NXR Podcast - DAILY TRUTH - Why Does It Seem Like Morality Keeps Changing? Aired: 2022-06-17 Duration: 02:52 === God Is Immutable (02:52) === [00:00:00] Hey guys, real quick before we get started, I have a small request. [00:00:03] If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show, would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five star review? [00:00:09] This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible. [00:00:17] Thanks. [00:00:19] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:25] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:30] See, the fruit of the knowledge of the tree of good and evil, what it did was it didn't cause them all of a sudden to be wise in a way that they weren't before. [00:00:38] It actually, it's not the tree of wisdom, it's the tree of folly. [00:00:42] They became foolish. [00:00:44] And what happened is they already knew good and evil, but they knew good and evil as it related to God. [00:00:49] They now replaced God with their own character. [00:00:53] And now they begin to judge what was good and evil by comparing it to themselves. [00:00:57] And that's the curse. [00:00:59] And that's what we've seen for thousands of years, ever since Adam and Eve in our fallen world. [00:01:05] Culture itself, man itself, exalts himself as the one who knows the standard for what's good and evil. [00:01:12] So, why does morality keep shifting? [00:01:14] Why do so many people legitimately believe that morality is something that evolves? [00:01:20] Because it's based on man. [00:01:23] And man evolves because man changes. [00:01:25] Here's the wonderful thing about God the wonderful thing about Tiggis, the wonderful thing about God is that God is immutable. [00:01:31] His character never changes. [00:01:33] And so, when morality is based on God and his unchanging character, morality never changes. [00:01:40] So, the whole phrase, the whole thing, it's 2019. [00:01:44] So, what? [00:01:45] What does that mean? [00:01:46] It's 2019. [00:01:48] Like last time I checked, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. [00:01:53] And God is the standard. [00:01:54] He doesn't just hold a perfect standard, He is the standard, and He never changes. [00:02:00] So, I don't care what year it is, I don't care what state it is, I don't care. [00:02:05] What is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong. [00:02:08] But that's what happened. [00:02:10] It's not that Eve and Adam all of a sudden, now we're smart. [00:02:14] We used to be dumb because we ate the. [00:02:16] No. [00:02:17] No. [00:02:17] Now all of a sudden we know good and evil, but foolishly, not wisely, but foolishly because we now compare to ourselves rather than taking all things and comparing them to the character of God. [00:02:28] They now view themselves as a suitable substitute for the standard of morality rather than trusting God Himself. [00:02:35] Thanks so much for listening. [00:02:37] But real quick, before you go, do us a small favor take a moment and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
