[00:01:04] Welcome to the Megan Kelly Show and happy Thursday. [00:01:06] Welcome to another wild day in the news world. [00:01:08] Stephen A. Smith will be here in just a few minutes. [00:01:11] And later, another edition of Brit and Wit taking on cultural stories. [00:01:16] And there are a lot of them, including. [00:01:19] Okay. [00:01:21] The Duchess of Duplicity is out of control. [00:01:25] She spoke out earlier today in Australia where she was attending a youth mental health organization like conference. [00:01:33] And to the surprise of absolutely No one. [00:01:37] She made it in front of this group of suffering children all about herself. [00:01:44] Watch. [00:01:45] For now 10 years, every day for 10 years, I had been bullied and attacked. [00:01:49] And I was the most trolled person in the entire world, man or woman. [00:01:54] And I'm still here. [00:01:55] And so when I think of all of you and what you're experiencing, I think so much of that is having to realize that, no, that industry, that billion dollar industry that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty. [00:02:10] To get clicks, that's not going to change. [00:02:13] So you have to be stronger in that. [00:02:16] Okay, what is she even talking about? [00:02:19] Literally, the Daily Mail is not writing articles about the children in this mental health group. [00:02:27] No one's targeting those kids. [00:02:30] You got targeted because you wanted to be, because you sought out the most eligible man and bachelor in the world who was putty in your hands because you knew exactly how to exploit him. [00:02:42] Thanks to his mental trauma. [00:02:44] You targeted him. [00:02:45] He was on your vision board. [00:02:47] Don't lie about it because I'm the one who broke that news and I had it on a very good source, notwithstanding your lies about you had no idea who the royal family was or who he was. [00:02:56] Okay, sure. [00:02:57] And you made it happen because you wanted to feel important. [00:03:00] You wanted a short form to mega fame. [00:03:03] You weren't getting it done on suits. [00:03:05] So you decided to marry somebody way more famous than you and you sought to glom on to everything he had. [00:03:13] That made you a target because you became a large public figure. [00:03:18] Every public figure has been subjected to negative scrutiny, often very intense and unpleasant. [00:03:27] You had the benefit of universally loving and adoring, praise, fawning press for a year. [00:03:39] When you started dating him, a biracial American princess, oh my God, the US press went nuts. [00:03:46] The Brits, who are woker than we are, were self flagellating themselves in every paper for not having had anybody of color in the family. [00:03:56] They were bending over backwards to welcome you into the royal family and chastise themselves for not having had somebody as diverse and interesting as you prior to that. [00:04:05] It was pathetic. [00:04:08] And then you blew it by being a bitch and a bully to everyone around you. [00:04:13] I think we are now at over two dozen people who have left your employ, many, most in tears after the bullying you subjected them to, you perpetrated, not that was perpetrated against you. [00:04:29] And then when news of your terrible behavior got out, the press turned on you. [00:04:35] Yes, that's how life works. [00:04:38] Ask Blake Lively. [00:04:40] Who there's news on today, too, which we will get to. [00:04:42] That's what happens. [00:04:45] Stop going to groups of children. [00:04:48] Days ago, it was kids in a cancer hospital. [00:04:51] Now it's kids dealing with anxiety and depression and making it about yourself, your image rehab, or your need for publicity or to recast actual events of the past as something much more favorable to you or trying to create people who are much more sympathetic to you. [00:05:11] Just stop, okay? [00:05:13] Stop. [00:05:14] It's the classic, you know, you talk to somebody and they're like, oh, you know, I had a death in the family. [00:05:19] This person really important to me died. [00:05:20] And you're like, I had one too. [00:05:22] Let me tell you about mine. [00:05:23] No, shut up. [00:05:26] And honestly, like to try to bond with them, like I was the most trolled person in the world. [00:05:31] You were the most beloved person in the world. [00:05:32] You were the most, you, okay, and privileged, the most privileged. [00:05:37] Like you can relate to anything, anything that these kids are going through. [00:05:43] Because you've had some negative articles written about you while you sat inside your castle with your tiara on and the crown jewels. [00:05:51] She's so clueless. [00:05:52] She has no idea why we don't like her. [00:05:56] She thinks it's because we've bought misleading press coverage. [00:06:00] No, no, we've watched you. [00:06:02] We've watched you get every advantage in the world and then cry to ITV that no one asked about how you were doing. [00:06:09] We watched you bag the elephant, Prince Harry. [00:06:13] Going to Africa together, going on world tours, people fawning, falling at your feet with praise and admiration. [00:06:21] And then you going on Oprah, sticking a knife in the Queen and her husband, who was dying in the hospital at that moment, letting people believe they might be racists. [00:06:32] As it turns out, you appear to have been talking about Queen Camilla, soon to be Queen, and others within the royal family. [00:06:40] But you wouldn't do anyone the courtesy of saying it explicitly because you wanted to tar everyone with that brush. [00:06:47] You are a bully, and that is why the press turned on you. [00:06:52] And now she has a lecture for these kids on how you just have to be stronger. [00:06:56] Why don't you try being stronger? [00:06:59] You sue every other publication that says something negative about you because you have such a thin skin, because you did your little shoot right to the top of the public figure scale by design and then couldn't handle it when you got there. [00:07:17] Honestly, there is something. [00:07:19] Beneficial about becoming a public figure more slowly. [00:07:25] You take baby steps, both on your burgeoning fame and on the downsides of it. [00:07:33] And you skipping that, which was your intention, your goal, which you successfully achieved, has cost you the wisdom that you would have attained had you earned it step by step. [00:07:48] So, shame on you for using your time with children to make it about yourself, to try to rehab yourself by referencing experiences that have absolutely no bearing to these children. [00:07:59] Are these a bunch of child actors? [00:08:01] I don't think so. [00:08:03] It's social media and negative comments here and there that these kids may or may not be seeing on Snapchat is not the same thing as you earning negative press from the British and American tabloids and mainstream. [00:08:19] It's the loathing of you has gone mainstream thanks to one person, you, with an assist from your husband who's become even more whiny and pathetic. [00:08:32] He's talking to the I'm going to get to this in the second, believe it or not, this is a second hour segment. [00:08:36] I just like, I, I, whatever, that this woman's self pity is such a turn off to me, but he's just as bad as she is. [00:08:46] He's talking about how incredibly anxious and depressed and overly obsessive. [00:08:52] What's the word he uses? [00:08:54] I was actually taken aback by it. [00:08:56] Completely overwhelmed. [00:08:58] Cool. [00:08:58] Completely overwhelmed, we all feel. [00:09:01] We do? [00:09:02] I don't feel completely overwhelmed. [00:09:04] I don't feel anxious, stressed, helpless, powerless, and completely overwhelmed. [00:09:08] What are you completely overwhelmed about? [00:09:09] How big is your mansion in Montecito that you force us to watch in the promos for your wife's stupid shows that all fail? [00:09:17] But that keeps getting picked up because her Hollywood power agent makes it happen. [00:09:21] And she squeezed that last bit of goodwill out of the royal title to get to land a Netflix deal and you, your book deal, and then the two of you, your Spotify deal. [00:09:30] What are you completely overwhelmed about? [00:09:33] Honestly, he's obsessing over the death of his mother, which was tragic. [00:09:37] Okay, it was like 30 years ago, and he's still bringing it up. [00:09:43] Most people have lost somebody very close to them in the family. [00:09:47] Some of us also lost parents right around that same age. [00:09:51] We went on to deal with it, to live our lives, to fill up our hearts and our heads with other more positive experiences, to connect with other humans, see the goodness of humankind. [00:10:05] We didn't say what he is saying today, we didn't stay in the fetal position until we realized we needed mental health assistance. [00:10:14] Okay, like this guy is a grown man. [00:10:17] He's a father now of two, and he's talking about himself in the fetal position, feeling again. === Gas Prices and Political Trouble (05:35) === [00:10:25] Completely overwhelmed by what? [00:10:29] Your $100 million? [00:10:31] Your role as a prince? [00:10:33] Your connection to the King of England? [00:10:35] What is it that's overwhelming you? [00:10:38] This is like, I can't with these two. [00:10:39] More on that in the second hour. [00:10:41] Okay. [00:10:42] That's a tease, believe it or not. [00:10:44] All right. [00:10:45] We're going to start here, start after the start with the latest in the race for the president in the Democratic primary. [00:10:51] And we've been telling you about all the issues with Republicans these days, and there are a lot, but Democrats. [00:10:57] Might have an even bigger political problem on their hands. [00:10:59] And that is because, and this is so amazing Kamala Harris, she's going to run. [00:11:04] She's going to win. [00:11:05] No, she's not going to win. [00:11:06] Remember how she was like, we're going to win? [00:11:08] No, you're not going to win. [00:11:09] Although, God forbid, I mean, like, never say never because given the state of the Republican Party right now, can we really rule it out? [00:11:16] But she's gonna run. [00:11:17] She has quietly become the clear frontrunner by double digits in the Democrat primary. [00:11:24] Just when you think, like, shit, like the news cycle's been so bad for Republicans and like it's just been depressing, you know? [00:11:31] And now it's like God sprinkles a little moon dust on the cycle and Kamala Harris comes out and says she's thinking about running and she turns out to be the frontrunner. [00:11:43] In the RCP average of all polls, she's in first place at 26.9%. [00:11:47] That's not just one poll, that's the average of all polling. [00:11:51] 26.9, followed by Gavin Newsom at 18.9, and Pete Buttigieg back at 10.7, AOC at 7.9. [00:11:58] Here's what's interesting about it Gavin Newsom has universal name recognition too. [00:12:04] It's not like Pete Buttigieg or Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, by the way, he's at 6.8. [00:12:10] Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, he's at 5.2. [00:12:12] Everybody knows who Gavin Newsom is in this country now. [00:12:15] He's been ubiquitous this past couple of years. [00:12:18] So she's crushing him, notwithstanding the fact that they both have universal name recognition. [00:12:24] The Democrats know she's an idiot, but they're getting ready to nominate her again. [00:12:31] Okay, we'll see. [00:12:32] I mean, they may be getting ready to nominate her again. [00:12:35] I know you can make a strong case that's name recognition. [00:12:38] She was the VP, whatever. [00:12:40] I think there's more to it than that, given that he also has the same name recognition or probably close, close to what she has. [00:12:47] The trend line is very clear. [00:12:49] She's gaining, not losing support. [00:12:53] It's incredible. [00:12:53] How? [00:12:54] How can that be? [00:12:55] She is ahead in seven of the last nine polls, including the last four. [00:12:59] In the two most recent, she is up double digits. [00:13:03] Gavin Newsom, who many do perceive as the frontrunner, has not led a poll since February. [00:13:08] So, despite blowing a billion dollars in 107 days, only to get walloped by Donald Trump, popular vote, all seven swing states went for him, not her. [00:13:20] I may get my biggest wish, my birthday wish, my wish at New Year's Day, and Kamala Harris may be the Democratic nominee again. [00:13:30] Like, it's amazing. [00:13:32] How great. [00:13:33] Would it be to watch a JD Vance or a Marco Rubio have a one on one debate with Kamala Harris? [00:13:40] And Kamala, she seems to know she's in a good position, which is surprising given her unbelievable lack of self awareness. [00:13:47] She's in the Carolinas this week. [00:13:49] Where you say? [00:13:50] In the Carolinas, yes. [00:13:52] As part of her book tour, allegedly. [00:13:54] And she posted this video, not about her book, but about gas prices on X last night. [00:14:01] Hey, everyone. [00:14:02] So I'm here in Charlotte. [00:14:04] Since the start of Trump's war of choice, it's $15 more every time you fill up your tank of gas. [00:14:11] The price of diesel has now gone up 80% since the start of the war. [00:14:16] And you best believe that's going to carry over to how much you're paying for all the goods that are being transported on those semis. [00:14:23] We've got a president who is paying more attention to what he thinks is in his best political interest and personal interest as opposed to what is in the best interest of working people in America. [00:14:34] Okay, clearly that had been sped up because we all know she doesn't talk like that. [00:14:38] She's meandering. [00:14:39] She's got vocal fry and she takes like 10 seconds to spit out two words. [00:14:44] But, you know, frankly, I appreciate it because I'm short on time. [00:14:48] First of all, diesel is up, but it's not up 80%. [00:14:52] It's up 50%. [00:14:54] So let's get our facts straight. [00:14:56] Just under 50%, I think it's 49.2%. [00:14:59] But is Kamala Harris really trying to make us believe she suddenly cares about gas prices? [00:15:04] She cares about gas prices? [00:15:05] You want to talk about record setting gas prices? [00:15:07] That's when you. [00:15:08] We're the sitting vice president. [00:15:09] That's when we saw record setting gas prices. [00:15:11] It happened at the height of the Ukraine war in June 2022 when regular gas climbed up to $5.02 a gallon. [00:15:23] Diesel got up to $5.82. [00:15:26] And you were fine with that because you were trying actively to decimate the oil and gas business. [00:15:34] You made it very clear. [00:15:35] You wanted to ban fracking, you wanted permits denied for more drilling. [00:15:39] You were the opposite of drill, baby drill. [00:15:42] And that was fine by you because you hated fossil fuels and you felt like an environmental warrior and you didn't give a shit about rising gas prices. [00:15:49] In fact, when they were at that peak back in 2022 after the Ukraine war, you lectured us on how it was like our civic duty to suck that up. [00:15:58] So you can't have it both ways, madam. === Consolidate Your Insurance Policies (02:13) === [00:16:01] These are some of the things you're going to have to listen to if you do, in fact, decide to get into this race again. [00:18:05] Do you think she's going to do it? [00:18:07] Maybe, but it's by default because who else do you have right now that has stepped up? [00:18:12] They've had a couple of years. === Republican Caution on Policy Shifts (15:24) === [00:18:14] We haven't seen anybody. [00:18:16] You know, I've been on the record talking about how I think they're leaderless right now. [00:18:20] Who's the definitive individual? [00:18:22] You know, you got a lot of. [00:18:23] Look at the candidates that you put up there Gavin Newsom. [00:18:26] All you're going to do is look at the state of California and the inordinate amount of problems that they have in that state, and you're going to say, no way in hell. [00:18:32] You're going to look at Pete Buttigieg. [00:18:35] He doesn't move a lot of people, even though he's respected by some, particularly on the left. [00:18:39] He's not going to move a lot of people. [00:18:40] You look at Josh Shapiro. [00:18:42] Obviously, the things that have been going on in Israel, the war in Gaza, and stuff like that, and the fomenting or the growth of anti Semitism that's unfortunately been sifting through this country, you