As you can imagine, my phone, your phone, everybody's phone in the news media right now is blowing up over this news that basically the chief, Kristen Crowley, was ordered into a closed-door meeting that lasted a while.
Sources inside City Hall tell us that the mayor was none too pleased with the comments that she candidly, with a lot of candor, shared with.
I can tell you, Alex and Marla, the chief had tears in her eyes.
She lives in Los Angeles.
She has seen the devastation and we reviewed years worth of memos where the chief warned that the department was severely, seriously understaffed and underfunded.
I mean, here you see there was at least a honesty from the fire chief.
I know there's been a lot of criticism because, of course, she's not only openly gay, but she has been talking about the necessity of employing more women and all that BS. Because diversity, equity, and inclusion is about hiring, not because you are, of course, good at your work.
It's because of the color of your skin, of your sexuality.
And it really, in the end, fails every time, this kind of policy.
The diversity, everything, inclusion, like I explained in volume 11, was started during the Obama administration.
It was Barack Hussein Obama, the guy who started this mess.
And now we are paying the consequences, unfortunately.
Today, of course, the whole thing came to a steal when the actual mayor admitted their confrontation, but said we are setting aside our differences for the moment.
It's nothing, nothing, nothing that I will not do for the city where I was born and raised.
And I know that that goes for all of us.
So let me be clear about something.
The fire chief and I are focused on fighting these fires and saving lives, and any differences that we might have will be worked out in private.
But right now, our first and most important obligation to Angelenos is to get through this crisis.
