NXR Podcast - DAILY TRUTH - The Poison of Pride Aired: 2022-11-24 Duration: 08:01 === Imitate Me As I Follow Christ (04:34) === [00:00:00] Hey guys, real quick before we get started, I have a small request. [00:00:03] If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show, would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five star review? [00:00:09] This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible. [00:00:17] Thanks. [00:00:19] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:25] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:30] So, what are the purposes of God for elders to be spiritually mature? [00:00:36] Because elders, according to these three texts, are to set an example. [00:00:44] Elders should be able to say to the flock of God, imitate me as I imitate Christ. [00:00:49] Elders should be able to say to the flock of God, both in their preaching and in their lives, both in their doctrine and in their life, they should be able to say to the flock of God, you would do well to imitate. [00:01:04] Me as I imitate Christ. [00:01:05] You would do well to follow me as I follow Christ. [00:01:08] I'm not only trying to teach you the right doctrinal tenets in my message, but I'm also trying to live a life that puts these into practice so that you not only can hear and follow, but you can see and follow. [00:01:25] Part of the purpose of an elder being spiritually mature is because an elder is called by God to be an example. [00:01:33] An elder should be a step or two. [00:01:37] If not 10, but at least a step or two ahead of at least the majority of the congregation, because it is a great benefit to the people of God. [00:01:48] The reason we don't like the idea of someone in the church, pastors or whoever it might be, being more mature than somebody else is because we live in an egalitarian age. [00:01:59] One of the great enemies of the church is the enemy of egalitarianism. [00:02:03] And some of you are like, really? [00:02:05] Because I thought that you just devoted four weeks to that. [00:02:09] I thought surely we can now move on. [00:02:11] But what I want you to see is the overarching banner of egalitarianism has multiple expressions that fall underneath. [00:02:17] So, feminism is one expression of egalitarianism as it pertains to the relationship between men and women. [00:02:27] But egalitarianism still reigns supreme in the church, influenced by the culture in terms of not just the relationship between men and women, but elder and congregant. [00:02:38] See, there is much in your heart, if you don't actively seek to put it to death, that wants to say, uh uh, you're not better than me. [00:02:49] Well, why would it be the intention of God for an elder to be more sanctified than the members of their church? [00:02:57] Set the believers an example. [00:03:01] Imitate me as I imitate Christ. [00:03:04] Not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. [00:03:09] It is difficult, brothers and sisters, to set an example. [00:03:13] If you are not running the race as to win, this is something that should come back into our pulpits and come back into our doctrine as the people of God, a godly Christian competition. [00:03:27] Did you know that there is actually a sanctified competitive spirit? [00:03:31] Paul the Apostle does not say, I run and carefully pace myself as though to finish. [00:03:38] No, he says, I run as to win. [00:03:42] Follow me as I follow Christ, implying what? [00:03:44] A very charitable way of saying, I'm ahead of you. [00:03:51] And him saying, and it is my goal to beat you. [00:03:55] I'm running as to win. [00:03:57] I beat my body, my flesh, and make it my slave. [00:04:01] I throw off anything that hinders and so easily entangles so that I might run the race set before me, not just to finish, but to win. [00:04:09] There is a godly, a godly competitive spirit that's not rooted in pride and arrogance, but rather rooted in a zeal for the glory of God and that you might be a blessing and a benefit to those who can follow you as you follow Christ. [00:04:24] And the aversion in the heart of the congregant. [00:04:28] Against exactly what I am espousing is the spirit of egalitarianism and pride. === Funding The Postmillennialism Film (03:26) === [00:04:35] And I commend you to put it to death by grace. [00:04:37] All right, all right, all right. [00:04:38] Stop twisting my arm. [00:04:40] I know you want to hear the inside scoop. [00:04:42] Here it is the glorious vision of Right Response Ministries for the first half of next year, 2023. [00:04:49] We have not one, not two, but three massive endeavors that we will accomplish by the grace of God. [00:04:56] The first you already know about it's our Theonomy and Postmillennialism Conference. [00:05:01] May 5th, 6th, and 7th with James White, Joe Boot, Gary DeMar, Dale Partridge, and yours truly, Pastor Joel Webbin. [00:05:08] This is selling out incredibly fast. [00:05:10] By the time this commercial airs, you may not even be able to get a ticket. [00:05:15] I really don't know. [00:05:16] So don't waste another moment. [00:05:17] Go to RightResponseConference.com, RightResponseConference.com to join us for the Theonomy and Postmillennialism Conference next year. [00:05:26] Now, this is where you come in. [00:05:29] We need your help. [00:05:30] Our next two endeavors are number one, a documentary style film. [00:05:34] And number two, a brand new studio. [00:05:37] Both of these things are seeking to accomplish one primary goal, which is excellent, high quality, glorious Christian media. [00:05:48] We are tired of, as Christians, doing things poorly. [00:05:52] We've done our best with what we have, but by God's grace, we want to do even better. [00:05:57] This is not going to be just another video, this is not going to be a sermon or an interview or a podcast, but we're going to make a documentary style film and we're going to be hiring. [00:06:08] Nathan Anderson, the director of On Earth as It Is in Heaven, a very, very successful postmillennialism documentary that's on Amazon and YouTube, came out a couple years ago. [00:06:19] He's going to be flying in from Chile to help us direct this film. [00:06:23] And our documentary is going to be on postmillennialism and theonomy why it's biblically valid, why it's absolutely necessary, and why, by the grace of God, theonomy and postmillennialism are currently on the rise. [00:06:38] So, we're going to make this film and we need your support. [00:06:41] And not just this film, but we're going to make all of our videos and podcasting and everything we do here at Right Response Ministries better. [00:06:50] We want to achieve the highest level of quality and Christian excellence that we possibly can. [00:06:57] That's where the new studio comes in. [00:06:59] This new film, our date that we're shooting for is that it would be complete and publicly available in May or June of 2023, next year. [00:07:09] The studio. [00:07:10] Our goal is that it would be completely done in its construction and the equipment and the setup and the stage and everything by January, February of 2023 next year. [00:07:21] We need your prayers. [00:07:23] We need your encouragement. [00:07:25] And for those of you who are willing to do so, we need your generous support. [00:07:29] You can give towards these endeavors by going to rightresponseministries.com forward slash donate. [00:07:36] Again, that's rightresponseministries.com forward slash donate. [00:07:42] Thank you so much for all your help. [00:07:44] God bless. [00:07:44] Thanks so much for listening. [00:07:46] But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor take a moment and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show. [00:07:53] This is undoubtedly the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content to as many people as possible. [00:08:00] Thanks so much.
