I wish he would have answered my question, which is why is it that if CNN truly makes mistakes, which by the way, there's no way in heck that it's all mistakes.

What was the response like from your fellow students after these videos went viral, and what has it been like for you guys on campus since?

Well, you know, the truth is, it has, you know, of course, always been tough, as you might imagine, to be a conservative on campus.
It is so suffocating, the pressure to be a member of the radical leftist agenda followers.
But we have always valued finding truth and committing to the pursuit of justice over fitting in.
That will be more fulfilling any day of the week.
So that was what we were doing before this whole thing went down.
So we, Daniel and I, went in to ask a question and maybe write an article about what these individuals said.
And it blew up on Twitter, thank goodness, because we asked these very simple questions, which is basically, why are you fake news?
And they couldn't answer.
They completely fell apart.
We're two college freshmen.
It shouldn't be that hard. We're not trying to trick them or anything.
These questions are at face value.
So the funny thing is, people actually kind of knew us beforehand, too.
We write for a publication called The Chicago Thinker.
It is the University of Chicago's premier publication.
I believe it's the biggest conservative college paper in the country.
We pride ourselves by being a bunch of real human beings in a sea of fakes, So we do our best to sort of spread truth from a conservative perspective.
And so we did that, and you receive a lot of scrutiny on a campus like this prior to an event.
But I have to give people credit at this university because I have had a lot of people come to me, and Daniel has had the same, and say, you know, you guys, I really don't respect usually what the Chicago thinker writes, but you guys asked those questions and they were boss.
Those questions were awesome.
They were pure journalism.
They were fair. Because I hate those corporate Democrats, even though I'm a leftist.
And I really commend you guys.
So I really have to give the leftist credit at our school for sort of standing up and telling us this.
Of course, not everyone has been happy.
You know, I get screenshots from my friends, from other people who are, frankly, kind of frustrated with what we're doing.
They will never stop being slaves to the regime.
But as for, you know, I think there's a lot of hope for a lot of people.
And so I have to say that the response for these questions in particular has been outstandingly positive.
And I mean, talk about, too, the irony of this symposium or whatever it's called.
They say, oh, it's combating disinformation.

So in the span of three days, we have Anna Applebaum crying.
We have, oh, and also she blocked us on Twitter.
I forgot to say that. And Obama has blocked us on Twitter, a bunch of kids.
So these media elites, these great leaders, fear a bunch of kids, a bunch of real human beings.
And we are now the purveyors of this information, not these people who lied about Trump for four years, who spread this information constantly in the news.
A bunch of kids are spreaders of this information.
Well, what you guys have done is you've filled a void of Because we all know that liberal activists are all over college campuses.
I mean, it's almost like par for the course.
Not even to necessarily say that what you're doing is activism, but you're putting yourselves out there as truth speakers, conservatives politically, and that's a void that needs filling on campus.
And that's what I'm saying is people need to learn this lesson.
When you fill that void that needs filling, you're going to be empowered.

Oh my gosh, Owen, you know, ever since the 2016 election, I was in eighth grade at the time, and people didn't really understand it.
I'm from Southern California. I went to public school in Southern California, so you can kind of imagine the climate there.
It was hard to speak out and to speak freely about my beliefs at that time, but watching you, watching all kinds of conservative thinkers, it really just empowered me to be bold and stay true to myself back then.
When I came to the University of Chicago, I met the first base people that I ever met in my life in the Chicago Thinker.
Those people are so wonderful.
They're the best people that I've ever met.
And so we have really empowered each other to stand tall, stand strong, and fight for justice in this sea of Frankly, globalists.
A lot of these people, their mommy and daddy, are paying full tuition for them and they run things.
They run the world. They're elites. So we have to be immersed within this crowd of people and still stand true to ourselves and to our values.
So that was always the case prior to this event.
But now, with the kind of coverage this thing has gotten, even taking myself out of the equation, I think that this has been so empowering.
For a lot of young conservatives.
So if you're a young person, you're watching this, just know that even if you are the only person at your high school who believes in the things you do, like I was, you can be strong and you can get through it.
And then you can seriously make a difference just like I have.

You're very mature for your age, understanding that, hey, you know what?
This is a small time frame.
I'm in here. People caring about my politics in college.
There's a bigger world out there.
