[00:00:01] Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. [00:00:10] Praise God for you and that endeavor. [00:00:13] However, algorithms are a thing. [00:00:16] Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing. [00:00:18] And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five star review. [00:00:31] Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend. [00:00:36] We hope you'll take the time to do so. [00:00:38] Thank you so much. [00:00:39] God bless. [00:00:42] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:47] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:52] We must recognize that love, according to God's standard, is a self-sacrificing love. [00:00:59] Jesus himself said this: Love. [00:01:01] Has no one greater than this that a man would lay down his life for his friends? [00:01:06] According to Jesus, love is costly, love is sacrifice. [00:01:12] True biblical love comes at the cost, if necessary, of your own life. [00:01:20] But here's the deal there are many people that, in God's common grace, image bearers, but unregenerate that is, human beings who are not Christians, they're not believers, but they still bear the image of the living God because all people have been created in his image and in his common grace rather than his. [00:01:36] Special saving grace. [00:01:37] They're not his children, they're not Christians, but in his common grace, simply being image bearers of the living God, there are unbelievers, unregenerate people that, in their heart of hearts, according to Romans chapter 8, they are hostile towards God. [00:01:49] Not just neutral, but they are rebelling against him. [00:01:52] They hate God and they go to war and make incredible sacrifices for their brothers in arms. [00:02:01] I mean, there is just story after story after story as we look through human history of people who hated God. [00:02:09] On theological terms, who were not followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, who were not born again, and yet were willing to care for others at the cost of their own life. [00:02:23] See, so biblical love, therefore, is even more than that. [00:02:28] We cannot define biblical love as a self-sacrificing love and stop there, because there are many throughout human history. [00:02:39] Who have paid the ultimate sacrifice of their very own lives and still did not model biblical love. [00:02:48] Biblical love is a caring commitment at the cost of self, even being willing to lay down your life, and it is committed toward a particular end, not just the person's physical and temporal preservation for the next 30, 40, 50 years. [00:03:11] But their eternal salvation and continued sanctification being formed more and more into the image of the Son. [00:03:21] Anything short of that is a failure at biblical love. [00:03:27] And we could even say one step further that biblical love is not just self sacrifice, being willing to lay down your physical life in the temporal sense, but the Apostle Paul says in Romans 9 that he would be willing to be eternally cut off. [00:03:46] For the sake of his kinsmen, his fellow Israelites, according to the flesh. [00:03:52] And I will confess to you, church, I don't know if I've ever loved like that. [00:03:59] I would be willing not just to die for someone I love, but to go to hell forever. [00:04:06] And all of this not just to preserve them for 30, 40, 50 years, but to preserve their very eternal soul and to shape them into the image of Christ. [00:04:19] Now that is love. [00:04:23] Set an example for the believers in love. [00:04:28] What a tall task. [00:04:30] Thanks so much for listening.
