healthy.
All right, here.
So what you do, she says, you take that...
This is full wine.
You're not cutting this.
It's the good stuff.
Okay.
And then you take your fruit or vegetable, you spray it on there, and you rinse it like that, and then you can lick it.
Oh, God.
Oh, no.
No.
No.
No! No!
What do you think?
How is that?
I'm not even crazy about cucumbers.
Here, just to wash it down.
That'll get you going.
That's delicious.
Can you help us out here?
A little here.
All you get for now.
All right, that's tip number one.
The next use for wine comes from Maria, who's in our audience.
She uses, actually, a crazily good idea, baked cakes that are a little extra fluffier and a little sweeter by using wine.
Maria, please explain to us what kind of red wine and how do you make them.
So what I did, I used a basic chocolate cake recipe, and I substituted the sugar with honey.
And then what girl doesn't like a little wine with their chocolate?
So I decided to add a little bit of, about a cup and a half of wine.
A cup and a half of wine?
Or at least, oh, maybe a cup and a quarter of wine into the batter.
Why not a bottle and a half?
Is it red or white again?
Red.
Red or white.
This is not for children.
Are we right?
All right, let's take a bite.
I don't know, but that's not that much wine.
We'd probably get away with kids a little bit and make it fluffy.
If you want to put them to bed early.
Let's see.
We're going to give a little honest taste test here.
Let's hold on.
No one needs a fork.
No one needs a fork.
Nobody needs a fork.
No, thank you.
You don't have to.
You'd be rude to Maria.
She came all the way here.
I think it's delicious.
Maria!
But I don't know what it would taste like without the wine.
That is really moist.
I taste the wine.
I said the word moist.
Don't say it.
That's banned from our show.
Moist?
Moist.
Why?
Because it's icky.
Crazy things on your show.
Who's got the sweeter tooth?
Me.
Oh my gosh, she's the sweet tooth.
I'm a salty girl.
Would you try this at home?
Would you like this?
Yeah, I would definitely.
We'll send the leftovers with you.
You guys are wonderful.
Thank you.
We need something to wash the cake down.
All right, my goodness.
So difficult.
Oh, this is the first time ever Hoda's having our rosé.
Yes.
Can I ask you a question?
You guys cook at home with wine?
Yes.
Who's the better cook?
Kath.
Yeah.
You do?
And I'm not a very good one, so that's a lot.
I'm going to have some as well.
Hoda can make one thing and she makes, no, two now.
What?
You used to make tilapia.
Tilapia I make.
And then you make the, wait, chili and sea bass.
Chili and sea bass, two ingredients, you guys.
Ponzu, ponzu sauce, and the sea bass in the oven.
It's the best.
30 minutes.
Simple.
It is like no boo.
It's delicious.
Yeah, and it's like butter.
I want to see what you think about rosé.
I'm going to get to your rosé, and I'm going to taste this.
But before you taste this, before you taste this, I've got one last little tip that I want to use on you guys, and then I want to celebrate you all.
Okay.
Because it's so wonderful to come visit.
Okay.
We've got a foot bath here.
This is a big, big deal.
A relaxing foot bath that's used in spas all over the country.
So please join us for some vino therapy.
What?
Please.
Oh my gosh.
I hope you didn't waste my wine on this.
No, not your wine.
We did not waste any of your wine.
Yes.
Shoes off.
Get comfortable.
Oh, I love this.
Are you going to rub our feet?
Yes, I'm going through the...
Hoda has the most gorgeous Egyptian feet you've seen in her life.
I didn't get a pedicure.
When she was a baby, she'd put them in the Nile River and soak...
In the Nile.
I found her in a basket on the Nile.
Oh my gosh, Dr. Oz.
What do you think?
I could go for a guy like you.
Oh...
So, you know, the idea is...
Is it the resvestor or whatever it's called?
Resveratrol.
She does have...
She has Egyptian feet.
Look at these.
She has gorgeous, long, Egyptian toes.
She has a massage like this.
