NXR Podcast - DAILY TRUTH - The Christian Faith Aired: 2022-12-26 Duration: 07:50 === God Spoke in the Flesh (07:50) === [00:00:00] All right, listen, guys, I get it. [00:00:01] Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. [00:00:10] Praise God for you and that endeavor. [00:00:13] However, algorithms are a thing. [00:00:16] Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing. [00:00:18] And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five star review. [00:00:31] Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend. [00:00:36] We hope you'll take the time to do so. [00:00:38] Thank you so much. [00:00:39] God bless. [00:00:42] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:47] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:52] One of the wonderful things about the Christian faith is that it is a historical faith. [00:01:01] Actual, real events that took place in human history. [00:01:07] History. [00:01:08] It's a proclamation of good news. [00:01:11] The good news of something that God actually did, that God actually performed, real events. [00:01:21] The Christian faith is alive, yes, but it is also, before it is alive, how we must live, it is doctrine, what we must believe. [00:01:31] And before it is even doctrine, it is history. [00:01:36] The Christian faith begins with history. [00:01:38] It begins with an event. [00:01:40] It begins with something that God actually did. [00:01:45] And what we believe about this event, what God did, is doctrine. [00:01:49] And how we live in light of what we believe about this event is character and godliness, our life. [00:01:59] But it all begins with history. [00:02:02] It all begins with God doing something in His imminence. [00:02:08] In real time, in real human history, on this planet, something was manifest, seen in the flesh. [00:02:20] Someone's name was manifest. [00:02:24] His name is Jesus. [00:02:27] Jesus Christ is God revealed in the flesh. [00:02:30] And in John, the Gospel of John, chapter 1, verses 1 through 2, we find these words In the beginning was the Word, that is, the living Word. [00:02:42] Jesus. [00:02:43] And the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [00:02:48] But then just a little later in verse 14, John writes this And the Word became flesh and tabernacled, dwelt among us. [00:02:59] See, there are many religions which speak of appearances of gods, lowercase g, false gods. [00:03:08] However, only Christianity takes the position that The God who existed from all eternity and through whom all things were created actually became a human being. [00:03:22] As Saint Augustine said, He is divinity wrapped in flesh. [00:03:29] Jesus emptied himself, as it were, Philippians chapter 2, but he emptied himself not by subtraction, but rather by addition. [00:03:39] He did not empty himself of the divine nature, but rather he emptied himself. [00:03:44] By taking upon himself a second nature, the human nature, the divinity concealed in flesh. [00:03:57] Jesus, the God man, who in the beginning was with God and was God, and the word by which all things were created and even now are being held together, according to Colossians. [00:04:12] This Jesus took on flesh, was born in a manger. [00:04:19] This Jesus, as an infant, crying beneath the stars that he both created and And was presently sustaining. [00:04:32] This Jesus in flesh crying while in his divinity upholding sustaining galaxies. [00:04:44] This Jesus later hanging, bleeding out on a cross, that every single molecule and splinter of this cross is being fastened together by the same Jesus who's bleeding out upon it. [00:05:01] He was manifested in the flesh. [00:05:06] Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 through 3 says, Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets. [00:05:15] But in these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed the heir of all things, through whom also He created the world. [00:05:27] He, that is Jesus, is the radiance, the glory of God, and the exact imprint of Not similar, but the exact imprint of his nature, God's nature. [00:05:43] And he upholds the universe by the word of his power. [00:05:50] Jesus, in his divine nature, is not of a similar substance to the Father, but the same substance. [00:06:02] So that he can say with all confidence and truthfulness if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. [00:06:10] People must see God, and if they are to see God, they must see His Son, for He is the agency by which the Father in these last days continues to speak. [00:06:27] In the days of old, God spoke to us at many times and in many ways. [00:06:34] God spoke in His special revelation through dreams, through visions, through impressions. [00:06:43] God spoke in manifestations and theophanies. [00:06:47] God spoke with stars guiding and angels manifesting. [00:06:53] But in these last days, God has spoken to us in His final word, in His final revelation. [00:07:03] It is final because it is perfect. [00:07:07] In these last days, God has spoken to us through His Son. [00:07:12] And His Son still speaks to us today through the apostolic testimony of God. [00:07:18] Jesus contained in the scripture. [00:07:20] And these scriptures are still expounded to us today through the faithful preaching, both in life and in doctrine, of the body of Christ, that is, his church. [00:07:34] Thanks so much for listening. [00:07:35] But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor, take a moment, and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show. [00:07:42] This is undoubtedly the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content to as many people as possible. [00:07:50] Thanks so much.
