Happy Monday!
Welcome to The Hope Report, a ministry of the Lindell Recovery Network.
I am Melissa Hurray, so excited to be with you today on this 22nd day of April.
It's Earth Day, it's Passover today.
I had a really busy weekend, a lot to tell you about and share with you, and also a great topic today, I think.
So, before we get into that, let's pray.
I just saw a post on Instagram from my friend Steve Hines, who wrote the book Salt, Light, and Kids.
And he made a post where he said, why the huge amount of Jew hatred on our college campuses and elsewhere right now?
And then he put up two scriptures, 2 Corinthians 4.4, for the God of this age, Satan, has blinded the minds of unbelievers.
But remember this, greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world.
1 John 4.4.
Amen.
Let's gather together with a word of prayer.
Father God, I just come before you in the mighty name of Jesus.
Lord, we thank you for those promises from your Holy Word.
You are greater than the God of this world, who is Satan, who roams around looking for people to steal, kill, and destroy, who has blinded the minds of people everywhere, and who seeks to wreak havoc and sow seeds of division.
We thank you, Lord, that our hope is in you.
that you are our eternal hope, not this temporary earthly home.
I ask you, Lord, to help us develop a kingdom mindset as we look at events in the world.
Lord, we pray for peace, peace for Jerusalem.
We pray for a mighty revival, a turning of hearts towards you, that your spirit would pour out And would bring conviction that blind eyes would be opened and deaf ears would be opened, Lord.
We just pray that the scales would fall from people's eyes, people who are living under a demonic deception.
I pray, Lord, that you would bring people across their path to speak boldly to them, that you would put them in the right place to meet the right people.
And I pray, Lord, that you would do that for us as your followers, that we would be a light to the world, that we would be the salt of the earth, Lord, that you would give us courage and boldness to go out and share your truth with people, that we wouldn't shrink back, that we wouldn't be afraid, we wouldn't be worried about who we're going to offend, Jesus, that you would In these last days, that you would allow us to overcome anything the enemy uses to keep us quiet, to keep us safe, to keep us shrinking back, Lord, that we would be mighty warriors in your kingdom, that you would just raise up an army, that people who have never been bold before would start being bold, would stop caring about what people think,
Lord, we pray that you would just take us where you want us to go, that you would just mess up our schedule, mess up our neat little life, take us out of what we thought we had planned and put us into your plans.
I pray that we would just die to ourselves and that we would come on fire for the call that you have on our lives, that you would take our will and mold it to yours.
Lord, show us areas where we are bound, where we are bound by the enemy, where we are being held back.
Lord, show us how to break those bonds, that we can do all things through you, Jesus.
I was praying this morning, and I was seeing this image of people wrapped up in chains, and I was seeing the chain snapping off, as I was saying, Mistrust, flee in the name of Jesus.
Doubt, flee in the name of Jesus.
Addiction, flee in the name of Jesus.
Shame, flee in the name of Jesus.
And the shackles were falling off and the chains were breaking.
Lord, I just pray that chains would be broken around the world in a way that we have never seen before.
That there would be a mighty revival and that people would turn to you in the midst of war and strife and division.
I rebuke the enemy in Jesus' name.
Lord, I pray that he would not sow seeds of division in our homes and our families.
He cannot have our children.
Lord, we pray.
That you would reclaim our lost children, our prodigals, our kids living in rebellion, our adult children who are in addiction or having gender confusion.
Lord, we proclaim in Jesus' name that the enemy will not have our children, will not have our marriages, that we are taking back ground from the enemy today in the mighty name of Jesus.
Amen.
All right, let's get into it!
Well, I had a really, really great weekend.
It started off Monday night with a presentation with Sharam Hadian, my friend from Truth and Love Ministry, TILMinistry.com.
Sharam witnesses around the country about his testimony of growing up In Persia, I mean, growing up in Iran and fleeing in 1979 and becoming a Christian at the age of 28.
And the reason Shuram, you know, the reason why he talks about is that he had people that were bold enough to tell him the truth.
They weren't giving him some watered down version of the gospel.
They were speaking to him that there is one way that is true and everything else is a lie.
There aren't 55 ways to heaven.
There's one way, and his name is Jesus Christ.
He says this in John 14, 6, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
Acts 4, 12.
Salvation is found only through Him, under no other name and many other places.
So Sharam, he said this really upset his world.
It turned his world upside down.
Everything he had been taught about Islam was a lie.
And suddenly he was faced with this and he had to seek the truth.
And the Holy Spirit spoke to him one day and said, Sharam, you know the truth.
Everything else is a lie.
And that's how he's lived since that day, 24 years as a Christian and as a pastor.
So he did a very powerful talk to mobilize people for action, to go out and hit the streets and witness and take back enemy ground.