She's got the longest toes I've ever seen.
And back to your question, is all those polyphenols?
I love it when they talk dirty.
Oh, that's great skin!
I'm gonna keep massaging, but I want you to explain to everyone what Gift is.
She loves wine so much, she has her own.
You know what?
The man came up to me about two years ago and said, you should be in the wine business.
And I said, where have you been all my life?
So he put me in contact with a fantastic family called the Scheid family outside of Carmel in Monterey area.
You get to visit, I hope?
Yeah, I go three times a year, and they've been in the business for 40 years.
They make award-winning wines, and they're very serious about their winemaking, and I'm serious about drinking it.
So we picked it.
We picked a Chardonnay, and we picked a red.
You should point out, though, this wine...
But the rosé is brand new.
It's delicious.
The wine is inexpensive.
It's under $20 a bottle.
It has a screw top.
A screw top.
Which is so convenient.
And I gotta tell you, it is delicious.
Every single person who's tried it has gone crazy for it.
But we gotta first make sure it tastes good.
Okay, let's try it.
Before you toast.
Got a nice piquet.
Hoda's never had the rosé.
I've never had it.
It's brand new.
This, my beautiful one, is a home run.
Isn't it?
Thank you, darling.
Congratulations.
I love you guys.
Love you.
I want to kiss on both cheeks.
Kiss on both cheeks.
Make sure to check out the complete list for 99 new series of wine on DrOz.com.
We'll be right back with Nine Ones, the biggest house market you've ever revealed.
Don't want to miss it.
That book, Roz, was awesome.
Thank you.
Here's one of 99 from DrOz.com.
Add red wine to your compost.
It'll activate the bacteria that makes fertilizer.
Coming up next, do you spend a lot of money buying expensive health products?
You think you need them all, but they just sit unused in the medicine cabinet.
We have affordable at-home solutions to overpriced store-bought remedies.
The biggest health bargains to save you time and money.
Next.
Hi, Dr. Oz.
This is Yvette Nicole Brown.
I just want to say happy 1,000th episode to you.
I feel like this is our moment.
Like, I've met your wife, I've worked with your daughter, and now I get to have my time with you.
Happy 1000!
All right, welcome back today.
It's 99 Ways to Do Everything and Anything to Better Your Health.
And I know oftentimes health doesn't come cheap.
So now it's 99 biggest health bargains to save you time and money.
Now, all of these products are inexpensive, they're easy to find, and they have multiple health uses to get your biggest bang for your buck.
Michelle has joined me to find out all about this.
So why are you using a health bargain, Michelle?
The reason I'm always looking for a bargain is because these things promise a million things.
You see them on TV, they're going to work wonders.
You go out, you spend a fortune, you buy them, and then they sit in the cabinet.
Right, and they're used for one thing only.
One thing.
We're going to change all that.
So the first health bargain is mineral oil.
Okay.
You ever use mineral oil?
No, I don't think I have.
You use baby oil?
Um, I used to.
When I was sunning.
That's right, we all did.
So, it's interesting.
Baby oil is basically mineral oil with a little bit of fragrance added to it.
So it's like 98% mineral oil.
But mineral oil can do all of these things up here.
It can help as a massage oil.
It can help for shaving.
It can help for makeup remover and removing bandages and moisturizers and cleaning makeup brushes.
All kinds of things up there.
If you bought a mineral oil for all these things, rather than the one item for one problem that you normally get, it would cost you $159.
Wow.
A lot of money.
That's a lot of money.
So let me show you one of my favorite ways to use this.
And I tell you, I love this because it's great for earwax.
What do you normally do for earwax in your family?
We use Q-tips.
Q-tips.
Uh-huh.
How interesting.
Am I not supposed to do that?
Using Q-tips is like taking a rod and shoving it in your ear.
That's great.
Well, two things.
First of all, it shoves the wax further in because it only gets out a little bit of it.
The part you see on the Q-tip that you feel good about, that was the stuff on the outside that was going to come out anyway.
