[00:01:32] All right, dear friends. [00:01:35] We're going to be doing another round of this. [00:01:37] We're calling this the Summit. [00:01:38] I don't know why. [00:01:39] I just like the sound of it. [00:01:40] Mrs. L and I were talking about something, and she has something very, very important I want you to hear about involving Sinead O'Connor. [00:01:47] Very, very sad story of an incredible talent, but you don't need me to explain this. [00:01:53] Explain your position. [00:01:55] Well, Sinead was a wonderful talent who was never, in my opinion, given her due. [00:02:04] We have to go back to her childhood. [00:02:06] She was, at the hands of her mother, a victim of terrible, terrible child abuse. === Nothing Compares You (07:33) === [00:02:11] She was put into a special school as a child, young teen, and was what she called herself a problem child, a problem teen. [00:02:24] And one day, as the story goes, there was a nun. [00:02:27] This was a school in Ireland run by nuns. [00:02:30] A nun gave her a guitar. [00:02:32] And she really took to the guitar, she took to singing, and the nun decided, this young girl has talent, this young teen. [00:02:40] And it just snowballed, and she got her involved, and she ended up in the music business. [00:02:46] And she had that great first album out, that song, Nothing Can Compare to You. [00:02:53] No, Nothing... [00:02:54] Nothing Compares You. [00:02:56] Nothing Compares You, sorry. [00:03:00] For a little bit, she was the toast of the town. [00:03:02] She always admitted that she had severe mental health problems due to her childhood from as far back as she can remember being abused, a problematic family. [00:03:12] So now, fast forward, she's in the music business. [00:03:14] And I know so many women, now women, who started as teens or even just as young women in the entertainment field, especially in the music business, because I started straight out of school into the music business. [00:03:29] Just so abused the entire business. [00:03:33] And for Sinead to not be given any kind of support. [00:03:39] Now let's fast forward to she went on Saturday Night Live in 1992. [00:03:43] And at the end of her performance, she ripped up a picture of the Pope. [00:03:49] And from that point forward, she was kind of blacklisted, not welcomed, nothing. [00:03:55] Now, let's fast forward again. [00:03:58] What I want to say about ripping up that picture of the Pope, this is my opinion. [00:04:04] In retrospect and knowing everything I know now and learning and reading and things that have come out in that 31 years, she was correct at her message. [00:04:15] She was trying to use her platform to get a message through about all the child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. [00:04:22] But now we'll fast forward to Miley Cyrus, who claims... [00:04:28] For her big hit where she was swinging naked on a big ball, Wrecking Ball was the name of the song, that her inspiration was Sinead O 'Connor. [00:04:37] So Sinead, seeing that she was naked on a ball, wrote her a very nice letter saying, this comes from love and as a mother, this comes to you. [00:04:48] Don't let them exploit you. [00:04:51] And what did Miley Cyrus do, who claimed Sinead was her mentor for this song? [00:04:56] She put out in the public and all over social media, oh, this crazy, what's the family show? [00:05:01] I don't want to curse, you know, B-I-T-C-H, you know, laughing at her, mocking her, and seemingly just dismissing her. [00:05:09] That was that. [00:05:09] And Sinead had a very sad life. [00:05:11] Four children and her son a couple of years ago, 17 years old, killed himself. [00:05:16] And she never could get over, in her own words, all of this just devastation upon devastation. [00:05:24] And I know one time, do you remember she was found the site of Ruford, Jersey, in a motel. [00:05:30] In a very, the kind of motel where prostitutes used to go off the George Washington Bridge. [00:05:38] And it was such a weird story. [00:05:40] Like, I don't know how she ended up there. [00:05:42] There was never any follow-up. [00:05:44] Who was taking care of her kids. [00:05:46] But the story coming out today, neighbors of hers, she lived in a very nice building in London. [00:05:52] She wanted to get out of Ireland, away from all of that. [00:05:55] Lived in a very nice area, nice apartment building. [00:05:58] And she talked to her neighbors. [00:06:00] They said they would see her smoking. [00:06:02] You know, and she'd chit-chat with everybody. [00:06:04] They had no idea who she even was. [00:06:06] But they said she was a very nice woman, and she was very friendly, and she talked to people. [00:06:10] So, all in all, a tragedy, a sad life. [00:06:13] But the point of this whole thing is, she admitted to being mentally ill. [00:06:20] Mental health problems. [00:06:22] She was trying to heal herself. [00:06:24] She did go to doctors who diagnosed her as bipolar. [00:06:28] And this is just a very sad life for a woman who I think is very talented. [00:06:32] At 56 years old, we don't really know the cause of death. [00:06:35] Nobody has really told us the cause of death, but I can only imagine, but I don't know. [00:06:40] And I just feel very bad about her. [00:06:43] Well, she warned Miley Cyrus. [00:06:47] She said, do not let people exploit you sexually. [00:06:50] Do not let somebody take your image and your version of who you are. [00:06:57] Don't let them do this. [00:06:59] You are in charge of this. [00:07:01] And I thought that was a very, very important thing. [00:07:02] She was very, very sad. [00:07:05] It was absolutely... [00:07:06] She was sad. [00:07:09] And granted, the Pope... [00:07:12] The symbology. [00:07:17] At the time, nobody understood it. [00:07:21] But now... [00:07:22] Oh yeah. [00:07:26] But remember, John Paul II was probably more responsible for covering up more than anybody. [00:07:34] Because Ratzenberger, Pope Benedict, was really the... [00:07:38] They called him the... [00:07:42] The Pope's pitbull in terms of going after them. [00:07:46] So, in any event, I wanted just to take this time just to give a different perspective. [00:07:50] She's very, very sad. [00:07:52] And what happens is, it's funny, when you are discarded in the world of entertainment, when you serve them their purpose no longer, you're just discarded. [00:08:01] You're nothing. [00:08:02] And they mock you, they laugh at you, but when you're a hit, they love you. [00:08:07] And by the way, I, we were talking about this, we have very bad feelings about Britney Spears coming up next and Madonna. [00:08:18] Without going into too much detail as to the latter of the two. [00:08:23] Well, I think this should be, our takeaway should be that people really need to understand about mental health. [00:08:29] It is not to be, you know, not discussed. [00:08:33] We have a tremendous, well-documented youth mental health crisis in the United States right now in 2023. [00:08:39] It's not being dealt with properly. [00:08:41] I don't see media talking about it too much. [00:08:44] I don't see individuals. [00:08:46] People believe, let's not talk about it. [00:08:49] It's shameful. [00:08:51] It's this. [00:08:52] But in the meantime, we have more kids than ever. [00:08:54] We have more young people 30 and under turning to drugs, turning to suicide, turning to... [00:09:00] Meeting predators online because they're feeling so vulnerable, looking for love. [00:09:04] So I think the whole mental health aspect has to really, really be brought out into the front. [00:09:09] And let's get on top of this. [00:09:11] Let's talk about it. [00:09:12] And let's heal. [00:09:14] I mean, this is just a very sad story. [00:09:16] But if it gives us a chance to talk about these things, that's something. [00:09:22] That was good. [00:09:23] That's what I wanted to do. [00:09:24] Thank you for that. [00:09:25] That was excellent. [00:09:26] We will chat again. [00:09:27] And by the way, I put down here, Follow Lynn's Warriors on Twitter. [00:09:31] I cannot say X. I can't. [00:09:35] I don't say X either. [00:09:36] It's ridiculous, and I don't say X. It is Twitter. [00:09:39] Follow you accordingly. [00:09:40] Thank you, my darling.
