Welcome to this podcast on AI, why China is about to absolutely destroy the U.S. AI industry, why China will win the AI race to superintelligence, and why the U.S. industry has made critical mistakes, and Trump is making critical mistakes, that will lose this, the most important technological race in the history of civilization on our planet.
As far as we know, Trump is making America lose.
So welcome to the podcast.
I'm Mike Adams.
I'm an AI developer.
I single-handedly built the world's most popular AI-powered book creation engine, now publishing over 20,000 books, all free to download and read at brightlearn.ai.
And you can create your own book there in minutes on any topic completely free.
And it's all powered by AI and our massive in-house indexed library of over 50,000 books and 110,000 science papers that are used as research targets for the book writing agents.
Anyway, you can play around with that, have fun with it.
The point is, I know a lot about AI.
I've used all the engines from all the major companies all over the world.
I've been steeped in this technology for the last two years, and I have a strong tech background.
So I'm an accomplished AI developer.
I've talked and met with many people, frontier model creators, some of the top industry scientists in America.
And also, as you know, I speak conversational Chinese, so I can understand some of the Chinese discussions, although I still don't know a lot of the technical jargon.
It keeps changing anyway.
They keep coming up with new stuff out of China.
I'm like, what's that word?
Never heard that before.
So anyway, yeah, I have a strong tech background, used to own and run a software company and run teams of software developers, etc.
Okay, so with that background established, let me explain something really critical here.
China is about to release DeepSeek version 4.
And this is coming out, it's rumored to be maybe late February or possibly mid-February.
DeepSeek is an extraordinary organization.
And it was about a year ago they released DeepSeek R1, which was this revolutionary reasoning model that just broke the AI industry.
And it showed that high-quality reasoning models could be achieved for a fraction of the cost of what U.S. companies are spending.
Now, since then, DeepSeek has also released more conventional LLMs.
The most notable is their current model, DeepSeek version 3.2, which is really extraordinary because it achieves very high throughput, even though it's a very large model.
It accomplishes something called DeepSeek sparse attention.
Sparse attention is a way to only turn on the nodes that are necessary to solve your particular problem without wasting compute and tokens on the entire brain of the LLM, you know, to put it simply.
It's better than just a mixture of experts.
It's a deeper selective activation of the thinking of the model.
And the model is extraordinary.
I mean, it's right there.
It's competitive with ChatGPT and anything from Google, anything from Microsoft, etc.
Well, now DeepSeek is about to release a version 4.
And according to leaked reports, version 4 is a coding monster that it beats anthropic clawed code, even Opus 4.5.
It beats all of that at coding.
Now that's extraordinary.
Oh, and it's said to also beat Gemini at coding and all the other models.
It's supposed to be the best coding model in the world.
Plus, it has major improvements in other areas as well, such as enhanced attention, enhanced training methods.
Famously, there was a paper that was just published recently by a DeepSeek scientist that shows a key architecture, parallel, multi-layered architecture using well, maintaining the integrity of matrices as concepts bubble up through the neural network, I guess might be one way to put it.
Anyway, essentially, China is way ahead of the world by far, beating everybody in the U.S. on the architecture of LLMs.
DeepSeek version 4 is, my prediction is it's going to rock the world.
It's going to blow away Chat GPT.
It's going to make ChatGPT obsolete.
It's going to make Google panic.
Now, Google technically is very competent, even though the company is extremely evil.
But Google does have a lot of very capable engineers.
They're going to panic and scramble, and they'll probably stay neck and neck for quite some time.
But ChatGPT is about to become obsolete.
And here's why.
The other important reason, it's not just that DeepSeek version 4 is going to blow away everything.
Because China is a country that has masses of engineers.
They're highly intelligent people, very disciplined, very hard workers.
In China, I don't know if you've heard this, but there's a work style called Joe Joe Lio.
996.
Joe, Joe Lio, is that's how you say it in Chinese, but 996 means 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., six days a week.
That's what you're expected to work when you're working with an AI company in China.
And also even in Silicon Valley, companies that are dominated by Chinese engineers.
So it's 12 hours a day, six days a week.
Meanwhile, typical Americans are not that dedicated.
They're like, no, I need my paid time off vacation things and whatever.
Okay.
Americans just don't have a work ethic like Chinese.
It's flat out.
So anyway, DeepSeek version 4 is going to rock the world.
But there's something even more incredible.
I mean, not only will it engage in inference much more efficiently and more cost-effectively, it'll be cheaper and faster to run than anything else in the world.
But and this is China's strategy.
DeepSeek will be released for free.
Open source, open weights, which means that anybody can take the model and customize it.
You can retrain on top of the model.
I might do that.
I might take the model and train on top of it and use it to turn out like a DeepSeek Brighton model or something.
I don't know.
It's a big model.
It does take a lot of hardware to train.
But everybody who wants to train on the model will be able to because China makes it free.
And it also means it's transparent.
So unlike OpenAI, which is a misnomer because it's a closed box, it's a black box of secret algorithms.
And by the way, if you take out the A from OpenAI, you get OpenEye.
