[00:00:30]  Mark chapter 4, verse 36 through 41 says this.
[00:00:33]  And leaving the crowd, they took him, being Jesus, with them being his disciples, in the boat, just as he was.
[00:00:40]  And other boats were with him, and a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling with water.
[00:00:49]  But he, being Jesus, was in the stern, asleep on the cushion.
[00:00:53]  And they woke him and said to him, Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?
[00:00:59]  And he awoke and he rebuked the wind and the sea and said, Peace, be still.
[00:01:04]  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
[00:01:07]  The storm was over.
[00:01:09]  And he said to them, the disciples, Why are you so afraid?
[00:01:13]  Have you still no faith?
[00:01:15]  And notice this this is key to everything.
[00:01:17]  Verse 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, Who then is this that even the wind and the sea obey him?
[00:01:30]  Notice this.
[00:01:30]  The disciples were afraid of the storm.
[00:01:33]  Jesus calms the storm.
[00:01:34]  The storm is now gone, no longer a threat.
[00:01:37]  And the disciples go from afraid of a storm to exceedingly afraid.
[00:01:42]  Of Jesus, Sigmund Freud cannot account for the Christian God because the Christian God instills in us more fear, not less, because He is a holy, holy, holy God, terrible in His judgments, and by no means will He pardon the wicked.
[00:02:02]  But that being said, take comfort and hope.
[00:02:08]  Many people are rightfully afraid to acknowledge the existence of the God of the Bible because they rightfully recognize that He is holy.
[00:02:15]  And that they are but wretched sinners.
[00:02:17]  And like Adam and Eve, after they sinned, many people attempt to hide from God in fear.
[00:02:22]  However, in my final conclusion, listen to the words of our Lord Jesus Christ Himself in the Gospel of John, chapter 5, verse 24.
[00:02:31]  He who has ears to hear my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life, and He does not come into judgment.
[00:02:45]  But has passed out of death into life.
[00:02:49]  We must fear God, but we do not have to fear his judgment if we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
