All right, welcome everybody.
It's 2012, and this is a year that a lot of people have associated with some rather interesting prophecies, not all of them being positive, of course.
But I consider myself an optimist, and I'm joined today in the studio by Jonathan Lansman, the host of the Natural News Inner Circle group and subscription, which has great content on it.
He's also an optimist for 2012.
We're going to talk today about why we're both optimistic about 2012, even when we both agree that there's a lot of things that are going to be crumbling or changing during the next year.
So, Jonathan, welcome to the show.
Thanks for joining me today.
Thanks, Mike.
It's a pleasure to be here.
Yeah, it's good to have you.
Why are you an optimist in 2012?
You know, I think the biggest thing is because I hear this a lot.
People say, oh, there's all this negativity.
How can you be happy about all this?
I think the biggest message is that the more these things seem to be unraveling is the more that people are waking up that all of those things are broken.
And I mean in people's personal endeavors, when they go into jobs, the politics, government things, all of this stuff going on is just, it's a mess.
And more and more people are realizing there has to be a better way of living.
And I think overall that's a great thing for all of us.
Maybe not for the people that are trying to control everything, but for us, I think it's terrific.
So is it sort of like the systems that are broken need to come down so that they can be reformed or replaced with something that works better?
Is that where you're coming from?
Perhaps.
Perhaps.
I'm not sure about that.
I'm still open to them possibly needing to change.
You know, for example, if people are disgruntled with conventional medicine, for example, And I think for the most part, say a doctor that somebody goes to who has two or three thousand patients, but they weren't educated the best and they're not satisfying the patient base as well as they should.
Most of those people are looking for something better now.
Pharmaceuticals are not working for them.
They're suffering with ailments.
They're getting sicker and sicker and they want another way.
Perhaps it's not a question of that doctor going away and going into poverty, but perhaps that medical practice will go through a change because they'll be motivated to do something or else they will lose their medical practice.
So I don't know how much it's got to be they just all collapse and something new has to take place.
But I think there's definitely a transformation.
Maybe it's the same people.
Maybe the old belief system is what's collapsing.
For example, that same doctor might go and learn about nutrition and holistic healing or other healing arts and might transition because that's what people are demanding.
One of the trends that I see in 2012 is that people are really, they're voicing how they're fed up with systems that don't work.
We know that the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, for example, that's a system of debt creation that doesn't work.
It's broken, and it's going to hurt a lot of people economically.
We know that pharmaceutical medicine doesn't really work.
We know that vaccines don't work.
We know that top-down government control over every little detail of our lives doesn't work.
We know that freedom does work, that liberty does work, that free will and democracy does work when it's allowed to actually take place in a free society and not a controlled society.
So would you agree that there's a trend now of people moving towards wanting to see the things that really do work and just getting tired and fed up with things that are broken?
Yeah, 100%.
I think as I'm listening to you talk, a lot of people would hear that and say, wow, you're so brave for saying what you're saying.
Really?
Right.
But the reality is I think that a lot of people feel exactly the way you do and what you just expressed.
But in years past, people were more afraid to talk about it.
And now it's happening, especially thanks to the internet and watching videos and going to conventions, conferences, all these different things, and meeting people, which I think is essential.
I think that communities need to come together more.
I think people need to be less afraid to talk to each other about the things that really matter.
As soon as they start doing that more and more, which I really feel is accelerating, They notice that they're not alone, that there are so many more people that believe this way, and together, that's what's making it more powerful.
That's what's creating this change that we're seeing so much in society today.
Well, the other thing that I see that I think is really important is that as things get worse, it actually awakens more people to the reaction of things getting better.
A great example of this is back in the 1700s, the colonials in America, as they were becoming increasingly oppressed by the King, the King of England, and the Stamp Act.
The Tax Stamp Act was passed.
And that was the last straw that led to revolution.
And it was like things have to get bad enough before it triggers a critical mass of reaction where people demand their liberty.
And right now what I see in the Western world and especially in America is a population that is very much asleep.
That is in a comfort zone.
Things are going along.
They don't care if they give away their liberties and rights as long as they still have their cable television and their microwave dinners and what have you.
But as things do get bad, that will awaken people to stand up and say, wait a minute.
It's bad enough that it's worth standing up to make something better, and then we can have, hopefully, a peaceful revolution into a better, brighter future.
Well, I think that's what's also essential about what we're doing here today, is talking about alternatives, talking about solutions, because the reality is we don't have to wait for anything to happen, Mike.
It's all there for people.
Let's say somebody has a personal health issue.
Thank God there still is so many easy ways for people to correct so many problems that they have today.
Whether it's diabetes, high blood pressure, you can take care of high blood pressure naturally, completely naturally in three days or less.
You take that blood pressure and it was high one day, a few days later it's down.
Diabetes, literally, you and I both know so many medical doctors, medical doctors, Taking care of diabetes in days, what people have suffered with for years.
The solutions are there, people can grab them, and then they don't have to become dependent on all of these systems that aren't changing fast enough, and all of that frustration that's within them could simply just go away.
That's also a great example of why it takes things getting bad before people are willing to really be part of a revolution.
You know, we've seen this, both of us, in giving speeches and talking to people.
Most people today discover natural medicine and nutritional cures only after they're about to die from cancer or they have diabetes or they have heart disease and they're facing surgery and looking for alternatives.
It's not very many people.
Who are able to understand the wisdom of nutritional cures and preventive medicine before they have a crisis.
And myself included.
I didn't get into healthy living until I was really, really unhealthy.
So on a society level, as the society becomes very unhealthy politically, financially, economically, debt, you know, culturally and so on, that becomes the crisis that opens people's eyes to more solutions in the future.
Yeah, I see something really nice happening.
When you go to the natural health food stores, you go to communities, and you see those people who are taking a proactive approach, they're the ones that are actually helping those people you just described.
Yeah.
So there are those people who are, say, quote-unquote, clueless.
Don't know what to do, and they go into a store looking for maybe a better way of eating, and then they run into someone behind the deli counter who's really ready to help.
I see that as the real way that people are creating change in their lives for the better, first improving their physical health, then they're mentally feeling better, emotionally feeling better.
Now they have the strength and the energy to start really realizing their own individual potential, and that's where all this exciting change is happening.
That's why I stay so optimistic today, Mike.
Yeah, I'm definitely very optimistic about 2012 and beyond.
I mean, even in the realms of financial and political, I think, you know, if we get another president into the White House that's just the same as what we've seen for the past many presidents, the status quo, more wars, more taking away civil liberties and rights and freedoms, you know, eventually it's going to get to a point where people say, that's not working.
It doesn't matter if you elect a Democrat, a Republican, a white man, a black man, a brown person.
It doesn't matter.
If they have that philosophy of big government and taking away freedoms and putting us into more debt and starting more wars, that system doesn't work.
So it's time, really, to think about what can work, what's going to be better.
And that's true in every area.
I think it's true in finance, it's in debt, in even cultural belief systems, about consciousness that we talked about in another segment.
That we must honor the sacredness of life on our planet and ecosystems and protecting the environment in real ways that matter, like not releasing GMOs into the world.
And as we do that, we're going to have a better, brighter future.
Someone out there watching might accuse both of us of saying, well, no, 2012 is going to be really bad and dark.
How dare you have a silver lining?
I think we have a golden lining to it.
It could really be the turning point.
Yeah, I agree.
