[00:00:19] Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. [00:00:25] You're listening to Daily Truth. [00:00:30] When it comes to saving faith, If you want to be saved from your sin, if you want to be declared righteous in the sight of God, receive the forgiveness of sins, you must have saving faith. [00:00:47] Saving faith is Christian faith, and Christian faith has the Christian object, who is no one less than Christ himself. [00:00:54] And so the faith that saves, the type of faith, the kind, the nature of faith, is a Christian faith. [00:01:01] And what makes Christian faith Christian faith is that it has the Christian object. [00:01:06] It has Christ as the object of faith. [00:01:09] The one that we are trusting in is the person and work of Jesus. [00:01:14] Now, that said, the degree of faith, the measure of faith that a person has, how strongly they believe, it matters greatly in the sight of God. [00:01:23] But what is necessary, or we could say what is sufficient in order for someone to be justified, is not the degree of their faith, but rather the kind, the nature of faith, which is determined by having the proper object. [00:01:38] If you have Christ as the object of your faith, Then you have the kind of faith, the nature of faith that is Christian faith. [00:01:45] And Christian faith is, in fact, a saving faith. [00:01:49] Now, Abraham, in his case, we find this language, and we saw it last week. [00:01:52] It's robust language that speaks to the degree, it speaks to the strength of Abraham's faith. [00:01:59] The language is that he did not waver, that no unbelief was able to make him waver. [00:02:04] Or against all hope, Abraham hoped. [00:02:07] He had hope in the midst of no hope. [00:02:10] Or that Abraham was fully convinced. [00:02:12] Have you ever had moments in your life where you wish? [00:02:15] That you were fully convinced because in that moment you're not, right? [00:02:19] You're struggling with doubt. [00:02:20] You're wrestling through something with the Lord. [00:02:23] You're doubting His promises. [00:02:25] You're doubting His character. [00:02:26] You're doubting His power, right? [00:02:28] That He's true or that He's willing or that He's able, right? [00:02:31] You're not fully convinced. [00:02:34] You're not fully convinced. === Doubting the Mustard Seed Power (00:59) === [00:02:35] Well, the beauty is that in those moments, Jesus Himself says that the faith of a mustard seed has the power to move mountains, right? [00:02:43] Now, Jesus, to be fair, He is constantly chastising ye of little faith. [00:02:49] And he is regularly marveling, condoning, commending those who have great faith. [00:02:57] But if we're speaking to the efficacy of faith, whether or not faith works, whether or not the faith is sufficient, we must recognize that in biblical terms, mustard seed faith is sufficient. [00:03:11] Mustard seed faith, it is effective. [00:03:14] It does, in fact, work, it is saving. [00:03:18] Thanks so much for listening, but real quick. [00:03:20] Before you go, do us a small favor take a moment and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
