[00:01:47] You are not left or right, whatever that means. [00:01:50] Let me tell you a little story. [00:01:53] I was a psych major in college, which means nothing, but it kind of does. [00:02:00] And I always liked, when I was reading books, when I would get a textbook, I always like, open the front, Just get an idea of the, kind of where we're going. === Memory Matters (15:58) === [00:02:09] It's always interesting. [00:02:10] Table of contents. [00:02:11] Where are we going? [00:02:13] And in law school I did, oh, contract. [00:02:15] Oh, implied. [00:02:16] Oh, consideration. [00:02:17] Oh, okay. [00:02:18] Well, there was a class on memory. [00:02:20] Memory, I loved it. [00:02:21] I loved memory. [00:02:21] There were two classes I remember the most. [00:02:23] Memory, and the other one was perception and awareness. [00:02:27] Psychology curricula, for the most part, there are three kinds. [00:02:31] There's cognitive, well, there's Cognitive. [00:02:34] Not cognitive. [00:02:35] There's counseling. [00:02:37] There it is. [00:02:38] I'm sorry. [00:02:38] Clinical. [00:02:41] Experimental. [00:02:42] And I.O. Industrial. [00:02:44] That was it. [00:02:45] The big three. [00:02:46] We did a lot of experimental. [00:02:48] A lot of math. [00:02:51] But in the clinical part, there was this one part called memory. [00:02:55] And perception and awareness. [00:02:57] Loved it. [00:02:58] So I open up the chapter and I look at it. [00:03:01] What do I see? [00:03:03] Half of the book is devoted to forgetting. [00:03:08] I thought this is so important. [00:03:10] Isn't that something? [00:03:12] Forgetting. [00:03:14] Forgetting is one of the most important things. [00:03:17] Do you really forget? [00:03:18] When people say forgive and forget, you don't really forget things. [00:03:21] Sometimes you will truly forget something. [00:03:26] What we really mean is when something we kind of habituate to it or It loses its impact. [00:03:34] Someone slighted you. [00:03:35] Someone broke your heart. [00:03:37] Someone stole money. [00:03:40] Normally it's the bad stuff we want to forget, not the good stuff. [00:03:43] And you remember it, but it doesn't have an impact on you anymore. [00:03:49] It doesn't mean the same. [00:03:53] See what I'm saying? [00:03:55] You don't forget anything. [00:03:58] It's not a good idea to forget. [00:04:00] Forgetting is not a good thing. [00:04:05] But how much weight you give it, that's the story. [00:04:10] You will never forget what somebody did to you. [00:04:12] Remember when you were a teenager, somebody broke your heart. [00:04:16] Maybe, maybe not. [00:04:17] I don't know. [00:04:18] I don't know about that. [00:04:19] But maybe you did. [00:04:20] Maybe, maybe, oh my God. [00:04:23] And you sit back now and you say, you know what? [00:04:25] I remember that, but... [00:04:27] It just doesn't mean anything to me. [00:04:30] Whereas if you say, I remember breaking my leg. [00:04:32] Oh yeah, that was horrible. [00:04:34] My God, I was in a cast for six months. [00:04:39] I had to have it broken in surgery. [00:04:41] Oh God, that was horrible. [00:04:43] You remember that? [00:04:45] I mean, you don't wake up in the middle of the night. [00:04:47] You remember that? [00:04:48] But certain events? [00:04:49] Oh yeah, I broke. [00:04:51] Whatever. [00:04:55] Forgiveness is another word. [00:04:57] I don't understand this. [00:04:58] I don't understand what forgive. [00:04:59] Forgive means don't worry about it. [00:05:01] Forgive? [00:05:02] Nobody forgives. [00:05:06] Nobody forgives. [00:05:08] What you're saying is something else. [00:05:10] To forgive... [00:05:12] Well, you know what? [00:05:12] Let's do this. [00:05:13] I always tell you to do this. [00:05:14] So let's do it right now. [00:05:15] Let's get an actual definition of forgive. [00:05:19] Forgiveness. [00:05:20] Forgive means to stop feeling angry. [00:05:23] Or resentful towards someone for an offense, flaw, or mistake. [00:05:30] Now think about that one. [00:05:32] To cancel a debt. [00:05:35] But