This event was in downtown Minneapolis, and I have to be honest, my husband wasn't really thrilled about us going there at night, because honestly, he's being You know, he's being practical.
He's saying, you know, I don't know if we should go in this area where there's stray bullets and there's lots of crime that happens, especially at night.
And I said to him, I will defer to your, I will acquiesce, is the word I used when I said it in a live stream yesterday.
I will submit to your authority, you know, what you think is best.
But he ended up being armed, so we felt comfortable going there.
But it was great.
It was in the church basement, and he had a huge crowd of people.
These were true soldiers.
This wasn't an event at some fancy church with a cushy environment and nice little You know, presentation and amenities.
It was a back-to-basics, bare-bones church basement with people in the soldiers in the army of the Lord getting ready to hit the streets with the message of Jesus.
And as I was sitting there listening, I felt almost sheepish because I was thinking, I'm not going out to witness after this.
I'm actually really tired.
I mean, it's 930.
This is way past my bedtime.
I'm going to go home and go to bed.
But something happened.
Something happened in that environment, being in that revival environment.
And I got this cool little Bible from an organization called Restore Minnesota.
Revive Minnesota, sorry.
Jerry Rosamond.
And it's a very easy little witnessing Bible with these little grooves where you can go through the whole gospel presentation very easily with people, New Testament Bible.
So then, as I continue to tell you my weekend story, and I promise we'll get to the topic also, we went to the mall on Saturday.
Okay, I loathe going to the mall, but it's my daughter.
My middle daughter is turning 16 this week.
On Thursday, it's her birthday.
Macy is going to be 16.
And she wanted to go pick out some things at the mall.
So we went not to the Mall of America, but we did go to the Rosedale Mall, which is about 45 minutes north of me.
So my girls were in a store right across the way.
My husband and I were hanging out, talking, waiting for them.
And there was a lot of people around.
It was pretty busy at the mall.
And we were turned toward each other, talking, not really watching anything going on.
And these three people came up and approached us.
And they said, Hi!
Do you mind if we ask you a question?
And honestly, at first I was going, okay, what is this?
Are you guys trying to sell me Amway?
Or I'm not really sure you're going to try to sell me something.
Well, they were.
They were trying to sell me the best gift in the world, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
But they said, do you know the good news?
And then we said, oh, well, yes, you know, we're Christians and we got into this awesome conversation about God and the Bible.
And we were talking for like 20 minutes with these three evangelists.
And, you know, as we were wrapping up our conversation, I said, you know, I'm just curious, why did you guys come over and approach us?
And they said, well, the Holy Spirit told us to come over and talk to you.
The Holy Spirit sent us over here to embolden you and to stir up your faith.
And I was like, wow, that's amazing because it really did stir up my faith.
Then let's just fast forward and we exchanged phone numbers actually.
We talked about meeting and going out witnessing together.
They go out in groups of three.
They meet at different places in the Twin Cities.
So I made a connection there.
And then we finished up at the mall and my daughter then wanted to go to Wingstop.
So she had a whole list of things she wanted to do on Saturday.
I've never been to Wingstop.
Didn't know anything about it.
It was in Savage.
So we made this whole loop of the city from South, North, all the way around.
Back south again.
Went into this wing place.
Didn't know what to expect.
It was a really small little cubicle basically with people jammed in there.
And there were a bunch of Somalian people in there.
As there are 200,000 Somalians in Minnesota.
And I remember I was sitting there on the windowsill waiting for them to place their order, watching this group of people wearing their Somalian dress.
And I thought, I should be witnessing right now, but I'm not.
I don't really feel like it.
I'm tired.
I've had a long day.
I'm burnt out from the mall and I just don't really feel like it.
So I was sitting in the corner, keeping to myself.
Then all of a sudden, Two minutes later, this young man bursts into the shop, the wing shop.
He's got a thing around his neck, almost like those things that people wear at games where they're selling concessions and it's full of bags of popcorn.
And he stands in the middle of the people and he almost starts giving a little testimony You know, I was saved by Jesus Christ.
I came out of addiction a year ago.
I'm here selling fundraising for my church.
And I just start clapping and I'm like, yes, brother, come on, preach it, brother.
And he smiles and he came over to me and I just said, thank you for doing that.
What you just did stirred up my faith.
And I shared a little bit of my, you know, testimony of coming out of addiction.
And then I said, can I pray for you?
So I laid hands on him.
He was 30 years old.
His name is Anthony.
And he is wanting to be a pastor.
That's his dream.
But he said, you know, I need to get some time under my belt.
I need to get some wisdom.
I need to train.
I'm training with some people in my church.
I laid hands on him and prayed.
And I prayed louder and louder and louder.
