| We've got all kinds of stuff developing in the news, obviously, too, with Trump saying that Obama illegally spied on him. | ||

| It's not the first time the President has said the words treason when it comes to the Obama administration, but he's tripled down on them now. | ||
| This is a pretty amazing time, I would say, not just to be an American, but I would imagine that there's a lot of chatter going on the hallways of these veterans groups as well. | ||
| So what are the opinions of the groups that you're involved with and all the activism that you're doing? | ||
| Are they on the president's side right now? | ||
| Do they agree that Obama was committing treason, trying to keep Trump from getting in office, illegally spying on him? | ||

Well, I think a lot of it comes down to, especially the veterans that I've talked to, is that things that we've seen that happen to the current sitting president is kind of atrocious. | |
| As far as treason goes, I mean, we can go back the last... | ||
| Eight years or so and just pick off politicians who've committed treason against this country and the American people. | ||
| A lot of veterans are seeing that, especially the ones who are just coming back. | ||
| And it's really becoming kind of an issue for us because, you know, we leave one spot and we're fighting this horrific war and then we come back and it's even worse here on the home front. | ||
| Well, you know, that's pretty powerful what you just said and I think everybody kind of knows that too. | ||
| And I mean, we wonder how Nancy Pelosi makes $200 million serving in Congress. | ||
| We wonder how we have a wide open border that the U.S. taxpayers have to pay for, you know, anybody who wants to cross over the southern border illegally to come here and get food and shelter or whatever. | ||
| And then also we're told we're bad at the same time for doing it. | ||
| And like you said, it's kind of a shock, I think, when people come back from overseas to see this going on. | ||
| So it's kind of been a trend. | ||
| Maybe it just got so out of control under the Obama administration, but I think that's the truth. | ||
| The truth is that there's been treason against this country going on for a long time, and it's just reached a head. | ||

| I've, you know, a lot of veterans, everything that we deal with on a daily basis. | ||
| you know, this just adds stuff on top of us. | ||
| And a lot of people are like, oh, well, what do you think about this? | ||
| What do you think about that? And it's just like, well, as far as myself, and when I speak for myself, I'm a big supporter of the Bill of Rights. | ||
| The first 10 amendments are the greatest written things ever in this country. | ||
| And a lot of what I believe personally is when we come back and we see these politicians that are corrupt, And grossly negligent and have no idea what they're doing. | ||
| They're only concerned about filling their pockets and making themselves look good. | ||
| It kind of makes us veterans like, what are we doing this for? | ||
| When all we have is politicians and movie stars and all these people telling, you have to think this way, you have to do this and you have to do that because if you don't then you're just a terrible person and you deserve whatever you get. | ||
| And us veterans Don't want to deal with that. | ||
| Why is it worse here amongst ourselves than it is most of the third world undeveloped countries that we get deployed to? | ||
| And it's kind of sickening. | ||
| Yeah, and this is actually kind of a perfect segue, unintentionally here, into what you're doing with your Veterans Walk for Suicide Awareness coming up on Veterans Day and the Sunday before. | ||
| Because a lot of times when we talk about Veterans Suicide and PTSD, we're really thinking about the... | ||
| The graphic images you may see in combat or the seriousness of some of the missions you may engage in or, you know, at the end of the day, having to pull the trigger on a mission. | ||
| And people tend to think about that, which for some people may be the toughest thing. | ||
| For some people, you know, maybe not. | ||
| For some people, like you said, the tough thing might be, hey, I did my time. | ||
| I did my tours. | ||
| I did my job. But when I come back and I see all this, you know, chaos on the streets, I got... | ||
| I mean, we don't have to play all the videos. | ||
| I mean, protests, homeless people out of control, there's just total chaos, free speech under attack. | ||
| There's a psychological war within. | ||
| It's like you said, well, I went over here and served for this country, but now I come back and I'm seeing that the Bill of Rights is under attack here domestically? | ||
| So I would imagine that there's a lot of trauma psychologically... | ||
| Dealing with that internal battle. | ||
| Do you deal with that? Is that part of what you talk about with your veterans walk for suicide awareness? | ||