think about this. [00:05:38] What forgive truly means, forgiveness means different things to different people, but in general it involves an intentional decision to let go of resentment and anger. [00:05:49] The fact that hurt or offended might always be with you. [00:05:53] So what this is, and I did not notice this until this moment, it does not mean an absolution. [00:06:01] It doesn't mean that it's okay. [00:06:05] You can forgive or cancel a debt. [00:06:08] But it means, again, to stop feeling angry or resentful towards someone for an offense, flaw, or mistake. [00:06:18] So what it means is, oh, you're not off the hook. [00:06:23] I'm not saying it was okay. [00:06:27] I'm saying I'm not upset about this anymore. [00:06:32] Did you know that? [00:06:34] I did not know that. [00:06:38] I did not know that. [00:06:43] Think about that. [00:06:46] I didn't know that. [00:06:48] I always thought forgive meant to absolve, to give a clean, you know. [00:06:58] So when you're like, for example, in the Catholic Church, we had confession or reconciliation, you know, forgiveness. [00:07:07] It was a different story. [00:07:09] Now let's talk about something which is very critical, very important for all of us to understand. [00:07:13] But first, let me say, it is important and critical and beyond, and I can't say it enough for you to like this video. [00:07:20] I know people say it all the time. [00:07:21] I know it's repeated to the point of absolute insanity, but it's important that I say that. [00:07:26] You must like this video. [00:07:27] You must subscribe to this channel. [00:07:29] You must subscribe to this channel. [00:07:32] We are a dangerous commodity, and the reason why is because people cannot figure us out, and they don't like that. [00:07:39] Both sides hate us. [00:07:40] All sides hate me. [00:07:41] Us. [00:07:42] I can't stand... [00:07:43] The stuff I say to people, they don't like to hear. [00:07:48] I think you know what's going on. [00:07:49] There's this Fox News thing, which I handle on my private channel at LionelMedia.com. [00:07:55] That's where I go. [00:07:56] LionelMedia.com. [00:07:57] I go into exquisite detail about that. [00:08:01] They don't like that. [00:08:03] Because... [00:08:04] What I'm telling you is, so what? [00:08:06] You're missing the point. [00:08:13] It doesn't mean anything. [00:08:14] It's forgotten. [00:08:15] Not forgiven. [00:08:16] Forgotten. [00:08:17] I'll give you an example of something. [00:08:20] There is a dog obedience. [00:08:25] Don't ask me why I get involved. [00:08:27] I'm doing this YouTube thing and all of a sudden there's this channel I like and then I'm getting all these songs. [00:08:37] Oh, for the love of God. [00:08:40] These shorts. [00:08:42] Anyway, there's a guy I like a lot. [00:08:43] He's an ex-cop and he always wants to train Cane Corsos and this. [00:08:47] And he's explaining how to train. [00:08:51] And I love the behavioral part of it because I'm a psychologist at heart, which is what I started off with. [00:08:59] I'm going to go back to that. [00:09:02] And what is important here, when I watch from him, whatever, is the following. [00:09:07] Forgetting. [00:09:07] Forgiving, that's Forgiving is like mending. [00:09:15] Okay, you know what? [00:09:16] That pain's gone. [00:09:17] You know what? [00:09:17] I can use this again. [00:09:18] Thank you. [00:09:19] That's kind of forgetting. [00:09:20] You remember it. [00:09:22] But the pain of the show. [00:09:24] Forgetting and also distraction. [00:09:26] Who's a dyslexic here? [00:09:28] Anybody who's a dyslexic? [00:09:31] People have terrible jokes about it. [00:09:35] Somebody said something one time, which is very important. [00:09:37] They said, if you understood how inherently unnatural reading is, you would be surprised anybody can read. [00:09:45] Reading is the most... [00:09:47] Dyslexia, when it comes to reading comprehension, is understood. [00:09:53] It makes complete and total understand. [00:09:55] It makes sense. [00:09:57] And I