Knowledge Fight - We'll Be Back On Monday Aired: 2020-06-12 Duration: 07:10 === Tiramisu Cravings (06:54) === [00:00:00] I'm a policy wonk. [00:00:01] Hey everybody, Dan here. [00:00:02] Hi, I'm Jordan. [00:00:04] Hey, how's it going, buddy? [00:00:05] I am also here. [00:00:06] I just wanted to take a quick little moment to give you a little bit of a heads up that we are taking this Friday off from an episode, but we will be back on Monday. [00:00:14] There's just so much to get handled in terms of the move. [00:00:18] Moving is nuts. [00:00:18] Yeah, I mean, a lot of it I was able to take care of and gradually do, but there's, you know, you always get blindsided by various things, like so much... [00:00:28] So many accounts to move over, like utilities and stuff. [00:00:31] It's a lot. [00:00:33] So I'm just going to take a one-off me day here, but we'll be back. [00:00:38] Absolutely. [00:00:38] I think that's a great idea. [00:00:40] You should definitely take the day off. [00:00:42] It pains me. [00:00:43] And for God's sakes, clean off your soundboard. [00:00:46] For God's sakes, get that compressed air for once. [00:00:49] You're a dick! [00:00:50] Damn it! [00:00:52] Tell me what to do with my soundboard, because if you do... [00:00:56] Damn it! [00:00:57] Don't tell me what to do. [00:01:00] In the move, I'll dust that stuff off. [00:01:03] It pains me. [00:01:05] I wish we could do a stupid episode. [00:01:09] We'll be back on Monday and everything. [00:01:11] Thank you to everybody who's been so supportive and kind about... [00:01:15] Telling me to take a week off. [00:01:18] And just people being excited for the new place and the new pet. [00:01:23] Yes, we are all very excited. [00:01:24] The new animal friend. [00:01:24] Which I think I've made a decision on which will be forthcoming. [00:01:28] Ooh, now you're teasing? [00:01:29] I'm not teasing because I haven't fully made this decision, but I'm leaning very heavily in one direction that will actually shock the world. [00:01:36] The announcement will come. [00:01:37] Shock the world. [00:01:39] Yes. [00:01:40] Anyway, the Seltzer website has been updated. [00:01:43] Ooh! [00:01:43] Here's something we can do. [00:01:44] What's that? [00:01:45] What's that? [00:01:45] I know people love my food reviews, so let's do a little bit of a food conversation. [00:01:50] Okay. [00:01:50] All right. [00:01:50] What do you got? [00:01:51] I had two foods. [00:01:52] Two foods. [00:01:52] I tried this last week or so. [00:01:54] Good and bad. [00:01:55] No. [00:01:55] Well, I don't know. [00:01:56] Maybe. [00:01:58] I expected both to be terrible. [00:02:00] Sure. [00:02:00] One. [00:02:01] Yes. [00:02:02] Pop-Tarts. [00:02:03] Pop-Tarts. [00:02:03] Which kind? [00:02:04] Fruit Loops. [00:02:06] Fruit Loops? [00:02:06] Get the fuck out of here. [00:02:07] I found a single pack at the corner store. [00:02:11] There shouldn't even have been that many. [00:02:12] I agreed. [00:02:14] I don't like Pop-Tarts to begin with. [00:02:16] I think they're trash. [00:02:18] I hate them. [00:02:19] I think they're a bad way to have food delivered to your mouth. [00:02:24] I think most of them are glorified candy or whatever. [00:02:28] Those ones that are like fucking hot fudge sundae. [00:02:31] Yeah, I know. [00:02:32] They're bananas. [00:02:33] Although I will eat those for dessert, maybe. [00:02:35] Cinnamon brown sugar is the only way to go. [00:02:37] As a breakfast, no good. [00:02:39] Maybe a s'more. [00:02:40] Fruit punch. [00:02:41] Fruit loops. [00:02:42] Super crazy, though. [00:02:43] I can't resist the call of that. [00:02:45] Yeah, your addiction to novelty is beyond me. [00:02:47] So I grabbed them and I heated them up. [00:02:50] I expected it to be terrible. [00:02:51] How'd you heat them up? [00:02:52] Toaster? [00:02:52] Toaster oven. [00:02:54] Toaster oven? [00:02:54] Toaster oven. [00:02:55] And then I did what I always do with Pop-Tart to just cut off the edges because it's too much of the pastry and it's gross. [00:03:01] So got rid of those edges. [00:03:03] That's a detail I didn't know about you. [00:03:05] What? [00:03:05] Did I cut the edges off of Pop-Tart? [00:03:07] It's too much of that gross pastry. [00:03:10] No. [00:03:11] No. [00:03:11] Not eat that. [00:03:13] So I cut the edges off. [00:03:15] Really good. [00:03:16] Really good. [00:03:17] I hate to say it. [00:03:18] Really good. [00:03:19] Well, I mean, not really good. [00:03:20] I don't want it for breakfast, but it was shockingly close to Froot Loops. [00:03:25] Yeah. [00:03:25] Really? [00:03:25] Because the flavor of the inside, the filling... [00:03:28] Was gooey? [00:03:29] Yeah, but it tasted like a Froot Loop. [00:03:33] Right. [00:03:33] And then because of the frosting on top, that recreated the sort of sugary vibe of the Froot Loop. [00:03:40] I thought it was very accurate to a Froot Loop. [00:03:42] Really? [00:03:43] And I felt really ashamed afterwards because I was like... [00:03:45] Oh, you guys nailed