Right. So a lot of things that the Department of Defense doesn't do, especially in the Department of the VA, when we get out, we aren't trained to be civilians. | |
| It's literally a three-day, four-day class on how to fill out resumes and off you go. | ||
| Here's a pat on the back. Thank you for your four years, six years, ten years, whatever service. | ||
| So a lot of us come out, we're kind of like doing the whole Ricky Bobby thing. | ||
| We don't really know what to do with our hands. | ||
| And then, you know, on top of everything that we've seen overseas, you know, we try to put it back behind us. | ||
| But when we're seeing Antifa and these goons in the street, you know, attacking regular citizens, it really does upset us because it's like, I want to do something so badly. | ||
| But I know the consequences here are a lot different than they were overseas, and my rules of engagement aren't here like they were over there. | ||
| So there's a lot of times where we have to bind our hands and kind of bite our tongues and just deal with it. | ||
| And a lot of that stuff really eats on us on top of everything else we have to deal with psychologically and mentally and emotionally and even physically, those who've lost limbs and so on and so forth. | ||
| And it compounds on top of us, and it becomes way too much to handle. | ||
| And everybody looks at veterans, it's like, well, you served in the war, you should be strong. | ||
| And it's just like, well, who's strong for those who have spent their entire life being strong? | ||
| And it's their time to be weak. | ||
| And a lot of times, it's veterans who are standing up for other veterans who've dedicated their lives to this country, to their service, to their brothers and sisters in arms. | ||
| And basically, that's what it is with this walk. | ||
| We're about to go to break here, but I think you say it's time for veterans to be weak, or I may be misphrasing, but I don't even think it's that. | ||
| I think that by your measurement of everything that you've been trained and just that's instilled in you, You're kind of told to be weak. | ||
| It's like, oh, here are these gangsters, these terrorists, running Rough Street on the streets of America, and you can't do anything about it. | ||
| So it's almost like, no, no, no, you have to be weak now. | ||
| And that's kind of what they're telling Americans. | ||
| And then the court comes out, and I don't know if you saw what happened to the Proud Boys in New York. | ||
| I don't know if you saw that story, the ones that engaged in the fight. | ||
| So Antifa comes up, starts a fight with these people, throws objects. | ||
| The Proud Boys defend themselves, whoop their ass. | ||
| And then they end up in jail for four years. | ||
| And again, all they did was defend themselves. | ||
| So let's talk about this on the other side with Ryan Carey with what's going on with Antifa. | ||

| And it's getting so real now with everybody realizing what Obama did illegally spying on Trump. | ||
| And I'm seeing all this stuff that's going totally viral now from Tom Fitton, Sebastian Gorka. | ||

| But my point is, okay, so if they've got the green light to go forward with this now, and if they're putting it out on Fox and Turning Point and everywhere that's still allowed to exist, the dam is really breaking now. | ||

| You know, flow of water that only the select few know about and take advantage of. | ||
| And maybe they'll tell some people that they feel comfortable talking to. | ||
| But the dam is really breaking now. | ||

| The powers that be behind Obama and Hillary Clinton got something up their sleeve because they're not going to go quietly into this dark night. | ||

| But we were getting into some of the psychological fights that veterans endure when they do come back home. | ||
| Ryan, feel free to comment on what I just said, or what I'd like to continue with you on is the psychological struggle there is for some veterans when they come back home. | ||
| I think that there's two things that majorly play into this, but I want to hear your take on this. | ||
| That's one which we touched about a little bit, which is violent protesters in the streets, by my view, terrorists, Antifa. | ||
| I think that they're domestic terrorists. | ||
| Roaming the streets, getting away with violence. | ||
| And then the other aspect, which is, you know, never getting to claim victory in these wars and seemingly never-ending wars in the Middle East where the president is finally trying to declare victory, say, hey, we had a victory over ISIS here. | ||
| Let's move out. Hey, let's have a victory here. | ||
| Let's move out. And now you see the media saying, the same media that used to be anti-war saying, oh no, no, no, we can't move out now. | ||
| And so I would imagine that that is a little internal struggle that goes on too. | ||
| So just with all that that I just put on the table, what do you make though of like ABC? Yeah, I know, you got a big buffet here. | ||

