Hello and welcome everybody.
This is Mike Adams, the health ranger for Natural News.
I have a very special guest today and someone whose life we're going to delve into a little bit to find out who he really is.
That's right, Jonathan Lansman joins us in the studio today.
Welcome, Jonathan, to the grilling...
The investigation of Jonathan.
That's right.
You see, here's the thing.
You're hosting the Natural News Talk Hour.
You've done dozens and dozens of shows.
You've got the Inner Circle System.
Lots of people subscribe to that.
But sometimes people ask me, who is this guy, really?
Who is he?
So what do they want to know?
Well, they want to know the same things I want to know.
Like, how did you get into natural health in the first place?
Right.
Well, exercise.
When I was younger, I was always into sports.
To make a long story short, I had difficulty physically training.
I was getting stitches in my side and all of this.
Stitches?
What do you mean?
You're getting injured?
Stitches, you know, like when you're running a lot, people understand that.
Like you get these little sharp pains in your gut as you're running.
Sort of like a metabolic thing, right?
But back then, I didn't know what it was.
So I actually talked to my mom, and my mom said, you know, there's a nutritionist that you could go and speak to.
And she was a very quiet-spoken nutritionist, but she really knew her stuff.
She said, you know, Jonathan, you've got to change the way you eat.
And I looked at her like, you know, arrogant, 20-something-year-old.
I said, yeah, right, to myself.
But she was right.
She told me the things to eat.
I went out training.
The very next day, did exactly what she said.
The stitches had gone away.
Just by simple changes to the way I ate.
I got really turned on to it, went back to see her.
She turned me on to some things in macrobiotics and eating a little differently.
And back then I was, you know, really big into science and studying and all of that.
And so, you know, I said, this is really interesting.
How could I learn more about this?
And so she sent me off to the Cushy Institute and I said, you know, this would be really good because I was studying physical education in college.
I had gone on to do a master's study in exercise physiology.
I said, you know, this nutrition thing, maybe this is going to have some sort of connection with all the clients and all the people I'm going to help.
And, you know, long story short, here I am today doing more on the internet than actually one-on-one and personal training and helping people in health clubs and all of that.
It's been a good journey.
But you spent many years then following the macrobiotic philosophy and eating that diet and that whole mindset.
What was that like?
Oh yeah, it was really interesting.
I mean, certainly there's some things you can do extreme.
I certainly did that, just like anybody else.
You know, you kind of get into something and it's like a little too much.
You learn how to balance it out.
But it was a very interesting experience because the bottom line about macrobiotics was it was teaching people about the energetics of food.
And how food does influence your health in many different ways.
So I appreciate it for that.
And I also appreciate it for its healing power.
Because when I would assist in the counseling, the macrobiotic offices, people would come in with all kinds of problems, in particular cancer.
And these are horrific cases, Mike.
I mean, people, conventional treatments, they've had all the tests and the surgeries and the drugs.
And it was sort of like they were attracted to macrobiotics as a last-ditch effort to help themselves.
And even in those worst-case scenarios, when they came in for counseling, made some adjustments with their eating, Even some of those stage four cancer patients that died actually heard from the family members how much they appreciated the change in their food because the person who passed away actually was more comfortable in those many weeks and months before they died.
So even in those worst cases, I saw how precious food was for them.
And of course, great stories of success.
People reversing cancer, diabetes, hypertension was nothing.
You go to a plant-based diet, which is really what it was all about, the person felt much better.
So you've seen real world miracles.
Oh yeah, like every single day.
That was a massive experience.
And again, much appreciated.
You know, it's my own personal thing to take it real extreme and try to find a better balance of the way it would be good for me to eat.
But what I really learned, I was bombarded with all kinds of experiences through macrobiotics, studying in Beckett, Massachusetts, you know, in the woods there, real natural training, and also going down to Florida and going to their Macrobiotic Foundation down there.
You know, I've met a lot of people through that and really grew to appreciate how powerful food really is in healing.
Yeah, I would say so.
I mean, you're in a unique position, and you go out and you travel and you meet and interview a lot of really incredible healers, doctors, people running clinics who are treating cancer patients successfully, I might add, and you're doing that for your special events, the videos that are in the Inner Circle, the talk hour and so on.
Can you talk about who are some of the most amazing people that you've met as practitioners and experts, and what are some of the gems that they taught you that That you've been able to gather in your journey here.
Yeah, sure.
That's probably one of the easiest questions to answer.
First of all, as far as all the natural health experts go, all of them are amazing.