it. [00:03:46] You sat out to make a Fruit Loop Pop-Tart and you did. [00:03:49] Gotta give it to you. [00:03:50] I gotta give it up to those Somali pirates. [00:03:52] Very accurate. [00:03:54] See, I don't like that. [00:03:56] I don't like transforming texture. [00:03:57] I don't like the same taste turning into a different texture. [00:04:00] I need the taste and the texture to match up. [00:04:01] If I taste a Fruit Loop, it better be crunchy. [00:04:04] I can't have it turn into chewy. [00:04:05] I don't disagree with you as a whole, but I went in expecting garbage and it wasn't that bad, so I applaud them. [00:04:14] Perfect. [00:04:14] Second thing. [00:04:15] Second thing. [00:04:16] New Oreo on the scene that I found. [00:04:19] Tiramisu. [00:04:20] Tiramisu Oreo? [00:04:21] Who are these people? [00:04:22] They're crazy. [00:04:23] Where are we coming from? [00:04:24] So here's what happened. [00:04:26] I thought this was very exciting. [00:04:29] Yes. [00:04:29] I got it home. [00:04:32] Grabbed one of these Oreos out. [00:04:33] Yeah. [00:04:34] As I was eating it, I realized I don't think I've ever had Tiramisu. [00:04:40] You don't think you've ever had Tiramisu? [00:04:42] No. [00:04:42] I don't think so. [00:04:43] Really? [00:04:44] I thought that I had. [00:04:44] Never? [00:04:45] Not at a wedding? [00:04:45] I don't think so. [00:04:46] Not at somewhere? [00:04:47] Not that I can remember. [00:04:48] Okay. [00:04:49] Did it taste like a tiramisu? [00:04:51] That's the question I can't answer. [00:04:52] Did it taste good? [00:04:54] Not great. [00:04:54] Tastes fine. [00:04:55] Well, that's about what a tiramisu tastes like. [00:04:57] Kind of coffee-ish? [00:04:58] Yeah. [00:04:58] Is that the vibe of a tiramisu? [00:04:59] Basically. [00:05:00] Yeah, okay. [00:05:00] It's not great. [00:05:01] No. [00:05:01] No. [00:05:02] Nobody's ever been like, God, I need a tiramisu right now. [00:05:04] I have heard that from people before. [00:05:06] When? [00:05:07] It's been a while. [00:05:07] Yeah. [00:05:09] God, I need a tiramisu. [00:05:10] It's 4 a.m. [00:05:12] I just got out of the bar. [00:05:13] I just need a tiramisu right now, guys. [00:05:15] For a cannoli. [00:05:17] Yeah, it was a really interesting experience for me to have that realization mid-Oreo that I haven't had what this is pretending to be. [00:05:26] You have no frame of reference for it. [00:05:28] No, certainly not. [00:05:28] Could be dead on, could be alive. [00:05:30] I could give the middle finger to the Swedish Fish Oreo because I've had Swedish Fish before. [00:05:34] I'm aware of what that's going to be. [00:05:36] There's a Swedish Fish Oreo. [00:05:37] Oreo? [00:05:38] Yeah, I made you eat one. [00:05:39] Oh, that's right. [00:05:40] It was a ways back. [00:05:40] Wow, yeah, no, you're right. [00:05:43] Or what was the other one? [00:05:45] The one that had like Pop Rocks in it. [00:05:48] Oh, that one was gross. [00:05:49] I enjoyed that. [00:05:49] You liked that one? [00:05:50] I like Pop Rocks. [00:05:51] I don't like Pop Rocks. [00:05:52] Okay. [00:05:53] I don't like Pop Rocks alone. [00:05:55] Right. [00:05:56] Incorporated into something like an Oreo, it's pretty exciting. [00:05:59] No. [00:06:00] Pretty exciting. [00:06:01] Pop Rocks is just a sprinkle that pisses me off. [00:06:03] Okay. [00:06:04] It's an aggressive sprinkle. [00:06:05] It's an aggressive sprinkle. [00:06:06] So here's the deal. [00:06:07] Yes. [00:06:08] Fruit Loop Pop-Tart. [00:06:10] I don't even know how to rate these. [00:06:12] I would say what it is is it exceeded my expectations and pleasantly surprised me. [00:06:17] And if I were giving advice to people who are trying to find like weird novelty food. [00:06:21] Sure. [00:06:22] If you're interested in that, give it a shot because it does not disappoint. [00:06:25] Okay, good. [00:06:25] If you really like tiramisu. [00:06:28] Uh-huh. [00:06:28] I don't know. [00:06:29] Try one. [00:06:30] Maybe it's like tiramisu. [00:06:31] I couldn't tell you. [00:06:32] If you don't like tiramisu, maybe try one. [00:06:34] It doesn't taste like tiramisu. [00:06:36] Who knows? [00:06:36] I have no idea. [00:06:37] Maybe it tastes like a regular Oreo with a little bit of coffee. === Huge Fan On Air (00:31) === [00:06:39] Maybe. [00:06:40] I don't know. [00:06:41] Anyway, this has been my novelty food review. [00:06:44] And Jordan, if you didn't enjoy that... [00:06:46] You're a jerk! [00:06:49] We've got to get out of here. [00:06:50] Yeah, we do. [00:06:51] So we'll be back, but thanks for your patience, everyone out there. [00:06:54] We really appreciate it, and once we're all settled in, everything will be so spectacular, and there will be a new pet, and we'll talk to you soon. [00:07:01] Right? [00:07:01] Yes, we will. [00:07:02] Okay. [00:07:03] Andy in Kansas, you're on the air. [00:07:04] Thanks for holding. [00:07:07] Hello, Alex. [00:07:07] I'm a first-time caller. [00:07:08] I'm a huge fan. [00:07:09] I love your work.
