NXR Podcast - DAILY TRUTH - Eagerly Awaiting Christ's Return Aired: 2022-07-18 Duration: 02:54 === Leave a Five Star Review (02:54) === [00:00:00] Hey guys, real quick before we get started, I have a small request. [00:00:03] If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show, would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five star review? [00:00:09] This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible. [00:00:17] Thanks. [00:00:19] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:25] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:31] Every ounce of love for sin that is in every one of our hearts, even now, even the most noble and sanctified Christian among us has chambers of his or her heart that still are sustaining and holding affection for sin. [00:00:49] How we long for that to finally be removed. [00:00:56] I think of 1 John, where the apostle says, That on that final day, we will see him as he truly is. [00:01:05] And when we see him, we will be like him. [00:01:10] Do you long to be like him? [00:01:13] Are you more eager to see him and therefore be like him, to be holy as he is holy, to be done away with sin? [00:01:20] Is that your greatest desire? [00:01:26] I would say that more often than not, the times when that is not our greatest desire. [00:01:34] Are those times when we are forgetting the heaviness of life? [00:01:42] But when we're reminded, oh, how we long for the life to come. [00:01:49] This is why it's good that we would gather as saints, that we would be a part of a local body of Christ, because there are times where, in God's providence and in his kindness, we ourselves personally are not suffering. [00:02:05] And even in the realm of sin, we ourselves are experiencing certain victory and repentance. [00:02:11] And we are celebrating the victories that God is giving us in holiness and sanctification. [00:02:17] And yet, the beauty of belonging to the body of Christ is that when we celebrate, we can be sure that someone else suffers. [00:02:25] And so we can still experience not our own suffering, but the suffering and sin of others that helps us, even in the moments of joy, to still long for Christ's return. [00:02:38] Thanks so much for listening. [00:02:39] But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor take a moment and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
