Time Text
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Radio Renaissance.
I'm your host, Jared Taylor with American Renaissance, and today is June 7th, Year of Our Lord 2024, and with me is my co-host, Paul Kersey.
Great to have you back, Mr. Kersey.
Mr. Taylor, I'm coming nice and soft, but it's great to be back.
It's great to hear your voice, and it's great to be joining our illustrious, fantastic audience for this latest edition of Radio Renaissance.
It sure is, and as usual, we will start with comments from listeners, of which we have quite a few.
One writes in to say, I don't mean to come off as pedantic, but in the last AMRAN video, this was a video, a viewer, not a listener, Mr. Taylor mentioned that D-E-I means God in Latin, Dei, when it actually means of God.
God in Latin is Deus, So yes, I guess I need to be corrected here.
As I recall, these are called declensions in Latin, depending on the role that a noun plays in a sentence, you pronounce it differently.
But DEI, I like the idea that would mean God, because it's the God for so many people in America today.
But it means of God, which I think is close enough.
Another listener writes in to say there's a website called US Marshals Most Wanted.
Interesting how they present their most wanted.
When I start to scroll, the first row of fugitives is 100% white people.
It's only when I scroll further down the list I see that 75% of them are black or Hispanic.
I wonder if this is by design.
Now, I did the obvious bonehead thing, Mr. Kersey, and I checked if it were in alphabetical order, but it's not.
So, it does raise the question, why do they headline with white people?
Another comment.
Now, Mr. Kersey, you and I have talked about U visas before.
This is that special get out of free card for immigrants who've been victims of a crime.
It's virtually an instant green card.
Just add crime.
And a listener writes in to say, I work as an interpreter of Spanish in the local courts.
An illegal immigrant who recently arrived from El Salvador Was a victim of domestic violence.
The perpetrator is her Panama and yet another recent arrival.
A recent arrival.
Yes, I think that's a euphemism for not here legally.
She is now entitled to a U visa as the victim of a crime.
One of the most astounding things is she knew exactly what a U visa was when it was offered to her.
This is a woman who doesn't even understand.
Hello, how are you in English?
But you, Visa?
Ooh, she knew exactly what that meant.
These invaders know more about our immigration system than average Americans.
I bet they do.
If I could jump in, I think the word you just used is the apropos word, invader.
Yes.
A way to describe everything that's happened since Mr. Biden, and even before Biden, everything that we've endured for so many decades.
It's an undeclared invasion, and we'll call it that.
I think more and more people are beginning to know that that's exactly what this is and that our federal government and that the Democrats and a lot of Republicans are okay with it.
That is what the listener said.
That was not my comment.
She said these invaders know more about our immigration system and laws than we do.
How true.
And now here is a listener who gets SPLC notices.
And they appear to be very edifying.
Listen to this.
In its latest report, The Year in Hate and Extremism, they say this shows a spike in hate and extremist groups.
Out of 1,430 active hate and anti-government groups tracking in 2023, up from 1,225 in 2022,
a record-breaking 166 were white nationalist groups. And SBLC goes on to say,
our call to action is urgent.
We must be prepared to counter their threats that attempt to both undermine our democracy and erase people of color.
But we can carry out our mission only when we work together, joined by dedicated people like you who believe in the future, free of hate.
Please help us root out white supremacy by making a special gift today.
Well, Our listener writes in and adds his commentary to this just hair-raising solicitation.
And he writes, the billions of dollars they've raised over the years have failed to stem the rising tide of hate.
But with your generous contribution, they may be able to turn things around.
And Mr. Kersey, I just checked last year's financials.
Last year, it raised $170 million on top of the three quarters of a billion that it already had in the bank.
And the listener says, as with the ADL, one has to wonder why leftists fall for these appeals, because every year ADL and SPLC announce that anti-Semitism, white racism, right-wing extremism have alarmingly increased over the previous year.
35% one year, 48% the next, 40% the year after.
If I kept track of these frightening developments since the 1960s, I suspect I could calculate just how much all this horror has risen.
They must be up by thousands of a percent by now.
And he finishes, which leads me to conclude that the ADL and SPLC are not good investments.
Yeah, give them billions.
And gosh, the problems just get worse.
