Welcome to Ask the Health Ranger.
You can submit your questions to askthehealthranger at naturalnews.com.
And the three questions I'm going to cover tonight are these.
Number one, you talk about a collapse coming soon in 2013, so why are you still living in Texas?
Do you recommend staying in America or leaving America?
I guess that's actually two questions.
Another reader asks, what is Alex Jones really like off camera?
Is he as angry off camera as he is on camera?
It's a funny question, but I'll give you the answer.
Number three, you look like you've gained some weight in the past year.
What is going on?
So, let's answer all these.
This is Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, the editor of naturalnews.com, and I will answer all these three questions to the best of my ability.
Number one, you talk about a collapse coming in 2013, so why are you still living in Texas?
And do you recommend staying in America or leaving America?
Alright, well, as many of you may know, I lived in Ecuador for about two years and was a resident of Ecuador and had an Ecuadorian driver's license and spoke pretty good Spanish.
And I've lived in other countries.
I've lived in Taiwan.
I've lived in Australia.
I've toured Europe and many areas of the world.
And I've met a lot of people who are even expats and say, you know, you got to get out of America.
You got to get to another country.
My experience and the lesson I learned is that if you are the foreigner wherever you go and the crap hits the fan, you could be in a very bad situation.
You do not want to be the outsider when society collapses because, as I learned, in South America the locals may not be so friendly if they think they can get something from you and take advantage of your situation.
So, if you are, let's say, a white person like I am, I would recommend you don't go anywhere that you don't fit in as another white person.
If you're a dark-skinned person, go somewhere where you fit in, where you blend in.
And I'm not calling for segregation or anything.
I'm just saying you've got to blend in.
Otherwise, if you stick out and there is a global collapse, you could be in a world of hurt because then you may not have the protection of your local consulate.
You know, political structures may be weak.
You may be taken advantage of.
For example, in Ecuador, it's not uncommon now.
It seems like it's gotten a lot worse since I lived there.
But some people are being robbed on hiking trails, you know, Americans or Canadians.
Some extortion is going on.
Some people are being robbed.
It's not at a terrible level.
It can still be a great place for some people to live, but I know these things happen in Panama as well.
I know they happen in Costa Rica.
I know they happen in Mexico, especially in Mexico.
So I would really think seriously about that.
If you look South American, you'd probably be fine to live there, but if you look white, you might want to think again.
Now why did I choose Texas?
Very simple.
Texas turns out to be the perfect place for me.
It just happens to be that Texas just...
I just have a Texas philosophy, which is individual liberty, self-sustaining, living, minding your own business, leaving people the hell alone.
You know, standing up for your rights and for yourself, but also helping out your neighbors when they need help.
Texas is a place for rugged individuals like myself who believe in the Bill of Rights, who believe in the Constitution, and who believe in liberty, and who want to engage in, you know, farming activities and, you know, shooting your own rifle on your own property without getting the police called on you.
And Texas is great.
I love Texas.
I've looked at every state in the United States, I've looked at living there.
And there are some great places in, for example, southern Oregon, even southern Washington, Tri-County area.
Idaho is a great place for preparedness, although it's a little cold climate-wise.
Arizona can be, but it's also quite dry down in the Phoenix and Southern California is to be completely avoided.
Northern California can be a good solution.
There are many great preppers and survivalists living in Northern California, but it's not my favorite state because of the politics there and the crazy people like Dianne Feinstein.
Florida, way too much crime coming out of Miami.
Man, not a good place to be anywhere near Miami or Orlando if the stuff hits the fan.
And certainly you don't want to be anywhere on the eastern seaboard.
Nothing, you know, Boston, Philadelphia, New York City.
If you go up north, Maine is pretty good.
There are a lot of good places in the Midwest that are pretty good.
There are a lot of places to go.
Utah also is a great choice.
Lots of great areas in Utah.
But I chose Texas.
It's got a good climate.
We've got decent soil.
We've got the right attitude in Texas.
I like Texas.
So here I am, and I'm here to stay.
That's my answer.
Alright, next question.
What is Alex Jones really like off-camera?
Is he as angry off-camera as he is on-camera?
Well, first of all, I have issue with the characterization that he's angry on-camera.
He's not really...
Okay, maybe he's angry, but he's righteously angry.
He's angry with justification, because unlike many people who stick their heads in the sand and try to pretend there are no problems, Alex Jones faces the issues up front, tells the truth, and is seeking solutions for long-term liberty and long-term freedom.
Alex Jones is the real deal, and off-camera, he's actually very, very humble.
He's very...
He's funny.
He's kind of fun.
He likes to joke around a little bit, kind of like I do.
We're both into little comedy skits and making fun with satire of politics or whatever.
Alex has always been a very generous person, a very nice person.
Does not have an ego at all.
Believe me, he is not into ego.
Which is one of the reasons why I just personally like him.
And I think that's why he and I get along because neither one of us is into big egos.
