NXR Podcast - DAILY TRUTH - You Set A Table For Me In The Presence of My Enemies Aired: 2022-12-23 Duration: 07:03 === Vindicate Me Against My Enemies (07:03) === [00:00:00] All right, listen, guys, I get it. [00:00:01] Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. [00:00:10] Praise God for you and that endeavor. [00:00:13] However, algorithms are a thing. [00:00:16] Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing. [00:00:18] And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five star review. [00:00:31] Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend. [00:00:36] We hope you'll take the time to do so. [00:00:38] Thank you so much. [00:00:39] God bless. [00:00:42] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:47] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:52] Did you know that even now, as I am preaching God's word, that according to God's word, there are a host of people dressed in white. [00:01:05] Surrounding the throne of God, and that they cry out according to Revelation day and night how long, O Lord? [00:01:16] How long until you vindicate us? [00:01:21] Not just vindicate yourself, not just how long until you set the record straight in regards to your own glory. [00:01:31] That is first, that is ultimate. [00:01:35] But the Bible says that the martyrs, those who were killed for their faith and fidelity to Christ, they are dressed in white, surrounding the throne of God, crying out, How long, how long? [00:01:50] Until you set the record straight on our behalf, until you vindicate us. [00:01:58] Read the Psalms. [00:02:00] David, again and again, he doesn't just say, God, my enemies surround me, deliver me for your namesake. [00:02:07] He does say this. [00:02:09] And this again is always first and ultimate. [00:02:12] Don't miss that caveat. [00:02:13] First and ultimate. [00:02:16] But he also says, Vindicate me. [00:02:21] Not just vindicate yourself by delivering me from my enemies, but vindicate me. [00:02:29] One of the most well known Psalms when David says, You set a table for me. [00:02:38] In the presence of my enemies. [00:02:41] It's a beautiful picture, but I think we sometimes gloss over what all it actually entails. [00:02:49] It means that David is saying, I'm surrounded on all sides by those who seek to do me harm. [00:02:56] And they all think that they're the good guy. [00:02:58] Have you ever noticed that? [00:03:01] The bad guy never thinks that they're actually the bad guy. [00:03:05] The enemies of God or the enemies of God's people always think that they're virtuous. [00:03:12] It's not like there's a whole group of people attacking God's church saying, we know it's wrong. [00:03:19] We just enjoy being malicious. [00:03:24] The Pharisees thought that they were being zealous for God. [00:03:29] Paul the Apostle, he said, I was very zealous. [00:03:33] Literally, the phrase, he says, I was very zealous for God because I persecuted the church. [00:03:42] They're not malicious. [00:03:45] They're misguided. [00:03:47] That's not to say that malice doesn't exist in any form or in any place, but it does mean that by and large, most of the time, the people who are enemies of God and the people who are enemies of the servants of God believe that they're doing the right thing. [00:04:07] And so the enemies of David, as they surrounded him, they believed that they were on the right side of history. [00:04:15] Have you ever heard that phrase? [00:04:18] Brothers and sisters, stay true to the word of God and time will tell that you are on the right side of history. [00:04:24] You want to be right? [00:04:26] Be right and righteous. [00:04:28] That's all you got to do. [00:04:31] Put the enemies of God to shame by being right and righteous. [00:04:34] You want to be right and righteous? [00:04:37] Stay true to the word of God. [00:04:38] It's just a matter of time. [00:04:40] It's not if. [00:04:41] It's when. [00:04:44] It's when. [00:04:46] Always. [00:04:48] God's never wrong. [00:04:50] And as our enemies surround us on all sides, the Lord, He prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. [00:04:59] What does that convey? [00:05:00] It conveys a sweetness, it conveys an intimate communion. [00:05:08] It also conveys a public embarrassment of your enemies. [00:05:16] You have to include that. [00:05:20] David is saying, Vindicate me in the presence of. [00:05:23] Of my enemies, they think they're the good guys. [00:05:28] And God, I'm asking first and foremost that you vindicate yourself for your glory, for your name's sake, but secondarily, I'm also asking that you would vindicate me because you, the righteous God, display your righteousness by vindicating the righteous. [00:05:44] And although I am a man who is a sinner, I am also a man who has a heart after God. [00:05:54] And by the work of Jesus, not my own, you have imputed to me your very own righteousness. [00:06:01] And so, for your name's sake first, but also for my good second, vindicate me. [00:06:09] Put my enemies to shame. [00:06:12] You set a table for me in the presence of my enemies to give me peace where there should be fear and to put to shame those who seek to do me harm. [00:06:24] It is as though God is coming down from his throne. [00:06:28] To dine with David, to display, to prove unequivocally to everyone who surrounds him, I'm not on your side, I'm on his. [00:06:41] You're wrong, he's right. [00:06:44] I'm with him, not with you. [00:06:46] Thanks so much for listening. [00:06:48] But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor, take a moment, and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
