Now, the context of verse 33 is material and concerns money and financial matters.
Obviously, the verses that we read previous to verse 33 focuses on material things, food, clothing, job, security, the needs, the physical needs, etc.
So the context was material concerns and money.
Put Christ first in your financial life.
That is what the Lord is teaching us in Matthew chapter 6.
God says, put Christ first.
Do your tithing to him first before you pay your own bills and take care of your own family.
Pay him first, tithing to your 10% or more.
Jesus should be first in your money.
First in your finances.
Before the tax man, before the grocery store.
Jesus, he's the son of God.
He's the creator of the universe, but he needs your money.
Oh, you don't write your check out to Jesus, though.
You write your checkout to your pastor.
You write your checkout to the church.
Before anybody else, before the bills, put Jesus should be first in your money.
First in your finances.

That is what Jesus taught us in this passage.

Jesus instructed us regarding putting Christ first in our personal relationships.

Hate your own family and put Jesus first.
So say your family doesn't believe in Jesus.