understand it completely and totally. [00:10:01] Or totally, as they say here in New York. [00:10:05] And one of the things which is interesting is that there was a time when for processing something, it's very interesting how you process it, how it comes in, what do you do with it? [00:10:15] What do you do with it? [00:10:20] There are so many forms, and I see this, I know this. [00:10:28] There are so many interesting You know, aphasia. [00:10:39] Have you ever heard of something called dyspraxia, which is called a coordination disorder, which is fascinating. [00:10:46] And the reason why it's fascinating is called developmental coordination disorder. [00:10:52] Sometimes people are... [00:10:54] have a hard time sometimes doing certain things. [00:10:58] And instead of us... [00:11:00] Yelling at a kid and saying, hey, why don't you do this? [00:11:02] You've got to say, no, wait, wait, wait, wait. [00:11:03] That's not their thing. [00:11:06] I know that I have certain absolutely cognitive, you might want to call it a shortcoming, but it doesn't really matter because I don't really use it. [00:11:21] But I know, as a matter of fact, I have it. [00:11:24] And it's spatial and geographic sometimes, but it doesn't come up. [00:11:31] I have to think sometimes, like for example, I'm very good at pointing directions here. [00:11:38] Like where I'm sitting right now, I can tell you where everything is. [00:11:42] I can point to Times Square. [00:11:44] I can point to Jersey. [00:11:45] I can point to this. [00:11:46] That I can do. [00:11:47] But when I have to think about, okay, well, how do we get to some place? [00:11:54] I have to rise above, in my head, rise above, And look at the map accordingly. [00:12:02] That's the way I look down on it. [00:12:04] Not on the street. [00:12:05] Not, oh, there's 8th Avenue. [00:12:07] Oh, there's the West Side Highway. [00:12:08] No, no, no, no. [00:12:08] I have to rise above and I look down on it. [00:12:12] Now I understand it. [00:12:13] Now I can see it. [00:12:15] Now, that doesn't come into play. [00:12:17] It doesn't cause a problem. [00:12:19] But I have it. [00:12:21] It's what I do. [00:12:23] I think when I was a kid, when I stuttered, still every now and then it comes up and I recognize that. [00:12:27] Oh, that's a great one. [00:12:29] Because that's nothing but motor putting the word out. [00:12:34] And they have all these theories about it. [00:12:35] Well, you think so fast. [00:12:37] No, you don't. [00:12:38] No, it's just... [00:12:40] I don't know. [00:12:42] And they're stuttering, they're stammering, and there's all kinds of things. [00:12:44] Sometimes it's very, very bad. [00:12:45] Some people have it, some people don't. [00:12:47] And I got around that one as well. [00:12:50] But the thing I like the most about it is distraction. [00:12:53] So years ago there was a study where a bunch of people who were... [00:12:55] Prestidigitators. [00:12:57] A sleight of hand people. [00:12:59] They were approached by some linguists, cunning or otherwise, who were told, may we talk to you about how you distract people's attention. [00:13:14] How do you do that? [00:13:18] How do you do that? [00:13:20] By the way, here's a great word today. [00:13:21] Great word for the day. [00:13:22] Before I forget it. [00:13:23] Siesis. [00:13:25] I went to school with her. [00:13:26] C-Y-E-S-I-S. [00:13:30] Siesis. [00:13:31] Meaning? [00:13:32] Pregnancy. [00:13:34] I had never heard Siesis. [00:13:36] Never. [00:13:38] Pregnancy. [00:13:39] So next time you want to use, throw in Siesis. [00:13:41] C-Y-E-S-I-S. [00:13:43] Okay. [00:13:44] So they took these people and they said, explain to me what you do. [00:13:48] When you have this thing and you... [00:13:50] And you palm something and you distract. [00:13:53] They know exactly where you're going. [00:13:56] So they thought maybe if they could somehow coordinate with sleight of hand folks, they could maybe work to find either a cure or deal with people who have processing disorders, whatever it