Or the supply doesn't meet the demand.
These numbers are actually probably incalculable and it's as if you give a child a calculator and they just start punching numbers and whatever they come up with, hey, that's what the number is.
Now, this is an announcement rather than a listener comment.
And it has to do with the availability of an audiobook, the audiobook version of White Identity.
Your servant is the author. Lauded and hosannaed by leaders of our movement,
I can honestly claim it's one of the best books I ever wrote. And as a matter of fact, it's voiced.
The audio version is voiced by a professional voiceman who makes me sound like my name should be Lord Taylor rather than just Jared Taylor.
It's a very fine sounding voice.
I wish I had one like that myself.
Now, you sent a message, listener, to amranaudio at gmail.com.
amranaudio at gmail.com.
And you'll get a link to the audio intro of the book absolutely free.
And if you like that, you can write back to amrenaudio at gmail.com.
A-M-R-E-N audio at gmail.com and you'll get a PayPal mail address and you can send payment and get a download for the book.
And the promotional rollout price is $14.99 with a view to setting the price at $19.99 in a few weeks.
So if you move quickly, you can save five real American dollars.
So once again, That is my latest book, White Identity, and you just sent a regular email message to amrenaudio at gmail.com.
Now I have another announcement to make, and that is registration for the conference this November is going up on the website.
That's at amren.com.
And I won't go through the list of speakers.
Maybe we'll talk about the speakers next time, Mr. Percy, after you've had a chance to scan the speaker list.
There'll be some really exciting people.
But please take a look at the website and register.
Be there or be square, as all of my hip friends like to say.
And I hope to see many of you, many of you, in November.
17th, right after the election, and boy, will we have a lot to talk about.
And so, as we do at the end of our listener comments, I'd like to let you know how to
get in touch with us.
You can write to me at emrin.com and click on the Contact Us tab.
We love to hear your comments, your corrections.
Not a single correction do I consider pedantic, as this fellow who said that Dei rather than Deus corrected me.
A legitimate correction.
I'd forgotten all about declensions in Latin.
I'd love to hear corrections.
Comment on what we have to say, call our attention to stories, and you can reach me at amran.com at the Contact Us page, or All you have to do is go to whichever email provider you use and send a message to BecauseWeLiveHere at ProtonMail.com.
Once again, that email address is BecauseWeLiveHere at ProtonMail.com.
And if you've tried to send me some messages, I apologize.
My mailbox was full.
It's been cleaned and cleared, so if you resend any messages you may have sent over the past couple weeks, and you got an error that it didn't get sent,
please go ahead and resend those.
I look forward to catching up with each and every one of you
as we kickstart what's going to be a great summer.
A lot of positive stuff happening, a lot of interesting stuff happening, Mr. Taylor.
And we appreciate each and every one of our listeners, as we always like to reiterate.
Indeed, the decks are cleared for action.
Now, this is one of these gruesome stories that I convey to our listeners with a heavy heart.
It comes from North Olmstead, Ohio.
Bianca Ellis, age 32, of Cleveland, dressed all in black, went to a thrift shop of Volunteers of America and acquired a kitchen knife we suspect she did not pay for.
Then she walked to the Giant Eagle supermarket Just a few blocks away, and she spotted Margot and Julian Wood.
This was a mother and child inside the store who were shopping.
There was no interaction between them, not one word exchanged.
Video shows that they just walked by each other, and African-Americaness Ellis turned around and looked at the two.
Melanin deprived mother and child followed them out the door and she followed them to the lady's car and she was putting groceries into the car when Ms.
Ellis stabbed three-year-old Julian Wood in the face and back killing him.
She also tried to stab his mama to death.
A 911 caller recorded was recorded as saying someone just stabbed a kid and the lady in the parking lot.
I'm watching her walk away right now.
She's got a knife in her hand.
She was walking away with a knife in her hand when she was taken into custody, but it reportedly took several officers to arrest her.
At the crime scene, the grocery cart could be seen tipped over, contents strewn all over the lot beside the car.
Ellis is charged with aggravated murder and bond set at $1 million.
I don't think she can probably make that bond, so I doubt that she will be out swinging knives anytime soon.