The stuff on the inside gets pushed deeper, and sometimes it can unfortunately hurt your eardrums, so you don't want to do that.
It's a much better idea.
May I demonstrate?
Sure.
You have no idea what you're in for here.
Pull your head to the right a little bit and relax it.
Just relax.
I'm a doctor.
You can trust me.
Are you buying me dinner first?
I need to know.
Yes, you get dinner first.
Of course, always.
Mineral oil.
Take a little dropper, which you can use any old dropper you may have from other medications.
You just put about half a dropper worth.
Oh, that feels weird.
Feels weird.
Weird in a good way or bad way?
No.
No.
All right, I think let that soak in there for a couple minutes.
Put your head over this way and let it drain out.
There we are.
Oh, that feels so much better.
You are so sensitive.
Oh my goodness.
All right, let me see.
Is it just mineral oil?
Anything else coming out of there?
No.
Yes, a little wax coming out.
I see it.
Lovely.
All right, so the stuff comes out.
It looks like that.
And it's a very safe way to do it.
You get used to the feeling.
The kids just moan and groan a little bit, but if you warm it up, you'll make it more comfortable.
But here's the thing.
How much do you think a bottle of mineral oil costs?
I just mentioned $159 worth of value.
Yeah.
I don't know.
$8, $9 maybe?
Yeah.
$375.
Oh, that's a good deal.
$375.
Thank you very much.
Thanks very much.
For all the pain and suffering, enjoy yourself.
Thank you very much.
Next up is Randy's joining us.
And Randy, very interestingly, she has a very cool...
Experiments, how are you?
Good, how are you?
Experience you're gonna have with me, because we're gonna talk about baking soda.
Oh, good.
So you have baking soda, I'm sure you have it for a couple purposes.
Absolutely, I have a lot of baking soda in the house.
What do you like to use it for?
I bake, I'm known as the cookie lady.
You are?
I am.
What's your favorite cookie?
Chocolate chip is my favorite.
Tastes so good when they melt in your mouth with those chocolates.
It's the only way to have it.
Well, crispy, but gooey on the inside.
Yes, exactly.
It's the way to have it.
My daughter Daphne, she takes the pen and she bangs it on the...
Is that one of your tricks?
No.
And when it's halfway done, she bangs them.
That's where they get crisper, but the inside still stays gooey the way you want it to be.
That's smart.
Now, let's get back to the topic.
A little trick.
A little trick.
So, baking soda.
It can be used for many, many reasons.
There's all these things, mouthwash, bug bites, sunburn, dandruff.
If you use the products that might be made for these different conditions, it will cost you $231.
A lot of money.
So the question then becomes, what can we do with baking soda?
And I'll give you one example that I think everyone should be thinking about.
We can actually use it as a mouthwash.
So you take a jar of any kind you like, I use bell jars today, and then mix in roughly, with every cup of water, about one teaspoonful of baking soda.
Then take yours, I'll take mine, and you mix it up like this.
You mix it up like that, and then all you gotta do is swish, gargle, and spit.
And if you happen to swallow some, it's not that bad for you, because it's just salt water.
Give it a shot.
We'll gargle it together.
Mmm!
Don't break.
Why?
You said spit.
You spit on national television.
That's so bad.
You said I could.
You got to love our audience.
So, it neutralizes the bad breath.
It tastes so comfortable.
It doesn't taste medicine-y.
No, that was okay.
And there's no more price here.
What do you think baking soda box this size costs?
Well, that's a big box.
Yeah.
Got to be $3?
Yeah.
It's a dollar.
It's a buck.
One buck.
That's a big buck.
That's a $230 savings.
I could do that.
Yeah.
I mean, I got to say, when I hear these things and I realize all the different things that mineral oil or baking soda or what we're going to talk about next can do, this is how we should be spending our money to get healthy.
That's beautiful.
Thank you very much.
Love you.
Take care.
No more spitting.
I won't spit.
Next, Benovia is here with a final health bargain.
It's tea bags.
How are you?
How are you?