is. [00:14:11] Have you ever met Pitch Perfect people? [00:14:13] You know Rick Beato? [00:14:14] He's got a great website. [00:14:16] Love him. [00:14:16] His son, Dylan, I think? [00:14:18] This kid is sick. [00:14:19] Have you ever seen him? [00:14:21] They play a chord and the kid says a G minor 7th augmented 6th. [00:14:27] Assuming it's not a work, it's always me thinking everything's wrestling. [00:14:32] Why is this important? [00:14:34] The reason why it's important is when you want to impress somebody and if you want to talk about something. [00:14:42] I was recently doing an interview. [00:14:46] And the interviewer said, what do you think about such and such? [00:14:49] I said, well, it's a very interesting story, but in three days it will be forgotten. [00:14:54] It's my three-day rule, because we forget. [00:14:59] We have the attention span of a gnat. [00:15:00] Gore Vidal called it the United States of Amnesia. [00:15:03] We will forget this. [00:15:04] We forget this. [00:15:05] This doesn't mean anything to us. [00:15:08] We forget. [00:15:09] Do you remember the other day when we were just absolutely amazed, transfixed over balloons? [00:15:18] 99 Luftballons! [00:15:22] Something here from somewhere else! [00:15:26] It's panic! [00:15:28] Something? [00:15:31] This is what we're waiting for! [00:15:34] This is it, boys! [00:15:36] This is what! [00:15:38] That's, of course, Bert Lahr and Ethel Merman combined. [00:15:42] It's an art I have. [00:15:43] I give you my music. [00:15:45] Because music is important to me and I share that with you, so you're welcome. [00:15:50] So, we were transfixed. [00:15:54] Balloons. [00:15:55] What is this balloon? [00:15:56] Did we get it? [00:15:58] Did we see it? [00:15:59] How many of these? [00:16:00] There's another one! [00:16:01] Another one? [00:16:02] There's another one? [00:16:04] It's coming from a hill. [00:16:05] Oh, my God. [00:16:06] What is it? [00:16:07] Well, they say it's a weather balloon. [00:16:08] Or is it from China? [00:16:09] I think it's China. [00:16:10] I don't know. [00:16:11] Oh, my God. [00:16:13] It's about the size of a bus. [00:16:15] I don't know. [00:16:17] Did you know about it? [00:16:18] He knew about it. [00:16:19] He didn't know about it. [00:16:20] Did he know about it? [00:16:20] He said he knew about it. [00:16:21] Well, he didn't say anything. [00:16:22] Well, he said he didn't say something, but we didn't know he said he didn't say something because he didn't say that he didn't say something. [00:16:28] He said he would say something in the event he never said anything, and we didn't need to know if he said something. [00:16:33] So he didn't say anything, and we didn't hear about it, so we don't know about it. [00:16:35] Thank you very much. [00:16:36] Back to you. [00:16:39] Then they shot it down. [00:16:40] Did they shoot it down? [00:16:40] I think they shot it down. [00:16:41] Did they shoot it down? [00:16:42] Shoot it down? [00:16:43] How much? [00:16:43] You know how much those missiles cost? [00:16:45] I hope they shot it down. [00:16:46] Where'd the missile go? [00:16:47] Did it blow up? [00:16:48] That missile didn't keep going, right? [00:16:49] All of a sudden it lands up in Argentina. [00:16:51] All of a sudden there's this missile. [00:16:53] How many of these were there? [00:16:54] Was it a UFO? [00:16:55] A UFO? [00:16:56] Wait a minute. [00:16:56] Hold the ground control to Major Tom. [00:17:01] A little buoy for you. [00:17:04] And I think it's gonna be a long, long time. [00:17:08] Oh, oh, oh, oh. [00:17:14] And then, what happened? [00:17:19] Gone. [00:17:22] Never talked about it again. [00:17:25] Hey, hold it. [00:17:26] Excuse me. [00:17:29] Can we... [00:17:34] Imagine you're having an argument with somebody and you say, excuse me, can I open that window? [00:17:38] Okay, now, anybody want to... [00:17:39] Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. [00:17:42] We're not done talking about this. [00:17:44] News audiences would say, okay, yeah, you know, sure, I'll