know, that's going to be something that's going to be counted against him. [00:18:57] Senator Mark Kelly, I don't know how much he's going to resonate with people right now. [00:19:01] The only thing that he's done that we've really, really noticed and paid attention to is the fact that, you know what, Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. [00:19:09] Definitely went after him after he, you know, wrote the play the part with the videos instructing U.S. soldiers not to follow illegal orders. [00:19:18] And, you know, I took a lot of heat when I called him on the carpet for that because I was saying, I can say that. [00:19:24] American civilians can say that, but every military person that I've spoken to says if you serve in the military, you know better than doing that because essentially you're implying that the commander in chief would give an illegal order. [00:19:38] And that in and of itself can cause you trouble. [00:19:41] So you have to know better than coming out and being a part of that kind of noise that was aimed in the direction of the president and the secretary of defense or obviously the secretary to the Department of War. [00:19:53] So he didn't know better than that. [00:19:55] And now he's got some problems with that. [00:19:57] Essentially, by default, that means Kamala Harris could be at the top of the heap. [00:20:01] I don't think that would be a mistake, obviously, because I think that she's had her chance, her bites at the apple, not just once, but twice. [00:20:08] In 2020, she couldn't even make it to Iowa. [00:20:10] In this last election, you had 107 days. [00:20:13] That's true, but you also had a billion and a half dollars. [00:20:15] You understand? [00:20:16] And you were the upgrade from Joe Biden, and you still managed to lose that. [00:20:21] I don't know how the Democratic Party will rally behind her being the candidate yet again, particularly after her book was calling out Josh Shapiro one minute, Gavin Newsom the other. [00:20:31] Et cetera, et cetera. [00:20:32] But who knows? [00:20:34] So here's the interesting thing the Democrats are going to be in a position if they don't select her, which is the same one they tried to avoid when Biden was forced out. [00:20:43] They did not want to be seen as stepping over a black woman, given how important black women are to Democrat elections. [00:20:52] So there was a large segment of the Democrat political class saying, We have no choice. [00:20:58] We've got to give it to her. [00:20:59] She's the sitting vice president. [00:21:01] If we try to bypass her for a Josh Shapiro or somebody like that, we're going to get killed. [00:21:06] You cannot bypass a black woman, female, like the VP for a Josh Shapiro, white guy. [00:21:12] Well, now we're going to have a primary this time around. [00:21:14] That's right. [00:21:15] And If she gets bypassed, in other words, doesn't win, and she loses to the guy who's in the number two position, who is a white, straight, male Christian, Gavin Newsom, are they in the same position of having to look like they cast her aside? [00:21:36] They didn't want the black guy? [00:21:37] No, no, no. [00:21:37] You ain't got to worry about that. [00:21:38] I think that if you're the Democratic Party, you're looking at certain things that the president and his administration have been doing. [00:21:44] Obviously, if you're on the left, you disagree with a couple of things. [00:21:47] You're looking at the employment gap. [00:21:50] You're looking at. [00:21:51] The big beautiful bill that they don't believe hasn't been that big and beautiful. [00:21:55] Nearly a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicaid and obviously about 187 billion when it came to the SNAP program and stuff like that. [00:22:01] You're looking at federal employees that obviously a lot of black folks are definitely federal employees and the dissipation that has taken place there. [00:22:10] So your thinking is, excuse me, desperate times call for desperate measures. [00:22:14] This man has to be gone even though he's going to be scheduled to be gone in 2028 because he's not going to circumvent the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution and run for a third term. [00:22:21] So now you're looking at JD Vance, you're looking at a Marco Rubio potentially. [00:22:25] Or who knows who else. [00:22:26] And that's going to be your competition. [00:22:27] Their mentality is going to be, and it needs to be, whatever it takes. [00:22:32] We don't care if it's male, it's female, it's black, it's white. [00:22:35] We got to win because you don't have the House, you don't have the Senate, and you don't have the White House. [00:22:39] And you got to hope that all of this momentum that seems to be shifting or tilting a little bit left is something that's going to be to your benefit come the midterms. [00:22:47] But you don't even know that as of yet. [00:22:49] So because of that reality, I think that they understand that it can't be about what the Democrats, in my opinion, have done. [00:22:57] Since Obama. [00:22:58] They didn't do this with Obama, Megan. [00:23:00] But since Obama, this is the one thing that I have railed against the Democratic Party for a long time about. [00:23:06] The Republicans, the Republicans' constituent out there, give them credit for this. [00:23:10] You put DeSantis, Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, or whomever in their face, and they said, to hell with all of you. [00:23:17] We want him, as in Donald Trump. [00:23:20] The Democratic Party, whether it was Hillary Rodham Clinton, whether it was Joe Biden, whether it was Kamala Harris, they said, as a party, this is who we want. [00:23:27] To the voters, and we're picking your candidates for you. [00:23:31] That is the difference that has hurt the Democratic Party. [00:23:33] They haven't been about the people, and until they get back to being that, they ain't gonna stand a chance against the right because the people on the right are picking the candidates. [00:23:45] That is not the case with the left, at least the last three elections, and that's what has to change. [00:23:50] So, what's interesting from my perspective, though, is if they go with Gavin Newsom, let's just say, because he's second in command there on the polls, I mean, California is a disaster. [00:23:59] Right. [00:24:00] Stephen, it's a disaster. [00:24:02] Every metric. [00:24:03] Steve Hilton was on the other day, Republican front runner, period, not just Republican front runner for the California gubernatorial race right now, and was ticking through the number of stats, like economic stats on how California has collapsed. [00:24:17] Its education system has collapsed. [00:24:18] Its economy. [00:24:19] The only reason they have anything positive to report on it is because so many people live in California. [00:24:24] So, if you just look at the number of dollars earned, it'll look big, but that's not because of government. [00:24:29] It's in spite of government. [00:24:31] Today, there is an article out in City Journal, a great publication, all about how they're giving out transgender care to illegals who they're housing in homeless shelters in California right now. [00:24:51] So, you're illegal, you are taking the spot of an American in a homeless shelter. [00:24:56] On top of that, you get taxpayer funded transgender hormones, whatever it is, including surgeries. [00:25:04] One of the people that they interviewed said he got breast implants on the taxpayer dime and was waiting for his so called bottom surgery on the taxpayer dime as well. [00:25:15] I mean, oh, we have the soundbite? [00:25:16] Okay, let's watch that. [00:25:18] What is your name again? [00:25:19] Jacqueline. [00:25:20] Jacqueline. [00:25:21] This is the first time I live in a shelter. [00:25:24] Yeah. [00:25:25] A lot of Latino here. [00:25:26] So definitely some are migrants or undocumented. [00:25:29] I've been there. [00:25:30] And me as a trans woman, I feel safe. [00:25:34] Were you able to get the hormones or, you know? [00:25:38] Yeah, I did that with my doctor. [00:25:41] So, Medi Cal, you got the breast implants? [00:25:43] Yes. [00:25:44] Wow, taxpayer funded. [00:25:46] So, here in California, they gave you the breast implant here? [00:25:51] Yes. [00:25:52] Free? [00:25:52] Yeah. [00:25:53] Wow. [00:25:54] Congratulations. [00:25:56] Do you feel like that's a good benefit for other migrants here in California? [00:26:00] Yeah, even though you're undocumented, you can get him. [00:26:06] Did you do bottom surgery? [00:26:08] I'm waiting for that one. [00:26:09] Wow, you're waiting for bottom surgery. [00:26:11] Okay. [00:26:11] Are you happy with the results? [00:26:13] Yes. [00:26:15] How does the governor of that state become the Democrat nominee? [00:26:18] I'm going to tell you how. [00:26:19] And this is where it gets really, really tricky. [00:26:22] But I'm going to say this, especially to somebody like you and others on the right. [00:26:27] When we look at some folks, and you know, I'm a registered independent, lean left on social issues, lean right fiscally, we know that. [00:26:35] Here's my deal. [00:26:36] I'm a registered independent, too. [00:26:37] Got you, got you. [00:26:38] I didn't know that, Megan, but thank you for telling me that. [00:26:40] Here's the deal, and this is what people haven't accepted. [00:26:44] When it comes to the progressive left, folks are looking at someplace like the example that you just pointed out in the state of California. [00:26:51] And Megan, what they're thinking is, oh, it's incompetence. [00:26:54] It's incompetence reigning. [00:26:55] Look at what they're doing, right? [00:26:57] These people, they just don't know any better. [00:26:59] No, they do. [00:27:01] They don't care. [00:27:02] You have some people in this country that hate America and they want to see it burn. [00:27:09] Figuratively speaking, they want to see wholesale changes. [00:27:13] Some of them do. [00:27:15] Whether it's migrants legally or illegally here, or some of the progressives, the extreme, I'm talking about the extreme left, not the centrist, but the extreme left, you have some of these people that want to see America dismantled by the seams. [00:27:29] And a lot of people think they don't know what they're doing. [00:27:31] No. [00:27:32] They want that to happen. [00:27:34] They want America to resemble a socialist state. [00:27:38] They want that. [00:27:39] And so a lot of times people are not accepting that. [00:27:42] They're like, This, you got to see what Gavin Newsom in California is doing. [00:27:45] You can't like that. [00:27:46] No, there are people there that do like it. [00:27:48] I've seen people that said, I'll tell you a little quick story, Megan. [00:27:52] I had somebody look me in the face and said, I don't give a damn if I have to pay 75% of my money in taxes. [00:27:59] As long as everybody in the country has health care, I'm good. [00:28:03] I looked at that person and said, You lost your damn mind. [00:28:06] You get the hell away from me. [00:28:07] I don't want to talk to you. [00:28:08] I don't want to listen to you. [00:28:10] 75% of my money going to taxes to a government that's accumulated over $39 trillion in debt, and I'm supposed to believe they're going to know what to do with my money? [00:28:19] You must be on drugs. [00:28:20] I told the person to get the hell out of my face. [00:28:22] I don't even want to talk to you. [00:28:23] I don't even want to talk to them, right? [00:28:25] And I walked away from it. [00:28:26] And it was at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. [00:28:28] I almost cussed them out there in the hotel lobby. [00:28:30] That's how bad it was because I thought it was ridiculous, right? [00:28:33] Here's the flip side, though. [00:28:35] Here's where the Republicans have to be careful. [00:28:37] Because when you say otherwise, you're alluding to the importance of what you've lamented about America first and what has this president been doing. [00:28:49] When you look at some of the things that he's been doing, some of the decisions that he has been making, he has not been about America's being first in a lot of people's eyes who supported him. [00:29:01] And when you consider that combined with the fact that he ain't running for the next election in 2028, well, who is it that's going to come along that's going to convince you that you need to stand behind them and support them and that they're going to be about what you voted them to be about? [00:29:17] That's where it gets tricky. [00:29:19] So now it comes to Gavin Newsom coming down the pipe. [00:29:22] Looks very smooth. [00:29:23] Hair slick back, looking like a wannabe Pat Riley, former coach, now president of basketball operations. [00:29:28] The hair works, the suits look good. [00:29:30] He looks very presidential, very articulate, smooth, tall, handsome, the whole bit. [00:29:36] He looks the part and he can talk it with the best of them. [00:29:40] So you got that going on without having Trump to go up against. [00:29:45] And the combination of those two things, if the right ain't careful, you're going to lose the. [00:29:50] You might be in trouble in the midterms and you're definitely going to be in trouble in 2028. [00:29:55] That's where it all gets very interesting, right? [00:29:57] Yeah. [00:29:57] Let's talk about the right in 2028, because right now the right is divided over the war, over the Iran war. [00:30:04] And it's, you know, there's definitely a fissure cutting right through the coalition that elected Trump, which includes non Republicans too, but just, you know, there's the sort of America first, and then there's core MAGA. [00:30:16] MAGA kind of by definition is people who just support Trump no matter what he does. [00:30:20] And then there's the rest of the Republican Party, which includes a large number of America firsters. [00:30:25] Anyway, there's a divide. [00:30:26] And it's, I can't really say publicly or in any way that there's a divide between JD Vance and Marco Rubio on the war. [00:30:35] What we know from the New York Times is that JD Vance spoke up against it and really strongly pushed Trump not to do it for many reasons, including that it would completely fracture his coalition and the Republican Party. [00:30:47] It would violate a campaign promise. [00:30:49] And we know that Marco Rubio called, quote, bullshit, that's a quote, on what Netanyahu had promised we could achieve easily when Trump met with him the day before in the Situation Room. [00:31:01] So, but. [00:31:02] As we head towards 2028, and as soon as we're done with these midterms, that contest starts. [00:31:07] Those two, whether they're explicit about it or not, are going to be like two silverback gorillas, you know, with each other. [00:31:14] Like Rubio's basically said, if JD runs, he's the nominee. [00:31:19] But let's face it, Marco Rubio has been running for president and in politics a lot longer than JD Vance. [00:31:24] And he may sense some weakness on JD's part because he's so tightly linked to Trump. [00:31:31] More so, you could make the case than Marco, even though they're both very linked. [00:31:35] And maybe he's going to sense an opportunity, Stephen A. [00:31:37] And I don't know whether he's going to want to let it pass him by. [00:31:39] This go around, or whether he might contest this or sort of just generate a bunch of press that's damaging to JD to the point where it's like, for the good of the party, I got to do it, which is going to not heal the rift. [00:31:51] It's going to divide MAGA further, right? [00:31:53] Everybody's going to choose their guy and have a fight. [00:31:57] And then do the GOPers go into the real contest weakened because they are likely to have a pretty brutal primary battle of their own? [00:32:06] Maybe I shouldn't say are likely to. [00:32:08] They might. [00:32:09] They might. [00:32:10] Well, From my centrist vantage point, I'm going to tell you that I favor Marco Rubio heavily. [00:32:17] Former senator, secretary of state, national security advisor. [00:32:23] I think that he has comported himself like an adult in the room. [00:32:28] And when I think about the presidency, I think that's incredibly important. [00:32:32] He can snap back at somebody with the best of them. [00:32:36] As he snapped back at the Democratic senator that said if he had to do it all over again, he wouldn't have voted for him. [00:32:42] And Marco Rubio, that soundbite, Megan, I'm sure you know of it, where he says, I consider that a