NXR Podcast - DAILY TRUTH - Growing In Spiritual Maturity Aired: 2022-11-16 Duration: 06:41 === Spiritual Maturity Through Mind and Heart (02:46) === [00:00:00] Hey guys, real quick before we get started, I have a small request. [00:00:03] If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show, would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five star review? [00:00:09] This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible. [00:00:17] Thanks. [00:00:19] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:25] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:30] If we were to take all the qualifications for elders that we find in 1 Timothy 3, verses 1 through 7, and we were to sum them up in one concept, it would be spiritual maturity. [00:00:42] An elder must be mature in the Lord, he must be spiritually mature. [00:00:48] The only thing that we could perhaps add to that is that he must not only be spiritually mature, but he must also be competent. [00:00:57] If we were to say, if there were two parts perhaps for leaders in The church of God, we would say that there is character and there is competency. [00:01:07] Character and competency. [00:01:09] Now, I believe that in some regard, competency actually does flow from character. [00:01:14] That if a man or a woman is spiritually mature, you do not come by spiritual maturity apart from deep, real knowledge from the Word of God. [00:01:27] It's like what I say in the beginning of every single one of my sermons we don't love with our hearts that which we do not know with our minds. [00:01:33] So I just want to burst. [00:01:36] That bubble. [00:01:37] I want to completely just dismantle that myth that has grown so powerful in the evangelical church today that somehow Christians could come into spiritual maturity apart from doctrine. [00:01:53] False. [00:01:54] So if someone truly is spiritually mature in terms of character, they will, at least in some degree, have a measure of competency because you don't grow in character. [00:02:06] In sanctification, apart from knowing God's word. [00:02:12] And we've got it. [00:02:13] We have to dismiss that myth that reigns so prevalent in the evangelical church today that, you know, well, you're theological. [00:02:22] You're really good at loving God with your mind, and I'm really good at loving Him with my heart. [00:02:25] What does that mean? [00:02:27] That's a Gnostic, heretical divorcing of the mind and the heart. [00:02:32] That's not Christian. [00:02:35] It's not Christian, it's not biblical. [00:02:37] When it loves the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul, that's not like, hey, there's four different paths to choose. [00:02:45] Some will love them with their strength. === Why Theonomy Is Biblically Necessary (03:54) === [00:02:46] What does that even look like? [00:02:47] You don't know God with your mind and you don't love him with your affections, but you're just pushing and lifting weights for Jesus. [00:02:54] Strength apart. [00:02:56] It's a collective deal, it's a package deal. [00:03:00] You're loving God not with, you choose which one of these, soul or heart or strength or mind. [00:03:05] No, you're loving God with all of your being. [00:03:08] All of your being. [00:03:09] So there is no love for God in these other realms, if you will, apart from the realm of the mind. [00:03:15] And so if we are to come into spiritual maturity in terms of character, it is because we are coming to love God more with our minds. [00:03:24] And if we are loving God more with our minds, understanding the truth and the depth of his word, then we are by default, consequently growing also not just in character, but in competency. [00:03:34] All right, all right, all right. [00:03:35] Stop twisting my arm. [00:03:36] I know you want to hear the inside scoop. [00:03:39] Here it is, the glorious vision of Right Response Ministries for the first half of next year, 2023. [00:03:45] We have not one, not two, but three massive endeavors that we will accomplish by the grace of God. [00:03:53] The first you already know about. [00:03:54] It's our Theonomy and Postmillennialism Conference, May 5th, 6th, and 7th, with James White, Joe Boot, Gary DeMar, Dale Partridge, and yours truly, Pastor Joel Webbin. [00:04:04] This is selling out incredibly fast. [00:04:07] By the time this commercial airs, you may not even be able to get a ticket. [00:04:11] I really don't know. [00:04:12] So don't waste another moment. [00:04:13] Go to RightResponseConference.com, RightResponseConference.com to join us for the Theonomy and Postmillennialism Conference next year. [00:04:23] Now, This is where you come in. [00:04:25] We need your help. [00:04:26] Our next two endeavors are number one, a documentary style film, and number two, a brand new studio. [00:04:34] Both of these things are seeking to accomplish one primary goal, which is excellent, high quality, glorious Christian media. [00:04:44] We are tired of, as Christians, doing things poorly. [00:04:49] We've done our best with what we have, but by God's grace, we want to do even better. [00:04:54] This is not going to be just another video. [00:04:56] This is not going to be a sermon or an interview or a podcast, but we're going to make a documentary style film. [00:05:03] And we're going to be hiring Nathan Anderson, the director of On Earth as it is in heaven, a very, very successful post millennialism documentary that's on Amazon and YouTube, came out a couple years ago. [00:05:15] He's going to be flying in from Chile to help us direct this film. [00:05:20] And our documentary is going to be on post millennialism and theonomy. [00:05:25] Why it's biblically valid, why it's absolutely necessary, and why, by the grace of God, theonomy and post millennialism are currently on the rise. [00:05:34] So, we're going to make this film, and we need your support. [00:05:38] And not just this film, but we're going to make all of our videos and podcasting and everything we do here at Right Response Ministries better. [00:05:47] We want to achieve the highest level of quality and Christian excellence that we possibly can. [00:05:53] That's where the new studio comes in. [00:05:55] This new film. [00:05:57] Our date that we're shooting for is that it would be complete and publicly available in May or June of 2023, next year. [00:06:05] The studio, our goal is that it would be completely done in its construction and the equipment and the setup and the stage and everything by January, February of 2023, next year. [00:06:18] We need your prayers. [00:06:19] We need your encouragement. [00:06:21] And for those of you who are willing to do so, we need your generous support. [00:06:25] You can give towards these endeavors by going to Right Response Ministries. [00:06:30] Dot com forward slash donate. [00:06:32] Again, that's right response ministries. [00:06:35] com forward slash donate. [00:06:38] Thank you so much for all your help. [00:06:40] God bless.
