[00:02:29] Alex Jones' first ad that was a contingent part of him getting a radio show was his dad's dental practice. [00:02:35] And so that's how he came into being. [00:02:37] But he didn't really make it big outside of the Austin market, where people thought he was kind of a crazy yeller. [00:02:44] Because he was. [00:02:45] That hasn't changed. [00:02:47] He would go out in public with bullhorns and make a big spectacle of himself and scream about banks and what have you. [00:02:53] That was sort of his modus operandi. [00:02:55] And because he was this crazy public figure, that's why Richard Linklater, who was an Austin filmmaker at the time, ended up putting him in Waking Life and then Scanner Darkly a little bit down the road. [00:03:07] where he played characters very similar to himself. [00:03:10] Crazy street preachers. [00:03:12] In Waking Life, he's a guy yelling in a bullhorn driving around in a car. [00:03:16] It's a stretch for him. [00:03:18] But he's yelling a bunch of stuff back then that I actually am kind of cool with because they're all about human potential and stuff like that. [00:03:24] He's screaming about how the indomitable spirit of humanity is great. [00:03:28] He just leaves out all the globalist stuff. [00:03:42] He was probably still getting his PhD in chiropractic at that point. [00:04:18] Anyway, it's irrelevant. [00:04:20] He has a PhD from a chiropractic school, which isn't a real PhD. [00:04:24] And then he has a bunch of other bullshit degrees in homeopathic medicine that aren't real also. [00:04:29] He has a degree in magic. [00:04:31] But Anthony Gucciardi and Alex have this chat about how Dr. Group is trying to make up for the evils of his father. [00:04:39] Apparently, Dr. Group's dad created a bunch of these things that are toxifying the atmosphere. [00:04:48] So, Dr. Group finds out about this and turns on his dad. [00:04:55] No! [00:04:55] No! [00:04:57] This is a Luke Skywalker situation? [00:05:00] Yeah, so he dedicates his life to creating products that undo the damage that his father has done to humanity! [00:05:07] It's crazy! [00:05:08] It's so crazy! [00:05:12] So his dad was ostensibly a real scientist. [00:05:16] Probably. [00:05:16] And he became a doctor of... [00:05:20] Boner pills. [00:05:39] Or if they were smoking weed with Dr. Group and he just told them that and they're like, oh, he's so cool. [00:05:45] He's so cool. [00:05:46] Also, I found evidence from 2015 that Alex Jones is not lying about smoking weed once a year. [00:05:54] What? [00:05:54] That came out in his divorce case. [00:05:57] Wait, that's a true thing? [00:05:58] He said in court during the custody case that he smokes weed once a year to test the potency. [00:06:03] No, I knew that. [00:06:03] He said the exact same thing in 2015. [00:06:06] That's crazy. [00:06:07] He says he smokes weed once a year to check in on it, see what's going on with it, see what it does to people. [00:06:12] That's crazy. [00:06:13] He's like, I don't like weed. [00:06:14] Turns out, I try it, I don't like it. [00:06:16] It's nuts. [00:06:17] It's nuts that that isn't something that just came out of his mouth. [00:06:20] He's been saying it for years. [00:06:23] So anyway, Dr. Group is full of shit. [00:06:25] Point is, he's not selling boner pills in Waking Life. [00:06:28] Yes. [00:06:29] So that's how he sort of, you know, that's why he's in movies. [00:06:32] Right. [00:06:33] Because he's a fucking lunatic and it's fun to listen to a fucking lunatic. [00:06:36] Yeah. [00:06:37] But the reason that he ever broke through in conspiracy theory communities and the reason that he got this elevated status as the champion of conspiracies, what made it really break was that he put out a video where he showed breaking into and infiltrating Bohemian Grove in the hills of California. [00:06:59] I believe it's in the north. [00:07:02] The North Coast area. [00:07:04] So anyway, that was in 2000. [00:07:07] Allegedly, he infiltrated on July 15, 2000. [00:07:11] And he made the biggest fucking deal out of it. [00:07:14] He made a