And I kept just proclaiming the name of Jesus in this tiny space with all the Somalian people in there.
And my husband was praying with us, too, and joining us in prayer.
And I was like, wow, the Holy Spirit is on the move.
And it's just so inspiring when you see people boldly proclaiming their faith, sharing their testimony.
I mean, the Bible says we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
And he just walked into that place and he said, hey, I was saved by Jesus Christ.
I'm raising money for my church.
And it reminded me of how powerful our testimony is.
No one can argue with our testimony.
It's ours.
And when Jesus has done something like that in our life, we just can't stay quiet about it.
So my whole weekend was just this mobilizing of faith or God was moving me from event to event and he was meeting me where I was at, you know, and I just, I love the picture of that.
That sometimes we can be really hard on ourselves and we can say, Oh, I'm not doing enough.
I'm so lazy.
I should be speaking out more.
And he was coming, you know, he was meeting me where I was at and helping me and nudging my faith along and bringing me people who I could join with.
Like the idea of me going out with three people and witnessing, I can really see myself doing that.
The idea of laying hands on people, you know, when you meet another believer and you're in the midst of unbelievers, it's pressing back the darkness.
So I just kept seeing God moving over and over this weekend.
And I hope that you feel it, too.
I hope that you feel how powerful it is, even when you don't see the way, but you have submitted and surrendered to Him.
And you have decided that you're going to trust Him.
You can't see what He's doing right now, maybe.
You're confused.
You're wondering when He's going to act.
And you're having to wait and yield and be patient.
And I've just seen so many things coming to fruition right now that I've been praying for for months or even years.
There's more that I want to share, but I don't want to run out of time.
I do want to shift a little bit and talk about that.
I want to just celebrate the third anniversary of Frank's Speech.
It was actually yesterday, the 21st of April, three years ago, that Frank's Speech launched.
And I was so blessed to be able to be given a show by Mike Lindell on this network.
I mean, it was like a dream come true.
As I've said many times, I used to be a news reporter and anchor.
I ended that job many years ago, went to work as an addiction counselor for many years, and then came to work for Mike Lindell in 2018.
And the Lord brought that broadcasting Opportunity back around in a way where I could do it to glorify him.
So I want to look back a little.
Could I show the graphic of some of the past show guests?
I want to just show this beautiful graphic that was made for me by the team here.
So I want to thank you guys for getting that done.
And this is by no means an exhaustive list, but they are some of the Some of my favorite guests and people who have been frequent, recurrent guests, probably people you have seen, heard me talk about many times.
And then there are also, you know, you may look at this and go, Oh, some of these are high profile people.
And there's some of the high profile people who are the most humble that I have met.
And that really surprised me, you know, like Raymond Arroyo and like Bobby Brown and Liz Collin.
And I mean, Nick Vukicic, I always say his name wrong, but being able to meet these people was such a blessing to me and them freely giving their testimonies.
And some of them have really deep, I mean, like Annie Cyrus, her story moved me so powerfully.
Joe Hoft, I never knew What I learned about him, such a humble man.
It shows me how amazing it is when you step back and you let God lead and you let God move.
Mike Lindell was one of our first guests.
I remember what a time that was, just being able to hear him tell his story and the way he does it.
I said this this morning on a post that Mike is like the most uncorporate guy you're ever going to meet, and that's one of the things that drew me to him.
It's like, I want to work for him.
I feel like I could be myself with him.
So this was a space for 24, I think it was.
I can't remember how many people, but there have been others, so many more, 570 shows in the past three years.
So very blessed by all the testimonies and the people who had stories that the people who you don't even know are some of the most powerful most powerful stories the people that don't have a name or don't have a title as an influencer and those are For the most part, the testimonies that we have here on The Hope Report.
But this started with a guy named Jason Perry and me and I want to show you, I'll just kind of talk over it while it's playing, but Jason and I started the show together in April of 2021.
And Jason is a former cop, former Navy SEAL.
He's a pastor now in Johnson City, Tennessee.
And he was friends with Paul Lavelle, who is one of Mike Lindell's really good friends with Operation Restored Warrior.
And one day, Paul Lavelle was talking to Mike and he said, Hey, Mike, you know, I think Melissa, he said, did you know that Melissa used to be a news reporter?
There is our first show.
That is what it looked like the first day that we did it.
We tried to kind of get it together quickly for the launch of Frank's Speech.
We put it together and made it happen, but we didn't have a lot of nice-looking, cool graphics, although Jason did make that graphic with the hands gripping that we still have on the screen right now.
He did do some very nice graphics for us, and he brought to the show a lot of what we needed in terms of Patriotism and fathers leading a family and mobilizing people to be active in the kingdom and to speak truth and to be bold.
And I will say that I learned a great deal from him.
Jason has his own ministry still.
