Liberty Hangout - Kaitlin Bennett - Kamala Fans Want to Take Your AR15 Aired: 2024-10-17 Duration: 05:24 === Why AR-15 Bans Don't Work (04:28) === [00:00:00] I mean there's bans on all types of stuff. [00:00:01] You can't have bombs, you can't have all types of things. [00:00:04] Weapons of mass destruction, I mean that's what I would consider one of those guns for sure. [00:00:09] So an AR-15 is a weapon of mass destruction. [00:00:11] What do you base that? [00:00:12] What do you base that definition or that category off of? [00:00:16] I mean just the fact that it can kill, you know, a large amount of people quickly. [00:00:20] I mean who cares about this stuff? [00:00:23] I care about people dying. [00:00:25] Well, what's your angle at it? [00:00:26] Who cares? [00:00:27] Who cares if people are dying? [00:00:30] No, like, yeah, I mean, who cares, really? [00:00:36] So are you guys familiar with Kamala Harris, who's running for president? [00:00:40] Yes. [00:00:40] What do you guys think about her? [00:00:42] She's alright. [00:00:44] Do you guys know about her plan to implement gun control and the form of banning all AR-15s by executive action if Congress doesn't do it within the first 100 days of taking office? [00:00:57] No. [00:00:59] No, now that I told you, would you guys support something like that? [00:01:03] Yeah. [00:01:04] Not sure yet. [00:01:06] So you said yes. [00:01:07] Why would you support that? [00:01:09] I don't know. [00:01:11] I'm just not, I mean, I'm not a big, I mean, just handguns is alright, but I mean, you gotta stop somewhere. [00:01:18] So you said handguns are okay, but AR-15s are not. [00:01:21] Yeah, I mean, just like, I mean, there's bans on all types of stuff. [00:01:25] You can't have bombs, you can't have all types of things. [00:01:28] Weapons of mass destruction, I mean, that's what I would consider one of those guns for sure. [00:01:32] So an AR-15 is a weapon of mass destruction. [00:01:35] What do you base that? [00:01:36] What do you base that definition or that category off of? [00:01:40] I mean, just the fact that it can kill, you know, a large amount of people quickly. [00:01:45] Do you think that AR-15s are the most commonly used weapon in mass shootings? [00:01:51] No, I don't think that really matters. [00:01:54] Okay. [00:01:55] I mean, it's just when they're used, I mean, when you hear about them being used, they're used to kill a lot of people. [00:02:01] You know what I'm saying? [00:02:03] Sometimes, yes. [00:02:05] Would you be willing to ban another type of firearm that is the cause for most homicides in this country? [00:02:12] I think it's more the fact that it can kill a lot more people. [00:02:15] You know what I'm saying? [00:02:16] Like, yeah, handguns probably, I mean, maybe knives, fights, stuff like that. [00:02:21] I mean, yeah, it kills, you know, probably a lot of people with the longer term, different, you know, single type people, but I don't know. [00:02:30] Well, actually, every year, more people are killed by knives than they are by rifles, by blunt objects than they are by rifles, cars than they are by rifles, drowning in a swimming pool than they are by rifles, handguns than they are by rifles. [00:02:43] So are rifles what we should be focused on? [00:02:46] Well, no, because that's just one person. [00:02:48] I mean, if somebody is, you know, the way you hear about, you know, AR-15s, if there's a shoot up at school or something like that, they have a knife, they're not going to be able to do as much as they can with something like that. [00:03:02] I mean, a knife, yeah, maybe it kills the most people, like you said, but that's just, you know, single altercations. [00:03:09] What about the people who defend their homes from burglars or they defend their children with AR-15s? [00:03:15] They hunt with AR-15s, they use it for self-protection. [00:03:19] What about those instances where lives are saved every year because of AR-15s? [00:03:24] I mean, what about that? [00:03:25] I mean, if it's banned, who cares? [00:03:27] That lives are saved? [00:03:28] No, they can still keep their guns. [00:03:30] If it's banned, who gives a they can still keep their stuff. [00:03:34] I mean, what are they going to do? [00:03:34] Come and steal it from? [00:03:36] Who cares? [00:03:36] Well, that is what the government does. [00:03:39] Right, but if you were smart, you would just keep it and you wouldn't say anything and you would be able to hold on to that forever. [00:03:43] Who cares? [00:03:44] So you're kind of showing that a ban doesn't even work. [00:03:47] Gun control doesn't work because you're saying we can ban it, but why wouldn't people just keep it anyway? [00:03:54] So you're kind of proving that gun control doesn't work, would you say? [00:03:57] No, I mean there's a decent amount of people that are going to be like, okay, I'm not going to, if they can't purchase it, they're not going to purchase it. [00:04:05] But if they can, you know, if they've already got it and there's people that want to keep it, like you said, whatever, they're going to keep it. [00:04:11] They're out in the middle of nowhere. [00:04:12] Who cares? === Why Care About Mass Shootings? (01:10) === [00:04:14] Okay, so a ban. [00:04:16] What I get from this is that a ban wouldn't work. [00:04:19] Can you tell me anything maybe that has been banned? [00:04:22] Drugs, drugs are banned. [00:04:25] Meth is banned, parawin's banned. [00:04:27] Do people still use that? [00:04:29] I mean, it's a different type of stuff. [00:04:32] Okay. [00:04:32] I mean, I don't really see what you're trying to get at. [00:04:35] Well, there's an epidemic with I mean, who cares about this stuff? [00:04:39] I care about people dying. [00:04:42] Well, what's your angle at it? [00:04:43] Who cares? [00:04:44] Who cares if people are dying? [00:04:46] No, like, yeah, I mean, who cares, really? [00:04:49] I care. [00:04:49] I care about all kinds of people dying, the unborn. [00:04:52] I care about them dying. [00:04:53] I care about people in mass shootings dying. [00:04:55] I care. [00:04:56] Why are you doing this, though? [00:04:57] Like, who? [00:04:57] Just getting people's questions. [00:04:59] I mean, we're gonna, we vote. [00:05:01] You guys vote? [00:05:02] Yeah. [00:05:03] Okay. [00:05:03] Well, then, I think that, um, I think your opinion is important. [00:05:06] I would like to, I mean, we're doing this for work here at Liberty Hangout. [00:05:10] So that's why we're doing it. [00:05:12] Liberty Hangout. [00:05:14] Yep. [00:05:15] Fair enough. [00:05:16] Cool. [00:05:17] Have a good day. [00:05:17] Well, I hope you guys find compassion for people that are dying. [00:05:21] So support my work.