Do you love tea?
I love tea.
What kind do you like the most?
Okay, so I have a tea drawer.
So yeah, like in my house, it's a drawer and it's filled with different kinds of tea.
So I have mango tea, I have pineapple tea, I like my tea with a lot of ginger and honey.
Oh, I like juju and tea.
And honey's the best.
Is it natural honey?
Of course.
Don't let it pasteurize it.
All right.
So tea bags are more than just about things you can drink.
It's also a way of soothing your body because it has many medicinal benefits.
So I put a list up here starting with razor burns and dry hair and blisters, pink eye, plantar warts, blotchy skin, lots of things they can help you with.
And I'm going to give you just one example.
If you bought products for each of these problems, it would cost you $189.
Let's focus on one big problem that sometimes people spend $189 on by itself.
And it's those big swollen eyes like I get sometimes and many of us get.
So I've asked the first row of the audience, go ahead, get a little experiment here.
If you don't mind, give it a shot.
Put that on your eyes.
And then lean back.
Ah, look how relaxing and comfortable they are.
What do you think?
How's that?
It's pretty relaxing, yeah.
Relaxing.
Are you relaxed, sir?
Pretty good.
He's fell asleep already.
But what we want to do is create this atmosphere, because I think this actually is a wonderful way of demonstrating.
It's relaxing, and additionally, it can do other things, because if you brew the tea, which is what you want to do with these, then put the bags in the fridge or the freezer for about 20 minutes, not too long, squeeze out any liquid that's left behind, and then lay on your back, put those bags on your eyes for about 15 minutes, and you're going to feel wonderfully relaxed.
The coolness and the caffeine both help by constricting the blood vessels, and they reduce the puffiness in any dark circles that you may have.
So what do you think about that?
I think that's awesome.
I use tea as a rinse for my hair, so I'm always looking for other...
That's pretty impressive hair to rinse.
How long does that take?
May I touch your hair?
You can...
Dr. Oz.
I'm asking.
Try to be polite.
Because you're Dr. Oz, you can touch my hair, but nobody else.
Thank you.
Let me see.
I've always wanted to do this.
Look how...
This is fantastic.
It really is.
That is fantastic.
Alright, you and Obi with the good hair, what do you think a teabag, not the whole box, what do you think a teabag costs in order to get this kind of relaxation, spa treatment, eyes looking fantastic?
Let's see, a box of 24 divided by, no, I don't know, 19 cents?
You're very close.
A dime.
Think about that.
A dime.
10 cents for all the benefits.
You did a fantastic job.
In fact, all of my guests today did a great job.

If you're looking for 99 ways to better your health, today's a show for you.
Something I know women struggle with all the time is how to look your best in a pair of jeans.
And guess what?
The tricks are different for different body types.
So now, it's 99 tricks to look better in a pair of jeans that every woman can use.
And here help us out is style expert known as the Curvinista, Denise Caldwell.
How are you?
Thank you.
All right, let's get to it.
Jeans.
Jeans.
I see, and we're going to talk to some of the members of the audience about this.
Why is this such a problem for so many women?
Absolutely.
You know what?
Ultimately, you just want to feel good.
If you feel good, you know, you're going to do good out in the world.
And jeans are just like swimsuits.
It's kind of difficult sometimes when you're trying them on.
I always say, get in that fitting room, try things on, because nowadays, denims, there's so many washes.
There's so many, you know, There's bell bottoms.
There's still straight leg.
There's so many options.
You really want to find out the best ones for your body.
So we're going to put some of our guests in the dressing room over there in a second.
We're going to start off with one little rule here.
Everyone's carrying a back pocket of a jean.
It's labeled 1 through 99. Let me see all your numbers.
You see, a lot of folks want advice on jeans.
Jeans trick number one is women who say they carry their weight in their bellies.
Where's Catherine with jean number one?
There she is.
Come on up, Catherine.
Come join us.
Dressed very beautifully.
Thanks for being here.
Thank you.
So, let's talk about jeans a tiny bit.
