The Matt Walsh Show - The New Podcast You Should Be Listening To Aired: 2021-07-02 Duration: 03:04 === America's Forgotten Heroes (02:59) === [00:00:00] [MUSIC] [00:00:05] America needs more heroes, so the Daily Wire is providing some. [00:00:08] Our newest podcast, America's Forgotten Heroes, is available now on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts, so go subscribe and leave a five-star review if you like what you hear. [00:00:16] America's Forgotten Heroes contains seven action-packed episodes that will each drop daily. [00:00:21] Our goal with these stories is to give recognition where it's due, because too many of them have faded into the obscurity of the past, which is unfair and unwarranted. [00:00:29] America's Forgotten Heroes is a trip That takes you back in history to a time where language wasn't literally violence, where brave men paid in blood for the freedom that many used to complain about microaggressions and pronouns and things today. [00:00:43] One such man was Ernest E. Evans, a World War II naval officer who fought in the Battle of Sumar. [00:00:48] In the battle, a small U.S. [00:00:50] naval task unit was ambushed by a large Japanese fleet of 23 ships, hell-bent on destroying the American Navy. [00:00:56] Though almost completely unprepared, Evans and his men managed to attack the Japanese forces in one of the greatest last stands in naval history, and just a dramatic and incredible story, and a real-life story. [00:01:07] Or take Frank Luke, a 21-year-old fighter pilot in World War I. Young, talented, arrogant. [00:01:13] Luke sometimes butted heads with his peers and commanding officers, especially when he disregarded direct orders and occasionally tended to fly solo, but he secured a spot in history after shooting down 18 German aircrafts in 18 days. [00:01:25] That is what we call efficiency. [00:01:27] Now, two Air Force bases boast his name. [00:01:29] I seriously cannot recommend it enough. [00:01:32] Let's check out the trailer now. [00:01:34] Hi everybody, I'm Bill Whittle and I'd like to introduce you to seven men who have made this country so exceptional. [00:01:39] John Paul Jones, who sailed home from war 129 years after he sailed into it. [00:01:44] Frank Luke, the World War I fighter ace who drew his sidearm in a desperate situation. [00:01:49] Booker T. Washington, a man who came into the world as someone else's property and who left it with a foolproof formula for racial harmony. [00:01:56] Jimmy Doolittle, the perfect combination of brains, guts, and skill, running up his engines a long way from home. [00:02:03] Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, a man so profoundly wise that he could see the great wheel of history revolving around him in real time. [00:02:10] Ernest Evans, a U.S. [00:02:12] Navy commander who's vowed to never run away from the enemy, triggered the most amazing two hours in U.S. [00:02:17] history. [00:02:18] And Dick Rutan, combat pilot, test pilot, and the man who nailed the last standing record in aviation history, With a little help from his baby brother. [00:02:27] These are America's Forgotten Heroes. [00:02:29] And if you join me, I guarantee you will come out of these seven episodes as awestruck, proud, and grateful as I did.
