Andrew Klavan Show - My REACTION To The Trailers For These Upcoming Movies Aired: 2025-09-25 Duration: 13:09 === Trailer Teasers (06:04) === [00:00:00] All right, today, this doesn't sound too painful. [00:00:03] Usually these guys just they set me up here. [00:00:05] It's like a torture chamber, but this doesn't sound too bad. [00:00:07] We're going to be watching trailers of upcoming movies to see if anything interesting is happening. [00:00:22] Some of the movies were not as bad as the rest of the year, so maybe things were improving in the movie business. [00:00:28] We'll find out, or at least we'll find out how the trailers look. [00:00:31] Let's take a look at them. [00:00:32] That's the first one. [00:00:46] Won't you spare me over till another year? [00:00:50] for man a reason this is the holy grail this was dressed as a miracle It's just a murder. [00:01:06] An assault murders. [00:01:08] I'm open the door to heaven or hell. [00:01:12] All right, there's a sequel to Knives Out. [00:01:17] Look, that was a great trailer. [00:01:18] Really well done. [00:01:20] Yes. [00:01:23] I saw another sequel to Knives Out. [00:01:25] I think it was a TV movie or just a streaming movie, which was only okay. [00:01:29] It's so dumb. [00:01:31] It's so dumb. [00:01:32] It's brilliant. [00:01:33] No! [00:01:34] It's just dumb. [00:01:35] I really liked Knives Out. [00:01:37] And one of the things I found so charming about Knives Out is that younger people had never seen a movie like that before. [00:01:42] They'd never seen In Then There Were None or all the Agatha Christie movies. [00:01:45] And they were absolutely delighted by the idea of a bunch of suspects in a closed space. [00:01:50] Anyone could have done it in the detective finding out the way. [00:01:53] So hopefully this will be as good. [00:01:54] I really enjoyed it. [00:01:55] I thought the writing was good. [00:01:56] Rian Johnson was very talented. [00:02:04] Hopefully this will be as good as that. [00:02:06] Certainly a nice trailer. [00:02:07] By the way, speaking of nice things, this is brought to you by Helix Mattresses. [00:02:11] Helix Sleep Mattresses, go to helixsleep.com slash Claven for a great deal. [00:02:17] All right, let's watch another one. [00:02:20] What I'm doing here is I'm creating a closed circuit. [00:02:27] Very important to keep your cap shunted like this so you don't accidentally detonate your charge. [00:02:35] Don't stop. [00:02:36] I want you to create a show. [00:02:38] This is an announcement on Revolution. [00:02:42] The message is clear. [00:02:43] I'll be seeing you very soon. [00:02:45] How do I see you first? [00:02:47] Let's go! [00:02:51] We're bringing justice to the vigilante group known as the French 75. [00:02:56] You have to understand, Willa. [00:02:59] Me and mom used to run around and do some real bad shit. [00:03:05] They got hurt. [00:03:06] Now they're coming after us. [00:03:08] Sorry. [00:03:08] I didn't ask for this. [00:03:09] That's just how the cards were rolled out for me. [00:03:11] It's not cards. [00:03:12] You don't roll cards. [00:03:13] It's dice. [00:03:14] Dad, what is wrong with you? [00:03:16] You're right. [00:03:16] Let's go. [00:03:20] I got a tunnel! [00:03:21] All your mom's stuff. [00:03:31] From all my stuff. [00:03:32] Even though I know that's impossible. [00:03:35] This isn't the end of the line. [00:03:37] Not for you. [00:03:38] Tweet off, tweet off. [00:03:40] I love you. [00:03:41] I'ma keep on running cause a winner don't quit on themselves. [00:03:49] Whoa, who's this? [00:03:50] Oh, they're just my friends. [00:03:52] Now, is that a he or she or a they? [00:03:54] It's not that hard. [00:03:55] They, them. [00:03:56] I just want to be polite. [00:03:59] You know what freedom is? [00:04:01] No fear. [00:04:02] Just like Tom Cruise. [00:04:08] Well, I have to say that looked fairly entertaining, but a political violence drama starring Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio is probably going to be annoying. [00:04:18] But we never, you never know. [00:04:19] You never know. [00:04:19] I like Bonicio del Toro. [00:04:21] I like all of them. [00:04:21] Sean