All right, folks, you're in for a real treat today.
This is Mike Adams, prepwithmike.com.
And what are you looking at here?
Well, this is the stuff that people have been asking me about.
They keep asking me, like, what do I use for body armor?
What do I use for a folding AR pistol?
What do I use for ammunition or a pistol or a rangefinder, backup communications, everyday carry?
Which knives, which blades, which everything?
There's even a seed pack there from ARK. So I thought I'd just go through it real quick here, as quick as we can, and kind of show you what I use and what I do not use.
Now, as a disclaimer, some of the companies in here are sponsors, occasionally, like Dawson Knives, that makes these knives, although they are not a sponsor of this particular video.
In fact, nobody even knew I was making this.
Other companies are not sponsors, And some companies may not even want to be in this video.
Who knows?
I have no idea.
But I'm just here recommending what works, and I'm not claiming that any of these companies endorse everything that I talk about.
Rather, I'm endorsing the usability and utility of their products.
Like this one, Woolwax, which is made from lanolin, from sheep's wool.
I use this all the time on the ranch, and you may have never even heard of it.
They probably never heard of us, but I gotta tell you, that is an essential item for survival and preparedness.
So, first, a disclaimer.
I'll tell you that everything in this video is legal, and I always encourage you to follow your local laws.
Now, some of this stuff may not be legal where you live, or it may not be legal for you if you have a felony record or something.
I don't know.
But everything here is legal.
Everything I've acquired legally, Everything is useful for survival and also for preventing violence.
You know, stopping crazed mass shooters who are shooting up children's schools, even in Texas, like the Uvalde situation.
That was a nightmare.
And if more people had this gear, the right people, such as maybe school security guards and so on, then we could have stopped a lot of that killing.
Or even if parents had been able to go in and stop the mad shooter, maybe we could have saved some lives.
So let's start over here with some everyday carry items.
I just want to tell you, I still carry a Leatherman tool right here.
It is just super handy.
This one folds out and it's got a screwdriver tip that you can change that out.
It's got a little pair of pliers in it and it's got a knife blade and frankly this has been just perfect for many many years.
And every once in a while I lose one of these, I just buy another one.
This is the Leatherman Skeletool.
So that's my choice.
And in terms of an everyday carry knife, I really like the Emerson knife because of how it opens.
It's got this wave.
This is a patented Emerson wave.
And there's a special way that this opens as it's coming out of your pocket when you have The clip holder on the correct side which I do but it comes on this side and you have to switch it over to this side.
Once you switch it you've got something that's very handy.
Now this is not an everyday carry but it is just like a really nice folder combat knife and I like it because it's extremely sturdy.
Look at the of how it's built, and the locking mechanism is back here.
So you press this, there's the lock, okay?
This is a stratofighter, as it's called.
Dark operations no longer available, which I'm really saddened about, and it's got a little window crusher on the end there.
I wish they made more of these, or I wish somebody made them, because they're quite good.
But if you're looking for good quality knives that are made in America, right here, this is from Dawson Knives, and this is the Magna Cut Alloy, which is a miraculous corrosion-resistant alloy that is just so far ahead of everything else out there.
And this knife, I love the balance.
It's very easy to handle.
You can go reverse grip.
You can go forward grip.
It's got the thumb push area on it right here that I really like.
And the finger guard, and it's got a little crusher on the end as well.
This is just a fantastic knife, and look at the kind of copper-stained finish they have on it.
Just amazing.
They also make these katana blades, which are just remarkable.
And the balance on this is just fantastic.
This is one of their most expensive and difficult to make blades.
And this is also in CPM MagnaCut.
You can see upside down.
It says it right there.
DawsonKnives.com is the website if you want very well-made, American-made knives.
There's their logo Dawson Knives right there.
And they've got small ones like this, kind of more polite looking knives.
And then they've got, you know, more aggressive type of survival or combat knives and different kinds of blades and machetes and things like that.
So they are a great company.
American made.
They're in Arizona.
Just fantastic.
Now, in terms of a flashlight, I've gone with Phoenix.
And Phoenix, I believe Phoenix is out of Taiwan.
And I've tried so many different flashlights, but I've come to really like Phoenix.
The quality is very good.
And whenever I buy a light, I make sure that they use these 18650 batteries.
Now, this one is Nightcore.
Nightcore's flashlights are not as good as Phoenix flashlights, in my opinion.
And if you own them both, you'll find out why.
But Nightcore makes very good batteries.
And these are the only three companies that make batteries, and I've tested many, many brands.
But the 18650 batteries, these are the only three companies I trust.
Streamlight, Phoenix, and Nightcore.
And that's it.
I'm going to say, well, why do I care about these batteries?
What's so special about these batteries?