It's called Christian Warrior Talk.
You can find him on YouTube and Rumble and he does a Sunday sermon every Sunday.
He's a pastor of a home church and he has a farm in Johnson City, Tennessee.
And we did the show together for two years and four months.
So the launch of Frank's Speech, two years and four months up until this past August.
And I've been alone, you know, doing the show alone for the past eight months.
But I am very grateful for what we started together.
I learned a lot from Jason.
He really challenged me in a lot of ways.
It was iron sharpening iron.
And it really showed me how I needed to get really serious about what I believe, why I believe it.
It sent me on a deep dive into the Bible.
And into a lot.
I mean, he was the catalyst for a lot of growth that I had.
A lot of refining, a lot of growth.
And I wouldn't have done that had it not been for him.
He also spoke into my husband's life a lot.
My husband went to an event at Jason's house in Johnson City.
He had a forging event, which was kind of like a spiritual retreat that was guns and stuff like that, and also the Bible and giving testimony.
And that really helped Mike move in his faith.
He really needed To come around strong men and to get over, you know, fear of sharing his story and, you know, talking about what he had come through.
And it was the right environment for him to do that.
And when he came back, he got into the Bible.
And that was, I think it was about two and a half, two-ish years ago.
And he's been reading the Bible daily ever since.
So I pray for Jason and his wife, Lauren.
They have three beautiful kids, Bea, Anya, and Magnus is their newest little boy.
Magnus Luther, named after Martin Luther.
Very powerful names.
And then Jason also has an older son named Connor.
So I just pray for them that their family be blessed and that God would prosper them and give them favor with their farm, their church, their ministry.
And I do thank Jason for What we did together and, you know, how we had this two years and four months of doing the show together.
So I wish him well in what he's doing now.
And like I said, he still has a thriving ministry.
So go find him on Christian.
I know he changed the name and I want to make sure I get it right.
Christian Warrior Talk on YouTube, Facebook and Rumble.
So thank you, Jason.
I wanted to include you in the celebration of three years of Frank's speech.
And so I'm also glad that I've been able to, you know, just have so much growth in the past three years and my growth with the Lord and the desires he's put in my heart to witness to Muslim people and to defend Israel and to learn the Bible.
Actually, I was having a little discussion with somebody this morning and we were going back and forth about Israel and you could see that they were trying to disagree with some of my points.
And I just left it by saying, you know, I'm not interested in having online debates with people who are not even bearing fruit.
I mean, I'm not interested in having fights with people I don't know just for the sake of arguing.
So if you don't have a ministry and you're just doing it to argue, then I don't have time for you.
But anyway, all that said, I'm grateful.
I'm just beyond grateful for Mike Lindell for creating this platform and that I've been able to be a part of it.
We will get into our topic, when to wait on God and when to act, when we come right back on The Hope Report.
Mike Lindell here.

Also on YouTube, so pleased to report, I ticked up on the Hope Report YouTube channel to 2.28k.
2.28k on the Pope Report YouTube channel.
I also did a couple videos over the weekend about Israel, about how deep is God's love for his chosen people, Israel.
I did one, I think, well for sure yesterday I did, and I feel like I did another one.
I did a Sunday service.
Because my family went to church and I had to stay home with the dog because he is still recovering from his surgery and he needs to be supervised all the time.
So I had church by myself and then I also watched Pastor Ken Peters of Patriot Church.
I watched his service from Knoxville, Tennessee and he is going to be a guest on the Hope Report.
I think it's May Uh, maybe May 8th.
I can't exactly remember the date, but really excited to have Ken Peters coming up.
I have a couple great guests this week, too, while I'm at it.
I'll just tease those quickly.
Wednesday, Norm Welsh is going to be back.
It wasn't too long ago he was on.
He's the author of Christ-Centered Healing Oh, am I getting the title right?
Christ-Centered Healing of Trauma.
And he's a former police officer.
He's overcome a lot in his life with drug addiction and physical disability.
He's going to talk about forgiveness though.
He's going to talk about the power of forgiveness and how it truly does set us free.
And then on Wednesday, my friend Jeff Diggins of Bread of Life Fellowship, and I know he's listening right now.
I just want to say hi to Jeff.
He said he wasn't driving all around traveling today.
He does a lot of traveling for his job.
So he said he was going to be tuning in to the Hope Report.
He's been doing a deep dive into the life of Joseph.
In genesis right now on his show, which is monday wednesday and friday at 9 p.m Eastern on getter so follow bread of life fellowship and jeff diggins on getter and tune in tonight at 9 eastern As he continues with his series on joseph And he's going to come on friday to talk about this more About the life of joseph the joseph anointing and this is something i'm really personally interested in too So i'm really excited for these two guests we have coming up this week But now, let's get to our topic.
