Hey, it's great to be back on the show.
I've been in my lab cave for several months working on some research, but yeah, I came out for air and I almost froze my lips off because it's so cold.
I don't know what's going on.
Yes, of course.
Global warming.
Global warming, as we know.
Global warming.
Global cooling.
Don't put your tongue on those flagpoles or anything like that when you come out.
But you have, and I know you and I have talked off the air some over the course of the last months while you're working on this new You've thrown some things out at Natural News to give some insight into some things that are coming, but today is the day, and over the next few days, as these new videos you're releasing are going to reveal some extraordinary things that are making the news, not breaking, but making the news here in 2014.
Absolutely, and we're going to cover some of those here in the conversation with you.
Actually, you are my first and exclusive radio interview for these announcements, so thanks for having me on.
We've got a video posted right now at labs.naturalnews.com, and we've got another video coming tomorrow and another the next day, and these three videos are like mini-documentaries, and they really explain these breakthrough food science concepts that I developed here over the past Several months, working through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and Thanksgiving and Halloween.
I mean, I haven't taken an hour off for months, but we made it.
The announcements are here, and so if you'd like, I'll go ahead and sort of reveal what this is all about.
Yeah, this is the big day.
We've been talking about the 7th of January 2014 would be the day Mike comes out of the hole there and lets us all know what's going to be happening.
Very exciting.
Right aligned with the mission here on the Robert Scott Bell Show of bringing the power to heal back to the people, back to you.
And that, of course, nutritionally, we'll talk detoxification, etc.
But the experiments you've been running, the equipment you have access to now, the lab you've set up, you're making discoveries based on some things you were thinking and you've proven them right.
And even more exciting things as to what to do about it.
So now is that reveal time.
Okay, here we go.
I'll compact this as much as possible.

But here's the short version.
You know, I had been writing a lot about current events and politics and liberty and things like that for many, many years, really active in that realm, health freedom, food freedom.
As I was doing this, I came to realize more and more that I was kind of beating my head against the wall, really trying to educate people about principles of liberty or principles of nutrition, principles of healthy eating.
There was just a lot of resistance, and I came to find that it's because...
We, as a population, we have been partially lobotomized or poisoned by toxic elements that are now contaminating our foods, our medicines, our water supply, our personal care products, our home products, and so on and so forth.
And the levels are worse than they've ever been in human history.
And I discovered this because I was buying products, raw materials, for our own supplements and our own superfoods to sell at the Natural News store, and I was finding that when we sent them out to labs, they had high levels of cadmium, high levels of lead.
So we rejected these batches, of course.
We didn't use anything that was contaminated.
A lot of raw materials were really contaminated, and the companies selling those raw materials didn't really seem to mind.
They just said, oh, it passes FDA, you know, but the FDA actually has no limits, and the USDA has no limits on certified organics.
So you can buy certified organic superfoods.
They can contain extremely toxic levels of lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, aluminum, copper, which is another heavy metal But also radioactive isotopes such as cesium-137 and uranium isotopes.
So I decided, this was earlier in 2013, I decided to actually launch our own laboratory.
We have been blessed with a lot of financial support from customers buying our products in our store.
So instead of pocketing that money as profit, we actually put that money, invested it into this lab.
And we built out an amazing laboratory, better than university level.
About a million dollars is what it took to do this.
And then over the following few months, I became Well-versed in high-level analytical chemistry and atomic spectroscopy analysis.
I hired trainers from all across the country to come in and get me up to speed on this.
I would study high-level chemistry while I was on the treadmill exercising.
I also radically cleaned up my own diet and began using supplements that greatly enhanced memory and cognitive capacity.
It really allowed me to be able to learn this.
It's a difficult subject, let me tell you, but I was able to learn it.
I began to then...
I got all the instrumentation online.
I got all the training validation going for the instrumentation.
I began to do a lot of intense research on toxic heavy metal composition in foods and superfoods, herbs, supplements, beverages, fast food, processed food, dog food, you know, you name it.
