[00:00:35]  In Texas during South by Southwest, we're asking people, what do they think about no one really wearing a mask out here tonight?
[00:00:42]  We got large crowds, big lines.
[00:00:45]  Let's see what the vibe is.
[00:00:46]  Why is no one wearing a mask tonight?
[00:00:49]  Because everyone is crazy.
[00:00:51]  And everyone wants to pretend that life is normal.
[00:00:56]  And we're just gonna go with it.
[00:00:58]  I think we're all just gonna get COVID.

[00:01:01]  Most people are vaccinated.
[00:01:03]  I'm vaccinated times five.
[00:01:05]  So my hope is that people are not wearing masks because they feel protected themselves and they're hoping that as a community, everybody's vaccinated.
[00:01:16]  I think people feel less fear when they're outside, like I personally do.

[00:01:21]  So I just spoke with somebody a minute ago.
[00:01:23]  She said even inside, no one is really wearing a mask.

[00:01:28]  I feel like we're in Texas.
[00:01:30]  Texas was one of the first states that no one really wore masks, so I feel like everyone kind of followed suit.

[00:01:37]  I'm only kidding.
[00:01:38]  I've had so many boosters and shots.
[00:01:41]  If I were to take a drink of water right now, you'd see it spurt out of my arms and everything.
[00:01:46]  It's ridiculous.

[00:01:49]  They were very thorough about that.

[00:01:54]  Yeah, I have my mask in my pocket.
[00:01:57]  That's an interesting question because I actually was going to go to the 2020 South by Southwest and I deferred my tickets.
[00:02:05]  And I actually deferred them from last year because I didn't really feel safe going to South by Southwest with COVID still going on.

[00:03:40]  I know, obviously, that's not the majority's perspective, and to be fair, I don't really expect that in Texas.
[00:03:47]  But, you know, I'm going to still wear my mask, and as long as nobody gives me any crap, then it's fine.

[00:04:16]  I believe that people aren't concerned about it anymore.

[00:04:25]  I think people have figured out their own risk tolerance.
[00:04:29]  And decided to make their own choice of what they're willing to do.
[00:04:32]  I would say personally, I was concerned about mask wearing.
[00:04:36]  I mean, I don't wear a mask at home, but for some reason, the idea of a big crowd is making me nervous.
[00:04:40]  But I'm also like, we've got to move forward with life.
[00:04:43]  This is the reality of life right now, and just trusting everyone around me.

[00:04:49]  Yeah, I mean, it's definitely different from the past few years that we've been.

[00:04:54]  Be a part of this collective thing again, you know, to have a crowd of people all excited to see something.

[00:05:34]  I know that science has been moving as fast as it can for something that's so new, so I don't really want to give a specific answer on that.

[00:06:18]  I have to say I'm also a pediatrician, so you would expect that I am totally in favor of all vaccines, but COVID in particular.

[00:06:33]  It's an amazing technology.
[00:06:35]  It's incredible how quickly they're able to change that vaccine to meet the particular needs of whatever virus is now circulating.

[00:06:46]  So when I discovered that, I was like, you guys, it's all propaganda.
[00:06:51]  I think we've built up our immunity, for sure.
[00:06:55]  Can I assume that you both are fully vaccinated and fully boosted?

[00:07:02]  People are like, I'm not going to get a shot every year for COVID.
[00:07:05]  And I'm like, you do that with the flu.
[00:07:07]  But obviously some people don't do that with the flu.
[00:07:10]  I've heard like some people are like, yeah, I always get sick when I get the shot.
[00:07:13]  And I'm like, okay, that doesn't make any sense, but whatever.
[00:07:17]  That's a personal decision.
[00:07:20]  Could I assume that both of you are fully vaccinated, boosted?
[00:07:24]  Absolutely, yeah.

[00:07:28]  Maybe, because you can still get COVID even after you've been vaccinated and boosted.
[00:07:32]  Will you be quarantining whenever you go back to your home state?
[00:07:35]  Probably not intentionally.
[00:07:37]  I brought four test kits with us to make sure that we tested before we got on planes.
[00:07:41]  For sure, yeah.
[00:07:43]  And do you think everybody else here is as well?
[00:07:45]  I would guess, probably, yeah.
[00:07:48]  Well, COVID right now is more like the flu, so you know how you get your yearly vaccine, so that COVID is going to change every year.
[00:07:57]  Very boosted.
[00:07:59]  I was even just aware, I'm like, when did we most recently have COVID?
[00:08:03]  Like being on the plane, I was actually thinking about this.
[00:08:05]  I'm like, yeah, we were exposed recently.
[00:08:07]  I feel pretty good about antibodies where this is good.
[00:08:10]  Yeah, I'm definitely vaccinated and get your vaccinations.
[00:08:14]  We've never had a problem with vaccinations before COVID.
[00:08:17]  I don't understand why they're in problem now.
[00:08:19]  I'm immunocompromised, so I'm definitely fully boosted, and I think everybody should be.
[00:08:25]  It's very quick and painless.
[00:08:27]  No issues with needles, so if you have an issue with needles, I get it, but still, I'd rather be alive than, you know, so it's like, or very sick or, you know, whatever, so.
[00:08:38]  One of the boosters, but both of the Moderna shots, and then, you know, if I get the sniffles, I just call it allergies.
[00:08:45]  So if I Flonase and Zertag it up.
[00:08:48]  And hand sanitizer.
[00:08:49]  And I've been doing this to people.
[00:08:53]  I mean, I'm vaccinated and I'm feeling confident.
[00:08:57]  I'm hoping everybody is not sick coming.
[00:09:01]  So, yeah.
[00:09:02]  The consensus tonight is everyone's vaxxed and boosted and there's no real reason to wear a mask out here at South by Southwest this year.