Police said The investigation into the motive in this attack is still ongoing, but everything learned thus far points that this was a random act of violence.
Purely random, Mr. Kersey.
No guess as to motive.
No, no guess whatsoever.
North Olmstead, the town of North Olmstead, is offering grief counseling to the city workers who responded to the attack.
That's interesting.
I guess they thought a three-year-old child wantonly attacked by knife was a pretty horrifying thing.
So they're getting grief counseling.
How about the country that deserves a little grief counseling, it seems to me?
As it turns out, Ms.
Ellis, African-American is extraordinary, is known to the North Olmstead Police Department for shoplifting, and she got six months probation.
However, she never finished her theft education course.
Now, Mr. Kersey, this is the first I ever heard about a theft education course.
Does that teach you how to slip steaks into your pants?
Is that supposed to talk them out of being shoplifters?
Good grief, what a country.
I've never heard, it's funny, I wonder if theft education courses somehow, there's probably
been an article that denounces them for being disproportionately peddled to black, you know,
black, black students.
They have a disparate impact.
They have a disparate impact.
Because driver's ed is supposed to make you a better driver.
I guess theft ed, you know, makes you a better shoplifter.
In any case, she has no history of mental health problems, but I bet you any amount of money that will not stop people from explaining that, oh, oh, oh, she was just mentally crazed.
She's a cuckoo lady.
Race had nothing to do with it.
That is absolutely my prediction, and I make it with complete confidence.
She was, however, jailed for a month in Florida for trespass.
She's got traffic violations.
The press are unable to contact any of her relatives to find out why she might have attacked these two white people.
God, what a gruesome... Anyway, and I have another horrible story.
Another horrible story.
And then, Mr. Kersey, I'm going to ask you about basketball, about which I'm an ignoramus.
The story is from Chicago.
A couple was attacked after going on a date in the Streeterville neighborhood Friday night.
Husband and wife just walking down the streets when they're surrounded by an unknown number of teens.
Race unspecified, but we can guess.
The woman, whose name is Nina, said they kicked her, stomped her, punched her over and over.
She was two weeks pregnant and she lost the baby.
We believe in faith, and it wasn't meant to be, she said, speaking of the baby.
We don't know why this happened to us.
Well, the Lord moves in mysterious ways, no doubt about it.
She lost a chunk of her hair.
You know, these attackers, these youth, race unspecified, just love to drag women around by the hair.
And that seems to be one of their specialties.
She said her husband was also viciously attacked, held him down during the assault.
She told the press the teenagers used pepper spray, kicked her in the stomach.
I started screaming.
They sprayed me in the face and in the eyes.
Another person starts stomping all over me.
My husband ran towards me and over 10 people held him back, threw him down and beat him.
They didn't steal a thing.
They were saying, we own the street.
We own the street.
You can't walk around.
I was wearing a nice dress and heels.
I was on a date with my husband.
They dragged me with my dress on the ground and they said, we own the streets.
You can't just walk around prancing in your little dress.
And they were saying things like that that made no sense to me because they don't know me personally.
Lady, they don't have to know you personally.
You're white.
You're in high heels.
You're wearing a pretty dress.
That's all it takes.
As it turns out, they've arrested two people, a 14-year-old male offender, race unspecified, a 17-year-old female offender, race unspecified, taken into custody, each charged with one count of misdemeanor battery.
When, when is any politician or public figure in the United States going to say, look, these assaults, these unprovoked assaults are overwhelmingly black-on-white?
What's society supposed to do about it?
At least recognize them for heaven's sake.
This three-year-old kid stabbed to death in a parking lot, just going shopping with his mom.
These two people out on a date, dragged around, beaten.
Boy, oh boy, what a country.
Anyway, Mr. Kersey, I suppose we should move on to a different aspect of race relations in America, namely the WNBA, about which, as I say, I'm an ignoramus and I crave enlightenment.
Well, you told me a long time ago that playing basketball was one of your favorite sports, and I actually am a big fan of basketball, playing the sport as well.
I was actually a very, very good basketball player.
I played AAU basketball and was a varsity player for three years in high school.
Um, so I have followed the sport and I was very interested in, uh, a player named Caitlin Clark, who was, who was the all time leading scorer in women's college basketball.