video, started selling it. [00:07:17] This is sort of the beginning of his documentary Empire. [00:07:20] He started getting a lot of attention for it because it was this mysterious place where powerful people go. [00:07:26] And Alex Jones, he sells himself as the only person who's been able to break in Right. [00:07:32] And the hallmark of it, the big coup de grace, is he got footage of the cremation of care ceremony, which is the most famous part of the video. [00:07:42] It's the part that everyone who's seen it, it's the part they remember, because the rest of it's fucking bullshit. [00:07:48] It's a video of a giant stone owl where they burn a figure in effigy. [00:07:54] And he portrays it as a satanic ceremony where they're killing a baby, all this shit. [00:07:59] Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:08:01] The realities of the actual ceremony are very different, but we'll get to that in a minute. [00:08:06] He presented it as like, hey, I went in. [00:08:10] Snuck in. [00:08:11] I went into the den of vipers. [00:08:13] Secret agent style. [00:08:13] I went in there with a camera and I fucking got it. [00:08:18] I got it and they can't deny it. [00:08:20] Right. [00:08:22] Here's why he's busted. [00:08:23] Oh no, he's busted? [00:08:25] His entire career is based on a lie? [00:08:28] Yes. [00:08:28] That makes perfect sense according to all the stuff I know about him. [00:08:32] I've done a bit of looking into the realities of the situation, and I'm here to say that I don't believe for a second his version of the story. [00:08:42] Okay. [00:08:43] At all. [00:08:44] Okay. [00:08:44] So I have posted, and I'll put a link to this, I've posted links to some of the videos. [00:08:51] That are important to the evidence. [00:08:53] Some people, some internet sleuths have done some really good work on this. [00:08:57] Okay. [00:08:57] But the more important pieces are Alex Jones claims that he is the one who exposed Bohemian Grove. [00:09:05] And before that, no one knew about it. [00:09:07] And it was this shadowy place where really powerful elites went. [00:09:10] And I would like to play this news report from 1981. [00:09:15] Now a question. [00:09:16] What have Herbert Hoover, Art Linkletter, Jack London, and Richard Nixon all had in common? [00:09:22] Well, they've all been members of the exclusive all-male Bohemian Club in California, where every year at this time, the elite from around the country get together for two and a half weeks of fun and games. [00:09:33] Steve Shepard has this special assignment report. [00:09:36] More than 2,000 members of San Francisco's exclusive and all-male Bohemian Club... [00:09:44] God, I love you, 80s news. [00:09:47] Yeah, it's great. [00:09:48] It's actual news. [00:09:51] Yeah. [00:09:56] The Grove is the Bohemian Club's summer retreat, and its facilities are hidden beneath lush forest canopy extending south from the banks of Sonoma County's Russian River. [00:10:11] For more than a century, the camp has been a place where club members and guests from all across America gather to relax. [00:10:17] The retreat is divided into... [00:10:19] There is a reason that we don't watch 80s news anymore, isn't there? [00:10:23] Yeah, it goes on for about... [00:10:24] Bohemian Grove walks down 30 miles from over here. [00:10:28] You know why? [00:10:28] Because it has information in it. [00:10:30] Yeah, I know. [00:10:31] It goes into... [00:10:32] It takes, like... [00:10:33] It's a five-minute piece. [00:10:34] There's footage inside the Bohemian Grove area. [00:10:38] He talks to people. [00:10:39] In the Bohemian Grove? [00:10:41] That's 19... [00:10:42] Well, not while all the stuff's going on. [00:10:44] No, but people who are part of the... [00:10:46] Yeah, ostensibly. [00:10:47] And that's 19 years before Alex Jones broke in. [00:10:50] Wow. [00:10:50] So that's one piece that's taken away from his, I exposed this shit. [00:10:55] Right. [00:10:55] They're straight up on the news talking about how the elites go here. [00:10:59] And this is from way back even when fucking Richard