We're not trying to be...
In fact, both of us would rather just quit doing what we're doing and just go home and farm.
Seriously.
Neither one of us is seeking limelight.
We don't want to be out there saying anything.
We'd rather just have a free country...
And our children protected, knowing that they will have liberty, and then we just go home and say, great, everything's great, let's just go home and support our communities and grow the economy and mind our own business.
But the reason we are out speaking is because this is a red alert scenario where the police state is on, and we're all under severe attack.
And that's why Alex Jones is justifiably aggressive.
And I admire that in him, and I think he's a key player in almost the revolution that I think we're headed toward.
And I hope it's a non-violent revolution.
I hope it's an information revolution.
I'm not sure.
It may turn violent at some point if the government starts running a bunch of false flags and arresting people and trying to engage in gun confiscation and what have you.
So anyway, I have a great deal of respect for Alex Jones.
I think I respect him more than any other person that I've met in the alternative media industry.
And that's saying a lot because I've met a lot of people, but Alex is a super hard worker and he's an innovator and he creates prosperity.
He built that company from scratch, no investors, no government grants, nothing.
And I really respect that.
I respect that in others, and that's the same philosophy that I pursue myself.
I built my business with my own sweat and effort and creativity as well.
I never took money from investors, never took government grant money, just built business from the ground up.
I respect people who do that.
So that's the answer to question number two.
Question number three.
You look like you've gained some weight in the past year.
What's going on?
It is true.
I have gained some weight and the reason is I moved my location and I no longer had access to a gymnasium where I used to work out and I fell out of my workout routine and I got into too much online work.
I just spent my hours writing more articles and doing more uh videos and interviews and things like that instead of actually working out two or three hours a day as I used to do and I thought well I can just jog out here in the country or whatever and that'll make up for it well that it didn't turn out to be the case so so I did actually I imbalanced my life a little bit got too much into work not enough into working out with fitness got out of balance I'm now correcting that and uh
For Christmas, I bought myself a new exercise bike, a recumbent bike, and I've been cruising on that sucker and having a good time putting some miles on that, and I got a rebounder next to it, and I have a treadmill, and I have some kettlebells.
So what I'm doing right now is I'm doing only about an hour a day at the moment, but I'm going to be increasing that.
I'm doing treadmill, recumbent bike, trampoline, I'm a rebounder and kettlebells for strength training.
That's become a really good routine.
I got a little area set up for that that's working out really well.
I'm back in the routine having a good time with that.
You might notice some difference.
Look, I appreciate your concern, but the truth is we all struggle with this.
If we don't stay on top of our fitness, Then we can still eat healthy foods because I eat healthy foods by and large.
I mean, a few exceptions, but mostly very healthy.
You know, avocado, superfood smoothies every morning.
That's my breakfast.
And I eat healthy throughout the day and I take supplements and so on.
But you can still gain weight eating healthy food.
If you don't, stay on top of the fitness.
And that's what happened to me.
So, just like you, I'm a person who says, let's walk our talk.
If we want to be healthy, we need to demonstrate that.
So that's why I have recommitted to getting back into fitness.
And it's already begun, actually.
You'll probably notice a difference the next time you see me on camera.
But I enjoy working out.
It's just, sometimes I feel guilty doing it.
Because I feel like I could have spent that time writing another article or doing another interview or helping someone in some other way.
So sometimes I actually make the mistake of allowing myself to feel guilty.
And that's a mistake.
And this is a message to everyone out there who is a healer.
If you're in the healing arts, if you're a massage therapist or an acupuncturist or chiropractic care practitioner, we all have the same challenge, which is that we have to take care of ourselves first, even if it sometimes seems selfish.
Because if we aren't healthy, how can we help others?
We can't let our own health go so far that we become compromised while we're putting out too much energy into helping others.
And I made that mistake.
I know others have made that mistake.
Others struggle with that same question.
It's not an easy balancing act.
So for me, I've got to get back into exercise and actually spend less time working on the computer, less time writing articles.
And that's hard for me because I really, really enjoy writing.
I really enjoy what I do.
I also enjoy working out, but it's just a balance issue.
You know, the big answer to your question is, yeah, I'm human too, and I can have the same challenges that you have.
And sometimes I can get off track just like you.
And I have to recommit to staying back on track.
This is the life experience.
This is the learning experience.
This is where wisdom comes from.
And I think the older that we get, I'm in my 40s, the more we have to remember to recommit to that healthy lifestyle.
Because, you know, like you could eat anything you wanted when you were 18 or 19, or at least I could...
And a lot of people can, but boy, you know, when you hit 30, that totally changes.
And when you hit 40, man, it's a whole different level of commitment.
And I guess when I hit 50 at some point, I'm probably going to be saying the same thing, you know, doubled or tripled.
So there is no shortcut.
To physical fitness.
You just got to put in the hours and make it happen.
So I'm doing that and I hope you're doing that too.