She's, uh, she's a white female, very attractive.
She's also heterosexual, which is quite rare in basketball, Mr. Taylor.
Um, when the WNBA is according to a published statistic in 2022, It's 30% LGBTQ and it's 81% BIPOC, 70% Black.
Now Caitlin Clarke was the number one draft pick.
She's the leading scorer, as I said, all time in college basketball.
The number two pick was Cameron Brink, also a white female, very attractive as well.
And the reason I bring this up is because apparently the media is trying to meme women's basketball into popularity and this article is taking on a life of its own
because WNBA player Cameron Brink, she spoke out on white privilege in the NBA.
She says okay so this lady was the number two draft pick, also an
outstanding player but also feminine and attractive and white. Do I got that
right? You nailed it to a T. Okay, very good. In a sport where like I said 30%
of the league consider themselves LGBTQ so seeing these very attractive white
females they definitely They are, I don't want to say pariahs, because that's probably the wrong way to describe it, but they stick out like a sore thumb.
And here's the article.
Since Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark joined the WNBA, the conversation about privilege, particularly white privilege, has become the topic of conversation around the league and how it's playing a role in how she is treated.
A lot of people in the media have suggested Clark is being treated harsher than other rookies in the league because of who she is and the color of her skin.
Some people in the media have even labeled it jealousy on the other player's part.
But the elephant in the room continues to be how the WNBA other players, who are mostly black, as I said, 71% of the league is black, are being made to look like villains in the league, which is why a lot of people, particularly black sports commentators.
However, one WNBA player, Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink, again, stop what we're doing here and just take a look at both of these players, the way that they look, and then just look at the typical lineup of the WNBA teams.
Again, I couldn't name a WNBA team until I read this article, but I'm sure maybe there's a small minority of our listeners who maybe pay attention to WNBA, but whatever.
Sparta Brick said, who's also white, as we've noted, seems to understand why people feel the way they do and address the issue on social media.
She wrote this, quote, I could go way deeper into this, but I would just say growing the fan base to support all types of players is important.
I will acknowledge there's a privilege for younger white players of the league.
It's not always true, but there is a privilege that we have inherently that and the privilege of appearing As opposed to these black, I don't know, Tamara Press shot-putter types who are playing basketball these days?
Some of these black WNBA players have more tattoos than their counterparts in the National Basketball Association.
I think Don Imus put it best when he said about the Rutgers basketball team, I'm not going I'm not going to reply.
Oh, dear.
That's years ago.
That's years ago.
I thought you were too young to know that.
Well, maybe, you know, I think we should just go.
I think we should repeat his words.
If you won't, I will.
You know, he was laughing when he said, God, look at these nappy-haired hoes, end quote.
I'm quoting him.
Nappy-headed hoes.
Nappy-headed hoes.
That was a kind of a ring to it.
Yeah, it has a very nice ring to it, and I think it accurately describes the majority of the WNBA players.
He probably could have gone a little bit further, nappy-headed lesbian hoes, but again, that quote is actually hilarious, what she said there.
Appearing feminine.
She's done a lot of swimsuit posts, Mr. Taylor, and she's gorgeous.
She's right.
That's that's attendance has always been preposterously low for a league that it gets so much airtime.
And it's because she's a beautiful white female.
I'm going to continue to quote from her.
And again, if I laugh, I'm not sorry, but I mean, I might laugh a little bit because this quote's hilarious.
Quote, some of my teammates are more masculine.
Some of my teammates go by they them pronouns.
I want to bring more acceptance to that and not just have people support us because of the way that we look.
I know I can feed into that because I like to dress femininely, but that's just me.
I want everyone to be accepted, not just paid attention to because of how they look."
That statement is important as Brink understands that she knows she and players who look like her do have an advantage at times over black players, but it is also important that she uses her platform to address those issues and speak out.
Again, by speaking out she's Unavoidably, maybe absentmindedly noting the physical differences from a physiologically perspective and noting that, wow, you know what, just imagine if the WNBA had a majority of players who looked like Caitlin Clark or who looked like Cameron Brink.
I would argue that the popularity would be massive because people, you know, they don't want to see what looks like prison yard basketball being played on the WNBA.
You mean like beach volleyball, for example?
