[00:01:31] Let me tell you about a case that the Supreme Court is going to be hearing today that is one of the most important issues you can possibly understand. [00:01:39] Ever. [00:01:40] I want you to listen closely. [00:01:42] Let me explain this to you. [00:01:43] And what could be... [00:01:45] A landmark, and I don't use that term lightly, a landmark religious liberty clause. [00:01:52] The Supreme Court SCOTUS is reviewing a challenge from religious parents who are fighting back against a Maryland school district's decision to force young children. [00:02:06] Now listen to this. [00:02:07] This is really critical. [00:02:08] And it's not anywhere. [00:02:10] I defy you to find this in any news story. [00:02:13] Anybody talking about it? [00:02:14] No? [00:02:15] No, do you wonder why that is? [00:02:17] Wonder why that is? [00:02:19] Gee, what do you think that's about? [00:02:21] In any event, this is a Maryland school district's decision to force young children to sit through lessons involving, and I'm being kind, LGBTQ-themed books without any opt-out option. [00:02:38] Let me explain to you the case. [00:02:41] It's called Mahmoud against Taylor. [00:02:47] It stems from the Montgomery County, Maryland case. [00:02:50] Where the school board in 2022 introduced a set of picture books. [00:02:59] But not just any picture books. [00:03:01] Picture books promoting LGBTQ themes including Pride Puppy and Uncle Bobby's Wedding. [00:03:09] They introduced this into the curriculum for children as young as, wait for it, four years old. [00:03:17] Now these books feature same-sex couples and celebrate pride parades, all under the guise, all under the umbrella of, you got it, inclusivity. [00:03:29] Now the parents, Muslim, Catholic, and Ukrainian Orthodox, This is like free exercise clause stuff. [00:03:54] So, no warning, no choice, no opt-out. [00:04:00] This is what this is about. [00:04:01] Now, originally... [00:04:03] The district had allowed parents to opt out of such lessons. [00:04:06] But in 2023, the Montgomery County Board of Education abruptly reversed its policy and it eliminated parental notification and the opt-out option entirely. [00:04:22] Remember, they're not arguing about whether this is being taught. [00:04:26] They're arguing about whether they have the option as a parent to opt out. [00:04:29] So why'd they do this? [00:04:30] They claimed it was too, quote, logistically challenging. [00:04:34] This is their reason. [00:04:36] And they accused parents of being bigoted if they objected. [00:04:40] Now let that one sink in. [00:04:42] Faithful parents who simply wanted to raise their children according to their beliefs were being acquitted to white supremacists. [00:04:52] That's right, ladies and gentlemen. [00:04:54] See what happens? [00:04:55] This isn't education. [00:04:56] This is coercion. [00:04:58] And if you think I'm exaggerating, read the case. [00:05:02] Now the parents are going to court and they're fighting for their rights and it's about time. [00:05:07] They're represented by the Beckett Fund for Religious Liberty. [00:05:11] This is the parent sued, citing a clear violation of their First Amendment rights. [00:05:17] They argue that being forced to expose their children To teachings on sexuality and gender identity without consent compels them to violate their religious principles. [00:05:33] So this isn't about banning books. [00:05:36] Let's be very, very clear about this. [00:05:37] It's about letting parents, letting American parents decide what is age appropriate for their kids. [00:05:45] Let me say, whose kids? [00:05:46] Their kids. [00:05:48] Their kids. [00:05:49] Their minor children. [00:05:50] Their kids. [00:05:51] This is about parental supremacy, parental primacy, parental autonomy. [00:05:56] And after all, if parents can't decide when to introduce these topics, who can? [00:06:00] What if there were books that say, Joey's an atheist? [00:06:05] Little sister, they don't go to church because there's no God. [00:06:08] You think they'd have a right then? [00:06:10] You think they'd have a right? [00:06:11] But the lower court sided with the school district. [00:06:14] Gee, that's amazing, isn't it? [00:06:16] Both the Federal District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, that's the Intermediate Appellate Court, brushed off the parents' request for even a temporary injunction. [00:06:27] Now remember, the judges who are involved now will grant TROs, temporary restraining orders, for anything if it involves what? [00:06:38] TDA, MS-13, no problem with that. [00:06:42] But this, eh. [00:06:43] And all you have to do to allege a TRO is irreparable harm or the potential of something. [00:06:49] And that's like the easiest burden. [00:06:51] They said, no. [00:06:52] The judges insisted that exposure to ideas doesn't amount to coercion. [00:06:59] Think about this. [00:07:01] So, tell that to the parents who feel bullied out of their own children's education. [00:07:07] Tell that to them. [00:07:08] Tell them, no, no, no, you got this all wrong. [00:07:10] You just move along, you white supremacists. [00:07:13] Muslim white supremacists? [00:07:15] Jewish white? [00:07:16] I mean, Ukraine? [00:07:17] What? [00:07:18] That was up to the Supreme Court. [00:07:19] Here's what happened. [00:07:20] The high court heard oral arguments on April the 23rd. [00:07:26] That is tomorrow. [00:07:28] Does that make any sense? [00:07:33] I'm going to check this out. [00:07:35] Maybe I misread this. [00:07:38] In any event, the question is, can a school district override Religious freedom and parental rights under the guise of diversity. [00:07:50] That's the