Oh wait, one thing before we get to our topic.
My daughter has an appointment with our pastor today, and so I would just ask for your prayer for that.
I forgot to pray about it at the beginning, but she has a meeting with him as soon as she gets home from school.
I have to run her over there.
And my husband and I met with our pastor last Wednesday.
You remember me talking about that.
But if you would just please keep Macy in prayer, she'll be meeting with the pastor and the youth leader, who is a very sweet young woman named Kenzie.
So they are meeting with Macy at three o'clock today and just praying that it'll be well received and that God will speak through James and Kenzie and be able to reach Macy.
All right.
Amen.
So today we're going to talk about when to wait on God and when to act.
And this is a topic that's been coming up for me a lot lately.
And also just, I wanted to do it last week, that day that I had the internet troubles and my internet was down and then also sort of sick from my medical appointment.
But This has been a problem in my life going way back, of trying to get ahead of God.
And I've spoken of it a lot of times, where a lot of my problems in life have been the result of trying to force His hand, trying to manipulate situations or move things before the time is right, and refusing to wait on God's timing.
So that's what I wanted to talk to you about today and for you to think about how it might apply to your own life because I see this playing out in my own life right now so powerfully with a situation that we haven't handled that well.
But the main point I want to underscore is that no matter where you're at in life right now, and this was something the pastor said to Mike and me as well, is do not condemn yourself and don't let the enemy condemn you.
For whatever you've done in the past, it's easy to get into that mindset of dwelling on, if only I had done this, if only I hadn't done that.
And I know as a person who is been freed from addiction, it's easy for addicts to do that too.
And forgiving ourselves can be one of the hardest things to do when we get locked into that mindset of thinking of all the times we screwed up and all the things that we have done wrong.
And the enemy would love to keep you in that mental bondage.
But Jesus wants to set you free.
Jesus wants to meet you right now in this moment.
And really that's, you know, when we met with my pastor, I thought he was going to maybe look back through the past and identify some areas where we went wrong and where, well, this, here's a point where you screwed up.
You should have done this here.
He didn't do any of that.
He said, let's start today and move forward.
Let's decide what we need to do today.
And that's what each of us need to do.
Stop dwelling on the past.
Renew your mind through the Bible, through prayer, And seek God.
Seek God in this moment.
And don't let the enemy continue to condemn you over some past choice that you have made.
Now, it is important to learn from the past.
I will say that.
And this is something I used to teach my clients.
I just thought of this.
Thank you, Holy Spirit.
We do our best to live in the moment.
We live in the moment.
That's where we're connected to God.
We're living in the now.
And don't think I'm being New Agey here.
I'm not.
But we're living in the presence of God right now.
You know, we're walking step by step with him.
We may need to visit the past.
Why would we visit the past?
Well, to learn from things.
We may need to learn.
Well, I really messed that up.
I don't want to do that again.
I'm not going to repeat that same behavior and get the same result.
So we may visit the past to learn and we may visit the future to plan, to strategize.
But when we visit the past, there shouldn't be regret.
There shouldn't be just this rumination of spending so much time in their thinking and dwelling on everything we've done.
That's really not productive when you are allowing yourself to do that.
And you do have the power to control your thinking.
You may not think you do.
I used to think that whatever falls in my mind, I just think it as long as it stays there.
I never really understood the power to change my thinking.
In 2 Corinthians 10 5, it talks about tearing down strongholds and tearing down wrong thinking and that we have to be vigilant about our thought life because the enemy loves to put the wrong thoughts into our mind and make us think about them and dwell on them and create things in our mind that They might be half-truths or maybe they're not true at all.
So when you're going to the past, maybe you're visiting it for a reason.
Do it for a reason.
Do it because you are trying to learn from it.
Or maybe you're visiting the past and it's not for a bad reason.
It might be you're just reminiscing on something or you're remembering or you're having a sentimental moment.
But just be very intentional when you are doing that, when you are going into the past or you're going into the future.
When you're going into the future, sometimes there can be fear, anxiety, trepidation, you know, just, I don't know what's going to happen.
What if this doesn't happen?
And worrying about the future.
That's not how children of God should be living.
We live in the moment with Jesus Christ and we stay connected to him.
And then we don't have to fear the future and we don't have to live in the past.
We live in the present moment with purpose.
So when you're trying to decide when to wait on God or when to act, pray first.
First, you need to pray.
Did you open this door, Lord?
And maybe it's an opportunity that's come into your life.
And you don't know.
Gosh, is this from you?
Is this something I tried to make happen?
The best example I have of this is when my husband was looking for a job.
He was, for two years prior to leaving He was at his most recent job for 20 years.
And for the last two years, he was looking around.
He was putting out resumes.