Nixon and Herbert Hoover could be involved with it. [00:11:04] Yeah. [00:11:04] So this has been going on for, what, 70 years? [00:11:07] It started a long time ago. [00:11:09] It started like a hundred something years ago. [00:11:11] I can't remember exactly. [00:11:13] Also, the weird thing about 80s news is that they can just say all male, and that's fine. [00:11:19] Yeah. [00:11:27] So, more fascinating little pieces of Alex being completely wrong are that in 1989, which, if you're counting, is 11 years before Alex Jones broke in, a journalist named Philip Weiss, reporting for Spy Magazine, infiltrated Bohemian Grove for six days. [00:11:48] No shit! [00:11:50] Six days he was there. [00:11:51] Just hanging out? [00:11:52] I would like to read a couple of excerpts from his column. [00:11:54] So this is from Philip Weiss' article, and I quote, For me, the trick was getting in. [00:11:59] A guest card was out of the question. [00:12:01] Club bylaws have stated that a member sponsor's application, quote, shall be in writing and shall contain full information for the guidance of the board in determining the merits and qualifications of the proposed guest. [00:12:12] No, Section 8, Article 18 was too fine a screen for me, and my attempts to get a job as a waiter or a valet in one of the camps failed. [00:12:20] In the end, I entered by stealth. [00:12:22] Some observers of the Grove have warned that security was too good. [00:12:26] They'd sniff me out immediately. [00:12:27] I might last three hours before they put me in Santa Rosa jail for trespassing. [00:12:32] Lowell Bergman... [00:12:33] A producer with 60 Minutes who used to hunt rabbits in the nearby hills remembered a fire road leading into a site near the Guernasville Waste Treatment Plant but said they'd spot me sneaking in. [00:12:43] Others mentioned barbed wire and electronic monitoring devices at places where the grove abuts Mount Rio and helicopters patrolling the ridge roads that traverse the thousand-foot hills and form the grove's perimeter. [00:12:54] This is when we find out he just fucking walked in, isn't it? [00:12:57] One day, I drove up to the front gate and got a daunting glimpse of what looked like the grove sheriff. [00:13:01] A barrel-like figure in a Smokey the Bear hat. [00:13:04] A set of checkpoints on the Berlin Wall seemed to stretch out behind him. [00:13:07] But by then, I'd made my connection. [00:13:10] My driver was Mary Moore, an Earth Mother type with long silvery blonde hair, who's the most active member of a distinctively Californian left-wing group called the Bohemian Grove Action Network. [00:13:20] Moore agreed to help me get in, providing me with a sort of underground railroad. [00:13:24] She put at my service a mountain guide who demanded only that I keep the methods he devised for me confidential. [00:13:30] He had a keen geographical sense, and a girlfriend who described a plan to seed magic crystals at the Grove gates and make them open up of their own accord so the Native American drummers could walk in. [00:13:39] We didn't do it that way. [00:13:43] This guy's a great writer. [00:13:44] That's a great punchline. [00:13:46] Yeah. [00:13:46] That's a great punchline. [00:13:47] We didn't do it that way. [00:13:48] But it turned out that Grove security isn't quite what it's reputed to be. [00:13:52] The sociologists who had studied the place were right. [00:13:54] There was no real security. [00:13:57] So, there's that. [00:14:00] Okay. [00:14:01] So the real security is the legend. [00:14:03] That's what the real security is. [00:14:05] Yeah, or it's probably a lot of security if you try and go in through the direct front gate. [00:14:10] Right. [00:14:10] But there's not snipers posted and shit like that. [00:14:12] No, of course not. [00:14:13] So, like I said, he stayed there for days and just hung out and did all the stuff along with them. [00:14:19] And one of the things that he said is that the key to his disguise was always have a drink in hand. [00:14:24] Because everybody's drinking. [00:14:26] Everyone's just