compliment. [00:32:47] That means I'm doing my job. [00:32:49] Because Marco Rubio has comported himself like an adult in the room. [00:32:53] I don't trust JD Vance. [00:32:55] I just don't. [00:32:56] And the reason, and the reason, because I think he aspires to be Trump like instead of being his own man. [00:33:02] That's my personal impression of what I see when I see him. [00:33:05] I'm not questioning his acumen, his knowledge, his political savviness. [00:33:08] I thought when he debated on the stage against Tim Waltz, not that that was a big deal as we've come to learn, but I thought that he took him to school during the vice presidential debates and stuff like that. [00:33:18] But I think that, you know, the folks that on too many occasions, He doesn't seem to be an individual that would be interested in governing for all. [00:33:28] It would be in governing for his clique of people. [00:33:31] Whereas when I think about Marco Rubio, I think that he's more expansive than that. [00:33:36] And I think he's more of a presidential figure. [00:33:38] That's just my personal opinion. === Nuclear Diplomacy and Regime Change (16:01) === [00:33:39] Having said all of that, there is no doubt that JD will be formidable. [00:33:43] He's young, he's smart, he's sharp. [00:33:45] We all know this. [00:33:46] But I also think that, you know, one of the things that I've been on the record that really disgusts me is the fawning over the president, which is why I appreciate some of the things that I've been seeing from you lately. [00:33:56] When you've been going after Trump, you can agree with him all day. [00:33:59] I don't care about that, Megan. [00:34:00] If you agree, you agree. [00:34:01] If you disagree, you disagree. [00:34:02] But it's the fawning. [00:34:03] I literally, when I appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher, I literally said, if you're bringing these folks, if you're bringing him a cup of coffee, you have to pause and talk about how wonderful and marvelous he is. [00:34:15] And he does everything right. [00:34:16] And with a great leadership, it's like, wait a minute now, just do your damn job. [00:34:20] The one person that has been, that has represented that kind of veneer, that kind of ambiance and persona about himself is Marco Rubio. [00:34:28] Ain't about that. [00:34:29] He's about doing the job, whatever the job calls for him to do. [00:34:32] I don't get that impression from JD. [00:34:34] And I think the reason why that's relevant is because when you look come 2028, yeah, it might require some kind of endorsement from Trump to some degree. [00:34:44] But there's tens of millions of people that are against Trump. [00:34:47] And when you see somebody who ain't him that aspires to be Trump like, it could end up counting against them. [00:34:54] I don't think that's something Marco Rubio has to worry about. [00:34:57] And I certainly don't believe that we'll be in a position to question his qualifications. [00:35:00] If he is the GOP nominee for the presidency of the United States of America, particularly in a country where we have millions upon millions of people who weren't born here or who even were born here but come from Latino ancestry and things of that nature, the fact that he's bilingual, that his ancestors are Cuban, that he's as smart as a whip, that he is as accomplished and knows where the bodies lie per se because of the positions that he's held within our government, [00:35:27] I think goes a long way towards making him a far more formidable candidate than JD Vance, in my humble estimation. [00:35:37] That's all very interesting. [00:35:38] And I do, I completely agree with you on the weird fawning comments nonstop, like at the cabinet meetings and even the press conferences when the FBI announced that they had captured the pipe bomber. [00:35:48] It's like, oh my God, all right, it's very Pravda esque. [00:35:51] Just stop. [00:35:52] We don't do that here in America. [00:35:53] Just get down to business. [00:35:54] Get down to business. [00:35:55] We get it. [00:35:55] You're trying to like pander to the boss. [00:35:57] Do it on your own time, right? [00:35:58] We have business to take care of. [00:35:59] It's just like when people come at you, they'll say something about Meghan Kelly. [00:36:02] I was like, wait, wait, wait, wait a minute now. [00:36:04] She feels the way she feels. [00:36:06] She's attacking the issues. [00:36:07] Now, if you agree with her, agree with her. [00:36:09] If you disagree with her, disagree with her. [00:36:11] But don't tell me she's kissing anybody's behind. [00:36:13] That ain't the Megyn Kelly I see. [00:36:14] Oh, I don't know what the hell you're talking about. [00:36:16] She don't play that game. [00:36:18] So let's stop that nonsense. [00:36:19] I think there are a lot of people who would love it if I kissed a lot more. [00:36:22] But I'm not built like that. [00:36:24] Neither am I. [00:36:25] I admire the president and I remain a supporter. [00:36:27] I just, I'm very against the war. [00:36:29] So there's no way I can have a direct support in the same business. [00:36:33] I haven't been a supporter of him. [00:36:34] You can't have a direct relationship, an honest relationship with your audience unless you tell them how you actually feel. [00:36:38] That's true. [00:36:38] Totally true. [00:36:39] Totally true. [00:36:40] And I'm not satisfied. [00:36:41] I don't like the. [00:36:42] Listen, I interviewed Leon Panetta, former chief of staff, former CIA director, former secretary of defense. [00:36:48] I interviewed him yesterday. [00:36:50] And one of the things that he made a point of, and you need to know this, not that you don't, you probably do, but just in case you didn't see the interview yesterday, he said, hey, Trump was right to attack Iran. [00:37:02] This is a Democrat now that served under two presidents, Clinton and Obama. [00:37:07] And he said he was right to attack him. [00:37:09] He said, but there seems to be no plan. [00:37:12] There seems to be no way out. [00:37:14] He said, I'm fearful of an endless war, that we walked into this unprepared. [00:37:20] That was his issue. [00:37:22] My point was, thank God somebody said it. [00:37:24] Because I said, am I confused? [00:37:26] Did I hear wrong? [00:37:27] I saw numerous administrations saying that Iran needed to be dealt with, that they've been killing American citizens and they've been, you know, the number one sponsor of terrorism in this world and all of this other stuff for the last several decades, that we needed to deal with them. [00:37:41] So this president goes out. [00:37:43] and tries to deal with them and now we're complaining. [00:37:45] Leon Panetta's position was different. [00:37:47] He was saying, no, I'm not complaining about the initial attack. [00:37:50] What I'm complaining about is the clear lack of preparation that obviously is in play because we don't seem to know what to do with ourselves and we didn't seem to be prepared for the Strait of Amuse to be, you know, compromised by the Iranians and stuff like that. [00:38:06] He was pointing out all of those things and I said, okay, that's more like it. [00:38:09] That's exactly why people should have a problem with it. [00:38:12] So I get where you're coming from with that. [00:38:14] Yeah, maybe I'd feel differently if we had just gone in, bombed the Ayatollah, and moved out, although that's fraught with peril, too, just given the way things are. [00:38:23] First of all, he had issued the fatwa saying we're not actually going to do a nuke because he knew the position that would put Iran in. [00:38:30] Now we appear to have more radical leadership in there. [00:38:33] And on top of that, we killed the leader of Shiite Islam during Ramadan. [00:38:38] Like I've just been, you know, for 25 years covering these wars, and they have ongoing controversies. [00:38:42] It'll result in domestic terror. [00:38:44] Americans will get killed as a result of this because we create jihadis and more extremists. [00:38:49] And fighting these insurgencies, which is what these wars turn into, has proven very, very tricky for American forces. [00:38:55] You know, it's like General Stanley McChrystal said at the beginning. [00:38:58] He said, if you like, you know, those who are cheering the war, I hope you enjoy this phase of the bombs dropping because this is the best phase of war where our guys are stellar out there. [00:39:08] They have precision accuracy for the most part. [00:39:10] There was a serious, serious misstep with the bombing of that girl's school. [00:39:15] But he was saying it goes downhill from here because getting out of wars is a lot trickier than starting. [00:39:20] To me, here's where the right has to make a decision. [00:39:24] That would mean in some people's eyes that more diplomacy is the order of the day because you don't want to engage in regime change, which obviously this could end up leading to because if you kill the leader but his son is the successor, well, that hostility is not going to dissipate. [00:39:43] If anything, it's going to grow and it's going to make more enemies for the United States, right? [00:39:48] So, what's the answer? [00:39:49] When you've had others who tried to engage in diplomacy, that was considered weakness. [00:39:55] So, now we got a decision to make. [00:39:57] Is diplomacy the order of the day? [00:39:59] Or do we want to send troops and handle our business so we don't have to worry about them having the nuclear weapon? [00:40:05] Because when Leon Panetta came on my show yesterday, he said, I have seen the intelligence. [00:40:11] They would have had a nuclear weapon in a month. [00:40:15] He has not seen the intelligence. [00:40:16] That's a fucking lie. [00:40:17] Okay, that's what he said. [00:40:18] He saw intelligence years ago. [00:40:19] That's what he said. [00:40:20] The current ODNI. [00:40:21] Okay, he said it, but the current ODNI, the woman who oversees all of the intelligence agencies, briefed Congress before we did all this and said, there is no intelligence that Iran is anywhere close to getting into the war. [00:40:32] Well, he was saying that to support the president. [00:40:34] He was saying that to support the president. [00:40:35] But here's what. [00:40:36] I agree. [00:40:37] You can say all, but it's not true. [00:40:39] Help me out here, Megan. [00:40:40] Help me out here. [00:40:40] Let me ask you, because I don't know. [00:40:42] I don't know. [00:40:42] I mean, I'm new to this, Megan. [00:40:43] I'm new to this. [00:40:44] Okay, I'm a baby. [00:40:45] I'm taking baby steps. [00:40:46] I'm new to this. [00:40:47] I need your help. [00:40:47] Here's the deal. [00:40:49] What a. [00:40:50] What am I supposed to believe if you're the former chief of staff of the White House, a former defense secretary, and a former director for the CIA? [00:41:00] Is it not possible, even though you ain't supposed to have access to it, that somehow, someway, you might have seen things that absolutely were not? [00:41:07] He was stripped of all his access to it. [00:41:09] Trump, one of the first things Trump did when he took office was to strip all people, including Panetta, of their security clearances so they could no longer have access to anything that you and I could have access to. [00:41:19] But you've been a reporter for years. [00:41:20] You've been an exceptional reporter for years. [00:41:21] I've been in the business for many years on the sports side, right? [00:41:25] We've made a career of getting access to stuff we ain't supposed to have access to, Megan. [00:41:31] I know you have. [00:41:31] You're telling me that. [00:41:32] I know you have. [00:41:34] Why would Tulsi Gabbard, who unquestionably has access to all of it, brief in her official role, brief Congress just weeks before we started this war by saying there is no intelligence that Iran is supposed to get in the nuclear bomb? [00:41:50] And it wasn't just them, international authorities, no intercontinental ballistic missiles for at least a decade. [00:41:55] I mean, I could go down the list. [00:41:56] Don't confuse it. [00:41:58] I'm not pretending. [00:41:59] Who said I had a feeling? [00:41:59] I'm not pretending to know. [00:42:01] I'm saying to you, I'm saying to you, us being in the business, we've made a career by getting access to stuff that the average person doesn't get access to. [00:42:12] What I'm saying to you. [00:42:13] So I'm trying to see your theory through. [00:42:15] So Leon Panetta, even though he's been out of office, public office, for a decade plus, he had access to super secret information that they were close to getting a bomb that neither the president nor Tulsi Gabbard, the current director of national intelligence, had access to. [00:42:28] No, I'm not saying. [00:42:29] No, he never implied that. [00:42:30] What I'm saying to you is that's what he's going off of old information. [00:42:33] Okay, that's fine. [00:42:34] And I'm saying to you, in my mind, here's what I was thinking. [00:42:38] That's all. [00:42:39] It's possible that when you've been in government for spending decades the way that he has been, these same people that are looking in front of your face saying, We want nothing to do with you. [00:42:49] They don't talk to you. [00:42:50] We ain't giving you access to a damn thing. [00:42:52] We ain't giving you access to shit. [00:42:54] Might be the one to come asking him his opinion about something. [00:42:56] Here, take a look at this. [00:42:57] What do you think? [00:42:58] I'm saying to you it happens. [00:42:59] That's all I'm saying. [00:43:01] I don't know if it happened here. [00:43:02] I don't know what truth it is. [00:43:03] I'm just saying that it's plausible. [00:43:04] It's possible. [00:43:06] It didn't, unless Tulsi Gavard is a complete liar, which she's not. [00:43:10] I don't know her, so I won't. [00:43:11] She would not have misled the president about something this serious. [00:43:14] I mean, absolutely not. [00:43:15] So, look, I see your point, but the other problem with Liana Panetta is. [00:43:21] In the same way a surgeon wants to cut and a hammer wants to hit, somebody in his role, of course, is going to say, I'm in favor of this. [00:43:30] Are they just, that's exactly what somebody who's held the roles that Leon Panetta has held would say. [00:43:35] Like, yes, okay, great, we're going to do that. [00:43:37] Ask a military general. [00:43:39] Most of them say, like, yeah, we did the right thing. [00:43:42] There's a different segment of the populace that spends its time working with veterans, interviewing veterans, like having covered those two wars night and day, nonstop. [00:43:53] That hears from a different class of military expert. [00:43:56] And those are the guys who wanted Trump elected. [00:43:59] Those are the guys who thought they had somebody who understood them in Pete's role, Pete Hegseth's role, who are very angry. [00:44:05] So many of them are very angry about this and feel a betrayal on a very deep level because they were promised no more Middle East wars. [00:44:11] Not just no more war, no more wars in the Middle East. [00:44:15] It'd be a distraction, it'd be incredibly expensive. [00:44:18] Trump said all of that. [00:44:19] And yes, he was saying Iran can't have a nuclear weapon, which is why people gave him a lot of birth when he bombed them in June and then told us the facilities were obliterated and we supported him. [00:44:29] And then he launched a war anyway. [00:44:31] Right. [00:44:32] So, in other words, when he bombed their nuclear sites last June, right, and he said we obliterated them and it was over, your position is that it was supposed to be done. [00:44:43] No further action was supposed to be necessary. [00:44:46] You've lied to us. [00:44:47] Is that what you're saying about President Trump? [00:44:50] At that point, I didn't sense a lie. [00:44:51] I'm not talking about that point. [00:44:52] I'm talking about now. [00:44:53] I'm talking about now. [00:44:54] That's what you're feeling like you were lied to. [00:44:56] I mean, I don't know if he lied or if he just went back on a campaign promise, but it was an extremely important campaign promise, extremely. [00:45:04] And so, like, this is not one of those, like, oh, you know, I'll build the wall, but he doesn't build the full wall. [00:45:10] He builds, like, portions of the wall and other portions of it are electronic. [00:45:14] And you're like, I don't love that, but I can live with it. [00:45:16] You know, the border is closed. [00:45:18] This one's really