He was out there on LinkedIn.
He was meeting with recruiters.
He was talking to headhunters and stuff like that.
And he had a couple of opportunities in 2019.
Planned Parenthood reached out to him about a CFO position and right away, I mean, we knew that was wrong.
He wasn't going to take that job.
Then there was another position and this one seemed pretty good.
It seemed like maybe it was the one.
So we prayed about it and we kept going and moving through the process step by step.
This company kept courting him.
They were taking him out.
You know, they were really interested in him.
And this process went on for like six months.
And we had some reservations, but we thought, well, I guess this is the best thing that's out there right now because he had been probably putting out like a hundred resumes and he had had two people.
So this company, we decided, okay, we're going to do this.
But we kept praying.
We kept praying through the whole process.
And he actually drafted a letter to his boss that he was going to give to him.
That day at 4pm, he had a meeting set up with his boss to hand in his resignation.
And I was at my pillow.
I was at the office in Shakopee.
This was back when I still went into the office before COVID.
And I was really unsettled about this.
And I kept praying.
I just kept praying in the office.
God, if this is not of you, please block this.
Block this if it's the wrong thing.
Show us clearly if this is the job you should take.
And About a half an hour before he was going to have that appointment with his boss, a recruiter reached out to him and said, Hey, I have this job offer for you.
And my husband said, Oh, that's okay.
You know, I already decided I'm going to go with this other company.
And he said, Oh, well, if you don't mind me asking, who is it?
So Mike told him, And then he started to deliver all these warnings.
Oh, you really don't want to go with them.
Things have not gone well for them.
They've had four CFOs over the past four years.
So God put this person in his path 30 minutes before he was going to resign from his job to deliver this warning.
And I think that you can be You can be assured that God is going to be with you every step of the way when you're surrendered to him and you're saturating the process with prayer.
You're praying for him to lead you to close the doors that he wants closed and to open the doors he wants open.
And that was absolutely, that other job would have been a counterfeit opportunity.
And often before our breakthrough, the enemy will send counterfeits into our path.
This has happened to me many times and many people I know where maybe it's a person.
You're waiting for your kingdom spouse and the enemy is sending you counterfeits.
They're almost as good as the real thing, but not quite.
And you may be tempted to sell out and just say, well, this is the best thing that's come in my path for a while.
But yet you're feeling disturbance about it.
You're not feeling peace.
You're not feeling resolution.
I would encourage you to wait if you are feeling any kind of hesitation.
And I'll come back to that because you aren't always going to feel absolute peace over everything God leads you into.
You might feel scared.
You might feel, gosh, I don't know if this is going to work out.
But you have to saturate the whole process with prayer and you have to be open and surrender to Him and to believe and trust that He is going to guide you every step of the way.
I was led into the job with Mike Lindell.
I mean, I was praying.
I put up a Facebook post about this a little while ago, but I have a picture from January 22nd of 2017 where I took a picture by Mike's cutout at the Burnsville Mall.
That was the day I found out about his addiction testimony.
I was really excited about this.
I had no idea that my pillow guy was a crack addict.
I was just shouting this from the mountaintops.
I went back to my job in the treatment center where I work and I started telling all my clients about Mike Lindell.
You guys should go work at MyPillow.
They have living wage jobs, good paying jobs with benefits.
They hire addicts and felons.
And I even started showing some of Mike's documentaries in my groups.
I was doing this for a year and a half before I ever worked for Mike.
But God had put something in my heart that gave me this compulsion to want to work for him.
I didn't know how, I didn't know when.
I just didn't, I didn't even think I was a fit for any position there.
I thought, well, what would I do there?
So one day I just sent in a resume and I also went to an event Mike had held at US Bank Stadium here in the Twin Cities.
He had a world's biggest pillow fight where he gave away 50,000 pillows and there was a huge pillow fight that went in the Guinness Book of World Records and Mike gave his testimony and I remember him on stage and I was way up in the nosebleed seats and Mike was on stage kneeling on a pillow And praying.
And he said, Proverbs 3, 5, you know, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and all your ways.
Acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.
And I was like, wow, this is the MyPillow guy?
You know, I had never seen that side of him.
And I remember walking out of the stadium, each one of my family, we each had two pillows.
So we had, you know, an arm load of pillows walking out.
Eight pillows.
And I just, even more, at every step, I was filled with this compulsion to work for him.
Well, that event happened and it wasn't until six months later that they called me and they said, we want to call you in for an interview.
I don't know.
They got my resume and somehow it got to Mike's desk and he said, your name has come up three times in the past week.
I know I have to have you come in here.
This is a divine appointment.
So that's what happened.
It was going back almost two years, but the Lord had opened every door and I had other counterfeits that came in during that time.
