[00:00:30]  You guys have heard me quote this a million times.
[00:00:31]  I'm going to quote it again.
[00:00:32]  J.I. Packer, he says, A half truth that masquerades itself as a whole truth is a whole lie.
[00:00:40]  There's more than one way to be deceitful.
[00:00:42]  The only way to be deceitful is not just to say something, not just to make a false statement, but to make a true statement in such a way that leaves out other pertinent and relevant true information in such a way that it would cause people to like you, but they ultimately would be harmed because of it.
[00:01:01]  They would be deceived.
[00:01:02]  There's a whole other sector of the truth that you are leaving out solely because you love yourself.
[00:01:10]  I truly believe that if Jesus was incarnate on earth today, he would point the finger, I believe, at over half of American evangelical pastors and he'd speak to them the very same way he spoke to the Pharisees.
[00:01:24]  You love the glory that comes from men more than the glory that comes from God.
[00:01:29]  You do this in the name of loving people, wanting to be kind to people, wanting to be.
[00:01:34]  Sweet and nice to people.
[00:01:35]  It is not love for others.
[00:01:37]  It is love for yourself.
[00:01:39]  You would rather be liked by others than actually help save others.
[00:01:45]  You brood of vipers.
[00:01:47]  Stop being presumptuous.
[00:01:51]  Stop loving yourself at the cost of souls.
[00:01:55]  How dare you repent of your slavery under the fear of man if there is any sin that is running rampant among leaders in the church today.
[00:02:08]  It is the fear of man, and I have lived underneath it for so long.
[00:02:16]  And I've been so foolish.
[00:02:18]  I've thought that I could preach God's word faithfully and be liked by you guys.
[00:02:26]  I thought that I could do both.
[00:02:28]  What a fool I was.
[00:02:32]  That's not a reality.
[00:02:34]  It's not.
[00:02:37]  I must love the glory that comes from God.
[00:02:41]  Rather than the glory that comes from man, and not just unregenerate, unbelieving man, but even the men and women sitting in my church.
[00:02:49]  I have to care more about what God says of me in His Word than what you say of me.
[00:02:55]  And ironically, by caring more about what God says of me and caring less about what you say of me, I will be more loving toward you.
[00:03:06]  I will do you far more good.
[00:03:09]  You will be far more blessed.