| So first, to talk about what you were saying as far as the politicians go, and like the veterans, everybody should understand this. | ||
| When a service member takes their oath to join service, nowhere in there does it say we will defend the politicians of the United States of America. | ||
| We are there to defend against the enemies, foreign and domestic. | ||
| So therefore, if the American military or the American population finds that these politicians are now enemies of our great country, then we will use whatever means necessary to take care of that and replace that with something better. | ||
| I was asked a while ago, what would happen if you had 2 million people walking up on Capitol Hill and you, as a service member, We're on the stairs guarding this, you know, and they were saying, we're here to change the government. | ||
| Me, personally, and I know a lot of other veterans and service members, when we signed up to do our job, was defend the Constitution of the United States of America and its people. | ||
| Therefore, you know, I would move out of the way and let the people change the government how they see fit to better this country and its direction. | ||
| Now, as far as Antifa goes and the things that ABC News and this so-called Civil War. | ||
| First of all, that's not something anybody wants. | ||
| It's not something that the veterans want. | ||
| But understand that we will fight for this country. | ||
| We will fight for its people. | ||
| We will defend the Constitution to our death without question and without any kind of hesitation. | ||
| So as long as people understand that, be wary of the fights you're willing to pick because chances are you're not going to win. | ||
| So, moving on from that, I think, you know, ABC is, a lot of these news broadcasting stations and companies are really kind of grasping now that the president has really sunk his claws into this economy, into this country, and it's really turning around, and it's kind of undoing a lot of the things that are just atrocious that we've found that didn't work, like the Obamacare didn't work, and, you know, it cost... | ||
| More money to make the Obamacare website work than it would have caused to put the wall up. | ||
| And it's kind of ridiculous and everybody focuses on the wrong thing. | ||
| It's about protecting America and doing what we can for each other here. | ||
| Then we can worry about everybody else out in the big blue marble that we live on. | ||
| And I think that's kind of just, you know, just in a general statement how most Americans feel. | ||
| Hey, you know, I don't know about the Kurds. | ||
| I don't know what goes on in northern Syria. | ||
| Are they our allies? | ||
| Yeah. Have they been entrenched in different wars that combat troops have been in? | ||
| Yeah, but again, most Americans are sitting here saying, you know, I got potholes in my street. | ||
| My kid's school is not running well. | ||
| And so there's all these different issues. | ||
| And so the president comes along and says, you know what? | ||
| I'm hearing from the American people. | ||
| I'm not hearing about the Kurds. | ||
| I'm hearing about their schools. | ||
| I'm hearing about their roads. | ||
| I'm hearing about their doctors. | ||
| I'm hearing about their health care. | ||
| I'm hearing about illegal immigration. | ||
| I'm hearing about crime. So we're going to focus on that. | ||
| And you know what? | ||
| I promised that I'd end these wars in the Middle East. | ||
| So we're going to try to focus on that, too. | ||
| And then there's the media to demonize him for that, the same media that used to be anti-war. | ||
| So it's really incredible to kind of see how whatever move the president makes... | ||
| People just immediately, like, it's almost like they raised the flag of anti-Americanism to just go after the president. | ||
| Like, he can't say lynching. | ||
| All these Democrats said lynching, you know, back in the 90s when Bill Clinton was under an impeachment process. | ||
| So it's kind of been a blessing, don't you think, almost in a way where, you know, Trump has just maybe unwittingly forced these people to show what phonies they are. | ||

| And it's just like, it's in the dictionary. | ||
| If it's in the dictionary, you can say it. | ||
| It's not that big of a deal. | ||

| How long have you been doing this? | ||
| Where does it go down? | ||

So basically what it is, it's a 60-mile over two-day walk that I do on November 10th on Marine Corps birthday and then finish up on Veterans Day. | |
| And then usually I've changed the route a couple times, but the majority of the time it's gone from downtown Cleveland to the Canton McKinley Monument, where it's this huge monument and steps for President McKinley. | ||
| I've been doing it. This will be my seventh year of Now, and so it'll be a total of 420 miles. | ||
| So I'm kind of excited to keep this rolling as long as the knees hold up. | ||
| But basically, it came about for an idea some guys have served with did something kind of similar on the West Coast. | ||
| And to me, I really hit home with a lot of guys that I knew they had committed suicide. | ||
| And The reason why I do it over Veterans Day is because there's a lot of us out there who haven't made that choice yet, that are teetering with the gun in their hand or the needle in their hand or the bottle to their mouth, and they're still clinging to hope. | ||
| And I just wanted to let everybody know that when I do this walk, every mile that I do is to try and raise as much hope as I can for these soldiers and Marines and sailors and airmen. | ||
| Who have given everything that they have and now have nothing. | ||
| And they're struggling so hard and they're not alone in this fight. | ||
| And I will keep doing this until either the 22 a day stops or my legs give out. | ||
| Well, I had someone tell me once, Ryan, and this could be an individual case, but I wouldn't imagine so. | ||
| He said, you know, Owen, I've had more friends from my military days die from suicide in America than overseas. | ||
| And that's not something you would ever think about. | ||