drunk. [00:14:27] There's people passed out in bushes. [00:14:29] Right. [00:14:29] He just describes it essentially as being a crazy, super powerful, rich people summer camp. [00:14:36] Yeah. [00:14:36] And we'll get back to that in a second. [00:14:40] Like, he had to have a reason to be there. [00:14:42] Yeah. [00:14:42] So here's what he did. [00:14:43] My imposter included misrepresenting myself in conversation with other campers, and my story kept changing as I learned more about how life inside was organized. [00:14:51] I said I was a guest of Bromley camp, where unsortable visitors end up. [00:14:55] At 33, I was one of the youngest Bohemians, but I was welcome almost as a policy matter. [00:15:01] Quote, we looked around and saw we were becoming an old men's club, a member said, explaining recent efforts to recruit fresh blood. [00:15:08] Being from New York was fine. === Losing Control Time (03:41) === [00:15:10] The Grove limits retreat guests to out-of-staters. [00:15:13] Though clamoring by well-connected Californians to visit the forest, Not sure what that means. [00:15:20] I don't know what that means either. [00:15:22] Sounds racist! [00:15:26] No one inside acted suspicious, but paranoia about the groves seemed justified, and I brought along my own version of cyanide, Interol, a tranquilizer used by actors to counteract stage fright. [00:15:39] One day a member asked if I was related to a bohemian named Jack Weiss. [00:15:44] No, but I've heard a lot about him and I'd like to meet him. [00:15:47] You can't, he said. [00:15:48] He's dead! [00:15:49] After that, I began working a dead West Coast relative's promise to have me out to the Grove one summer into my shaggy dog story about an invitation. [00:15:57] Very nice. [00:15:58] So basically, he's in the mix. [00:16:00] He's just hanging out with these people and hanging out, drinking with these super powerful people. [00:16:05] No one sniffs him out. [00:16:06] He ends up bringing a camera on the last day because he's like, if I get kicked out, whatever, this is my last day here. [00:16:12] Yeah, too late now. [00:16:13] So yeah, he ends up... [00:16:14] Too late now, motherfuckers. [00:16:15] You can't catch me. [00:16:15] He ends up hanging out with them. [00:16:17] He goes to the cremation of care ceremony that Alex Jones videotapes and misrepresents as some sort of a satanic thing. [00:16:24] And the reality of it is that the cremation of care ceremony is this thing where you have all these super powerful people who have crazy stressful lives. [00:16:33] It's much the same as really rich people often go to dominatrixes to get the power taken away, have a symbolic power exchange. [00:16:44] For somebody who's in control all the time, nothing is more tantalizing than losing that control. [00:16:50] Exactly. [00:16:51] And in this case, these people have such scrutinized lives and such stress that they go to this place where they can privately let loose, maybe do some gay stuff, get drunk all the time. [00:17:02] Put on little musical numbers, have people give speeches, and that's basically a lot of what goes on there. [00:17:09] There's a lot of politics discussion that goes on now, too, much more than originally. [00:17:15] It's a Borgia party. [00:17:17] Yeah, more or less. [00:17:18] And so the cremation of care ceremony is where you have a manifestation of care who comes in, which is what is burned in effigy eventually. [00:17:27] And it is this idea of the stresses and the cares of the outside world, and they bring it in on a boat, a pontoon boat, to this ritual space in front of the giant owl of wisdom, the giant owl Moloch. [00:17:42] God, I hate rich people. [00:17:44] Who is voiced by Walter Cronkite. [00:17:47] And so they have this ritualistic play wherein all of the cares of the outside world are burned in front of this owl of wisdom. [00:17:55] And it's only able to be burned by the everlasting flame that never goes out throughout the entire week's long celebration. [00:18:03] It's a bunch of rich people LARPing in a sex romp. [00:18:06] And a summer