Penn is one of the great actors of his day. [00:04:24] Just happens to be a communist. [00:04:26] The guy who supports Hugo Chavez. [00:04:28] What can you say? [00:04:29] Why are you communist? [00:04:32] And Leonardo DiCaprio, always an entertaining actor. [00:04:36] And who knows? [00:04:38] Who knows? [00:04:38] Maybe it'll be better than we hope. [00:04:40] All right. [00:04:41] Another one. [00:04:43] All right. [00:05:27] That was not a good trailer. [00:05:29] Didn't really make me excited, but it's by the director of Old Boy, which is a really good film. [00:05:34] If you've never seen Old Boy, that's worth seeing. [00:05:36] So I will withhold judgment. [00:05:38] I'm going to withhold. [00:05:38] You know, it's funny. [00:05:40] I used to know a guy who made trailers for a living. [00:05:42] They're really hard to make. [00:05:43] You would think that they're not, but basically, they're based on reducing you to a baby. [00:05:48] They're all close-ups of faces showing emotions and then things blowing up. [00:05:51] So that's the way babies react to things. [00:05:53] They see faces. [00:05:54] That's what they mostly see. [00:05:55] And then other things just make them startled. [00:05:57] And that's the way trailers work. [00:05:58] They treat you as if you're about six months old. [00:06:02] And that one was just not a very good one. === Horror Trailers Fail? (07:05) === [00:06:04] It didn't engage you. [00:06:06] But Old Boy was a good movie. [00:06:07] So maybe this one is as well. [00:06:08] So I'll withhold judgment again. [00:06:11] You know, a few weeks ago, I actually slept through the night. [00:06:14] It was like a shocking experience. [00:06:16] You know what I kind of missed? [00:06:17] I kind of missed the comfort of my Helix Sleep mattress. [00:06:20] I love my Helix Sleep mattress. [00:06:21] And though I lie awake all night, because that's just who I am, I can lie awake thinking, well, at least I'm comfortable. [00:06:26] You guys, you probably, if you lie on a helix sleep mattress, it's so comfortable, you'll probably fall asleep and miss the entire experience. [00:06:33] One thing I've loved about my Helix mattress is how well it does with temperature regulation, which really eases some of those annoying middle-of-the-night wake-ups. [00:06:41] That was really important during the summer, but it's always important. [00:06:44] And it's easy to connect the mattress to other wearable devices so you can actually see the data to back up your sleep improvements each night. [00:06:51] No more questioning. [00:06:52] What makes Helix different is they don't just sell you a random mattress. [00:06:56] They actually match you with the perfect one for your body and sleep style. [00:07:00] Whether you're a side sleeper, back sleeper, or a non-sleeper like myself, they have got you covered. [00:07:05] All you have to do is take their sleep quiz and find your ideal match. [00:07:08] And trust me, when you find the right match, you will wonder whoever slept or lay awake on anything else. [00:07:14] Right now is actually the perfect time to upgrade your sleep because Helix is still offering a fantastic Labor Day sale. [00:07:20] Go to helix sleep.com slash Claven to get 27% off site-wide. [00:07:26] That's helixleep.com/slash Claven for 27% off site-wide. [00:07:30] Make sure you enter our show name after checkout so they know we sent you helixleep.com slash claven. [00:07:37] And until you get the mattress and you can't sleep, you can think to yourself, well, how would I spell claven? [00:07:42] There are no E's in Claven. [00:07:43] This is a hint. [00:07:44] I just make it look this easy. [00:07:48] Hello. [00:07:49] Hey, it's Marty Mauser. [00:07:50] I'm in the Royal Suite. [00:07:51] I saw you in the lobby yesterday. [00:07:53] Okay. [00:07:54] Whoa. [00:07:54] Didn't ever talk to an actual movie star. [00:07:56] You know, I'm something of a performer too. [00:07:58] Are you? [00:07:59] Yeah, you don't believe me? [00:08:04] I have a purpose. [00:08:06] But if you think that's some sort of blessing, it's not it. [00:08:08] It means I have an obligation to see a very specific thing through, and