The ones that tend to be a part of the Natural News Inner Circle, the people who I was most interested in, are the ones that were the most passionate about what they're into.
Like people like Charlotte Gerson.
It's a no-brainer.
Passionate her whole life about it.
Dr. Lea Aaron-Keneally, who's taking care of her own personal health issues and now has an 18,000 square foot medical center with doctors and nurses and certified nutritionists, all kinds of stuff going on.
These people, it's their life, heart and soul into all of their material.
So each one of them are really, truly amazing.
I've learned from every one of those experts.
But to answer your final question about what it was that I learned, mostly from all of them, this central idea that plant-based nutrition is very powerful.
If you want to eat animal food, you know, cleaner sources, grass-fed, we understand that.
Cage-free animals, you know, for the eggs, all of this kind of stuff.
But that nutrition is very important to be healthy.
You must look at that first.
And to detoxify, very important as well.
Right.
So the issue being, you could eat really healthy and still be frustrated with your health problems, but you have to detoxify.
And if you don't deal with those issues, then even healthy eating for a while could end up being very frustrating.
So detoxification is very important.
Yeah, and you've been able to help a lot of people learn those principles, which is really amazing.
Do you have, how do you, I mean, you must have people come up to you now at events or maybe sometimes in the health food stores and say, oh, you're Jonathan Landsman.
I hear your talk hours.
I see your events, your videos, you know.
Do they tell stories about how that information has impacted their lives?
Yeah, I mean, we have some people who'd rather not be mentioned, but yeah, absolutely all of them across the board are really happy that they were waking up because of the information on naturalnews.com, that they read in articles.
But with Natural News Inner Circle, they get a much closer look at all these experts, and we dive really deeply into what they've found that really helps all of the people that they work with, all of their patients.
We have a lot of medical doctors that talk in the Inner Circle about their experiences.
So they've learned a lot, and how they woke up, they really appreciate it.
So, where are you going next?
I don't mean geographically.
What's your goal with this information and the Inner Circle and the Natural News Talk Hour?
I haven't even asked you this.
We haven't had this conversation off camera or anything.
I'm curious too.
What's in your mind?
Well, right now it's very simple.
There's just so much more that we're getting from the Inner Circle subscribers.
We're getting so many ideas every single day as to more that's needed, you know, more detail.
And we want to serve the subscribers.
So the ideas are coming from them and also from us as well.
We just want to keep layering in more information on audio and video.
And what I really see, thanks to the technology, everything that's going on, it makes it much easier for people to actually be in touch with these experts to do more live events.
You know, the technology is allowing us to have those people chat with those experts, to have answers to their questions, their pressing concerns right in real time, to ask those questions and have the experts answer, and to really be a great living, breathing service.
to those subscribers day to day I mean that's my single goal right now is just to keep adding more and more content that answers everybody's concern within the inner circle and just keep pushing that out and have people take that information and as I'm hearing already now it's only started last few months and share that information with people who may not be so fortunate they can't afford the subscription not that it's a lot of money but that they share that with their family and friends and I hear those stories coming back I might That is electric.
When people take that information, they're giving it to someone else, and then they're writing us and saying how much they appreciate it.
You know, that just makes my day.
Yeah.
I guess it would.
Off the wall question.
How do you like Austin, Texas?
That's where we're filming right now, by the way.
Yeah, you know, it's great.
I've been used to city living.
Urban living is really nice, but all the land out here, the people are so nice, too.
I mean, a lot of my East Coast experiences around the New York area, you know, it's amazing.
And I know a lot of people can understand this.
You can have 8 million people in Manhattan.
And have so many of those people feel alone.
You know, no one to speak to.
Right.
You come out to a place like this and everybody's saying, good morning, how y'all doing?
And, you know, you think it's a joke at first when you're on the East Coast.
Like, is this for real?
And it's just a normal way that people are.
It's a camera.
How y'all doing?
It's a trick question.
Are they trying to set me up because I'm from New York or something?
But not at all.
It's not like that at all.
It's just really great, warm-hearted people who don't know each other by name, but they say hello to each other.
It's a nice feeling because ultimately I think what...
Everybody in this circle of people that you and I know, the natural health world, we know how powerful it is to be a part of a community that we feel is not like-minded, like everybody is exactly the same, but that we all respect each other as human beings and we care for each other.
And from that base, a lot of great things can happen.
Absolutely.
And I definitely feel that around here.
It's great.
Well, we feel that about you as well, Jonathan, and the work that you're doing with the Inner Circle.