fundamental to why many of us voted for him. [00:45:23] It was extremely important that he not do this. [00:45:25] And I mean, look, I'm not going to have to go fight in a war, but I do have three kids, including two boys. [00:45:31] And the draft has now just been made easier than ever because they're doing automatic registrations for it now, starting in December. [00:45:38] Anyway, my point is simply it's personal, and the vets I've talked to are very against it guys who have actually lost limbs, you know, really lost blood and treasure. [00:45:47] And he barely even tried to explain it to us, Stephen. [00:45:50] Barely even did us the respect of telling us why we were doing it. [00:45:54] I know a few vets myself, and they vibe with your thinking in terms of where we are now. [00:46:00] But they also felt that based on the rhetoric they were talking about, how being a month away from Iran having a nuclear weapon, that it was necessary because of Iran's history. [00:46:10] So they were thinking, is something needed to be done because Iran needs to be dealt with because they're sponsoring terrorism and all of this other stuff. [00:46:19] I'm trying to build a nuclear weapon. [00:46:22] My attitude is okay, if you're on Trump's side and Trump is saying essentially we had to stop this from happening, it was necessary. [00:46:31] Essentially, y'all are saying you don't believe him. [00:46:33] The left is saying we've never believed any damn thing about him. [00:46:36] So you're falling in line with what the left has been saying about his character or character flaws for quite a long time. [00:46:45] I mean, all presidents lie. [00:46:47] I agree. [00:46:47] Yeah, I mean, look, he lies. [00:46:49] Joe Biden lied at every turn. [00:46:51] Barack Obama lied in a way that cost people, millions of people, their health care and their lives in some cases. [00:46:56] They all lie. [00:46:57] Trump's not like this reporter here has never suggested otherwise. [00:47:00] I've said many times prior to the Iran war. [00:47:03] That Trump does not have an adult relationship with the truth. [00:47:07] Many, many times. [00:47:08] You can Google it. [00:47:09] And that's how I feel. [00:47:10] I don't have to Google it. [00:47:11] I watch it. [00:47:11] I'm fast and loose with it. [00:47:12] We saw it the other day when he tried to claim that that was him as a doctor in that meme and not Jesus. [00:47:17] It was such a fucking lie. [00:47:19] So obvious. [00:47:19] He wouldn't stand by the meme. [00:47:21] Okay, take it down and just say you're sorry, or don't say you're sorry, take it down, but don't try to gaslight us. [00:47:25] Thank you. [00:47:26] We can see. [00:47:27] So it's just look, there are some of us who will call Trump out on his bullshit. [00:47:30] It doesn't make me not a Trump supporter. [00:47:32] I still support him. [00:47:33] I want him to succeed. [00:47:34] I want him to get back to the beautiful agenda that I voted for. [00:47:37] Then that still needs fulfilling and not to be distracted by Iran, which no one cares about the Strait of Hormuz over here. [00:47:44] But in the same breath, and I'm not saying this towards you because I've seen you call him out, but far too many people who have supported him. [00:47:51] It's like, you know, even when they're going down, having to admit that he's lied about something or he's disappointed them, I'm like, wait a minute, he's doing far more than that because he's not prioritizing. [00:48:03] Like, for example, when you had the Poshu shutdown, you go a month. [00:48:08] Without doling out $2 billion, you understand, in salaries and stuff like that, TSA work and stuff like that. [00:48:17] Well, you know what, Megan? [00:48:18] When you come up with $800 million or $2 billion a day for a war that even folks on the right think should be happening, that's problematic. [00:48:26] So it's one thing, it's one thing, all right, you negotiated with the Democrats. [00:48:30] Damn it, you're trying to get what you want. [00:48:32] They're trying to get what you want. [00:48:33] You're not folding, you're not bending, you're not budging, and the American public has to suffer because of it. [00:48:39] But that has happened in the past. [00:48:40] It's unfortunate it shouldn't happen. [00:48:41] We should never want it to, but it has happened. [00:48:44] But when you turn around in the same breath, literally while that is happening, and you're doling out $800 million or $2 billion a day for a war that is highly suspect and questionable, even in the eyes of his supporters, that is where things become fragmented. [00:48:58] That's when things start falling apart at the seams because even those supporters are like, no, I can't vibe with this anymore. [00:49:06] That's where the Republican Party is right now. [00:49:09] And that's why I think somebody like Marco Rubio got a far better shot. [00:49:13] Than somebody like JD Vance, who I consider to be a Trump wannabe and ain't gonna cut it. [00:49:18] That's why I say what I say. [00:49:20] I think Rubio's problem will be. [00:49:24] A, JD Vance, if he wants it, and B, the people who are skeptical of Israel now in the Republican Party who think he's too pro. [00:49:33] You know, he's taken too many donations from AIPAC. [00:49:37] He's too beholden to what's best for Israel as opposed to what's. === AIPAC Donations and Neocon Factions (02:52) === [00:49:41] So he'll be up against that in a way that JD Vance is not. [00:49:43] Then there'll be the more neocon faction of the Republican Party that doesn't like JD. [00:49:47] And really, Trump will have to make a decision about whether he's going to endorse anyone. [00:49:53] You know, like, does he be the kingmaker or does he let. [00:49:56] I'm just hoping either one of them has somebody formidable on the left to go up against them. [00:50:00] That's what I'm hopeful for because I don't see it right now. [00:50:03] Yes, I. [00:50:05] Well, we have all that fun to look forward to starting November 5th or whatever the day is after the primaries, after the midterms. [00:50:12] Stephen A., a pleasure as always. [00:50:14] Same here. [00:50:14] Thanks for coming on. [00:50:15] Of course, no problem. [00:50:16] All right, we're back now with the full Markle story right after this break. [00:52:42] They're over in Australia. [00:52:44] Megan's doing what she does best, making everything about herself. [00:52:48] Everything. [00:52:49] Everything relates to her. [00:52:51] But back to me. [00:52:52] Enough about me. [00:52:52] What do you think of me? [00:52:54] While speaking to youth at a mental health organization, she complained about her struggles. [00:53:01] For now 10 years, every day for 10 years, I had been bullied and attacked. [00:53:06] And I was the most trolled person in the entire world. [00:53:09] Man, woman. [00:53:10] And I'm still here. [00:53:12] I can't. [00:53:14] Honestly, I just can't. [00:53:15] Get over yourself. [00:53:16] There's more. [00:53:18] Here's the kind of wisdom Markle offered on mental health. [00:53:21] In the form of a quote, she claims to look at every single day. [00:53:26] And a friend of mine gave me a little bag that had a quote on it that I put on. [00:53:32] And I look at it every single day. [00:53:34] And I would share it with you because sometimes I can imagine as you talk about depression or anxiety or a willingness or lack of appetite to even want to get out of bed or keep going, that this is the quote that it says. [00:53:48] And I think it's important that you remember it, as I try to as well. [00:53:53] for you is that you continue continue to be who and how you are to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness and to allow humor to lighten the burden of your tender heart And that's my wish for all of you as well. [00:54:12] And you can do it. [00:54:13] You can do it together. [00:54:14] I'm not going to say it's easy. [00:54:15] I will personally tell you it is not easy, but you can do it. [00:54:20] Okay. [00:54:21] Her tender heart. [00:54:23] Honestly, she is the meanest person to cross the threshold at Buckingham Palace in a couple hundred years. [00:54:29] And that's saying something. [00:54:31] There's no tender heart. [00:54:33] Her father was near death, and she ignored him and kept him away from her wedding, and he still hasn't met his grandchildren. [00:54:43] So, I don't want to be lectured to about her tender heart. [00:54:47] It's not in there. [00:54:48] It's a heart of stone. [00:54:49] She separated her husband from his entire family, from his cancer stricken grandmother, the queen, from his cancer stricken father, now the king. [00:55:01] She has managed to remove him from all that made him sound and supported for the entirety of his life to a new country that has absolutely no use for him. [00:55:13] None, none whatsoever. [00:55:14] We don't care about royalty over here. [00:55:16] They're mildly interesting. [00:55:17] We look at their funny outfits. [00:55:19] You know, like we care about them because we care about history. [00:55:21] We don't care about them like we're going to get down on a knee and fawn over them the way the British people, some fraction of them would. [00:55:28] So he's unplugged the one thing that made him electric. [00:55:32] And he's stuck on some Montecito ranch trying to figure out how to market another polo documentary that no one wants to see. [00:55:41] He is rich and out of touch and beyond privileged, just like his rich bitch wife. [00:55:49] Who wants only for us to feel sorry for her and for them. [00:55:53] I mean, like the nonsense about what she's pulling over there is ridiculous. [00:55:57] And at one point, she said to them, okay, that industry, that billion dollar industry, she's talking about the press, that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks. [00:56:06] That's not going to change. [00:56:07] So you have to be stronger than that. [00:56:09] Okay. [00:56:10] First of all, the answer when you see somebody who is suffering with depression or anxiety is not to just say, be stronger. [00:56:17] And as you guys know, I'm tough. [00:56:19] I'm pretty tough when it comes to these things. [00:56:20] I wouldn't look at a suffering person and just say, be stronger. [00:56:24] That's not how it works. [00:56:27] Nor again is their problem the main, mean press. [00:56:31] She's working out her own shit on a bunch of stressed out young people. [00:56:36] This is a youth organization for mental health. [00:56:39] And she's got to work out her issues with the Daily Mail on them. [00:56:44] She's been suing them left and right in the courts. [00:56:47] Every time she gets in front of a camera, she raises this because she wants us to know she was allegedly the most trolled person in the world in 2019. [00:56:53] Well, you know what, bitch? [00:56:54] I might have been the most trolled person in 2018. [00:56:57] I'm fine. [00:56:59] Like, stop. [00:57:00] There are a lot of us who go through the disgusting media washing machine that whips you around and pulls you and twists you and makes you feel disoriented because they say so many negative things about you. [00:57:13] Most of us take it like a man or a woman and kind of move on with our lives. [00:57:17] Instead of reminding everybody at every turn, most trolled person, male or female. [00:57:23] It's like, think of the bad route Michael Jackson, everybody thinks he's a pedophile. [00:57:28] He's not around to defend himself anymore. [00:57:30] But, like, I'm going to guess that was worse trolling than you didn't get along with Kate. [00:57:37] Like, who does she think she's kidding? [00:57:39] It's like, and the complete denial of the fact that she made that bed. [00:57:46] She made that bed. [00:57:47] I went back and just reminded myself of some of the bullying allegations against her. [00:57:52] The reporting from Valentine Lowe, who was like the biographer of hers, is really telling. [00:57:58] She threatened to sue him. [00:57:59] Her people threatened to sue him. [00:58:00] They never filed suit. [00:58:01] Guess why? [00:58:02] Guess why? [00:58:03] Don't you think she's very litigious? [00:58:06] Don't you think she would have filed suit if Valentine Lowe had been this liar who was just smearing her with absolutely no basis? [00:58:13] What about our friend Dan Wooten? [00:58:15] Where's the lawsuit against him? [00:58:16] He's blown the lid off of multiple Meghan Markle scandals and what a bully she is and how nasty she was to Princess Kate, how she made Kate cry. [00:58:26] She denied it. [00:58:28] Here's a couple. [00:58:30] Her personal assistant, Megan's, left when she first got, like, joined the royal family six months after the royal wedding, quit. [00:58:39] A week later, the assistant was named in another paper as Melissa Tuabti. [00:58:45] Megan put a lot of demands on her, and it ended up with this gal, Melissa, in tears, a source told him. [00:58:51] She was not the first member of staff to leave, but before her, there was another PA, personal assistant, a young woman already employed by the palace. [00:58:59] She did not stay long after Megan arrived. [00:59:01] The Duchess could be sharp with those she felt were letting her down. [00:59:04] One former staff member said, I had unpleasant experiences with her. [00:59:07] I would definitely say humiliated. [00:59:10] Another source claimed that Samantha Cohen, who was beloved within the palace, had done many roles, including for the queen. [00:59:15] She could solve anything, she could plan anything. [00:59:17] So they gave her their most competent employee, and she became the couple's private secretary. [00:59:24] She got bullied by Meghan Markle. [00:59:26] They treated her terribly, he reports. [00:59:28] This is a quote Nothing was ever good enough. [00:59:30] It was, she doesn't understand. [00:59:32] She's failing. [00:59:33] In fact, the source said Cohen was a saint and the best organizer of royal tours that they had known. [00:59:39] There's more from Valentine Lowe's book. [00:59:42] A senior aide discreetly raised with the couple the difficulties caused by Meghan's treatment of staff. [00:59:48] This was in late 2017 after the engagement. [00:59:51] She didn't even wait until the wedding was secure to start bullying everybody around her. [00:59:55] She was said to have replied, It's not my job to coddle people. [00:59:58] Okay, I'm not a coddler either, but I work in media. [01:00:02] You're trying to join the royal family. [01:00:04] You're going to have to be on eggshells. [01:00:07] Everyone knows that. [01:00:08] You can't run around and say, It's not my job to cuddle people. [01:00:11] I'm an American. [01:00:12] I'm going to do it my way. [01:00:13] That makes people dislike you, sister. [01:00:16] And you can't then run to the media and say, Oh, most trolled person. [01:00:20] You brought it upon yourself. [01:00:21] And person after person within the royal family and the household tried to warn you this would happen because the people you're bullying have these things called mouths and sources of their own who are dying to hear from them for any royal tidbit. [01:00:37] And you assumed the risk that they wouldn't say anything about you. [01:00:41] But guess what? [01:00:41] They did. [01:00:42] And now we all know. [01:00:44] Meghan spoke particularly harshly at a meeting to a young female member of the team in front of her colleagues. [01:00:49] After Meghan had pulled to shreds a plan this person had drawn up, the woman told Meghan that it was going to be hard to implement a new plan. [01:00:57] Don't worry, Meghan told her. [01:00:58] If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I'd be asking them instead of you. [01:01:03] Later, Prince William, who had heard she was a bitch, that's my term, came to find the woman she had bullied. [01:01:09] I hope you're okay, he told her. [01:01:10] You're doing a really good job. [01:01:11] She promptly burst into tears. [01:01:13] This woman trying to keep it together, but any sign of empathy, which Prince William was the only one to show her, brought her to tears. [01:01:20] Haven't you been there? [01:01:22] It's one thing for you to feel sorry for you when somebody else feels sorry for you. [01:01:25] That's the thing that pushes you over the edge on the tears. [01:01:28] Once, when Megan felt she had been let down, yet again, everyone disappoints Megan over an issue that was worrying her. [01:01:34] She rang repeatedly when the staffer was out for dinner on a Friday night. [01:01:37] Every 10 minutes, I had to go outside to be screamed at by her