You should see this.
I have an entire library of food.
I mean, we almost had to build another building just to have...
Shelves full of these samples that are lined up for testing or have already been tested.
And we begin to find that these heavy metals are very, very common.
There's mercury in a lot of things.
A lot of the seafood is heavily contaminated.
A lot of seaweeds are contaminated, but I want to come back to that because there's a factor in seaweed that also protects you from some of these heavy metals.
We found that processed foods, junk foods, are really not contaminated because they contain almost nothing nutritive.
We found that the whole foods were more contaminated than the processed foods.
And this got me scratching my head, thinking, you know, why is there more lead in wheat flour than white flour?
You know what I mean?
Big question.
That got me thinking about this concept, well, if there's more lead in wheat flour or whole foods, you know, intact foods, does that lead really go into your body?
Does it get absorbed in your bloodstream or not?
So I then set out to develop a methodology using atomic spectroscopy and a synthetic gastric acid simulator with a synthetic digestion process methodology that I painstakingly developed.
And We were able to then digest these foods and analyze how much of the toxic heavy metals actually came out of the food during digestion and therefore would be absorbed by your blood plasma versus how much of the toxic heavy metal would be bound to the food or retained by the food and carried out through solid matter, fecal matter, in other words.
And once we began doing this research, it got very fascinating.
We found that whole foods were the best at retaining toxic elements.
Even though they contained them in their composition, they tended to not release them very much.
Whereas processed foods, even though they typically had low levels of contaminants, those were fully released or, as we say, a dissolution test.
They were dissolved and they were carried into the Blood plasma, according to our simulation test.
And these are chemical tests.
We didn't feed toxic metals to people.
It takes a government to do that kind of thing, but for us, we don't actually use human beings for medical experiments using toxic heavy metals.
I guess the NIH might do that if they want to study it further, because they have no ethics.
But we actually have medical ethics, so we don't use babies for experiments.
So, in any case, we began to document this and we developed this concept called the metals retention factor, which tells you that these whole foods actually hold on to the toxic metals.
So, this changes the whole equation about things like traditional Chinese medicine.
Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine are both infamous for containing high levels of lead.
And Proposition 65 in California has allowed groups of lawyers in California to really shake down a lot of nutritional supplement companies and extort them for huge sums of money because their products contain lead.
Well, it turns out most of that lead is not released.
For example, a typical Chinese medicine product that we tested, one called Jade Moon, It has about 4 parts per million lead, but it retains about 70%.
So you're actually only getting about 1.2 parts per million, which is a lot less than 4.
So this research, we decided to document this.
I'm working on scientific papers right now, which we will submit to science journals for publication later this year.
But we also decided to go public with this, and that's what's published right now at labs.naturalnews.com.

I just want to make sure, and there's even more to go, but one of the things that occurred to me is that we've all been very concerned about food quality issues for many years.
You've been writing about it on Natural News.
We've been reporting it here.
But to actually have the ability to go in and analyze this without having to rely on third parties that we may or may not be able to trust or may or may not be able to detect the things we're looking for, this is such a huge leap forward.
And then to take it to the level where you said not only is it it's not enough to just find out what's in the food, but let's see how it behaves once it goes into the gastrointestinal tract.
So we know that there's a pathway in or through or absorbed or not and then out.
And now we can develop strategies that can actually help us deal with the realities, not just the theories about what we think is happening.
So Mike, you're here.
You're creating something so extraordinary.
To say that I'm excited, I can't even get close to the word I want to say.
Well, there's more to this, so we'll keep going, but think about this.
Heavy metals are invisible to the human eye, so you're eating them all the time.
We haven't found anything that's completely free of heavy metals, but very low levels are fine.
What we're interested in is whether certain things have high levels or not, and then how much you absorb.
But you can't see heavy metals, so you don't know, and they're not labeled.
So this has a lot of parallels with GMO labeling.