Well, you've got to remember that even when you buy a little head-worn lamp or headlamp, you want it to use the 18650 battery, as that says.
And then in addition, here's a thermal scope right here, which is the Halo XRF thermal scope for spotting and also for shooting.
It's got reticles in it.
It's from InVision Optics.
And guess what's in here?
Two 18650 batteries.
So whereas a lot of companies that make these kinds of high-end optics, they have their own special batteries that you can't find or that are out of stock or very difficult to get, This company, Envision, allows you to use off-the-shelf batteries that you can also use for other things, such as certain radios and also flashlights and things like that.
So always try to standardize your gear, if you can, on the 18650 batteries, and you're going to be really happy about that.
Oh, if you're wondering what this is, by the way.
This is actually something I invented.
This is the first aid colloidal silver gel.
There comes some.
And this has seven essential oils in it.
And I don't have it.
This is not the standard packaging.
I just have my own supply here.
I put it in tubes like this to take with me.
But this is available at healthrangerstore.com.
And it's made with Texas rainwater and colloidal silver using the silver generator system that I developed.
We had custom engineered.
And then seven different essential oils and xanthan gum as a thickener and it forms kind of a natural bandage on anything.
So if you're attacked by the zombies and you need some first aid, this is something good to have.
Now, let's talk about comms here for a second.
So, this is the Baofeng UV-5R radio.
Everybody should own at least one of these as a starting point for radios.
And UV-5R, that's just, they're real inexpensive.
They're kind of tricky to use, so you might have to get a manual or buy a little, you know, book about how to use it.
But they do work great.
And they're just pretty rugged, pretty reliable.
In terms of other backup communications, this is called the bivy stick.
This is a satellite communicator.
It talks through the satellites to send and receive text messages.
And you can send and receive text to other sat phones, other bivy sticks, or other people's regular cell phones.
And this is offered by SAT123.com, that's the Satellite Phone Store, which is a sponsor of our podcast, although the manufacturer of this, ACR, they're not officially a sponsor, but one of their retailers is a sponsor.
This is a great device, life-saving, for backup communications, emergency rescue, and what happens when the power grid goes down?
How are you going to communicate with people?
Well, this solves that problem.
Now, in terms of communication also, if you're wondering what you can bring with you when you travel, this is called a mini smart router.
It's called the Mango.
It's from GL Inet.
This is fantastic because built into it is the ability to use a VPN. So you can configure it to use a VPN so that when you're traveling, you go to a hotel room, let's say, and you're using the internet there, You'll have Wi-Fi that's broadcast by this device.
You can connect to that Wi-Fi, and then all your traffic is routed through another city or another country.
And, of course, you'll have to pay for that VPN. A lot of VPN services out there.
This supports almost all of the major VPN services.
And this is pretty inexpensive.
And I've found that they're really useful, just surprisingly amazing.
And here's the instructions.
Boom, that's it.
Easy to set up.
They're not kidding.
It is actually very easy to set up.
So check that out.
So that's satellite messaging, radios, flashlights.
Oh, you're going to need a ballistic rangefinder.
At some point in the zombie apocalypse, and I want to tell you that SIG and their SIG Kilo line, this is the Kilo 2400 BDX, this has ballistics computing built into it.
So you load your cartridges into the system.
I mean, you can just select them or you can use the app and you can sync it up.
And then, based on the distance of the target, this will give you a firing solution.
Either in mils, which is what I prefer, or some people use MOA. But this is a handy little device, and these have come down in price significantly.
Very useful.
And while we're at it, Garmin here makes the Fortrex 701.
Oops.
This is the wrist-mounted unit, and this has a ballistic computer in it as well.
And you can feed in all your rifle cartridge ballistics and properties and so on.
And it'll give you a firing solution.
So you're going to put in You know, the bullet mass and the velocity out of the barrel and everything else.
It gives you a firing solution based on the distance.
And devices like this can synchronize with the Garmin.
So together, they give you the ability to engage in range-finding and get a firing solution.
And again, that can be life-saving.
Now moving into food, this company, which is occasionally a sponsor, ARC, Agricultural Resource Kits.
Heirloom seeds, all in one kit.
I think it's arcseedkits.com, but we'll put it on screen for you.
I may not have that URL correct, but this is a seed kit packed in basically a PVC container.
For durability and medium-term storage, and it's a really great seed kit.
You're going to need seeds, not just for barter, but also, of course, to grow food because of where things are going.
And don't forget, my friend Marjorie, her website, icangrowfood.com, also gives you the know-how of how to grow food.
Oh, and also over here, I've got some silver coins.
These are...
What are these?
Queen...
All hail the Queen Elizabeth.
Yeah.
Hey, Queen, this is America.
We don't bow down to Queens anymore.
But these are still good to have.
These are one ounce silver coins.
And you're going to need some in your kit.