with that obligation comes sacrifice. [00:08:14] But I'm telling you, this game at Phil Stadiums overseas. [00:08:18] And it's only a matter of time before I'm staring at you from the cover of a Wheaties box. [00:08:46] I'm not trying to control you, Marty. [00:08:48] It's unacceptable. [00:08:49] It's unacceptable. [00:08:50] But I don't think you understand the stakes. [00:08:52] You have no power here. [00:09:01] What do you plan to do if this whole dream of yours doesn't work out? [00:09:04] doesn't even enter my consciousness. [00:09:15] All right. [00:09:16] That's Timothy Chalamet playing ping pong. [00:09:19] It could be all right. [00:09:20] You know, I like sports movies, and ping pong did have a moment in the sun when they discovered that the entire country of China liked watching it. [00:09:28] They're bringing it up for Christmas, which means they have a lot of faith in it. [00:09:30] That's a picture I would go to see if it got great reviews, and people I knew and trusted liked it. [00:09:35] So, interesting. [00:09:36] These are pretty serious pictures. [00:09:38] You know, it's interesting. [00:09:39] All through the summer, when I would go to the movies, there was nothing coming down the pike but horror movies. [00:09:44] Everything was horror movies, and all the trailers of horror movies are exactly the same. [00:09:48] There's that pause, and then something jumps out at you. [00:09:54] Which is what I hate most about horror movies, is things jumping out at me. [00:09:58] So this is interesting that these are serious. [00:10:01] I guess this is the kind of awards movies coming out for the autumn. [00:10:05] And that's when, yeah, I would watch Timothy Shalom play ping pong. [00:10:09] good actor. [00:10:23] And I like competition movies. [00:10:26] So let's see. [00:10:26] All right, one more. [00:10:28] Probably looking at my eyes. [00:10:30] How did that happen? [00:10:31] Have you ever heard of the ultimate fighting championship, the UFC? [00:10:37] That's the bloody thing they're trying to ban. [00:10:40] This guy is the best he has ever seen. [00:10:44] Do you hate each other when you fight? [00:10:47] Absolutely not. [00:10:51] How do you know, Mark Kirk? [00:10:52] The end is new. [00:10:53] Oh, we go way back. [00:10:55] Welcome in his Octagon debut! [00:10:58] Mark Kirk! [00:11:02] Winning is the best feeling there is. [00:11:06] It's 40,000 people. [00:11:07] And they're cheering you off. [00:11:10] There's no other highlight in the world. [00:11:14] No contract, no money? [00:11:16] No money. [00:11:17] Do you have any stronger pain medication? [00:11:21] Adabil? [00:11:23] Advil? [00:11:23] Yeah. [00:11:28] It's simple. [00:11:29] Am I going to hurt him before he hurts me? [00:11:32] Best never. [00:11:37] I'll show you. [00:11:42] He has come back from the break. [00:11:44] Let's see if he can pull out a victory over Mark Coleman. [00:11:49] Have you spoken to either about fighting such a good friend or life-changing amount of money? [00:11:55] I just need you to let me in. [00:11:57] I typical. [00:11:59] Always about you. [00:12:21] That's Dwayne Johnson trying to win an Oscar, playing a fighter. [00:12:26] Emily Blunt, always great. [00:12:28] Yeah, I'll probably go to see that. [00:12:29] You know, the thing about Dwayne Johnson, you know, he's always in action films and all this stuff. [00:12:33] And he's charming. [00:12:35] He's got a lot of charm. [00:12:36] But he was in a show called Ballers, I think it was on HBO. [00:12:40] I watched it for a couple of seasons, and it was a good show, and he was really good in it. [00:12:44] He played a washed-up football player who became a sports agent, and he was really believable. [00:12:49] He must think he has it in him to deliver. [00:12:51] You know, he would take the Oscars off guard, so he'd probably have a good shot at it. [00:12:55] So, yeah, and I like watching fight movies, and so they look pretty good. [00:13:00] I would say of all of those movies, that's the one I'm most likely to turn up for. [00:13:05] So that's what we have to look forward to. [00:13:06] And mostly, I'll be, you know, obviously I'll be watching TV.