and Harry, says this employee. [01:01:43] It was, I can't believe you've done this. [01:01:45] You've let me down. [01:01:46] What were you thinking? [01:01:47] It went on for hours. [01:01:50] Then, this guy, Jason Knoff, who was originally made like the press representative for all four of them, the Fab Four, back when they were getting along and the press was saying nothing but great things about her, he wrote an email in October of, I can't figure out the year here, to his immediate boss, Simon Case, who worked for Prince William, saying he had spoken to the head of HR for the palace about, quote, some very serious problems concerning Meghan's behavior. [01:02:17] Writing, quote, I'm very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. [01:02:23] The Duchess seems intent on, Always having someone in her sights. [01:02:27] She is bullying, name withheld, and seeking to undermine her confidence. [01:02:32] We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior toward X, despite the universal views from her colleagues that she is a leading talent within the household who's delivering first rate work. [01:02:44] As one source said, there were a lot of broken people, young women, who were broken by their behavior. [01:02:50] She brought Harry down with her. [01:02:52] He sees himself as the protector now. [01:02:53] He's going to like avenge his mother's death. [01:02:55] By being tough on anybody who's mean to Megan. [01:02:57] So he's turned into an absolute nightmare, too. [01:03:00] One member of the staff said, they said, was, quote, completely destroyed by this pair. [01:03:06] She regularly belittled people, reported the Daily Mail. [01:03:10] They again hear in an article citing Chief of Staff Josh Kettler. [01:03:14] He had left his role after only three months. [01:03:18] And the Daily Mail, citing a source who was actually in the Hollywood Reporter. [01:03:24] So it's a report on a report, quote, everyone is terrified of Megan. [01:03:27] She belittles people. [01:03:28] She doesn't take advice. [01:03:30] They're both poor decision makers. [01:03:31] They change their minds frequently. [01:03:33] Harry is a very, very charming person, no heirs, but he's very much an enabler. [01:03:37] And she is just terrible. [01:03:39] Another source, she's absolutely relentless. [01:03:41] She marshes around like a dictator in high heels, fuming and barking orders. [01:03:45] I've watched her reduce grown men to tears. [01:03:49] Two sources say a colleague with ties to archetypes, you know, that her ridiculous Spotify podcast, all about women and empowering women, took a leave of absence after working on three episodes. [01:04:01] And then left Gimlet, the producer of the podcast series, altogether. [01:04:05] Several others described taking extended breaks from work to escape scrutiny, exiting their job altogether, or undergoing long term therapy after working with her. [01:04:15] Quote I think if Megan acknowledged her own shortcomings or personal contributions to situations rather than staying trapped in a victim narrative, her perception might be better. [01:04:26] Correct. [01:04:27] She is trapped in a victim narrative. [01:04:30] This is the soundbite I referenced earlier in the show, where she went on one of these world tours with Harry shortly after they were married. [01:04:39] And the ITV guy was like, How's it going? [01:04:43] And this is how she handled it. [01:04:45] Yeah, well, I guess, and also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm okay. [01:04:50] Because we don't actually give a shit. [01:04:52] You have more privilege than anyone else on earth, like literally, except for about five people. [01:04:58] We assume that things are great. [01:05:00] And if they're not great, it's between you and your therapist. [01:05:03] It's not for you to complain to the press about nonstop. [01:05:07] Honestly, like, and Harry is just as bad with that stuff I was quoting to you earlier. [01:05:13] His mental health messaging, you should not be taking mental health advice from Prince Harry or from her. [01:05:19] She was suicidal just a couple years ago. [01:05:21] He is describing himself, as I pointed out to you moments ago, as in the fetal position. [01:05:27] He said, like, recently, in the fetal position, and saying now there's a lot, a lot in the world. [01:05:34] Leaving us feeling anxious, stressed, helpless, powerless, and completely overwhelmed. [01:05:39] Then he goes on, loss is disorienting at any age. [01:05:43] Grief does not disappear because we ignore it. [01:05:45] Well, actually, ignoring it may not be such a bad idea, to be honest, Harry. [01:05:49] Rumination is what really causes ongoing depression, going over your problems nonstop over and over and over again. [01:05:56] But anyway, experiencing that as a kid while in a goldfish bowl under constant surveillance, yes, that will have its challenges and without purpose. [01:06:04] It can break you. [01:06:06] There have been many times when I have felt overwhelmed, where I felt lost, betrayed, or completely powerless, times when the pressure externally and internally felt constant. [01:06:18] You grew up in a palace, multiple palaces Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace. [01:06:23] I'm missing some of the palaces. [01:06:26] Your every need was taken care of times 20. [01:06:29] I was just talking with somebody about this. [01:06:32] Catherine Schwarzenegger, who's married to Chris Pratt. [01:06:35] You remember Jack Carr was here yesterday. [01:06:38] He's great. [01:06:39] And Chris Pratt is starring in his series. [01:06:41] Then I was like doing a deep dive on Chris Pratt online. [01:06:44] He's married to Catherine Schwarzenegger. [01:06:46] She started a podcast. [01:06:47] She had her dad on the podcast, Arnold. [01:06:49] And she said something like, Well, you were so good, you made sure that we grew up normal. [01:06:53] And Arnold Schwarzenegger was like, Hold on, you did not grow up normal. [01:06:58] And she's like, Oh, well, no, I just mean, he was like, No, no, you did not grow up normal. [01:07:04] Now, that's a good father. [01:07:06] Not only was their dad Arnold Schwarzenegger, their mother's Maria Shriver. [01:07:09] She's a Kennedy. [01:07:10] You can do your best to raise normal kids while making sure they know that they are not normal. [01:07:15] They have had an enormous privilege handed to them at every turn. [01:07:18] They have vacation places that nobody ever vacations, they travel in ways and via means, and nobody gets to. [01:07:24] Their homes are multi, multi millionaire, million dollar. [01:07:27] They have connections to industries of enormous power. [01:07:31] They have restaurant reservations nobody has. [01:07:34] People smile at them greater and are nicer to them and tend to their every whim in a way that doesn't happen for quote unquote normal people. [01:07:40] It's like good for him. [01:07:42] Good for Arnold Schwarzenegger. [01:07:45] Someone needed to have that conversation with Prince Harry. [01:07:48] Desperately needed to have that conversation. [01:07:49] Like, I'm overwhelmed, I'm betrayed in the grief, and it doesn't go. [01:07:53] Like, would you just stop? [01:07:56] You have had everything handed to you. [01:07:59] Even when you left the royal family, your stupid Spotify deal and your Netflix deal, worth reportedly $150 million together, was handed to you. [01:08:10] And the way you, quote, earned it was to just dish on your loving family in a Netflix series through the most negative lens and your country, which you called racist, along with your race-obsessed wife. [01:08:25] So. === Boebert Rage and Gender Facts (15:42) === [01:08:27] By the way, he was also part of that Oprah interview where they suggested the royal family was full of a bunch of racists, some raging racists, while his own grandfather was dying in the hospital. [01:08:37] Remember, they had to run to the press within 24 hours after because people were like, Was it the Queen? [01:08:41] Was it Prince Philip who said this thing about, Oh my God, we're concerned about how dark your baby is? [01:08:46] Who said it? [01:08:47] And how she and Oprah played that up and he allowed it. [01:08:51] And then finally, they had to put out a statement saying, Okay, it wasn't the Queen or Prince Philip. [01:08:54] Oh, great. [01:08:55] Okay. [01:08:55] Thanks. [01:08:56] So we can remove that stressor from your dying granddad. [01:08:59] And her with the treatment of her dad. [01:09:00] I'm just sick of it. [01:09:01] I'm sick of it. [01:09:02] No one feels fucking sorry for you. [01:09:03] No one. [01:09:05] Stop. [01:09:06] A lot of us have had massive loss in our lives and have learned to move on. [01:09:10] A lot of us have been the subject of absolutely vicious press coverage and have learned to move on. [01:09:16] We don't obsess and speak to a bunch of suffering children and try to make it about ourselves. [01:09:23] Their two minutes are up. [01:09:26] They're up. [01:09:26] And again, no mental health clinic should be having these. [01:09:30] Two lunatics, narcissistic lunatics, there to speak to anybody about how to deal with mental health. [01:09:38] Okay. [01:09:40] That's what I wanted to say about Meghan Markle. [01:09:42] I'm really glad I got that off my chest. [01:09:45] Got that off my chest. [01:09:47] I want to bring in our panel now. [01:09:49] It's Brit and Witt time, Brit Mayer. [01:09:50] She's founder of Rooted Wings and host of The Brit Mayer Show. [01:09:54] And Will Witt. [01:09:55] It's really Brit and Will, but we like Brit and Witt. [01:09:58] It rhymes. [01:09:59] And Will Witt, who's author of Do Not Comply. [01:10:02] Team, welcome back. [01:10:04] Thoughts, Brit, on the Duchess of Duplicity lecturing these kids on how bad she has had it? [01:10:11] I'll tell you what, Megan. [01:10:13] Like, if I was not awake, I don't even need my coffee after all of that. [01:10:17] I am wide awake now. [01:10:21] Oh, it's infuriating. [01:10:23] I mean, it is. [01:10:24] We know she's just so duplicitous and fake. [01:10:26] And I think that's why we're seeing her tank, you know, her public opinion. [01:10:30] No one that I know is still even really talking about her. [01:10:32] If she ever had her moments of fame, they're long gone. [01:10:35] But it is, it's pathetic to see her at a table trying to convince you that she feels a certain way and she can identify. [01:10:43] It just comes off so fake. [01:10:46] Yeah, I'm with you and I'm wide awake. [01:10:49] So thank you for the intro. [01:10:50] I don't need my coffee now. [01:10:53] And, Will, what's with him? [01:10:54] Like, most men try to be men. [01:10:57] And, like, it doesn't mean you can never show any softness whatsoever, but every time he speaks, it's either a complaint about how his security got taken away and he doesn't want to have to go to the UK anymore because, meanwhile, he's got $150 million plus. [01:11:09] He can pay for his own security, but it's not good enough for him. [01:11:12] Or he's bitching about his mental health, fetal position, overwhelmed, like nonstop without realizing how that sounds coming from him. [01:11:20] Well, victimhood complex in America and I guess in the UK is a cancer and it's very intoxicating to people. [01:11:25] And so you have these rich celebrities, and they come on and say, Oh, my life is so hard, and all this. [01:11:29] And it kind of gives normal people the idea that, okay, if these people are victims, and I must really be a victim, my life must really be awful. [01:11:36] You know, I go on campus and I do these interviews and debates, and I have students come up to me for three hours talking to me. [01:11:42] And the biggest thing that I'm talking to these students about is about how my life is so horrible because I'm black, because I'm a woman, because I'm gay, I'm a victim, and any sort of these different things. [01:11:51] And it's like there's this trend in psychology that you were talking about with therapists and all that. [01:11:55] That tells people, break down your trauma, break down the things that happened to you so that you can think about them and really ruminate on it. [01:12:02] But in reality, if you want to fix yourself and the things that have gone wrong in your life, start making better decisions. [01:12:07] Go and be the person that you want to be. [01:12:09] Go in and be brave and courageous. [01:12:11] But they're not giving that message to young men. [01:12:13] They're not giving that message to young women. [01:12:15] It's all about the victimhood complex and how I can get something out of making people feel bad for me. [01:12:20] But I think a lot of people are starting to wake up to the fact this doesn't work. [01:12:23] I mean, I look at all the, him coming and saying these things and I say, what an absolute loser. [01:12:28] This is not someone who I want to emulate in my life. [01:12:32] At all. [01:12:32] I mean, if those two had shown up and said, you know what really works, exercise. [01:12:38] You know, go outside, go for a walk, get a dog, interaction with pets, very good for you. [01:12:43] Reconnect with family. [01:12:45] They can't say that. [01:12:46] They've shunned both of their families. [01:12:48] He's not on speaking terms with his only brother. [01:12:52] He barely speaks to the king. [01:12:54] She won't talk to her very ill father or even introduce him to his grandkids. [01:13:00] They've completely ostracized themselves, which, by the way, Is one of the signs of an unhealthy person. [01:13:04] You look around and, like, there's zero family connections left. [01:13:08] It's you. [01:13:09] And yet she wants to talk all about family, how it's important to her. [01:13:12] Yet when these kids need help, Britt, it's you have to be like me, follow my sayings and learn from my experience dealing with negative press, which I guarantee you does not apply to one child who is listening to her. [01:13:25] That's such a good point. [01:13:26] And it makes me think that what we've already seen with both of them is that they're opportunists, but they don't really care to help anyone. [01:13:33] They only want to help themselves. [01:13:35] So it's one big show and you're invited to it, but they're not really there at that table to give any real advice that's going to help these people. [01:13:42] They're opportunists, narcissistic opportunists. [01:13:45] All right, now I'm gonna switch to Dave Chappelle because I think he's got some similarities to what we're talking about right here. [01:13:54] I don't understand this interview at all. [01:13:56] I don't totally understand his answers, but what I understand, I object to. [01:14:01] And I'm gonna show you what he said to this reporter at NPR to whom he gave an interview on like the rage machine. [01:14:11] You guys, my team will tell me which they'll run the right one, but he thinks the media has rage baited. [01:14:17] What he has said in his comedy routines to a place where, like, the public has been misled. [01:14:23] That's how I listen to this. [01:14:24] That's how I hear this bit. [01:14:26] He said, Listen here. [01:14:28] What about people who feel like you're punching down? [01:14:30] Like, you're not a trans person. [01:14:34] And there are people who feel like it's different when you are part of the group that has been attacked, hurt, demeaned, et cetera. [01:14:44] And then if you're outside of that group and you're having commentary about it, it causes feelings. [01:14:49] And what do you say to people who feel that? [01:14:51] In some occasions, you're punching down? [01:14:53] That's a tough one for me because so much of that was a media phenomenon. [01:14:57] What was happening in actual life versus how the media was reporting on my show. [01:15:04] And I feel like the way they were put on that show was rage baiting to some degree. [01:15:10] And there's so many different branches to talk about it. [01:15:13] But I would say that, you know, not everything is for everybody. [01:15:17] I don't tell country artists what to sing about if I'm not going to go see a. [01:15:21] A country show. [01:15:23] You know, if they bought tickets ever, maybe I'd listen. [01:15:27] I don't know. [01:15:28] They're just never there. [01:15:29] I don't even know who's telling them I say these things. [01:15:32] So, I mean, Britt, I know you've been following this because he was a very bold person when it came to speaking about the trans thing. [01:15:41] You know, he's been unsparing in a way that you applauded, I applauded. [01:15:46] Like, good for him. [01:15:47] He