And again, I want to hear from your perspective.
I didn't know they were like fit in bathing suits.
What makes it so difficult for you to find a pair of jeans?
Well, I just had a baby 20 years ago.
Oh!
And I have the belly fat still, unfortunately.
It's a little genetic, too.
My mom had that belly fat.
But every time I try to get a pair of jeans, it's tight in the belly, which pulls in the back.
And also, I get this awful muffin top.
It's not the most fun thing for me to do with shopping.
And not an uncommon issue, either.
For 20 years, you've been carrying it around with the baby.
So flip around your card.
Card number one, reveal the tip is to choose high-rise jeans.
Yes.
Why is that the case?
Why do women with big bellies need to have high-rises to help themselves?
Okay, let's just talk about women in general first.
If you're over 25, these low-rise jeans have got to go.
It's not age-appropriate.
Over 25. Over 25, you shouldn't wear low-rise.
And also, you know what?
Mid-rise can be a problem for you, too.
That's why I say a high-waisted jean, because when you have a belly, almost like I'm the style doctor here, it's going to dissect you a little bit.
So when you bring it up over there, it kind of gives you that instant tummy tuck.
And who doesn't want that without the surgery?
That's true.
So Catherine, Denise found a pair of high-rise jeans.
Okay.
These things might work for you.
Okay.
Will you give it a shot?
Awesome.
Head over to the dressing room number one over there.
Good luck.
Let's see what she does with that.
Now, while Catherine's enjoying herself over there, we're going to get the jean trick number two.
It's for women who say they carry weight in their hips and their thighs.
Who here is in that category?
Let me say some hands, hips and thighs.
All right.
Who's got jean number two, jean pocket number two?
Come on down.
Claudine, how are you?
How are you?
So, Claudine, if you don't mind, first of all, thank you for being here.
Thank you.
All right, so let me see number two.
Flip it around and see the trick.
It is embrace stretch.
Yes, stretch.
Yes.
Sometimes women, you know, they can get a little fearful of having clothing that sticks to your body.
What you want to do is basically have something that's going to give you a good silhouette.
So there's three components that you should have.
And so basically, with this stretch denim, you want to have lycra, spandex, and polyester.
You want to have those three components in your denim because it's basically going to give you a sculpting, you know, silhouette with your body.
And it actually, like, it gives you a good bootay.
Oh, a bootay.
Yes.
And then it goes down to the hips and the thighs and her calves.
You know, it can breathe.
You want clothing that moves with you.
When you walk, you want it to walk.
You don't want that stiff denim.
So when you sit down, you get that gaping in the back.
It actually curves to your silhouette, it curves to your body, and it gives you a nice, you know...
Is it gaping, the plumber's crack?
Is that the same thing for women?
It is.
It is.
And they have men's stretch jeans, too.
They do?
They don't have to be super skinny.
They just have a little movement in them.
You want, when you sit down, you don't want that fear of it busting loose.
No.
You want it to, like you're moving, you want it to move.
You want that booty move.
Yeah, just shake it.
Yeah.
Thank you very much.
Thank you, man.
All right.
Catherine, how you doing over there, Tigers?
Good.
You making progress?
Yep.
Alright, we're getting ready.
Okay.
We'll get one more before we come back to Katherine.
This is a jean trick for women who say they carry their weight all over.
Where's Stormy?
In jean pocket number three.
There she is.
That is one heck of a name, Stormy.
Thank you.
Any story behind that?
Was it a drink?
Was it a stormy night?
No, my parents just, they didn't have a name, and they heard the name Stormy before, and my dad was like, what's that name?
It's probably the weather report.
Yes.
It's going to be Stormy tonight.
Yes!
All right, so you got tip number three.
Yes.
You're going to reveal it?
Yes.
It is to pick...
The darkest colored jean possible.
So you're wearing dark colored jeans, right?
Yes.
Now, I also have a picture of the jeans you normally wear.
Can I show them?
Sure.
There you are.