take a cruller. === MyPillow Alerts (06:05) === [00:17:50] Thanks. [00:17:51] Were we talking about something? [00:17:53] I don't remember. [00:17:54] That's who you are. [00:17:58] So the first question is, is this going to matter? [00:17:59] What are you going to bother for? [00:18:01] Don't worry about it. [00:18:02] What are we arguing for? [00:18:03] What? [00:18:05] What? [00:18:05] What are you talking about? [00:18:07] Well, I don't know. [00:18:07] Did you see that video? [00:18:08] It was fantastic. [00:18:09] Well, there was a video inside. [00:18:12] Did you see what happened? [00:18:13] What are you worried about? [00:18:16] What's today? [00:18:17] Wednesday? [00:18:17] Oh, Friday. [00:18:18] I forget it. [00:18:21] Habituation. [00:18:22] Habituation. [00:18:23] You put on something. [00:18:24] You wear something. [00:18:25] Hey, I got this. [00:18:26] I got this thing on here. [00:18:28] I got this. [00:18:29] This is weird. [00:23:05] Every story I want to talk about, or every story, is only going to be good for today. [00:23:11] Imagine, I don't know about you, I don't mean to ever make fun of people with memory disorders or cognition issues, because it's not funny, but have you ever talked to somebody who's drunk? [00:23:23] Don't even bother arguing. [00:23:24] Say, he's drunk. [00:23:25] Eh, he's not going to remember it tomorrow. [00:23:27] Do you ever have that? [00:23:29] You know, Uncle Dave came in. [00:23:30] Was he yelling at you? [00:23:32] Yeah. [00:23:32] What time was it? [00:23:32] Nine o 'clock? [00:23:33] Ugh, forget it. [00:23:37] He's drunk. [00:23:37] Don't worry about it. [00:23:38] He won't remember it. === Five People Got Better (03:46) === [00:23:39] Don't listen to him. [00:23:42] It's Uncle Dave. [00:23:42] You know how he gets. [00:23:44] You ever see that? [00:23:45] They forget the whole thing. [00:23:47] Like it never happened. [00:23:49] You got that? [00:23:50] You got that? [00:23:52] That's our news today. [00:23:53] That's what's going on. [00:23:54] Whatever you see, and it's written, the news is created by people with their own sense of I don't know what the word is. [00:24:09] Maybe attention deficit issues perhaps? [00:24:12] Also no history? [00:24:15] And there's also another group of people too. [00:24:20] And you might know these and some of you are here. [00:24:23] Let me give you an example. [00:24:25] Do you know years ago they would make these claims? [00:24:29] They would say that people who used Who experimented, let's say, with marijuana were likely to later on become addicted to heroin. [00:24:43] Now, when you heard this, they called it a gateway drug. [00:24:47] You do this and you will just get pulled into that current into heroin. [00:24:54] When, in fact, they were confusing that with correlation. [00:24:58] There's correlation and cause. [00:24:59] Two completely different things. [00:25:01] You see the idea of finding somebody who said, Hey Dave, you were a heroin addict. [00:25:06] I sure was. [00:25:07] 20 years, but I'm sober. [00:25:09] I'm clean and good for you. [00:25:10] Congratulations. [00:25:11] By the way, you were injecting? [00:25:14] I sure was. [00:25:16] Did you ever use marijuana? [00:25:18] Oh, no way. [00:25:19] No, no, no. [00:25:20] Drew the line there. [00:25:21] No way. [00:25:22] Uh-uh. [00:25:23] No. [00:25:24] And that's unlikely. [00:25:25] Somebody who would say, Yeah, injecting something? [00:25:27] Yeah, I'll do that. [00:25:28] But pot? [00:25:29] No. [00:25:29] You would think somebody who would, Not in a gateway transition, but somebody who would experiment. [00:25:35] Maybe drink beer. [00:25:37] Let me get into it. [00:25:39] I was also into sports, and I liked cartoons, and mother's milk, and I was homeschooled. [00:25:46] Those aren't connectors. [00:25:48] Those are just aspects. [00:25:53] It's just like when you use a drug and you say, in this control sample, sample A is a control. [00:25:58] We've given them a placebo. [00:26:00] We have ten people there. [00:26:02] They have this