was one of the few to say what's real, you know, which is like, trannies are not real. [01:15:52] Fake men, or whatever. [01:15:54] They are actual men, not real women. [01:15:57] And now he wants to dismiss it as a media phenomenon. [01:16:01] There's actual life, like what he actually said, versus how the media reported on it. [01:16:07] Here's what he said. [01:16:09] Here's just one of the jokes he made when he spoke about the trans issue. [01:16:14] Guys, can you play the one that I requested on how gender is really a thing? [01:16:20] Watch. [01:16:22] And they've canceled people that are more powerful than me. [01:16:26] They canceled J.K. Rowling. [01:16:28] My God, J.K. Rowling wrote all the Harry Potter books by herself. [01:16:33] She sold so many books of Bible worries about her. [01:16:39] And they canceled her because she said in an interview, and this is not exactly what she said, but effectually, she said gender was a fact. [01:16:48] And then the trans community got mad as shit. [01:16:50] They started calling her a turf. [01:16:52] I didn't even know what the fuck that was. [01:16:55] But I know that trans people make up words to win arguments. [01:17:02] I agree. [01:17:04] I agree, man. [01:17:06] Gender is a fact. [01:17:08] You have to look at it from a woman's perspective. [01:17:10] Person, Caitlyn Jenner, was voted woman of the year. [01:17:17] Her first year as a woman. [01:17:20] Ain't that something? [01:17:21] Be every bitch in Detroit, she's better than all of you. [01:17:25] Gender is a fact. [01:17:26] This is a fact. [01:17:27] Every human being in this room, every human being on earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on earth. [01:17:34] That is a fact. [01:17:39] So then he got ripped by the left wing for those comments. [01:17:42] And now he wants to come back and say there's actual life versus how the media reported on it. [01:17:48] The media rage baited. [01:17:50] I don't know what this is, but to me, it seems like revisionist history. [01:17:53] The left got angry over what he said, the right defended him, and he spoke the truth, which he should not be running away from or trying to disavow if that's what he's trying to do at all. [01:18:04] I'm a little confused. [01:18:06] Was he trying to say in this interview that the left media is responsible for taking his content and making it rage bait? [01:18:14] Or is he saying that? [01:18:15] He just said the media. [01:18:16] So, I mean, we all just saw what he said, which I'm cracking up. [01:18:21] It's because that's what comedy is supposed to do. [01:18:24] Comedy is supposed to punch up, and it's supposed to be something that we can relate to and we can laugh about so we can have serious conversations. [01:18:30] But it totally sounds like he's backtracking now, which is a huge disappointment because everything he said in those clips was so completely accurate. [01:18:38] And you don't need any media to clip it. [01:18:40] He said what he said. [01:18:41] So I don't know what he's doing, if he's trying to shift his tune now, but that would be a total shame because, wow, what he said in the past was so well said. [01:18:52] Yeah, it was brave and it was correct. [01:18:55] And here's the thing, Will. [01:18:56] So you heard him in that clip that I just played saying, gender is a fact. [01:19:02] Gender is a fact. [01:19:03] He called himself Team Turf in the longer clip and made clear every single one of us here has come out of a woman, like understanding the difference. [01:19:12] Between a woman and a man. [01:19:15] And then elsewhere in this interview, he gets angry at Republicans for, quote, weaponizing his jokes. [01:19:24] Watch this. [01:19:24] Stop 24. [01:19:25] I did resent that the Republican Party ran on transgender jokes. [01:19:30] You know, I felt like they were doing a weaponized version of what I was doing. [01:19:36] I didn't, it's not what I was doing with it. [01:19:40] I'll give you an example. [01:19:41] It was before I learned the phrase, I respectfully declined, and I was on Capitol Hill. [01:19:46] And everybody ran up to take pictures with me from every congressional office. [01:19:50] And I just take pictures with whoever asked. [01:19:53] I didn't ask how they voted, what their voting record is. [01:19:57] And everyone, at first, was like CBC people. [01:20:00] And then here comes Lauren Boebert. [01:20:03] And she said, Can I get a picture? [01:20:05] And I'd already taken 40 pictures. [01:20:06] I didn't want to say no in front of everybody, but I didn't know the phrase. [01:20:09] I respectfully declined. [01:20:10] So I just took the picture. [01:20:12] And then she posts the picture before I could even get from there to the show and says something to the effect of just two people that knew that it's just two gender. [01:20:21] She instantly like weaponized it or politicized it. [01:20:25] What? [01:20:26] How? [01:20:27] What the heck? [01:20:27] Look, what is he even saying? [01:20:29] He's on camera saying gender is a fact. [01:20:32] We all came out of a woman. [01:20:34] Team turf. [01:20:35] Now he's upset because Lauren Boebert posted a picture saying two people who understand there are two genders. [01:20:41] Like he wants to make that a Lauren Boebert problem. [01:20:44] She weaponized what he said. [01:20:45] No, like take some responsibility, Megan Chappelle. [01:20:49] It's what you said. [01:20:50] And you know what? [01:20:51] It's controversial. [01:20:53] Will says it. [01:20:54] Britt says it. [01:20:55] I say it. [01:20:56] And we take our slings and arrows like grownups. [01:20:59] And we don't start bitching about somebody who repeats what we said or writes up what we said. [01:21:05] It's on you. [01:21:07] Dave, not Lauren Boebert, not the media, not Republicans. [01:21:11] What is he doing? [01:21:12] Well, it sounds a lot to me like someone got to him or they had some sort of threat against him. [01:21:17] We're going to cancel this money that you're going to get or something against him. [01:21:21] They have something on him. [01:21:22] I don't know exactly what it is, but the fact that he was the guy on Comedy Central, I mean, making his show, that was the most aggressive show you could go where he made fun of black people, white people, women, gay people. [01:21:32] I mean, really, he made fun of everyone. [01:21:33] And that was the beauty of it that no one was safe and that it shed light on all these different issues and gave people a really good look at American life in a lot of ways. [01:21:42] And so it feels to me like someone must have got to him on something because I can't imagine him being so weak and coming back in this way and saying, oh, I disavow these things and I disavow Republicans or anything like that. [01:21:52] Because he's not coming here and saying, oh, well, you know, the left also came after me in this way and they were super cruel to me and awful. [01:21:58] He's not saying that. [01:21:59] He's coming and saying the Republicans did it. [01:22:02] So it feels like somebody got to him. [01:22:05] And honestly, like, how low to be like, I should have said I respectfully decline. [01:22:11] You won't pose for a photo had you known it was Lauren Boebert or had you had it to do over again, you wouldn't have posed for a photo with Lauren Boebert. [01:22:19] I mean, that's hashtag part of the problem. [01:22:24] There's not a person in Congress with whom I wouldn't pose for a photo unless that guy Scott Weiner gets elected, Brett, in which case we're out. [01:22:32] We're all going to have a big, big problem. [01:22:34] But like, that's just like, whatever. [01:22:36] Generally, we put our politics to the side when people want photos with us, and you do it, and you're not like a complete ass. [01:22:43] And Lauren Boebert is not so beyond the pale that she should be, you know, you can't appear with her in public. [01:22:47] I'm sure many people don't want to appear with Eric Swalwell at the moment, but like, let's be real. [01:22:52] Like, she's not so far outside the mainstream. [01:22:54] You should be like saying, no, I respectfully decline. [01:22:56] So get off your high horse, Dave. [01:22:59] All right, as we're talking about comedians, Jimmy Kimmel went on the Michelle Obama podcast, which still has about four viewers. [01:23:07] And had thoughts on why him no longer being funny is just fine. [01:23:14] And he stands by it. [01:23:16] This is him in SAT 13, I think it is. [01:23:19] And you have so bravely and boldly used your platform to speak truth to power, as they would say. [01:23:27] Well, thank you. [01:23:28] I don't think of it as bravely, boldly, maybe. [01:23:31] It just seems obvious and unavoidable. [01:23:36] Don't see that. [01:23:38] I just can't imagine on those nights talking about anything other than what we are talking about. [01:23:46] I think it would be embarrassing if we didn't talk about this stuff. [01:23:51] It would be shameful to say that, well, your job is this. [01:23:55] It makes me, I bristle at that because, first of all, don't tell me what my job is. [01:24:01] You know, I don't tell you what your job is. [01:24:03] My job is whatever I decide my job is, whatever my employer allows me to do. === Narcissism in Real Time (14:44) === [01:24:09] That's what my job is. [01:24:10] Comedians have been. [01:24:11] Doing this for a long time. [01:24:13] It just shows a great deal of ignorance when it comes to comedy to say, well, Johnny Carson didn't do this. [01:24:19] Like, well, first of all, we're living in a different time. [01:24:22] And secondly, how do you know Johnny Carson wouldn't do it? [01:24:25] I bet Johnny Carson would talk about it. [01:24:28] I bet Johnny Carson would be absolutely mortified by what's going on. [01:24:33] I think you're wrong, Jimmy. [01:24:34] Here's SOP 14, 1979. [01:24:37] You get sensitive about the fact that people say he'll never take a serious controversy. [01:24:42] Well, I have an answer to that. [01:24:44] I said, now, tell me the last time that Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Benny, comedian, used his show to do serious issues. [01:24:54] That's not what I'm there for. [01:24:56] Can't they see that? [01:24:57] But you're not. [01:24:58] Why do they think that just because you have a Tonight Show that you must deal in serious issues? [01:25:04] That's a danger. [01:25:05] It's a real danger. [01:25:06] Once you start that, you start to get that self important feeling that what you say has great import. [01:25:13] And you know, strangely enough, you could use that show as a forum. [01:25:16] You could sway people. [01:25:16] And I don't think you should as an entertainer. [01:25:20] Look at that. [01:25:20] The difference between humility and hubris, Will, right? [01:25:24] One man is humble and understands his role and how valuable it is. [01:25:28] It doesn't make you lower not to be speaking out on these dicey issues, it actually makes you elevated in the eyes of the public because you do such a service for them. [01:25:37] You make them laugh. [01:25:39] Through these difficult times. [01:25:40] The more difficult, the more needed laughter is. [01:25:43] But Jimmy Kimmel needs to feel important, self important, and therefore doesn't care about that lofty goal anymore and smears Johnny Carson by suggesting, you know, Trump is so uniquely bad, even Johnny Carson would break that rule. [01:25:58] Listening to that Johnny Carson soundbite, do you think he would break his rule? [01:26:01] Is Jimmy Kimmel right? [01:26:02] No, Carson is right as rain in that. [01:26:04] I mean, that is exactly what these comedians should be doing. [01:26:07] They should be making people laugh because. [01:26:09] If you're going to say that the world is so terrible and we're living under fascism and Trump is so bad and all these kind of things, then you should be even stronger trying to make people have that relaxation, those good feelings after they finish work or whatever it is, that they can come home and just have some happiness in their lives. [01:26:23] They don't need it from you. [01:26:24] You're not an expert. [01:26:25] You're not someone who's dealing with these kind of things. [01:26:27] Your job, I'm telling you what your job is, Jimmy, is to make us laugh. [01:26:31] That is why you are here. [01:26:32] That is why you are hired. [01:26:33] That is the purpose of your show. [01:26:35] And you can leave these types of political topics for people who are better versed in it. [01:26:40] Who are actually going to give opinions and facts and things that are going to enrich people's lives when they want it. [01:26:46] But this is not the time when they actually want it. [01:26:48] They want to come on and be entertained after dealing with all the nonsense of the world every day. [01:26:52] So Carson was 100% correct. [01:26:54] Yes. [01:26:55] Of course, his show is failing. [01:26:57] That's what happens when you have Adam Schiff on as your guest instead of Tom Cruise. [01:27:02] So, yeah, that's why the tonight show is going to go away. [01:27:05] One more thought from this. [01:27:06] She is so feckless, Michelle Obama. [01:27:09] She's always so mean to Brother Craig. [01:27:11] Listen to how she begins the show here in SOT 12. [01:27:15] We are very excited about our next guest. [01:27:20] And I want to tell a little brief story before we bring him out because this whole time we were talking about how both of us have been on his show. [01:27:33] That's never happened, right? [01:27:35] No, because no one invites me anywhere. [01:27:37] Nobody invites me anywhere. [01:27:39] Nice. [01:27:40] She is so nasty to poor brother Craig. [01:27:42] The whole show is like a vehicle to support Michelle's ego and make her look important and like everybody wants a piece of her, which no one does anymore. [01:27:51] And brother Craig is just there as like fodder. [01:27:54] He's like the background piece that sometimes has to like lob in a supportive comment of her and a self deprecating one of him. [01:28:00] It's just such a pathetic vibe. [01:28:02] Anyway, I want to keep going. [01:28:03] Britt, this next one's for you. [01:28:05] The Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni trial starts on May 17th. [01:28:11] I mean, we are now about a month away, almost exactly, right? [01:28:14] Is today the 17th? [01:28:15] No, today's the 16th. [01:28:17] Yeah, so we're about a month away exactly from this trial. [01:28:20] And I think it will go to trial. [01:28:23] Like, they are so dug in on their positions, even though her case has largely been gutted. [01:28:27] Her sexual harassment case was thrown out. [01:28:30] Mostly what remains is her retaliation complaint against him, claiming that because she complained of sexual harassment on the set, he then orchestrated a media campaign against her. [01:28:41] And That's a much better case for Justin Baldoni because he's got tons of proof that those PR experts he brought in, as nasty as their text messages to one another were, were brought in defensively after Blake Lively had turned on him and started to publicly humiliate him. [01:29:02] She was the much bigger star. [01:29:04] She's married to a bigger star than both of them. [01:29:06] Her best friend was Taylor Swift. [01:29:08] And I think Baldoni's got a very good case that he accurately deduced he was about to be ruined by this woman and her so called dragons. [01:29:15] And Did not ruin her reputation, but she did that herself in the bad press around their movie. [01:29:21] And we've just learned that one of the witnesses, the defense, Justin Baldoni's team is going to call, is Kirstie Flaw. [01:29:31] Who is Kirstie Flaw? [01:29:32] She is, I believe, from the Netherlands. [01:29:35] And she is the one who, on a press junket that Blake Lively and Parker Posey, that they were on promoting a movie. [01:29:46] And the junket, the way the junket works is you get 10 minutes. [01:29:49] I've been on, I've been the reporter doing one of these where, like, you know, NBC gets 10 minutes, you get 10 minutes, CBS gets 10 minutes, Access Hollywood gets 10 minutes, whatever. [01:29:59] So she, as this foreign journalist, got 10 minutes with the two of them. [01:30:02] And she is the one who sat down and had that incredible moment where she commented. [01:30:08] Blake Lightly had gone public with the fact that she was pregnant. [01:30:11] She looked pregnant. [01:30:12] And she said something about how cute her baby bump was. [01:30:16] And Blake was such a bitch to her. [01:30:18] So, so. [01:30:20] Kirsty's been