Almost everyone who thinks about the issue agrees that GMOs should be labeled.
Why?
Because they're invisible, you can't see them, but you don't want to eat them because they're harmful.
Well, heavy metals fall into the same category.
Lead is harmful.
Calcium causes kidney damage.
Lead lowers your IQ. Mercury causes neurological disorders.
Arsenic can cause cancer.
Copper causes schizophrenia and insanity, and even personality changes, and so on and so forth.
Aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's disease.
People don't want to eat these, but you can't see them, and they're not labeled.
So what do you do?
Well, there's really nothing you do.
The FDA is not doing the testing.
The USDA is not doing the testing.
There's no university doing the testing.
Consumer reports occasionally will look at rice or something like that, but that's not their focus.
So we are now the source.
And if you go to labs.naturalnews.com, you can see we have about a dozen products up there today.
A bag of Doritos we tested, and some kelp granules that we tested, and some squid that we tested, dried squid, and a bunch of other things.

They're not as dangerous as you might have thought if you just looked at the composition.
That's what's changing here, and there's still more to this.

We use lot numbers on the pages, and we do triplicate testing as a minimum, plus all our external standards are traceable back to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST. We use EPA-approved methodologies.
Our equipment is calibrated, tested, validated, verified.
We use multiple blanks.
We use multiple mid-range calibration checks during testing.
I mean, this is not casual stuff.
I have become a high-level analytical chemist, expert in atomic spectroscopy over the last year, and I know what I'm doing with this, and the numbers we're getting are very accurate.

You know, teenagers don't care about anything, but I guess they care about freezing their tushies off, so they're pulling their pants up.

You sort of went into the retention issue before, but the metal's capturing capacity is fascinating.
Yes, this is where we have the biggest breakthroughs about how to...
How do you defend yourself against this onslaught of toxic elements that are in foods, including sometimes foods from China, which tend to be more polluted than other foods, and sometimes even organic foods from China?
So how do you defend yourself?
This is the metals capturing capacity.
So as we were doing the research, I began to ask the question, well, if these foods can retain A certain amount of lead or cadmium or arsenic or mercury, is it possible they could also attract and capture and bind with those toxic elements that are also in the same gastric acid liquid?
So, for example, in a very practical sense, if you eat a piece of tuna and it's polluted with mercury, is there something that you could eat with the tuna That would actually bind with the mercury and pull it out of your body.
Or in other words, your body pushes it out through fecal matter so that you don't absorb the mercury.
Well, it turns out the answer is yes.
Absolutely yes.
To date, I've tested over 500 foods, botanicals, herbs, different things, and it's going up to 1,000 here shortly.
And I've been able to document it.
Selective affinity for certain elements that are present in certain foods.
Now, the concept That certain herbs or foods combined with heavy metals is not necessarily a new concept in a vague sense.
For example, there's been a lot of talk over the years about cilantro, that cilantro combined with heavy metals.
But it's just been a very vague kind of claim and no one has really ever documented it.
How much?
Does it bind with all the heavy metals or just one or two?
Or how effective is it, you know?
It turns out, I did the test, cilantro is not that effective.
Not even close.
It's not even near the top of my list of what I found.
I found things that are way more effective.
Which include things like chlorella, by the way.
Way more effective than cilantro.
In fact, cilantro just wasn't impressive at all.
Kind of disappointed in cilantro.
I thought it would do better.
But grasses are very good at certain things.
There are For mercury, mercury is a sticky heavy metal.
It sticks to almost everything.
So it turns out, almost anything combined with mercury, if it's got some fiber in it, including a bag of Doritos, If you eat a bag of Doritos, and I'm not recommending Doritos because they're loaded with MSG and GMO corn, but if you were to eat a bag of Doritos at the same time that you ate a piece of tuna fish with mercury in it, the Doritos would actually absorb and bind with most of the mercury.
Imagine that.
Now, a better choice would be an apple.