You're going to need some in your bug out bag.
You never know when the financial system goes down.
You're going to need to have a means of payment.
And barter, and this is a really great system.
A couple other things.
Here's a really great solar panel that comes with the bivy stick when you get it from SAT123. I like this solar panel.
It's from Goal Zero.
I don't think Goal Zero is into guns and survival and all that stuff.
I think they're just about Earth-friendly, being green and everything, you know, like zero carbon.
But they have a nice kickstand on the back here.
And it's a real durable solar panel.
It's called the Nomad 5.
This is only 5 watts, but it's plenty to charge up small devices like mobile phones or even the bivvy stick over here.
I think it's a real great solar panel.
Works great for me.
The only thing better would be a flexible panel, which is usually more expensive.
We're going to get into the firearms here in a second, but let me mention wool wax.
This stops corrosion.
And this is a spray that contains truly only lanolin and I think a thickener.
So it's non-toxic.
There's no solvents.
There's no CFCs.
It's not hazardous.
If you get it on your skin, it's still fine.
But it's pressurized with an aerosol agent in here.
That's all.
But this stuff works.
You spray this on...
Tools or the underside of your truck or your vehicle or your tractor or, you know, a shovel that you want to protect or whatever.
It absolutely works because lanolin does the trick.
Now, if you want pure lanolin, which is kind of like a paste, you can get it from now.
And this is what they sell, pure lanolin right here.
This is a fantastic prepper item.
I strongly recommend everybody get some because it's also, it's kind of a skin protector and at the same time, it's anti-corrosion.
Okay, now in terms of firearms, since we're getting into that, I just want to show you that this is the SIG P320. This is actually the one I'm carrying, so I'm going to put it back on the holster.
But I just want to show you that this is a really nice, well-balanced SIG Sauer 9mm firearm.
And, you know, of course, it's all loaded and everything.
It's all 9mm.
And I upgraded the sights here.
You can see the sights.
It's a combination of optics and then some tritium as well.
And there's the front sight with a little orange dot there.
And I think that's the true, what is that, true glow, I think, that makes those.
Anyway, this is a really great carry.
I love the ergonomics of it.
I love the accuracy of it.
I'm going to go ahead and put that back where it belongs.
Now this is the Shield Arms folding AR. This is a pistol configuration with an arm brace.
And I've done another video about this.
What's great is you can just pop it into place and you're up and running, ready to go.
You know, ready to fire.
Okay?
And then if you want to fold it back, it's very easy.
Back in place.
So it's real compact.
It comes with a dead air adapter for suppressors as standard.
It's got an adjustable gas block in here and it's got real nice flip up sights.
So shieldarms.com is the website for that.
This is my favorite folding AR pistol because also the arm brace is adjustable In length, and I like to run them a little bit shorter, actually, because I like these firearms up close and tight.
The safety is ambidextrous.
Let me just cycle that so you can see there.
That's the normal position, ready to fire position.
The bolt carrier group paddle is oversized, and in addition, it comes with an ambidextrous charging handle, as you can see here.
You can use either side.
So it's pretty cool.
Very, very portable.
This is my favorite folding AR-style pistol.
And again, shieldarms.com is where you get that.
I have put, you can probably, let me see if I can line this up so you can see it.
Hold on a second.
There.
You see that green dot?
I like the green dots, and this is the Holosun AEMS. And I want to show you what that is right here.
These are a little bit hard to get, but they're well worth it.
They are enclosed.
Green dot sight, auto, shake awake, the whole deal.
I'm really liking Holosun, even though my understanding is that Holosun is made in China.
I'm normally not a huge fan of stuff that's made in China, you know, for quality reasons.
But I've got to say, Holosun has really shown that it is...
Well, it's really an outstanding brand with great quality, so I recommend it.
Alright, people ask me about bullets.
There are two brands of bullets that I recommend for self-defense.
Barnes, Vorti X, and here's what some of the tips look like.
See the ballistic tips and then a copper bullet, and it has a lot of special characteristics.
Also, Barnes has very, very high accuracy, and they've got ammo.
This happens to be, I think,.300 Winchester.
Yeah, 168 grain TTSX BT. That's the boat tail.
This is an outstanding round.
And then in addition, my other favorite ammo company is Berger Ammunition, and this is the.338 Lapua Magnum.300 grain.
Here's a heavy round for you.
Elite Hunter.
Let me show you what those look like.
because Berger is a really great company if you can afford Berger rounds you just can't go wrong they are extremely tight on their tolerances for construction of the rounds and these are expanding you can kind of see the hollow tip there yeah it takes a pretty big rifle to handle one of these but you know we'll talk about rifles later like long-range rifles Because I'm a big fan of long-range rifles.
But there you go.
If you're looking for self-defense ammunition, you can't go wrong with Barnes and also Berger.