disease. [00:26:04] We gave them this placebo. [00:26:07] Sugar water. [00:26:09] In this group, we gave them the substance that we're trying to test. [00:26:14] And out of the ten people, five people, five got better. [00:26:19] But out of the placebo, four people got better. [00:26:23] Wait a minute. [00:26:25] How did that work? [00:26:26] I don't know, but we've got to get to the bottom of that. [00:26:29] Some of you would say, aha, it works. [00:26:32] Why? [00:26:32] Well, five got better. [00:26:33] Did you hear what I said? [00:26:35] Yeah, I did. [00:26:36] Four people in the other group got better also. [00:26:39] Oh, yeah. [00:26:41] I asked somebody, I said, does prayer work? [00:26:43] Yes. [00:26:44] How do you know that? [00:26:48] Do you apply any kind of thinking to that? [00:26:49] I mean, it could very well be. [00:26:50] I'm not saying it doesn't, but do you have any reason? [00:26:52] Well, why do you think crime rates go up? [00:26:55] Why is there more crime at night? [00:26:57] Then during the daytime, think about it. [00:26:59] People will just answer the question. [00:27:01] And that's one thing that you do. [00:27:03] You just answer questions. [00:27:05] Well, you've got to understand history and statistics and that sort of thing. [00:27:08] And I'm telling you right now, I have found out that I wish I could, I wish I could, at the bottom of the screen, take any news show and say, by the way, this story right now? === Firing And Pizza Delivery (06:41) === [00:27:20] Remember Mystery Science Theater? [00:27:22] I love that. [00:27:23] Remember those little creatures that got with the... [00:27:27] I would be standing probably inside of something. [00:27:31] See this one right here? [00:27:32] Has no idea what she's talking about. [00:27:34] They're just doing whatever it is. [00:27:36] They're just saying things. [00:27:37] This doesn't matter. [00:27:38] This is... [00:27:39] But if I say, now here's what's important. [00:27:42] This is what you should know. [00:27:43] This is what's critical. [00:27:45] Nobody would want to listen to my news program. [00:27:48] I said, okay, by the way, we're going to get rid of all these. [00:27:50] We're going to talk about one story today that really, we're going to really, we're going to start off with the history of, let's say, Ukraine. [00:27:56] Oh, no. [00:27:57] No, no, no, no. [00:27:59] Yes. [00:27:59] Oh, no. [00:28:04] Don't you want to talk? [00:28:04] Well, maybe I'll talk about it. [00:28:06] No, I don't want to talk about it. [00:28:08] Really? [00:28:09] Okay, well. [00:28:11] But don't you think it helps people if they understand? [00:28:13] They're not going to understand. [00:28:15] They're not going to pay attention. [00:28:16] Yeah, but don't you think it makes it? [00:28:17] No. [00:28:17] They're not going to understand. [00:28:18] They're not going to get it. [00:28:20] This is the best one ever. [00:28:26] This is what you'll never see on any news show in this country. [00:28:29] A map. [00:28:29] A globe. [00:28:31] A globe. [00:28:31] And the little, get the right arc here. [00:28:34] These are the seasons. [00:28:35] You've got to turn it to the side. [00:28:36] These are the seasons. [00:28:37] But they don't get it. [00:28:40] You don't understand. [00:28:42] This means nothing. [00:28:44] Remember geography in school? [00:28:46] It was so much fun. [00:28:48] I fell in love with Tunisia. [00:28:49] I loved the fly. [00:28:50] When I was a kid, it was a great school. [00:28:51] I loved the hobby. [00:28:54] I did a report on it. [00:28:55] I used to do reports. [00:28:56] I love reports. [00:28:57] I loved them. [00:28:58] It was great. [00:28:59] I learned independent study, autodidact. [00:29:04] This is important. [00:29:06] Because here's the thing right here. [00:29:08] This is our group. [00:29:09] Right here, look. [00:29:10] Look at us. [00:29:11] This is our side. [00:29:13] Not very complicated. [00:29:15] There's us. [00:29:16] Canada at the top. [00:29:17] There's Mexico and South