Those are about the lightest jeans I think you can get.
Yes.
Just take it away.
What should we do?
You know, it's a common factor, but if you want to slenderize all over, if you want to slenderize from the top to the bottom, go with a darker jean.
Do you like it?
I love them.
They're my new jeans.
I love them, too.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
All right, Katherine, we're waiting for you.
Are you ready for Katherine?
Drum roll.
Come on out with your new look.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Come on next to me over here.
Let me get you close to me.
So I've got a before and after, if that's okay.
So here's the before and after comparison.
You can just look out to that camera right there.
We'll see the one that looks good on you.
Oh, my goodness.
That's a big difference.
What do you think about them?
I love them.
Aren't they cool?
Yes, yes.
So besides being a high rise, why are these so flattering?
Let me just say, Catherine is a plus size woman.
And sometimes when you think about plus size clothing, you need to go to those stores.
So I took her to Ashley Stewart and we got a nice trouser denim.
It's an instant 10 pound slimmer, as you can see from the before to the after now.
Are you happy?
Yes, very.
So I was.
Thank you.
I'm so happy you guys came today.
All right.
Thanks to Denise and all my guests for the full list of nine-ounce ways to look better in jeans and other tricky clothing.

We've been giving you 99 new ways to do all kinds of things now.
Have you been keeping track of all of them?
I know it's hard to do, but it's why we're all on the website for you.
But now we have a 99 Exceptional Ways episode to cook an egg.
We have a Cuevos way beyond breakfast.
And to show us how, please welcome a celebrity chef and New York Times bestselling author, Rock with the Spirit. - You're lifting up great. - I love that we're dressing the same together now.
We're wearing matching outfits.
We just spent all our time together.
Eggs, not just for breakfast anymore.
Are you kidding?
I'm Italian.
We use eggs breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks.
We use eggs for everything.
We make shoes out of eggs.
We make clothing out of eggs.
Italians exploit eggs beautifully.
And we've come up with super interesting ways.
I bet you they'll be better than every other one of your 99 lists.
Let's get to it.
I love the challenge.
All right, the first one, I didn't think this was possible.
Rocco says we can actually replace bread.
Yes.
Replace bread with eggs.
Impossible.
Yes, you can make a high-protein bread.
I do this for my gluten-free clients.
So all you have to do is whip some egg whites.
Should I tickle it like this?
No, you don't want to tickle it.
You want to beat the heck out of it.
Beat the heck out of it.
A little more wrists, I'm told.
Yeah, you want to put a little air into there.
God, I'm good at this.
So now mix that into there and keep whisking.
Yep, good.
Now mix those together.
It's like a card trick.
It's kind of like a card trick.
Now you want to fold gentle, gentle, gentle.
Gentle.
Yeah.
This is baking powder for a little leavening.
There was salt in mine, right?
Yeah, there was a little salt in there, right?
I make this with sweet potatoes as well for my gluten-free clients who want burger buns or breakfast sandwich buns.
And then you just spread it out.
And when it cooks, it'll rise.
And then you cut it up?
Yeah, put it in a toaster oven.
Is this it?
About 10 minutes, and this is it.
And this is a burger we made with the egg bread.
Oh, Rocco, it's really good.
Light, delicious.
I mean, really, really good.
All right, next big one is an exceptional way of using eggs.
You can sneak extra protein into meat which already has protein.
Yeah, this is basically a protein ball.
It's like a tennis ball but made out of protein.
So I think you should just cut it in half and let people see what's inside.
It's 100% turkey.
You form a turkey patty.
Are you ready?
About four inches in diameter.
Look at that.
Look at that.
You put a hard-boiled egg inside, and then you fold the patty around it, and you bake it or fry it any way you like.
And we're talking about 30, 40 grams of protein in one of these, depending on the size of the egg or the size of the amount of turkey.
Turkey is the leanest of all poultry and has the highest protein density per ounce.
Again, it's a hard-boiled egg that you had before.
Yes.
I'm sure if you wanted to, you could figure out a way to cook the egg inside.