issue. [00:07:52] Now, the parents' case, in this particular case, leans heavily on legal precedents like Wisconsin v. [00:07:59] Yoder, where the court ruled that Amish families could withdraw children from school past the eighth grade to protect their religious traditions. [00:08:09] Remember, it's about precedent. [00:08:11] They also point to the Church of the Lukumi Babalu Ayye versus the city of Hialeah. [00:08:19] This is a 1993 case that said policies targeting religious practices are unconstitutional if they're not neutral or generally applicable. [00:08:30] Here, the school board allowed opt-outs for family life and human sexuality lessons in the past, LGBTQ content. [00:08:44] See, that's selective, and that's biased, and it's wrong. [00:08:47] This is government arrogance on full display. [00:08:51] In a brief supporting the parents, the Trump administration stated the obvious. [00:08:56] Denying parents any say in what their kids are exposed to forces them to choose between their faith and the public school system. [00:09:06] That Acting Solicitor General Sarah Harris wrote, that is textbook interference with the free exercise of religion. [00:09:14] That's the First Amendment. [00:09:16] Meanwhile, the school board's defense is predictable. [00:09:18] They claim the policy is neutral, that no student is forced to affirm anything, and that letting parents opt out would shred public education. [00:09:29] Translation, we know what's best for your kids. [00:09:31] You don't. [00:09:33] They don't have to affirm. [00:09:34] They just have to listen and be contaminated. [00:09:36] That's the point. [00:09:37] And even worse, the school board argued that it's not enough for parents to feel their religious beliefs are under attack. [00:09:43] They must prove literal coercion or punishment. [00:09:48] So apparently being told your child will be read stories that contradict your core faith values doesn't count. [00:09:55] Now the backlash is growing nationwide. [00:10:00] Across the country. [00:10:02] Parents are watching this case very closely. [00:10:05] If the court rules against these families, it could set a chilling precedent. [00:10:10] Will schools be able to slip more ideological content into classrooms without any regard for religious objections? [00:10:17] That's the issue. [00:10:18] And conservatives see a broader pattern here. [00:10:21] Woke ideology, that's right again. [00:10:23] Being forced into every corner of public life, while traditional values are mocked and marginalized and branded as somehow white supremacist. [00:10:31] The left claims that it's about inclusion, that there's an inclusion problem. [00:10:38] Well, where's the inclusion for Christian and Muslim and Orthodox families who just want to raise their kids without government indoctrination? [00:10:45] And the court's conservative majority holds the key. [00:10:50] Let's pray. [00:10:51] With the current conservative-leaning Supreme Court, many believe the tide could turn. [00:10:56] If the justices uphold the parents' rights, it could force school boards across the country to rethink curriculum policies and reinstate opt-out provisions. [00:11:07] A ruling in favor of the school district, however, could embolden, and this is frightening, left-wing woke radical activists. [00:11:16] To push even more radical material into elementary classrooms. [00:11:20] Because remember, they want your kids and they want their minds. [00:11:23] Leaving families powerless. [00:11:25] Justice Samuel Alito, known for his strong stance on religious liberty, hinted at this concern during arguments. [00:11:32] He questioned whether the police, excuse me, whether the policy, really respects diverse religious traditions. [00:11:40] Justice Amy Coney Barrett asked whether the policy would allow any exceptions for religious belief. [00:11:47] Now it's clear that at least some members of the court see this not as a simple education issue, but a constitutional one. [00:11:54] So what's at stake here? [00:11:55] This isn't just about Montgomery County. [00:11:58] This is about whether America still respects religious freedom and parental authority and parental primacy and parental autonomy. [00:12:07] Or whether the state will dictate what your child must learn, believe and accept and be exposed to. [00:12:12] It's about whether public schools serve families or steamroll them in the name of progress. [00:12:19] It's about whether faith still matters in the public square. [00:12:22] And it's about whether conservatives are willing to stand up and say, that's enough. [00:12:26] Because enough is enough. [00:12:30] This is absolutely critical. [00:12:35] Absolutely critical. [00:12:38] Now they are believing, they are hoping for a decision as expected by the end of June or early July. [00:12:45] Until then, families of faith across America wait and pray that common sense and the Constitution in this case will prevail. [00:12:54] This is critical. [00:12:56] Thank God we have President Trump at the helm and thank God we have this administration. [00:13:00] Because if you think this is just about kids, you have no idea. [00:13:04] Pay very close attention to this. [00:13:06] I'm going to be talking about it as well. [00:13:08] So in the meantime, my dear friends, please do me a favor. [00:13:11] Subscribe to this channel. [00:13:12] Subscribe. [00:13:13] Like this. [00:13:14] Liking it is critical. [00:13:16] Puts us into the HOV, into the express lane, so to speak. [00:13:21] The on-ramp of whatever the hell the freeway analogy is. [00:13:31] In any event, my dear friends, I want to hear what you think. [00:13:35] What do you think should happen, as if I didn't know?