Right. And it's an absolute tragedy. | |
| And like I said, it's... | ||
| We're overseas. We're expected to be these monumental men and women or complete juggernauts for our country, and we just steamroll over everything and nothing affects us. | ||
| But when we come back, and what I was saying earlier is when we're strong for so long that when it's our time to kind of step back and relax and just let everything process, you know, that's kind of like our weakened state. | ||
| But then everybody looks at you, well, why are you going through this? | ||
| I don't understand. It doesn't make sense. | ||
| Why is this affecting you? | ||
| You should be all right. You should get over it. | ||
| That's all right. There's so many questions and statements that people make to us, and it's not about you. | ||
| It's not about what you think or what you understand. | ||
| It's for us to process all these millions of thoughts and ideas that we have going on in our head after we get back, that we just kind of are just defragmenting everything and kind of putting it in place. | ||
| So it's ignorant to say, Well, you should just get over it, this, that, and the other. | ||
| And that's really why I do the walk, because I will not get over it. | ||
| I will not forget the things that I've had to do or I've chosen to do and I've seen. | ||
| And I share my story with everybody I come across because I want them to be well-informed. | ||
| Like, this is what we do. | ||
| This is what I signed up for you, you know, to protect you and defend this great country. | ||

How's it going, Ryan? Just wanted to tell you guys, I mean, they need to go through the VA and clean house because I went there the other day and there's people saying, oh, I have no affiliation to the military. | |
| And I remember when I went in and back in the 90s, they were talking about if you're a veteran, you can get a job within the VA. And it's like they totally lost that. | ||
| And I remember there was a lady I saw on Twitter Saying that people on the suicide prevention hotline put her on hold and just stopped talking to her. | ||
| And just left her on hold. | ||
| And I actually reached out to this lady and gave her my number and said, call me anytime. | ||
| They need to do something about the VA. And it was totally nuts to me when I heard Obama say that the VA was 80% fixed. | ||
| Well, I've heard that since Trump got in office, at least it's gotten better in some cases, but we've also heard some of the horror cases as well. | ||
| But your point is still true. | ||
| Yeah, if you want government-run healthcare, check out a VA. Ryan, what's been your experience with the VA? Good, bad, in between? | ||

| As many times as I've been to the VA to go get help, whether it's through group counseling or just singular therapy with a one-on-one therapist or counselor, I see all these veterans out there who are struggling so badly To just get seen. | ||
| And one instance, I remember I walked into Wade Park, which is here in Cleveland, and it was phenomenal to see, even though there was about 40 or 50 veterans waiting to get seen, a lot of there was World War II vets and Korean War vets and Vietnam vets and so on and so forth, but they were all just sitting around joking and laughing, just like we would out in the field or in a battlefield or something, just to keep spirits high, because this is what we know how to do. | ||
| To me personally, I don't think that the VA will get fixed until Gary Sinise is in charge. | ||
| I think Gary Sinise, among all people I've ever heard of, has done more for veterans than... | ||
| So you would agree with Reed then that there needs to be new leadership at the VA? Absolutely. | ||

There needs to be a complete overhaul on the whole bureaucracy of federal employment and get rid of these people who are there that say, oh, I can't be fired or this can't happen because I'm protected by this. | |
| No. No. The only people who know veterans are veterans. | ||
| And veterans need to be in charge of taking care of veterans and not letting civilians who have no idea what they're doing try and tell us what we need and what we don't need. | ||
| And the President Trump is trying to loosen up some of these restrictions where veterans can only go to the VA and he's saying, hey, if you want to go see a private doctor or whatever doctor of your choice, holistic, whatever the case may be, you should be able to do that. | ||