Life's hard enough as it is.
Yeah, you're right.
Let's not be too ambitious.
It's like trying to make love in a hammock.
It's impossible to do.
Some might say.
Think about that.
I remember a time...
I think you just have to be in Hawaii and have a lot of Mai Tais and not care who sees it.
That's exactly who falls.
Alright, next we're going to turn eggs into a protein-packed dip.
This, of all the things we talked about today, might be the most practical.
Take it away.
So, everyone loves deviled eggs.
Everyone's got their own recipe.
We're basically going to turn deviled eggs into a dip.
These are hard-boiled eggs, as you can see.
This is mayo.
Non-GMO mayo.
Just mayo.
Pepper.
Paprika.
Thank you.
You're a good assistant.
Wow.
Maybe you should have been on the other side of the surgery.
I could have been a sous chef.
Or a surgeon's assistant.
All right.
A little mustard.
Okay.
So, you know, you basically mix it together like that and add some extra egg whites for protein, for even more protein.
It looks like this?
Looks like that, yeah.
It's a delicious, really protein-packed dip.
And if you want to supplement the yogurt for mayonnaise, you can remove a lot of the fat.
At the break, we'll give to the audience, because you guys are going to storm this stage.
If you don't, you're going to love this.
So you can make veggies the big surprise, the big hit at your next meal, no matter what.
Speaking of next meal, next gatherings, I want you to talk about what you're doing to make it a little easier for folks to get food like this.
A whole new way to do it.
Yes, so I have launched Cook Your Butt Off, a completely organic Home meal kits.
They are gluten-free.
They're calorie-corrected.
They're dairy-free and sugar-free.
But I'm also forming a coalition with the top ten food security charities.

I hope.
To get meals to people who are food insecure.
So for every hundred kits you buy, we're going to donate six meals to food charities.
God bless you, dear.
Rock and roll!

All new Oz.
That's coming up on Monday.
The entire show had been revealing 99 ways to improve your health, wealth, and all-around self.
But why the number 99?
Let's go through the 99 reasons that I picked the number 99. You ready for these?
First, no, you guys are too polite.
I'm just kidding.
In the Chinese culture, the number 99 represents longevity.
Which I want for all of you to enjoy.
So maybe that's the real method to my madness.
It's all about living a little longer and better.
So in case you missed it, listen up for the best of the 99 tips.
First we gave you 99 of the biggest health bargains and baking soda is my favorite.
You can do all these things.
It can be a mouthwash, sunburn solution, bug bites, dandruff.
And if you bought a product for each of those complaints, you have to spend about $231.
Now, just a dollar, one buck is all this cost.
Making soda can be just as huge a bonus to your bank account as to your health.
Next, we talked about exceptional ways to use my favorite breakfast protein beyond breakfast.
This is what they do apparently in Italy, according to Rocco Dispirito, who joined us today.
The first idea I loved a lot was using it as a bread replacement.
You can cut the carbs by combining eggs, Greek yogurt, a pinch of salt, and baking powder, and then bake it at around 300 degrees for 25 minutes.
This egg-cellent recipe, again created by Rocco, along with a lot of other egg-citing creations, are all on DrRoz.com.
We can find all the 99 lists, including 99 tricks to look better in jeans, no matter what your shape or size.
Now, one brave woman tested that in our dressing room live on the show, and here's the difference.
Look at it, folks.
I think she looks beautiful.
With or without those jeans, I think she feels good in the new ones we got on.
And next, we've got Kathie Lee and Hoda who walk us through some of the 99 uses for wine.
So to end the show, I'm going to end up...
By kicking up my feet and taking a relaxing foot bath.
This is a new trend.
It's happening all over the country at spas.
It's called vinotherapy.
And some argue that the polyphenols that come from the skin and the seeds of the red wine, grapes, are beneficial to your skin, especially dry, cracked feet.
You probably can't drink this wine anymore, but they usually have extra wine where you're having these treatments, so I will soak to that.