called as a witness by the defense, and she is prepared to testify for the defense on how nasty Blake Lively was to her and what happened after this interview. [01:30:29] As a reminder, here's the soundbite in SOP 31. [01:30:33] First of all, congrats on your little bump. [01:30:36] Congrats on your little bump. [01:30:38] What about my bump? [01:30:41] You've got two nice ones. [01:30:43] And these? [01:30:44] They are kind of bumps, aren't they? [01:30:46] No, not bumps. [01:30:48] The lovely lady lumps. [01:30:49] Check it out. [01:30:50] Thank you. [01:30:51] Thank you. [01:30:52] You like the movie? [01:30:53] Are you a Woody Allen fan? [01:30:54] I love most of his movies, and this one was so visually amazing. [01:30:58] Yeah, it's gorgeous. [01:30:59] Did you guys love wearing those kind of clothes that you. [01:31:03] Yeah. [01:31:03] Yeah. [01:31:04] And you know, working in digital. [01:31:05] Nobody wants to talk about the clothes, but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes. [01:31:09] I would. [01:31:09] I love Jesse's suit. [01:31:11] He's so beautiful. [01:31:12] That's what I'm saying. [01:31:14] His wardrobe was beautiful. [01:31:15] I know. [01:31:15] Corey's wardrobe was quite nice. [01:31:18] I know. [01:31:19] He's so great. [01:31:19] I would wish men saw Jesse's pants. [01:31:21] I know. [01:31:22] Or it's maybe their father with his tank top and this. [01:31:26] Oh, it's so good. [01:31:27] Yeah, it's not just the women that have the clothes. [01:31:30] I feel like the women get the conversation, but it's like. [01:31:35] She's such a bitch. [01:31:37] And Parker Posey looks terrible there too. [01:31:40] Shame on her. [01:31:41] And by the way, Kirstie has revealed that, of course, she wasn't pregnant like Blake was and can't get pregnant. [01:31:48] So you never know what you're dealing with, which is yet another reason why you don't make those snide, nasty comments, Blake, to somebody who's made one millionth of what you have in your wallet right now in her career as a journalist in the Netherlands. [01:32:04] Like, how dare you? [01:32:05] How dare you be so dismissive and nasty? [01:32:07] And again, shame on you, Parker Posey. [01:32:10] You've escaped the scorn of people because we're also focused on Blake, who's playing the victim. [01:32:15] But you look terrible in that SOT, too. [01:32:18] So here's Kirstie. [01:32:19] She went on our pal Billy Bush's podcast two days ago and she's talked all about it. [01:32:25] It was a fascinating exchange. [01:32:28] Here's Summit in SOT 32. [01:32:30] All I could think about in that moment was like, is she joking now? [01:32:34] You know, are they doing this for real? [01:32:37] I. [01:32:39] It didn't really like it, couldn't sink in that they were actually being that rude. [01:32:45] And while I was sitting in there, first I was like, okay, this is not happening. [01:32:49] And then I started getting a bit angry and then I started getting frustrated. [01:32:54] And I was like, I just want this to be over with. [01:32:56] Yeah. [01:32:57] And the fact is, I was supposed to have a longer interview and they cut it short. [01:33:02] So I, you know, still, I think it's interesting that they actually let me keep the interview because sometimes, you know, they actually. [01:33:10] Take the tape away if you don't like their tape. [01:33:13] And you know what? [01:33:14] That's so interesting because that just tells you that this was normal Blake Lively behavior. [01:33:19] They weren't even thinking that, oh, she's not behaving very nicely towards this reporter. [01:33:24] They were just like, okay, yeah, she's like that with everyone. [01:33:28] They're going to use her to get that tape in in front of the jury, Brett. [01:33:32] And you tell me how a jury is likely to react to that. [01:33:36] Well, I think the jury is going to react exactly how we all did. [01:33:39] It makes you feel really, really uncomfortable. [01:33:42] And it paints Blake in such a mean girl light. [01:33:46] And even just seeing her facial expressions, it makes you wonder what she's capable of and how far she will go to secure the next level of whatever it is she's trying to gain. [01:33:59] The thing that I have learned is that. [01:34:00] Mean girls always fall, and the bigger they are, the harder the fall. [01:34:05] And in this case, I do hope that we get to see a very serious fall. [01:34:11] I'm a mom of a son, and this whole me too, believe all women thing went to such a different level where it concerns me as a mom of a son that women will just automatically default position, be believed. [01:34:25] And I think we're starting to see the implications of that in real time with someone who is very narcissistic. [01:34:31] And very, very mean, and honestly, probably won't stop at anything to get what she wants. [01:34:37] So I do, I hope that's shown to the jury because it's a perfect picture of how ugly and mean women can be. [01:34:45] Oh, it will be. [01:34:46] They will use Kirstie to get it into evidence. [01:34:49] Good for her. [01:34:50] She can lay the foundation for it. [01:34:52] And they can show it as because their defense is going to be it wasn't Justin's PR team that caused Blake Lively's bad press or her declining popularity. [01:35:01] It was Blake Lively herself and the way she conducted herself on camera repeatedly. [01:35:06] Here's a little more from Kirstie with Billy Bush again on his show two days ago. [01:35:12] SOT 34. [01:35:13] Seen a bunch of reports lately. [01:35:15] She wants to kill a 2009 article where she uses the word tranny. [01:35:21] Yeah. [01:35:21] And then, of course, a 2014 article where it's about her wedding to Ryan Reynolds on a plantation. [01:35:29] So there you go. [01:35:30] You've got the LGBTQ community, you've got blacks. [01:35:34] People, you've got it. [01:35:35] This is she got it all covered, yeah. [01:35:38] And now I think what she's been doing the last couple of days when she's been filing all this stuff that she doesn't want the public to see, and by doing that, she just reminds everyone of all the bad PR she's received before this. [01:35:52] So, everything that she doesn't want the jury to know, she's making sure that the public knows. [01:35:57] And her whole point of this lawsuit is to convince the public that she is, you know, a nice person and that she's supposed to be really popular. [01:36:06] So, it's really everything she does just back. [01:36:08] Fires on her in such a stupid way. [01:36:15] You know, here's my question. [01:36:16] One of the interesting things, Will, is who's going to react more negatively, the male jurors or the female jurors? [01:36:26] I don't personally know exactly how they would react in that. [01:36:29] I'll be honest with you, Megan. [01:36:30] I hadn't heard of the story before. [01:36:31] Maybe I'm too much of a man and didn't even know that Blake Lively's things were going on beforehand. [01:36:36] But what I can say with these kind of things going on is that there's only really two ways to get canceled in Hollywood, and that's either your movies stop making money or you don't align with the leftist principles. [01:36:47] And so, honestly, with all of this, I feel it's very sad that Blake Lively is going to be completely fine after this, and that nothing is going to actually happen to her. [01:36:55] She's going to continue to get cast in films and all of this. [01:36:58] And these are just the kind of things that the American people deal with as long as they have the right opinions and they keep making money. [01:37:03] And I find that very sad. [01:37:04] And maybe that's part of the reason why I'm not so involved with Hollywood culture, because I mean, these people, their lives and the way they treat people and how they act is just so irrelevant to the way that I try and live my life. [01:37:17] I unfortunately don't think anything's actually going to even happen to her in a negative light. [01:37:24] I'll say I think women are going to respond more negatively to it, but I think men are going to be right there. [01:37:28] They're going to be right there too because they're going to feel protective of Christy. [01:37:32] They're not going to like this rich bitch putting down this earnest, sweet reporter who was doing nothing wrong and they'll feel protective of her. [01:37:41] But the women are going to make her pay. [01:37:44] They are not going to like that. [01:37:45] We've all been on the receiving end of that mean girl shit, Brit. [01:37:49] And she. [01:37:51] This little sweet act that she can get away with when she sits in front of like a Hollywood press where she doesn't take questions. [01:37:57] She's just in front of the camera glowing, like, oh, poor me. [01:38:00] It's not going to fly when she's under cross examination and she's got somebody like that that the jury gets to see. [01:38:06] I honestly, well, you know, I love you. [01:38:08] I actually think that this is going to kill her career. [01:38:10] I don't think that she's going to go much further than this. [01:38:13] And I agree, right? [01:38:14] We know that Hollywood has left and all of their agenda, but I think she way overplayed her hand. [01:38:20] And I don't think women are going to be showing up to. [01:38:23] See her movies anymore. [01:38:24] I know that the overall tone on Blake Lively and even her fallout, I think now with Taylor Swift and some of the other Brittany Mahata or whoever she is, like the NFL wife, there's been a lot of fallouts in her. [01:38:35] There you go. [01:38:36] In her inner circles, that I think signals a larger fallout where I just don't think people are going to show up and watch her in a romance film and be thinking, oh, I wish I could be her, which is really the play for women's emotions. [01:38:49] So I think she overplayed it. [01:38:51] And I think, I personally think she's done. === Hollywood Agenda Overplayed (02:18) === [01:38:54] Yeah, I agree with you. [01:38:55] I think she's in an Amber Heard situation at the end of this trial. [01:38:59] Totally agree. [01:39:00] She's got nothing. [01:39:00] Yeah. [01:39:01] She's got nothing. [01:39:01] Here's another sampling, by the way, of her during the promotion of a film about domestic violence and her messaging at the time, SOT 35. [01:39:11] And It Ends With Us is in theaters now. [01:39:13] So grab your friends, wear your florals, and head out to see it. [01:39:17] So if someone understands the themes of this movie, comes across you in public, and they want to really talk to you, what's the best way for them? [01:39:25] To be able to talk to you about this, how would you recommend they go about it? [01:39:28] Like asking for my address or my phone number or like my location share. [01:39:32] I could just location share you and then we could. [01:39:36] So, we're making the hot chocolate cookies that Atlas makes for young Lily in our movie, It Ends With Us. [01:39:42] You guys, we talked about our movie, not at all. [01:39:44] Thanks for joining us. [01:39:45] In theaters, August 9th. [01:39:46] Yeah. [01:39:48] That's a wrap, guys. [01:39:49] We got it. [01:39:51] I think she's done. [01:39:53] I think she's cooked. [01:39:54] I don't like her. [01:39:55] Just judging off of that, I have such a bad taste in my mouth. [01:39:59] I don't like her. [01:40:00] And I think that's going to be the overall takeaway in the macro. [01:40:05] I don't think people are going to be showing up to watch her anymore. [01:40:09] Well, I think it's interesting. [01:40:10] Will doesn't know anything about this. [01:40:11] In the time we have left, how do you like her? [01:40:14] What's your impression of her? [01:40:15] He used to have a big crush on her as a kid. [01:40:18] So I thought she was beautiful. [01:40:20] I saw her in one movie. [01:40:21] I thought she looked great. [01:40:22] But I guess now I don't have a crush on her. [01:40:25] You know, me and Blake Lively, it's over for us. [01:40:26] So I'm sorry. [01:40:27] I'm sorry. [01:40:28] This is a crazy hard fall for you, Will. [01:40:30] Sorry. [01:40:31] Yeah, unfortunately. [01:40:32] Yeah. [01:40:32] But no, of course, I mean, that's total mangrove behavior. [01:40:34] And it's indicative of the people who are in Hollywood who never have anyone tell them no. [01:40:37] They constantly get told yes, they can't do any wrong. [01:40:40] And this is how they act. [01:40:41] And they treat people like garbage. [01:40:42] And so this isn't surprising at all that her true colors are coming out. [01:40:46] And yeah, I don't think very highly of her at all or really anyone in Hollywood, to be honest. [01:40:50] There's very few people there. [01:40:51] It's really just surprising she did it on camera, you know, but you're right. [01:40:55] It's a function of her narcissism and her being. [01:40:57] told how wonderful she is, that she thinks she can do this and everyone's going to be on her side. [01:41:01] And she's always right. [01:41:02] All right, Britt, can you stay over? [01:41:04] My team says you can stay a little. [01:41:05] I know Will's got to run. [01:41:06] All right, stay around because I've got to. [01:41:09] There's a couple of things I need to get to with you. [01:41:10] Okay, we'll be right back. [01:44:57] Britt, a couple things that I wanted to talk to you about. [01:45:00] First of all, I don't know if you ever watched or are familiar with the show Malcolm in the Middle, but it's like a family show, wholesome, like kind of universally safe. [01:45:12] Well, it's getting a reboot, and it's getting a reboot with a female character who is non binary. [01:45:22] Great. [01:45:23] Says at five, who says at five, she started to feel wrong. [01:45:28] Here's the soundbite SOT 36. [01:45:30] I was like five when I started feeling wrong. [01:45:37] I thought I was great at hiding it because you guys never said anything. [01:45:42] But then I had this one really shitty day in the fifth grade, the other kids and even my teacher. [01:45:58] When I had little kid problems, I'd just go to dad. [01:46:03] And he'd clown around and make me feel better. [01:46:07] And I wanted to do that, but instead I just blurted out, Dad, am I wrong? [01:46:16] And he was looking at me, and I knew that he knew and had always known. [01:46:27] Okay. [01:46:27] Now we, yeah, we have to have a non binary in the reboot. [01:46:32] And apparently the show creators. [01:46:35] Have said, let's see, it's Tracy Katsky, the executive producer, along with Linwood Boomer, their husband and wife together. [01:46:45] And they say, Katsky, the wife says, I got to tell you, it's a really important thing to us. [01:46:51] Three out of our four children are queer. [01:46:57] And so, without making it a thing or without making it an issue, I think it's really nice to have a character that's just a facet of their personality as opposed to the entire story. [01:47:06] Your thoughts? [01:47:07] Well, my thoughts just watching that clip. [01:47:09] I do remember Malcolm in the Middle because I think that was like a big show back in the day. [01:47:13] I didn't know that they were doing a reboot, but it's poison. [01:47:16] That is why my kids do not watch cable because everything that is hurled at them with this debase ideology is so confusing. [01:47:25] Even watching that as an adult, it's confusing. [01:47:28] I don't like what. [01:47:29] Are you trying to say you went to your dad because you were having little kid problems? [01:47:34] And then your dad said, I've always known. [01:47:36] But what that communicates to a kid is that when you are confused about bigger things that your frontal cortex can't fully process, maybe you're a boy. [01:47:47] Maybe you just should tell your parents you're a boy. [01:47:50] It's poisonous and it's toxic and it causes irreparable damage. [01:47:54] Ultimately, it is child abuse on TV screens. [01:47:58] I am so sick and tired. [01:48:00] Of the target being our kids through reboots and through whatever that poison is and wherever that poison comes from. [01:48:10] The more they slip it into our culture as normal, the more children are going to be attracted to it. [01:48:18] And parents, the vast majority of them will have no idea that the reboot of Malcolm in the Middle, starring Frankie Muniz, who is back now as the adult, is going to be anything other than super family friendly. [01:48:31] They're just going to have, like, wow, or they're going to let their kids watch it when they're not around and have this very sick ideology shoved down their children's throats. [01:48:42] While they are trusting and making dinner