And OpenEye is the eye of Sauron.
It's also the I over the pyramid on the dollar currency.
So Open Eye is watching you.
And that's what Chat GPT does.
The entire company, OpenAI, is run by evil people at this point.
Unfortunately, Sam Altman being the most evil among them.
So, ChatGPT is an evil company.
You don't want it to exist.
You don't want it to succeed.
And China is going to make OpenAI obsolete virtually overnight.
Because why would anybody, why would any corporation pay ChatGPT money to do a bunch of inference and solve a bunch of problems and create documents or whatever when they could use DeepSeek version 4 for free?
All you have to do is download it and run it on your own hardware.
And it's all free.
I mean, you just pay electricity.
And the intelligence is free.
So this is a brilliant strategy on China's part.
And this is why, well, one reason why China is going to beat the United States in the AI race.
See, China has gone the open source route to release open source models and make them the standard.
Every corporation, every nonprofit, every group all over the world is using, if they're using AI at all, they're using probably either Quen or DeepSeek or some Chinese-based model.
Because why wouldn't you?
They're very high-quality models.
I mean, I know that Meestral from France has released some very good models.
They've done a great job.
And I am impressed.
And they've released Meestrel Small.
I think it's a 24 billion parameter model.
That's an open source model.
I've played with that.
It's very capable.
But it's about to be obsolete also.
Nobody can keep up with China just because of the sheer number of engineers, the work ethic, the investment that's happening there.
I mean, China is playing for keeps.
And I believe that DeepSeek version 4 is going to become the standard for open source large bottles with very fast inference, low cost of compute, relatively speaking.
The tokens per second that you can get out of it, that is even as a very large model, but it has small model performance in terms of tokens per second.
So DeepSeek version 4 is going to become the new standard.
And it will do everything.
It will do translation.
It will write code.
You'll be able to write all your code locally.
That'll be interesting for me because I've been using Claude Code this entire time.
Claude Code version Opus 4.5.
And yesterday, it's a great engine.
Don't get me wrong.
But yesterday, Claude Code dropped an index column from one of my index tables that was indexing all my science papers.
And it just, it dropped the field because I asked it to add a property to the field.
And actually, I asked it, I said, can you add this property to this field without disrupting the database?
I said that exactly.
And it said, yeah, no problem.
Then it dropped the field, which means it deleted it and plunged my database into 100% CPU usage for about 30 minutes, which brought down all the services.
And I was like, I was talking to Claude through the Cloud Code console.
I was like, why did you drop the index field for the science papers?
And it said, oh, I'm sorry.
I shouldn't have done that.
Let's rebuild it.
Oh, great.
So that took an hour and a half to rebuild it.
But anyway, they make mistakes.
And I'm not saying that DeepSeek will be perfect, but Claude Code still has some pretty serious issues.
Cloud Code also released a thing called Claude Coworker, which is a way that you can use Claude Chat and you can let it mess up all your local files on your hard drive.
You give it permission to look at a folder.
I saw a video on YouTube of somebody that was testing it and Claude co-worker deleted 11 gigabytes of the guy's files when he was just asking it to organize a folder and it decided to delete everything.
And then he asked, why did you delete everything?
Oh, sorry.
You know, so yeah, clawed code still has issues, you know, like drop table issues, things like that.
Bad things can happen.
Anyway, DeepSeek's got to become the standard.
DeepSeek does it all.
It writes code.
It does language translation.
It does incredible research, writing.
It's got widespread tool use that's really amazing for automation and agentic operations.
And DeepSeek's going to just blow away the market.
Okay.
Meanwhile, U.S. companies have stopped publishing science papers for the most part.
And that's been the case now for almost a year because China is publishing all the science papers now that show how to make things happen that are really amazing.
China is open sourcing its models and it's open sourcing the knowledge.
U.S. companies are closed sourcing everything because U.S. companies don't want to share their secrets.
They don't want China to copy their science papers and copy their secrets.
The thing is, China doesn't need to copy any secrets.
China's already more advanced.
China's got smarter people.
So really, the U.S. would be copying China at this point.
But because U.S. companies aren't publishing science papers anymore, for the most part, they are stagnating.
They're not sharing information any longer, even amongst U.S. companies.
Whereas in China, everybody is publishing, everybody is sharing, and they are leapfrogging the United States in technology, in methods, things like the DeepSeek Sparse Attention that I just mentioned, and training methods as well.
Lots and lots of high-level math is being, is coming out of China.
Just amazing things.
Like the lean system, which allows local rag that compresses content by 97%.
I mean, it's astonishing what Chinese engineers are achieving.
It's world-class stuff.
Even DeepSeek OCR was another breakthrough from a couple of months ago, also compressing information into visual content through visual tokens or pixel tokens.
That also achieved something like a 97% compression with almost no signal loss.
So China is the innovator in all of this.
Now, what Trump is doing is also insane.
Trump doesn't believe in helping the little guy.
Trump doesn't believe in decentralization.
Trump doesn't believe in open source.