Right now, they're very limited, you know, hard to buy in any kind of quantity.
So you're just going to have to buy a little bit at a time.
And yeah, they're going to be very, very expensive.
But as far as I'm concerned, you know, the lifetime value of this stuff, it's probably as good as storing gold, you know.
Because people are going to need this stuff.
Now, what do you do when the zombie wave attacks and you need some self-defense?
This company, I've just discovered them in the last couple of months.
American-made body armor that is incredibly light.
I mean, look at this.
This is a level 3A +, and actually a little bit beyond.
The company that makes this is called Hoplite Armor.
H-O-P-L-I-T-E. HopliteArmor.com.
And...
I'm just so blown away.
I mean, look at the double curve on this.
So it's curved on two axes, by the way.
And I interviewed Lyman Bishop, who is the founder of this.
Yeah, I think I've got his name right.
He's an engineer, mechanical engineer, knows all kinds of stuff about body armor and stopping bullets.
They've got a real nice plate carrier here.
They've got some different...
This is so light.
I mean, it feels like styrofoam, almost.
Crazy.
They've got shoulder protectors here.
Because, you know, some people, well, they get shot through the shoulder from the side.
And so this protects you from that.
And I believe this is still legal to purchase, but not in New York.
I think New York banned body armor because I think that grocery store shooter there had some body armor.
He somehow acquired, even though it's actually quite expensive to get good body armor.
But check your local laws as always.
Remember, everything I show you here is completely legal and also ethical.
So I only recommend things that are moral and ethical, and I always recommend that you use these tools in the defense of innocent life.
And, in fact, a lot of my audience are law enforcement or former military, and they know exactly what we're talking about here.
If you want to stop violence, you've got to have the right tools, folks.
If you want to survive, you've got to have the right tools.
And these are the kinds of tools that I use personally.
You know, the right lights, the right thermal scope, you know, satellite communications, solar panels, blades.
A folding AR pistol, you know, corrosion resistance, body armor, bullets, even a mini router over here.
These are some of the tools.
Everyday carry, you know, ballistic solutions.
These are tools that can save your life.
And frankly, these are tools that can help local law enforcement.
So a lot of local law enforcement, they're very limited on their budgets, and they may not be able to afford, you know, a good rifle like this, or decent ballistics, or especially probably not this.
Which runs like $9,500 in this case for this thing right here.
So yeah, it is expensive for some of this.
So your local sheriff's department may not have any of this stuff.
And when the zombie wave comes, you might want to loan this to them.
Or you might want to use it as a volunteer with them.
Like, hey, I'll watch out.
I'll watch that perimeter for anybody coming through, and then I'll alert you on the radio here.
And then you guys, the sheriffs and the deputies, then you guys can decide what to do.
But while you're doing that, you better, you know, have maybe a backup pistol with you or something just in case you get attacked.
So, you know, all of this has a proper use in a law-abiding society.
A society that is civil.
A society where, you know, criminals are caught and indicted instead of being set free all the time, which is what seems to be happening these days.
So all of these tools, again...
They are ethical, they are moral, they are legal in most areas, but always check your laws.
Because I do know in some jurisdictions, like that blade is too long to be legal, or in some jurisdictions you can't have a sword.
I mean, you might be living in the wrong place, by the way.
If you like freedom and you like gear like this, you know, well, pick a red state where you can have it.
Body armor, you know, just check your local laws, okay folks?
I don't want you to get in trouble.
For owning stuff that's not legal.
And personally, I'm always making sure that I'm working with local law enforcement and also ready to supply them when needed if things hit the fan.
So there you go, folks.
That's kind of an overview.
Of course, I've held a few things back that are kind of my own personal defense secrets.
Surprise!
This is not 100% of the stuff I use, but this is about 80%.
Oh, I see.
I got some...
I got some of that first aid goo on the thermal scope there.
That's okay.
I don't baby this stuff.
This is all hard use gear.
You know, I don't wipe everything down.
I don't clean everything all the time.
I mean, I'm here to use it.
When necessary, in defense of civility.
And so, you know, these aren't museum pieces.
I'm not here to put all this stuff on display.
I'm here to show you what works.
And this is the stuff that works.
So, thank you for watching.
You can watch more of my videos at prepwithmike.com.
I'm Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, the founder of brighttown.com.
Also, once again, a disclaimer.
Everything here is legal.
Be sure to follow your own local laws.
Make sure that what you own and what you deploy is legal to use.
And I think, thanks to the Supreme Court, there's going to be a lot more stuff that's perfectly legal in a lot more places, too, like maybe regular capacity magazines.
So there's a lot of challenges going through the court system right now that are going to end up in front of the Supreme Court, and I think that's pretty cool.
Alright, thanks for watching.
Take care.