I was kind of half-heartedly trying to pursue a career in real estate and I had met with some agents who wanted to train me.
And I just never felt quite right about it.
So you need to pray and you need to ask yourself, do I have peace about this or simply a compulsion to do something?
Have you been there?
I mean, I know I have, where you're just frantic to try to make something happen.
That is not, that is never a good sign.
When you, when you realize I'm trying to make this happen in my own power, I'm trying to push this outside of God's timing.
Now, like I said before, you won't always have peace.
My husband did not have peace about the job that he initially took.
This is the job he's at today, which is paving the way for both of my daughters to go to school there, which is an amazing move of God that God saw the end from the beginning.
God made this way before we ever knew we even needed it.
But at the time that Mike stepped into this new position, he was very nervous about it.
He didn't think he had what it took.
He thought, I've never run a school before.
I don't know anything about this.
But at every turn, God was showing him, I'm calling you to this.
And then there were people speaking it to him as well.
We prayed about this.
You're the one.
So you might not have peace.
But you're going to have a resignation, a knowing, this is what needs to happen.
I know that I need to do this.
I might not be super thrilled about it, but I know it's what needs to happen.
You have a knowing that the Holy Spirit gives you.
So it might not be all, you know, I just feel this overwhelming peace I had a situation happen with my daughter a short time back where she was going to a homecoming dance and she wanted to ride with a bunch of kids.
This 16-year-old kid was going to be driving a carload of kids to the dance.
And I didn't want her to do it.
I went to a little gathering down the block where this kid and his parents lived, and all the parents and kids were gathered there.
All the other parents were fine with the kids driving.
And I just had this disturbance from the minute I walked in the door.
I was just disturbed.
And I told her, I don't want you riding with these inexperienced drivers to the event.
I will drive you.
And then the mom of her date said, I'll drive them.
It's fine.
But you could tell they thought I was weird and they thought I was being a mother hen, but I didn't care.
And I went home and sat at the table and I bowed my head and prayed in the spirit because I was just so disturbed.
And then they, they went to go to the dance, carload of kids with my daughter and the Her date and the parents behind the carload of kids, they got in an accident right out here, the carload of kids.
Nobody was hurt, but you have to listen to those disturbed gut feelings that you get, that something is not right.
And this takes discernment.
It takes being in relationship and communion with the Holy Spirit that you're going to start to develop your discernment.
It doesn't just happen overnight.
It happens over time and relationship.
So praying, checking in to see if you have peace, and not just doing something because you compulsively are trying to make something happen.
We'll keep talking about this, when to wait on God and when to act, when we come right back on The Hope Report.

♪ MyPillow.com ♪ We are back on the Hope Report,
wrapping up our topic about when to wait on God and when to act.
So what we've covered so far is to ask yourself and ask God, just to check in about, first of all, have I saturated the process with prayer?
And if you haven't, then you can start right now.
I mean, start right now in this moment.
Don't go back into the past and rehash all the things you messed up.
Repent, if repentance is needed.
Lord, I'm sorry I didn't seek you first.
I'm sorry I tried to take this into my own hands.
I'm sorry I got ahead of you.
Forgive me.
And then pray.
Pray, Lord, I'm inviting you into this, into this situation, into this issue, into this problem.
Lord, I know that you are moving.
I know that you are my ever-present help in time of trouble.
So pray for him to open the right doors and close the wrong ones and believe that he will.
I mean, don't trust your circumstances.
I mean, what you're seeing in the natural is such a bad, bad, description or illustration of what God may be doing behind the scenes.
Even when we don't see it, He's working.
And we need to trust Him.
We need to trust Him above everything else.
And the more you trust Him, the more He comes through, and the more you see, You have the benefit of hindsight.
You're able to look back.
So when I look back over this process with my husband that I have kind of woven into the show today, is that back two years ago, we did not know what we were doing.
We just knew he needed to get out of his present job.
It was killing him.
It was extremely stressful.
It was very hard on the family.
And we knew that we needed to trust God.
And even though the opportunity that he eventually took, to him, he wasn't really sure.
God knew exactly what he was doing.
And he was also having a council of wise people speaking to him.
People who were praying over the process.
I mean, they were literally saying to him, we've prayed about this as a team and you're the one that we want.
We know that you're the one who is called to help our school.
And I can't even express my gratitude that he gets to go to work with people who pray for him, who pray together corporately, who do regular chapel services every week.
I never would have imagined this.
This is a dream come true.
I just, I can't express my gratitude to God for making a way for that, and even the way that he did it, in spite of us resisting, or maybe, you know, Mike being unsure if this was the right thing.
But when we're submitted and surrendered to him, we're going to be willing to do what he's asking us to do, even if we don't understand, even if it doesn't seem like what we had in mind, but we're Letting him take the lead.
