Time Text
And my point of view is that Richard Carrier's right, and it is a completely fabricated myth, and that all of this and the historical Jesus is all playing into this myth that he was real.
Because if he's a pure myth, you have to ask, what was the motive for creating this myth?
And if it's a pure myth and there was no guy, it looks like a lie.
It looks like a deception.
It looks like a big hoax.
And then you have to go, what was the motive for creating this hoax?
And none of these guys want to do that.
In fact, we'll play.
This is Dr. David Scurbina, who wrote the Jesus hoax.
I've had him on several times.
I hope to get him on again soon.
This is an interview from three years ago where he is explaining all of this, how all of these, even the mythicist scholars and all the biblical academic scholars, none of them wants to call a spade a spade and attribute any blame or any responsibility for this obvious lie.
I just did the debate the other day on modern day debates.
The title was, Is Christianity is a deception?
It absolutely is.
And then the next question is, who was behind the deception and why?
So listen to this from David Scurbina real quick, and then we'll get into the history channel.
The main thing, if I want to summarize for all three of those guys, what I think that they do not do, which I do, is to really get to the question of motives.
Right?
So we're all being skeptical about the Jesus story.
We really don't buy the myth.
And what's the motive?
They wanted the nations to be subjugated by the Messiah, that the nations would put their hope in the Messiah, that the Messiah would reign over them, that all the nations would worship the God of Israel.
That's the clear motive.
Nobody can dispute it.
But you see, when you go down and when you follow the facts where they go and you go down into this rabbit hole, it's not even blaming all Jews, but it is blaming that this is a Jewish deception.
It's a Jewish conspiracy, and that is off limits.
That is a no-go zone for all these academics.
They all know in their echo chamber, they all police each other.
They would lose their jobs if they said this.
Even though it's not implicating all Jews by any means.
Many Jews have suffered because of Christianity throughout history.
And this is three years ago now.
Miracles.
We don't really think he was the son of God.
We may be not sure whether he existed at all.
So my point, my basic argument is, well, look, somebody, Paul, or the gospel writers, or all of them, they constructed a story of a biblical Jesus, Son of God, which we all agree was not real.
And they passed that unreal story off as truth.
And to me, that's a lie.
That's a lie.
Christianity is a lie, plain and simple.
And it was a lie meant to rule in the land of thine enemies, rule like with the rod, bring them obedience and judgment to the nations.
They passed off fiction as fact.
They knew what they were doing, and they did it on purpose.
It was a deliberate lie.
And the question is, I think even they even sort of touch on this.
And Ehrman writes about forgeries and Carrier says they constructed these, fabricated these documents.
But the question was, why?
Who were they?
And why did they fabricate these things?
That's the motive behind what we're doing.
And Derek will say, you're an anti-Semite.
The idea, anything that could implicate that this is a Jewish deception, they go, that's a conspiracy theory, and we can't go there.
And that's anti-Semitic.
That should not be the issue.
Is this anti-Semitic or not?
It should be, is this true or not?
What's going on?
And that really completes the story.
And you look in these guys and you don't see anything.
There's no discussion about the motives about why Paul and the gospel writers fabricated these stories.
And if you don't mind me, regardless, Bart Ehrman, Dr. Ehrman, says exactly what you're saying here.
Technically, it's like, why would you write it?
If you know that they know that's not okay, it's not a good thing.
Why would you still write it?
And I just did a show with Dr. Bob on this.
It's kind of funny.
As I release these shows, he has a position where he's more sympathetic that, yeah, some of them are more charlatan and some of them.
So I'm interested to hear this total hoax position anyway.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, I'm really throwing it on these early writers.
And I don't think any of these guys, I haven't seen anyone short of Nietzsche, if we go back 120 years, none of these recent guys pin any blame on anybody.
And that really sort of drives me crazy, right?
I mean, somebody fabricated a story of a biblical Jesus, son of God, working miracles, raising the dead, which we would generally say, that's utter nonsense.
Somebody fabricated these stories, but nobody's to blame for anything.
If you read Ehrman and Price and Carrier, nothing that I've seen, maybe you know something.
Nobody is ever to blame for anything.
And to me, that's an outrageous fact.
These guys fabricated, lied through their teeth about these things.
There are a couple other possibilities.
We can talk about those later.
But basically, the evidence is they just lied.
They constructed these stories, passed them off as truth.
They knew they were false.
Why did they lie?
What was going on?
To me, that's like the real story here.
And none of these three guys, Ehrman, Price, or Carrier, will really talk about it at all, to my knowledge.
But MythVision and all his other sister channels, Gnostic Informant, History Valley, they love entertaining the idea that the Romans created Christianity as a subversion to subdue the Messianic Jews.
They'll entertain that all day.
But to go the other direction, which is the elephant in the room, it's the obvious truth staring everybody in the face, is that this is a Jewish religion.
Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, targeted the Gentiles.
The synoptic gospels were expanding on and based on Paul.
They're Pauline in nature.
They're about the Great Commission and the Centurion who was the best believer and going to the Gentiles.
This Christianity was not for the Jews.
It was for the Gentiles.
Siscombe says, I recommend watching this interview between MythVision and Jonathan Adler.
Adler argues that Judaism doesn't exist in the archaeological record into 140 BC and was invented as a justification to invade neighbors.
That's kind of like Russell Gamerkin, who's another scholar.
He says that Judaism was created based on Plato's noble lie in 275 BC when they created, translated, and created the canon in the Greek Septuagint.
All right.
So great job, Skurbina.
I want to get him back on to talk about this.
He says it.