America. [00:29:19] That's it! [00:29:20] Now, here's the rest of the world. [00:29:23] Wow! [00:29:25] Wow! [00:29:26] Look at that! [00:29:27] Look at all the colors and the countries and oh my god! [00:29:30] See, that explains everything. [00:29:33] That changes your frame of reference. [00:29:37] That changes your frame of reference. [00:29:38] Did you ever talk to somebody from Europe? [00:29:40] They have passports. [00:29:41] Dig over here. [00:29:42] They drive two hours, they're in France. [00:29:44] They go over here, they're in Spain. [00:29:46] They travel, they fly, they're into countries and currencies maybe and languages and food and they're wonderful. [00:29:57] What do we do in our country? [00:29:58] We don't travel. [00:29:59] No, no, no, no, no, no, no. [00:30:02] And throw that into the mix. [00:30:05] How do you explain somebody the history? [00:30:09] How do you explain? [00:30:13] Have you asked somebody, what do you think about the Uyghurs, for example? [00:30:17] They don't know what you're talking about. [00:30:19] Where are they? [00:30:21] Did you check this? [00:30:23] No. [00:30:24] Okay. [00:30:25] How about this story? [00:30:27] This one gets me. [00:30:29] Boy, a lot of people aren't showing back to work. [00:30:31] I've got a couple of friends. [00:30:33] One has a big, big accounting. [00:30:36] Another one is an institutional finance place. [00:30:38] And their workers are not coming back to work. [00:30:41] They're not coming back to work. [00:30:43] And I ask the question, why are they coming back to work? [00:30:46] I don't know. [00:30:47] Well, are you firing them? [00:30:49] No. [00:30:50] Why aren't you firing them? [00:30:52] We can't. [00:30:53] Why not? [00:30:54] What is their incentive to come back if you don't fire them? [00:30:58] I don't understand this. [00:30:59] Well, I don't know. [00:31:00] Wait a minute. [00:31:01] You mean you're not firing them? [00:31:04] No. [00:31:06] I don't understand any of this. [00:31:22] We don't want to travel. [00:31:23] Maybe we're afraid. [00:31:25] Maybe we're weary. [00:31:29] Have you seen this? [00:31:30] Have you ever seen this? [00:31:33] It's all over the place. [00:31:35] Big industries. [00:31:37] We're not showing up. [00:31:38] You're not showing up. [00:31:40] What if you had a pizza joint? [00:31:42] What if you had Domino's Pizza? [00:31:43] What if a delivery? [00:31:43] And you said, my delivery people aren't showing up. [00:31:45] What are you going to do? [00:31:46] Well, they want to work from home. [00:31:47] You can't work from home. [00:31:50] You're fired. [00:31:53] Well, I don't know. [00:31:54] I'm not sure. [00:31:56] What do you mean you're not sure? [00:31:57] Well, we can't find, you know, traitors and they just won't come in. [00:32:02] They're not. [00:32:03] Did you tell them you're going to be fired? [00:32:08] Okay. [00:32:09] And when you go someplace and they ask this person, where did you work before? [00:32:14] You're going to mention me. [00:32:16] They're going to call me, but I'm going to say, he never showed up. [00:32:20] But maybe that's different. [00:32:21] I don't know. [00:32:22] I don't understand any of this. [00:32:23] Throw that into the mix. [00:32:26] Pretty soon you're going to watch a morning news show and they're going to say, hey, where's Kaylee or Morgan or Dave? [00:32:34] Oh, he's not coming in anymore. [00:32:35] Why? [00:32:36] He doesn't want to. [00:32:37] He wants to do it from home in his pajamas. [00:32:39] What? [00:32:41] Where's Doc Mendelsohn? [00:32:50] No, I can't send him a picture. [00:32:51] Go to the emergency room. [00:32:52] Where is this? [00:32:56] Where is everybody? [00:32:57] They're not here. [00:33:01] I know I'm saying too much, and I know I'm giving you too much to think about. [00:33:05] I realize that. [00:33:07] And I have to ask myself sometimes, why am I doing this? [00:33:10] Why am I doing this? [00:33:12] Here's one thing. [00:33:13] When I talk about food supply and food emergencies, sometimes I get that look too.
