[00:00:03]  It's rare for them to start out on the highest point of the episode.

[00:00:13]  I mean, that is kind of like the formula of 9-1-1 is like you kind of start off with something kind of crazy, but it's usually not the highlight.
[00:00:22]  But this one was great.
[00:00:23]  So this is what I have written down, because what's happening is we're opening up and it's like at a at like a It's like a plaza.
[00:00:32]  Like a plaza.
[00:00:32]  Like an open plaza where you would see like food carts and shit.
[00:00:35]  Exactly.
[00:00:36]  In between a bunch of skyscrapers.
[00:00:37]  Like a hot dog or something like that.
[00:00:39]  Yeah, we're, oh, I wrote down what she was getting because it was really stupid.
[00:00:42]  What was she getting?
[00:00:43]  We're looking at a really hot, successful businesswoman.
[00:00:46]  Like a businesswoman that Romy and Michelle want to be.
[00:00:49]  And she is buying two incredibly bland looking salads.
[00:00:53]  Is that what it is?
[00:00:55]  Absolutely not a food that will get you through the rest of your desk job.

[00:01:03]  And she's having a conversation with her boyfriend, who we find out very, very fast, is on the roof of one of these buildings.
[00:01:13]  Yeah, she's like texting her boyfriend.
[00:01:15]  She's like, oh, are you coming?
[00:01:17]  And he's like, oh yeah, like I'll be right down.
[00:01:19]  Be right down is so good.
[00:01:21]  And we see that he's standing on top of a skyscraper in a dorky suit wearing like base jumping gear.
[00:01:28]  I love that he was in a suit.
[00:01:30]  He was in like a full suit, but also base jumping gear, helmet, parachute, the whole nine.
[00:01:37]  And because this is 9-1-1, you're thinking, oh my God, this guy's parachute's going to fail when he... because it's obvious what's happening here.
[00:01:44]  You're thinking like, yeah, this guy's a noob.
[00:01:47]  This is not going to go well.
[00:01:48]  Like he doesn't really know how to face jump.
[00:01:49]  He's going to splat on that marble plaza.
[00:01:52]  And even if some freak thing's gonna happen, to where, like, this is gonna- and you know- you kind of already know what's gonna happen, because it's pretty cliche.
[00:02:00]  He's clearly going to base jump and gonna propose to her when he lands.
[00:02:04]  Yeah.
[00:02:04]  The episode's called Love is in the Air, you know something's coming, and this is the thing that's coming, but this is 9-1-1.
[00:02:10]  So a base jumper's parachute failing is too simple.
[00:02:14]  Yeah, it's too easy.
[00:02:15]  You're not going to let us off the hook.
[00:02:17]  So to our chagrin, our man lands and he flawlessly does a great job.
[00:02:24]  Yeah, it's a killer.
[00:02:24]  He lands right in front of her.
[00:02:27]  Um, and he's about to, uh, he's about to propose.
[00:02:30]  He's on his knee.
[00:02:30]  I don't think he gets the question out yet.
[00:02:32]  No, he like presents.
[00:02:34]  He gets down onto his knee.
[00:02:35]  Oh no, he actually does.
[00:02:37]  Cause I took another stupid fucking note about this too, because how he proposed really disgusted me.
[00:02:43]  Oh yeah.

[00:02:44]  He does say that.
[00:02:45]  He base jumps to girlfriend and then says, after saying, I'll be right down.
[00:02:50]  And then he like gets down on his knee and he's like, I know I'm always asking you to jump with me on weekends, but now all I want is for you to take this lover's loop, which is something I've never heard before and I never want to hear again.
[00:03:03]  He's like, take this leap with me.
[00:03:05]  It's like, you fucking, what are you talking about, you nerd?
[00:03:09]  But again, this is 9-1-1.
[00:03:11]  So these things, this is all going all too smooth.
[00:03:14]  And you got a feeling because you see, you see his parachute in the street.
[00:03:18]  Yeah.
[00:03:18]  You see it.
[00:03:18]  He didn't like take it off.
[00:03:20]  He didn't detach himself from it.
[00:03:21]  And it's just in the street.
[00:03:22]  Yeah.
[00:03:23]  So you already kind of know what's going to happen because this is 9-1-1.
[00:03:26]  You know, what's going to happen.
[00:03:28]  Sure enough, his parachute gets caught by a truck.
[00:03:31]  The truck speeds off.
[00:03:34]  The truck speeds off, dragging this man behind him.
[00:03:37]  Our man speeds with it.

=== Bank Robber Pursuit (01:57) ===

[00:03:39]  And she just immediately calls 9-1-1, just knows what to do.
[00:03:43]  And because this is 9-1-1, this is still not enough.
[00:03:46]  This is all too easy.
[00:03:47]  Yeah, it's not just a guy in a truck.
[00:03:50]  She calls 9-1-1, and I think it's Maddie that answers.
[00:03:53]  Jennifer Love Hewitt.
[00:03:55]  And she's like, the truck hit his parachute and it drug him off.
[00:04:00]  And Maddie's like, yeah, that was a bank robber.
[00:04:03]  Yeah, yeah.
[00:04:04]  It was a great truck.
[00:04:06]  That was a bank robber.
[00:04:07]  What do you mean it's a bank robber?
[00:04:09]  Why does this panicked woman need to know that it was a bank robber?
[00:04:13]  That's not her problem.
[00:04:14]  That's not her problem.
[00:04:15]  Also, that's going to make it much more stressful as it did for us, the viewer, because you're like, oh no, now this person does have an incentive not to slow down.
[00:04:23]  There is a reason why they're going way too fast because they take off real fast.
[00:04:28]  Yeah, they like they like peeled around the corner and then like hit the gas.
[00:04:33]  Yeah, yeah.
[00:04:34]  And and while this is happening, of course, because this is a bank robber, a bank robbers must be pursued.
[00:04:41]  And because this is this is the show we're watching, it's the best show in the world.
[00:04:46]  Of course, it's Athena, the one cop on the show that we have in the show.
[00:04:51]  The the the queen cop, Athena Angela Bassett, is the one chasing the car.
[00:04:56]  And she's like having like dialogue with the truck.
[00:05:01]  Yeah, she's just talking through her loudspeaker and she's just like, pull over like you've got nowhere to go.
[00:05:06]  They gave you you know, they gave you a dummy pack.
[00:05:08]  Yeah, they gave money.
[00:05:10]  They gave you dummy money.
[00:05:11]  Like, don't even bother.
[00:05:12]  And then The driver, dude, decides to verify that while he's driving.
[00:05:18]  No one else is driving for him.
[00:05:19]  Just him.
[00:05:20]  And he checks, and it fucking explodes in his face and causes him to not be able to see where he's going.
[00:05:28]  Like, pro tip, if you're ever going to check a duffel bag for an explosive dye pack, don't do it while you're driving.