Number two, do you have peace or do you simply have a compulsion to do something?
I know that I have been there so many times and Melody Beattie talks about this in her book, Codependent No More.
It's such a great book if you've struggled with being a people pleaser or codependency.
I think it's one of the 10 best self-help books of all time.
It's not a Christian book, but it has much practical advice about how to stop being overly responsible for people, how to stop losing yourself in your quest to fix the world and fix everybody else.
But people who are codependent have this raging urge to just do something.
Don't just, you know, I don't know what I'm going to do, but I got to do something and fast.
When you're feeling that way, when you're feeling yourself acting with great intensity and urgency, it's probably time to get quiet, get with God, and get your emotions under control.
That's another time when you don't want to make hasty decisions, when you're feeling super revved up, when you're feeling highly emotional.
You're not in a rational state of mind.
You're not in a good place to be able to make decisions.
This is why they always tell addicts, You know, who come out of addiction.
Don't jump into a relationship right away.
Don't make any major life decisions early in recovery because you're still on an emotional roller coaster.
So wait until you have peace about a decision and don't do anything when you're highly emotionally charged.
Let yourself get in the, get yourself in the presence of God.
Get quiet, get centered.
You'll feel peace like a river.
I mean, even, even if your circumstances are are turbulent still, you're going to feel that inner peace.
And number three, are you working and striving more than you are waiting and listening? I'm
telling you, this isn't a list that I pulled off the internet or anything.
This is things that I believe the Holy Spirit revealed to me.
Because it was an idea I had one day, when to wait on God and when to act.
And I prayed in the Spirit and then I listened to God.
And these were the points that I gleaned from what the Holy Spirit was telling me and also things that I would commonly do when I was in a panic to try to make something happen.
Are you working and striving more than you are waiting and listening?
So yes, it is important to take action.
It's important to not sit on your hands and wait for God to just come and rescue you.
You do need to be obedient to what he's leading you to do, but you also need to know when to just wait, when to hold steady.
You don't always need to be making gigantic strides in your life every day.
Sometimes it's okay to just hold steady.
You're not going backwards.
You're not going forwards.
You're just kind of in a holding pattern.
And as long as you're praying, seeking God, and you're continuing to listen for direction, it's okay to be in that space.
But just be aware when you are starting to strive.
In my whole life, this has been one of striving and performance, and I've wanted to stop doing that.
Just stop.
Just stop trying to perform.
Stop trying to earn approval.
Just be yourself.
Just be who God created you to be.
Let the chips fall where they may.
Are you working and striving, or are you waiting and listening?
Waiting on God.
Be still and know that I am God.
And number four, if you aren't receiving direction from God, wait.
Waiting isn't passive.
It is being faithful to the last thing God told you to do.
So that was my situation when I was waiting for God to open a door for me with my work situation after being an addiction counselor for 12 years, feeling burnt out and compassion fatigue.
Actually, the guy who gave me this Bible mentioned the word compassion fatigue.
He said it happened to his son.
And I said, I know exactly what you mean.
I know what that means.
I had been seeing 55 people a week for 12 years.
And it was wearing on me a lot, but I remained faithful to that, what I was in until God called me into the next thing, which was with Mike Lindell.
And this is what also what Jesus said in Acts chapter one.
He told them to wait.
He told them to wait until the Holy Spirit came.
Is it Acts one or Acts two?
I'm gonna run out of time here.
Sometimes because this is a New King James Bible, I can't find what I want as quickly as I could in
my other Bible.
And being assembled together with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait.
So it's Acts 1-4.
So he told the disciples to wait.
And we are to wait on God, too.
you have heard from me. Or John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with
the Holy Spirit not many days from now." So he told the disciples to wait. And we are
to wait on God too. When we aren't sensing a direction, when we aren't receiving direction,
when we are working and striving, when we find ourselves doing that, we need to just
step back, wait on Him, continue to pray, continue to press in, read the Word of God,
and be faithful to the last thing He told us to do.
And just rest assured and take heart in knowing that He is in that with you.
He's in it.
He's in the situation.
He's working on your behalf behind the scenes, getting things in place, even when we don't see it all the time, He is working.
Well, I just want to say thank you for joining me for this third anniversary celebration for Frank's Speech.
I hope that you check out all the incredible influencers and broadcasters that we have.
I'm so proud to be part of this lineup and part of this free speech network that Mike Lindell has put together.
It's like a dream come true being able to come and share the Word of God and to be myself and to just have a group of people with me who are Coming together to raise up other kingdom warriors in the body of Christ.
So I hope you're all on fire to go out and witness.
You don't have to save the world, but just speak life and share Jesus with that one person in front of you and just work in the circle of influence that you have and He will continue to expand your reach.