Right, yes, exactly.
And that's the point of strategizing here is everybody, listen, kids especially, we have lots of kids, we're not saying to go out and eat a bag of Doritos for the reasons Mike just mentioned.
But the reality is you're going to acknowledge and reference the things that bind it up, get the information out there so we can make, as I said, fully informed decisions, not only about food choices, but should we choose foods that we feel...
The benefits may outweigh the risk.
We can minimize or eliminate the risk by utilizing substances you're finding that have a high MCC, as you said, metals capturing capacity.
Exactly.
And all of this research really strongly points in the direction that we should all move away from isolated mineral liquids or vitamin powders or isolated nutrients and move towards whole food-based supplements or superfoods like Boku superfoods or other types of whole food-based, you know, multi-food powders.
And because there's an interesting kind of intelligence or wisdom that we found in these foods, they will selectively release nutritive elements such as zinc, manganese, magnesium, and calcium, while at the same time selectively not releasing lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic at different levels.
So there's an intelligence in the whole food that I was actually very happy to find, but also a little surprised to find.
Because from a straight chemistry perspective, you wouldn't think that the food knows what to release, but it actually kind of does.
It's pretty amazing.
Well, and the thing is, what we want to do is also not bind up good things.
I mean, because there are things that will bind things indiscriminately to the point where you will, for instance, allopathic medicine chooses to block the production of acid, for instance, proton pump inhibiting drugs.
We understand the idea behind it, but it's a disastrous idea because it's implementing and creating deficiency.
So you're able to determine the binding of something that we don't want to absorb.
Well, that's exactly right, and we are going to do more research into the zinc-copper question.
Now, we should do a whole show on copper, because copper, I believe, is making people insane.
Too much copper causes you to go insane.
It's schizophrenia.
Most people in mental wards have high levels of copper.
Some have high aluminum, but it really causes you to go crazy.
People are getting way too much copper in foods that are contaminated, plus copper pipes and other sources, but they're also deficient in zinc.
Now, zinc and copper have a very similar kind of function in human metabolism, so if you're low in zinc, your body absorbs more copper, and then you become highly copper-toxic over time.
Now, vegetarians have this problem even more than meat-eaters, because meat tends to have a lot of zinc in it that actually blocks the copper.
I don't know if you've noticed this, but every once in a while, if you're in the vegan community, you come across somebody who's totally insane, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
I think we could all go, yeah, I think, why is that person that way?
They're eating a clean, healthy diet, or are they?
Is there too much copper?
The vegetarian diet, see, this is...
We're going to have to do a whole show on this someday, but the vegetarian diet is...
Imbalanced because of the industrial pollution of copper that's fallen on the soil and into the food now.
The vegetarian foods have too much copper, not enough zinc.
So if you want to be safe as a vegetarian or a vegan, you've got to supplement zinc as you're consuming a vegetarian diet.
That's what some of this research is really helping to support.
But I don't want to dwell on this issue.
We can talk about that more later.
Maybe we can get some first-hand experiences from callers on that later, but let's talk about radiation and radioactive isotopes.
Yes, big time, big time.
So what can we do to really bind out like cesium, other things that we know are increasing in the food supply?
Right now I'm in the process of nailing down a natural substance that has selective ionic affinity for cesium-137.
Cesium-137 is the most worrisome element Caused by fallout from nuclear catastrophes or nuclear war.
It's far more dangerous than iodine.
Iodine-131 being radioactive but a half-life of about seven days.
Cesium-137 has a half-life of 30 years, okay?
It persists in the soil for 200 to 300 years.
So what you really need to be safe from in the aftermath of Fukushima is cesium-137 getting into the soil, getting into the food, being taken up by your body because it mimics potassium.
So...
We are testing the cesium element using atomic spectroscopy.
We're documenting which foods naturally uptake the cesium element and also which foods will naturally bind to it as a defensive mechanism.