Trump believes in doing big deals with big companies and just centralizing control under the most evil people that he can invite to the White House, whether it's Boorla from Pfizer or whether it's Bill Gates, you know, or whether it's Facebook or Google.
He invites all the worst, most corrupt, most low integrity, low moral value people.
I mean, Netanyahu, for example, he invites them all to the White House and then he gives them trillions of dollars to centralize control and to build a surveillance slave state technocratic system to enslave and surveil the American people.
That's what Trump is into.
Trump isn't about freedom.
He's not about actually making America great again.
He's not about helping the American people.
He's about helping powerful corporations either kill Americans via vaccines or enslave Americans with big tech.
It's clear.
Sorry to burst your bubble if you still love Trump, but the Trump you voted for is not the Trump you got.
The Trump we have now is a totally different creature from the Trump that was on the campaign trail promising all kinds of things like, oh, let's cut the Pentagon budget, let's have peace, end the wars, bring the soldiers home, you know, let's boost the economy, let's invest in the people, you know, nonsense.
None of that stuff happened.
It's all about handing money out to the worst, most evil corporate giants in the world, the ones that in some cases actually are trying to kill you.
That's what Trump is into.
And then on top of that, not only do we have a power shortage problem in the United States that's severe, our power grid can't keep up with the data center power demand.
Well, Trump just announced that he's going to take steps to make sure that the data centers going in no longer use grid power because he said he's going to make sure that there's no price increases for the consumers who are getting hit by massive price increases.
Well, the only way to do that is to prohibit data centers from using the power grid because of, you know, supply and demand and economics.
And I don't want data centers to end up costing consumers more money either.
But Trump's approach to this is to just announce that we're going to prohibit the power companies from raising prices on people.
So this is price controls for electricity.
And you know what will happen?
That will cause providers, that is companies that generate power, to stop selling power to the power grid because there's price controls.
If you can't make a profit generating electricity out of, let's say, natural gas with your gas turbine, then you're not going to sell electricity.
You're not going to run the gas turbine at a loss.
Just like if Trump were to put price controls on bread, then if you're a bread maker, you're not going to make bread at a loss.
You're not going to sell it at a loss, right?
You're only going to sell bread if you can make a little profit along the way.
Same thing with electricity.
So Trump is now initiating price controls for electricity, and that is going to devastate the power grid.
I mean, the three power grids that exist in the United States.
Trump is prohibiting price increases on the power grid, and that will gut the supply of power.
And that's going to leave data centers high and dry.
Data centers across America will have no electricity.
They will sit there empty with the lights off, filled with GPUs and hardware, while Trump brags about how we have the best microchips in the world.
Yeah, but they're not on, you moron.
There's no electricity.
It doesn't help to just have a bunch of chips sitting around in the dark.
For God's sake, you got to power them.
But Trump is prohibiting that.
So how's this going to go down?
The U.S. is going to fall behind even more.
No power, no AI.
I mean, I'm not saying it's going to be zero, but I'm saying for some of the data centers, there will be no power and no AI.
I mean, there's still a power grid.
We do produce, what, 4,400 terawatt hours annually, but China produces now, it's almost 11,000 terawatt hours annually.
China outproduces the U.S. by more than a factor of double.
So China can build data centers left and right, everywhere.
China's got cheap energy from Russia with a new pipeline going in.
China's got massive hydropower, massive solar power.
China produces more solar energy than any country in the world, including freaking Germany.
You know, China's leading the world in almost everything that's technology, including rare earth minerals.
China's got the mines, China's got the extraction methods, China's got the robots, the drones, the solar manufacturing, and they're even working on UV lithography microchip manufacturing technology that will rival the two-nanometer or three-nanometer methods currently used by Taiwan semiconductors.
So, Trump is oblivious to all of this.
He doesn't know that China is already going to win this.
America is already behind so far that it can't catch up.
You got to have power, and we don't have it.
So, things are going to get very interesting.
That's for sure.
In terms of AI, if you want to use my AI projects, they're all free.
Go to brightlearn.ai or brightanswers.ai, which is our deep research engine.
And what else do we have?
Oh, yeah, brightnews.ai, which is our rebranded sensor.news engine.
So, check it all out.
I'm Mike Adams, the Health Ranger.
Thank you for listening and get ready.
I will also bring you testing results and lots of new information about DeepSeek version 4 once it's released.
And I expect that we will end up using that engine, assuming the test results show its capabilities to be superior.
We will use it if it's the best engine out there because it's open source.
And oh, and by the way, people who say, Oh, don't use DeepSeek, it's gonna report all your information to China.
I don't have time for morons who don't understand how technology works.
That's just a scare story that's put out there by the U.S. and the CIA.
It's not even possible.
If you download DeepSeek and you run it on your own hardware and you use it for inference, it is literally impossible for it to report everything to China.
It doesn't even work that way.
It's an LLM, it doesn't even have the capability to report anything to China.
People who say that are just morons, they literally don't know what they're talking about.
I don't, I don't, you know, what do you even say to people who don't know anything about technology, but yet who are claiming all these horrible things?
So, you know, it's wild.
But I'll keep you posted.