and not really paying attention, this is how kids get pulled down this lane, Britt. [01:48:49] But it used to be they'd have to go on Reddit at least or spend hours and hours on YouTube. [01:48:53] Now it's going to be on mainstream programs. [01:48:55] You make a good point, though, that parents wouldn't expect that. [01:48:58] I know that they're doing a reboot of Little House on the Prairie. [01:49:01] I don't know what to expect there either. [01:49:04] But as a mom in this day and age, that's why we have to be so on it and we don't have time to watch everything and screen everything. [01:49:11] Thank the Lord for Hail Mary that I could actually take my kids to and there wasn't. [01:49:15] Anything shoved at them. [01:49:17] We want more of that. [01:49:18] We want more of the feel good where I can take my kids to see a show and we all enjoy it. [01:49:24] We like, we feel so good after leaving. [01:49:27] But if that crap was on my TV screen, you know how confusing that would be to not my kids because my kids are well aware of the poison, but to so many kids across America who would just sit there and think, huh, you know what? [01:49:39] I kind of feel confused about whatever it is. [01:49:42] Maybe I'm a boy. [01:49:43] Maybe I identify and that's the poison. [01:49:46] That's it, it is so sadistic, it is so abusive. [01:49:48] And then they get handed over to the therapist who tells them, Yeah, you are a boy. [01:49:52] And then they get handed over to the machine of medicine that puts them on poison to stop their puberty. [01:49:58] And then they end up on cutting machines where their bodies are irreparably damaged for life. [01:50:03] It is so sick. [01:50:04] It's as it is one of the greatest sins in America. [01:50:07] And I hate that it's still being pushed. [01:50:09] I hate it, hate it, hate it. === Religious Tension and Context (12:47) === [01:50:11] Yeah, yes. [01:50:12] There was, um, there's a soundbite making the news from Elizabeth Banks, the actress. [01:50:17] Saying she can't believe that 52% of white women voted for Trump over Kamala Harris. [01:50:23] And she feels like, you know, we've abandoned her and we just did the wrong thing. [01:50:27] And how could we? [01:50:27] And it's like, you know how we could? [01:50:29] This. [01:50:30] Exactly. [01:50:30] This shit. [01:50:31] Yep. [01:50:31] We actually care about our children. [01:50:33] We want our boys to say boys and our girls to say girls. [01:50:36] And we don't want people like you, Elizabeth, getting their hands on them and giving them any mixed messages about what's possible when it comes to gender, sex, et cetera, very easily. [01:50:44] And would obviously vote for Trump again. [01:50:46] Yes. [01:50:46] It doesn't matter around war or not, like 100% would pull the lever for Trump again. [01:50:51] Over a Kamala Harris, you've got to be crazy. [01:50:54] It's crazy talk. [01:50:55] I was just thinking that this morning. [01:50:57] I was actually going through everything going on with Trump and the administration. [01:51:01] And there's so much to say on that side of why there's a lot of people who aren't loving him anymore. [01:51:06] And I get that, the geopolitical lens. [01:51:08] But as a mom, I'm telling you, moms read the room differently, and moms understand why he was and still is the better alternative because it comes down to our kids. [01:51:20] Easily, easily. [01:51:21] I mean, we're not judging him against any other Republicans. [01:51:23] We're judging him against Kamala Harris, a truly radical person. [01:51:26] Now, speaking of the controversy around Trump, the big one this week has been his fight with the Pope. [01:51:35] And on top of that, him posting this picture of himself as Jesus, which then he did the rare thing he actually took it down. [01:51:44] He got so much blowback on that from Christians that he took it down. [01:51:48] But then, in my view, he did the wrong thing because he lied about it and said, Oh, I didn't know I was Jesus. [01:51:52] I thought I was a doctor. [01:51:53] I don't believe one word of that. [01:51:55] It's like, just don't lie. [01:51:57] Just say, I took it down, thought it would be funny, whatever. [01:52:00] Enough people were offended that I took it down. [01:52:02] But he didn't. [01:52:03] So Joy Behar and the ladies of the View decided to weigh in on this. [01:52:08] And listen to what Joy Behar said. [01:52:11] Listen to where Joy Behar took it. [01:52:14] This is actually genuinely funny. [01:52:16] Watch. [01:52:16] Jesus himself did not run around saying, I'm the Messiah. [01:52:19] I'm the Messiah. [01:52:21] Jesus said, You're supposed to have a little bit of here. [01:52:23] That's exactly what Jesus said. [01:52:25] I am the Messiah. [01:52:26] You know what? [01:52:27] No, he did not. [01:52:28] It's been a long time. [01:52:31] The Pope's got him. [01:52:33] He's got God in mind. [01:52:34] She just said, I knew Jesus. [01:52:37] Jesus was not narcissistic like this guy. [01:52:41] But when you are the Messiah, it's not narcissism to say it. [01:52:43] Yes, it is. [01:52:44] When you are the Messiah, it's not. [01:52:46] I'm going to move this along because this is like, it's too much for me. [01:52:51] Too stupid even for Whoopi. [01:52:55] Yeah, Jesus did run around saying, I am the Messiah. [01:52:59] It's Kind of why all the Jews got mad at him and brought him over to the Romans, saying, Let's get rid of this guy. [01:53:04] He's claiming he's God. [01:53:05] Like, yeah, honestly, that is incredibly ignorant, even for the view. [01:53:10] I mean, the view has a very low threshold, but I saw that clip and I was thinking, Wait a second, you know, I'm a cradle Protestant, so I was raised in the church. [01:53:19] I actually was planning to go to study MDiv years ago. [01:53:24] That was my passion, was theology, and it didn't end up working out that way. [01:53:28] But I, Have been a student of the Bible for a really long time. [01:53:31] And when I was watching that, I'm thinking, wait a second. [01:53:34] At the very beginning of Jesus' ministry, there's a story of him in John where he meets with a Samaritan woman at a well. [01:53:41] And she tells him, like, my people have been waiting for a Messiah. [01:53:46] And Jesus' response at the very beginning of his ministry is, I am he. [01:53:51] So just hearing joy reduce him to what they always do, right? [01:53:55] He's a mascot, he's a cute guy in a white, flowy suit. [01:54:01] I think it showcases how media doesn't understand Jesus. [01:54:06] And, you know, yeah, was it funny, but it was so theologically wrong. [01:54:10] Jesus absolutely claimed to be the Messiah. [01:54:12] And, like you said, it's what got him in a lot of trouble and ultimately on the cross. [01:54:16] Yeah. [01:54:17] Yeah. [01:54:18] I mean, like, it's sort of a basic tenet. [01:54:20] I don't know what Joy's religion is, but sort of a basic tenet of Judeo. [01:54:24] Well, they don't believe that he was the Messiah, but they understand he said it, Christian beliefs. [01:54:29] So the level of ignorance was kind of stunning over that. [01:54:32] Yeah, and it's pushed us so far on the subject. [01:54:33] It's, it's, that's what's so ridiculous. [01:54:35] Oh, my God. [01:54:35] It's pushed as if she is a pastor. [01:54:37] She is a theologian. [01:54:38] She knows he would never because he would be so narcissistic. [01:54:41] Am I narcissistic to claim my name's Brit? [01:54:43] Like, it's just so ridiculous. [01:54:45] Right. [01:54:45] Right. [01:54:47] It was actually really stunning. [01:54:48] And she doubled and tripled and quadrupled down. [01:54:50] It was actually very amusing to me. [01:54:51] Like, you had, Like, there was no even sense of, like, wait, am I out of the living here that I want to, like, from? [01:55:00] Nope, nope. [01:55:01] Okay, on the subject of theology making its way into the White House a lot, you know, President Trump taking on the Pope and posing as Jesus, I've got to talk to you about Pete Hegstad. [01:55:14] I'm a fan of Pete's. [01:55:15] I helped get him this job. [01:55:17] He would be the first to tell you that. [01:55:19] However, I am not a fan of the praying. [01:55:22] And the constant references to God, Jesus, and the Bible from the Pentagon while he's announcing war plans. [01:55:31] It makes me very uncomfortable. [01:55:33] Very. [01:55:34] I do not think those two things belong together. [01:55:37] I much prefer the Dan Raisin Cain approach of just the facts. [01:55:42] The religion, obviously, it's a major part of Pete's life. [01:55:45] That's great. [01:55:46] And I'm in favor of that. [01:55:47] It doesn't belong when you're talking about our plans to wipe out people, including possible civilians. [01:55:54] As President Trump continues to threaten, it's these two things do not belong together. [01:55:58] And I just, I am really uncomfortable with it. [01:56:01] If Joe Biden did this through his Pentagon, I would have ripped him a new one. [01:56:04] And therefore, notwithstanding my friendship with Pete, I feel the need to register my strong objection to what he's doing. [01:56:12] Today, he did it about, I'm going to play you the soundbite. [01:56:17] You're going to hear a long windup on a religious story he told about his time in church this past Sunday. [01:56:22] He's talking, you will ultimately learn at the end of it. [01:56:24] I think it's beneficial to know right now. [01:56:27] About the press. [01:56:28] He's going to turn this whole thing, this story he's going to tell us, around on the horrible press, which is like another, like, what is he doing? [01:56:38] You do not, in that post, bring up Jesus to rip on media from your perch at the Pentagon. [01:56:47] Here's what happened. [01:56:49] This past Sunday, I was sitting in church with my family, and our minister preached from the book of Mark, the third chapter. [01:56:58] And in the passage, Jesus entered a synagogue and healed a man with a withered hand. [01:57:05] The Pharisees came to watch. [01:57:07] And as the scripture reads, they came to see whether he, Jesus, would heal him on the Sabbath so that they might accuse him. [01:57:19] You see, the Pharisees, the so called and self appointed elites of their time, they were there to witness, to write everything down, to report. [01:57:31] But their hearts were hardened. [01:57:33] Even though they witnessed a literal miracle, it didn't matter. [01:57:38] They were only there to explain away the goodness in pursuit of their agenda. [01:57:44] As the passage ends, the Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel against him, how to destroy him. [01:57:51] I sat there in church and I thought, our press are just like these Pharisees. [01:57:57] Not all of you, not all of you, but the legacy Trump hating press. [01:58:06] Okay. [01:58:07] Your thoughts on that and this administration's increasingly frequent use of Catholicism and Christianity and Jesus himself to make a political point. [01:58:22] Yeah, I mean, that makes me uncomfortable too. [01:58:25] I was there with the windup. [01:58:26] You know, I'm kind of waiting where are you going to connect the dots here? [01:58:29] What you're saying is accurate, the story you're painting, but how are you going to connect it? [01:58:33] And then when it turns and you're relating a very deeply theological issue to the press. [01:58:39] Yeah, that rubs me wrong. [01:58:41] It doesn't, it's not a good connection. [01:58:43] You know, it's taken totally out of context. [01:58:45] What I will say is that historically we have had leaders in America who have called upon the Bible and theology to support missions or policies. [01:58:55] So I'm not as uncomfortable, you know, with that. [01:58:58] I think it needs to be treaded with very much care and never to take the name Jesus or to take a meme or to take a Bible story and then twist it. [01:59:09] Because anyone can do that. [01:59:11] And that's where religion and politics can be very, very dangerous and manipulated and used for very, very bad means. [01:59:17] So I think we have to be very careful. [01:59:19] Do I trust Pete Hegseth much more than I would, say, Biden or Kamala spewing Bible verses? [01:59:26] Yes. [01:59:27] Am I also a little weary and concerned about how Bible verses are used when it comes to politics? [01:59:34] Yes. [01:59:35] I have a blanket distrust on how it can be used and taken out of context. [01:59:40] Obviously, I'm very concerned about the religious advisor that. [01:59:44] Trump has closest to him, Paula White. [01:59:46] You know, I think that's very dangerous. [01:59:48] Yes, very, very dangerous. [01:59:49] She's a nutcase. [01:59:50] Total nutcase. [01:59:51] And that's why I think we have to be very careful. [01:59:53] But I will say, too, in Romans, we see that there is absolutely a place where, in God's perfect order for human flourishing, God gives government a role. [02:00:04] And that role is to protect and to defend and to yield the sword against injustice. [02:00:09] So I think that there's a tension. [02:00:11] I would say there's a tension held in how religion works. [02:00:15] Plays out and to really make sure that it is not used as a weapon for personal gain. [02:00:21] Yeah, I think as an inspiration, absolutely. [02:00:24] References to God in general, totally for them. [02:00:27] But the Sunday biblical references, Psalms, and so on that we've been getting from Pete Hegseth, like regularly, as he's announcing who we're going to bomb next or how we're going to kill next, it makes me extremely uncomfortable. [02:00:44] I'm begging you, Pete, to stop doing that. [02:00:45] I think also the platform, right? [02:00:47] Too. [02:00:48] Like, is that the right place to talk about the man with the withered hand having his hand healed? [02:00:53] Because I don't know if that's the right environment for that. [02:00:57] I get if you're on a podcast and you're talking about it as a personal note, but also attaching that story to the press is so far out of bounds. [02:01:06] That's not what that story is at all about. [02:01:08] And that's where it can become really dangerous. [02:01:11] And we have to really tread as Christians with care in all of these issues. [02:01:15] Yes, see everything from a biblical lens and worldview, but also we cannot reduce scripture for personal gain or even for. [02:01:25] Political justification of things. [02:01:27] I do want to tell you this, Megan. [02:01:28] I think when I saw that picture that Trump posted, because I saw it when it went live, I thought there's no way that Trump really posted that. [02:01:35] And sure enough, he did. [02:01:36] I thought it was him trolling the Pope. [02:01:39] I never thought that it was Jesus. [02:01:41] And I know a lot of people, they said, oh, that's a messianic imagery. [02:01:44] I thought it was because he's been in this battle of words with the Pope. [02:01:47] So I thought it was him showing, look, I am the new Pope in town. [02:01:51] And then when he said he was trying to be a doctor, Really? [02:01:55] So I just think we have to handle all of this stuff with care. [02:01:58] I think when you start to bring the religious icons and the religious words into the political square as politicians, you really run the risk of things not landing as they should. [02:02:11] Yeah. [02:02:12] He and the Pope are in an ongoing battle now, battle of words back and forth. [02:02:16] And it's like, I realize Trump is always a counterpuncher. [02:02:19] The Pope attacked him first, but it's like he's the Pope. [02:02:22] Just ignore him. [02:02:23] You know, like Catholics have learned to understand there's not everything about their church they agree with. [02:02:27] We certainly like a border. [02:02:29] Unlike our Pope. [02:02:31] And we love our Pope, but it doesn't mean like we don't, if he tells us the war is wrong, we understand that's his position. [02:02:37] We'll make up our own minds politically about you and what you've done. [02:02:41] It doesn't really serve President Trump to get into a tit for tat with Colombia. [02:02:44] Especially with the Minnesota. [02:02:45] I really wish that would stop, too. [02:02:46] I agree. [02:02:47] Yeah. [02:02:48] Why? [02:02:48] Why alienate Catholics? [02:02:50] You know, we're one fifth of the population and we tend to be more conservative in our thinking. [02:02:55] There's just no reason to do it. [02:02:56] Just ignore, ignore, rise above. === Pope Trump Border Battle (01:07) === [02:02:58] Britt, a pleasure, my friend. [02:02:59] Great to see you. [02:03:00] Always love this.