camp. [00:18:07] Yeah. [00:18:07] And I think it's fucking awesome. [00:18:09] I think it sounds amazing. [00:18:10] It sounds fucking stupid, but I want to go and get shit-faced. [00:18:14] I would go in a heartbeat. [00:18:16] If I could have gone at some point. [00:18:30] Yeah, so those are two things that happened over a decade before Alex ostensibly, allegedly revealed it to the public. === Philip Weiss's Bohemian Revelation (08:43) === [00:18:39] And this guy, Philip Weiss, it's a long read, but I recommend everybody reading his article here about his infiltration because it's, first of all, he's a great writer. [00:18:49] Yeah, clearly he's got some chops. [00:18:51] It's pithy. [00:18:52] It's witty, it's really great, and it's a really interesting window into sort of the reality of what the Bohemian Club is more than Alex's satanic nonsense that he spouts. [00:19:02] It's like if Hunter S. Thompson didn't make up what he was talking about. [00:19:05] Right. [00:19:06] So the other problem that Alex Jones has with his movie that he put out, his documentary about breaking into Bohemian Grove, is that... [00:19:19] A couple people have done some really good analysis on it, and one question keeps jumping out, and that is, why do all of the things that seem the craziest about Bohemian Grove, why is none of that on camera? [00:19:34] Why is that just Alex's narration over shots of trees and stuff like that? [00:19:40] He talks about how he sees surveillance equipment everywhere. [00:19:44] But it doesn't show wires going all around the trees. [00:19:47] Doesn't show none of that is on camera. [00:19:49] OK, he talks about seeing all sorts of things and none of it is presented within the documentary. [00:19:53] Further, he says that he gets accosted by sheriffs on his way in to try and break. [00:19:59] It's not on tape. [00:20:01] He just says that it happened. [00:20:03] There's no reason to believe that it actually happened. [00:20:05] When you're making a documentary, you really gotta show and prove what you're doing. [00:20:09] Not Alex's strong suit. [00:20:11] Instead, what they do have is shaky footage of trees when he's allegedly hiking to break into the camp. [00:20:18] He made the Blair Witch Project. [00:20:20] Basically. [00:20:21] It's found footage. [00:20:22] Yeah, exactly. [00:20:23] The other problem is he's walking around in these trees and then it cuts. [00:20:29] And it says half an hour later to try and create the illusion that he hiked around in the woods to find his way in. [00:20:34] He walked so far. [00:20:35] He walked so far. [00:20:52] Basically, what he ended up doing in that alleged half hour is walked about 50 feet. [00:20:58] He made almost, like, the area that he would have to walk to get to where he says he ends up, this parking lot, this parking area where he ends up and gets picked up by a shuttle, is so close to the external road. [00:21:13] There's no way that it would take half an hour. [00:21:15] Jesus. [00:21:16] Even with his bloated, out-of-shape ass. [00:21:19] Right. [00:21:19] There's no way. [00:21:20] It's just literally impossible. [00:21:22] The only explanation... [00:21:23] He got an in. [00:21:24] He got a guest pass. [00:21:25] No. [00:21:26] Oh. [00:21:27] That's possible. [00:21:39] The more likely reality is, if that half hour delay did happen, it's Alex Jones- He took a nap? [00:21:45] It's Alex Jones fucking psyching himself out in the middle of the woods. [00:21:54] The other possibility is he wants to present it as it's super hard to get in, but as Philip Weiss experienced, it's really not all that hard. [00:22:01] You just gotta walk in. [00:22:02] Yeah. [00:22:02] And so I don't think he necessarily had a pass, or someone who was like, you get in, or whatever. [00:22:09] Yeah. [00:22:09] I think that the shuttle that shows up doesn't check people's IDs necessarily. [00:22:14] Of course not. [00:22:14] So if you're in the Bohemian Grove parking area, which is clearly accessible... [00:22:18] And really, as these Google Maps show, not far from the road. [00:22:22] Right.