And this is something that we're really focused on because of the urgent nature of the Fukushima situation.
But so far we've found, here's an actual practical bit of advice, spirulina binds with about 89% of uranium.
So spirulina has high uranium affinity.
It makes sense because it was used in the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima in World War II. It used spirulina.
We tested miso because we thought, well, they used a lot of miso at that time.
Maybe miso binds with things, but miso did not do anything.
So miso failed our test, but spirulina was very highly effective.
also has some very interesting properties that I guess we can cover later.
But I haven't yet nailed down the perfect thing to bind with cesium-137, but when I do find it, it's going to be groundbreaking.
It could help save millions of lives from all future nuclear catastrophes because people could eat this substance or take it as a supplement, and it would bind with cesium in the digestive tract and take it out of their body through fecal matter, preventing them from absorbing cesium into blood, which would cause that cesium to be incorporated into cell membranes preventing them from absorbing cesium into blood, which would cause that cesium to be incorporated into cell So that's a short version of that.
This is what 2014 has in store.

The scientific validation for Whole Foods...
And I don't mean the chain of stores.
You know what I'm talking about.
The supplements that are in the food-based category, they are food.
They're not pretend.
They're not synthetic isolates.
It's sort of counterintuitive for those allopathic-minded natural people that say, we need high potency.
We need more of one little thing that'll do it.
When it really needs that synergy, it needs the everything.
And then you find that even in low concentration, you actually have more power and efficiency.
Yeah, it's very interesting.
Certainly, isolated nutrients have a place in therapeutic medicine.
For example, high dose vitamin C, intravenous vitamin C, or high dose vitamin D for people who are D-deficient and so on.
I'm not against that.
I'm just saying that in terms of day-to-day consumption, you have greater potential risk of contamination of your body from isolated substances if they are not from clean sources.
Let's say, suppose somebody's got a liquid mineral product, and there are a lot of liquid minerals out there, and I'm not harping on any particular brand, but some of them are cleaner than others.
So a liquid mineral has a metals retention factor of almost zero.
So if it contains, let's say, 0.5 parts per million lead, then you will absorb 0.5 parts per million lead.
What it means, essentially, is that for substances that are isolates or extracts or have no fiber, which includes pharmaceuticals, by the way, You have to be a lot more vigilant about making sure they are absolutely clean because you have no defenses in digestion.
Whereas a regular food, an apple, a whole apple, raw, fresh, I'm not talking about apple cider, I'm not talking about pasteurized apple sauce, I'm talking about a real apple.
If you handed me an apple and you said, hey, that apple has one part per million lead in it, would you eat it?
I would say, yes, I'll eat it.
Why?
Because I know I'm not going to absorb that lead based on this research.
The apple itself has a protective defense.
This is the shift that we all need to understand to be healthier.
Right, right.
No, then that's the breakthrough that's coming out.
Now, I will say as well as these, let's say, new revelations come out, you mentioned maybe next week the breakfast cereals will be explored.
We also are anticipating some supportive supplemental type products that will help us to be We have got to establish the ability to, as you said, bind those out before they become absorbed.
So I think that's going to be part of the revelations in this new year.
Yeah, this research will no doubt be used by many people, including myself, to work on formulas that can provide solutions to people that help protect them from toxic elements, especially expectant mothers or, let's say, moms who have autistic children and they want to make sure their children are safe from toxic elements, heavy metals in foods.
We need to work on some solutions for that.
That's one of my next projects, is to really take a closer look at that.
But even just what we're releasing right now, this is going to change the industry.
You will see nutritional product formulators begin to alter their formulations.
I've already had companies ask me if I can test their products for the MCC or the MRF. They want to know how their products perform.
There are companies that will probably be interested in doing R&D partnerships with us so that we can help them understand how their formulations are interacting with toxic elements.
So we'll just see where it goes.
But it's a very exciting time.
And I'm just super optimistic about the things that we can find and the solutions that we can provide for humanity.