Volleyball's a lot of fun to watch, Mr. Taylor, and I can tell you one thing, there's not a lot of nappy-haired hoes playing beach volleyball.
That's true, that's true.
Well, for heaven's sake, no.
I have heard in a roundabout way, as I say, because I'm kind of tuned out to professional sports, but that these, at least this Caitlyn girl, has been knocked around on the court by these envious and unhappy and jealous players.
Sir, Mr. Taylor, there was a brutal assault on her by one of the, and apparently the league is known for being very physical.
That might be the fact that it's percent LGBTQ.
Quick little anecdote when pistol Pete Marovic came into the NBA.
I'm not sure if you remember that name He was the all-time leading scorer at LSU.
Maybe the late 60s early 70s He was this phenomenal white player who they didn't even at that point when he was playing They didn't have the three-point line and he was averaging, you know high 30s low 40s and in college when he went to the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and He, uh, he was targeted as well because he was playing in a predominantly black league and he actually, uh, in his, but in a biography, he came out and said, you know, you, he used a very pejorative word to describe his teammates.
You won't pass me the ball.
You don't want me to succeed.
F you guys.
And he had a lot of racial resentment throughout his career because he felt that because of the color of his skin, he was unfairly targeted for, uh, for, What amounts to assault in the street, on the court?
And that's what happened to Caitlin Clark.
And I'm going to go on record and say, I think we're going to see more of that for white players, because the black players of the WNBA, I think they see the league as theirs.
It's something that they've, it's their right.
And these white girls, these feminine white girls are infringing on their Well, I just hope to heck that they are tough, as well as feminine, and that they don't crumple under this.
That they see it for what it is, and they really play a strong game.
And if they get pushed, I hope they push right back.
But we'll see what happens.
In any case, well this reminds me of something else then.
I don't know if you follow the National American Miss Contest.
But the Alabama National American Miss is a plus-sized model, Sarah Milligan, 23.
She was crowned Miss Alabama just over Memorial Day weekend.
Now, this isn't exactly the Miss America beauty contest, but the contestants prance around in ballgowns, the winner wears a sash and a crown, because the contestants are usually very pretty.
Well, she was overjoyed, but her happiness was short-lived as trolls began taunting the winner about her appearance.
Well, yeah, she must weigh at least 300 pounds, and she wouldn't be pretty even if she were slim.
She was met with a barrage of hate online, with people branding her as an unhealthy embarrassment and questioning, is that considered attractive in Alabama?
Well, no, it's not, ladies and gentlemen.
She's actually competed for the crown twice before, and she scooped the win on her third try.
Now, the pageant apparently is based, the scoring is based on personality, confidence and communication.
And the website says braces, glasses, skin problems, varying heights, weights, appearances are all part of creating the special and unique individual that you are and we want to celebrate.
So I guess it was just a matter of time before a female sumo player won the prize.
And on her pageant planet profile, she says that she'd wanted to be the very first plus-size
Miss Alabama to show other women they can do anything they put their mind to.
She says, I will shatter glass ceilings and create a path for other women to chase their
dreams.
Well, she attended Reed State Technical College, where she completed a cosmetology course and
is now a professional makeup artist.
So that suggests that she has some notion, some glimmering of the fact that appearance might matter, especially for the ladies.
But she says she's shocked by the hateful response, but has since received an influx of support across the world, gaining 2,500 followers across Instagram and Facebook.
And she says, no matter what your body looks like, no matter where you come from, you can do anything you set your mind to.
Well, that's just not true.
She will never be an acrobat or a pole vaulter.
I don't know.
These days, maybe a pole dancer.
But there's some things you simply cannot do, depending on how you're built.
None of this is not.
You can do anything.
All of this foolishness.
She's determined not to let the harsh criticism hold her back as she prepares for the national final, which will be in Florida over Thanksgiving.
Well, you know, Mr. Kersey, I was thinking about this, and in a way, this helps destroy the credibility of our rooters.
This runs counter to every normal human instinct to say that this really obese, spherical human is attractive.
This is just insanity on stilts.
And it's as if the people around the country are deliberately trying to undercut their own credibility, crowning somebody like that.
I mean, ordinary people are going to see something like this, and they're going to think, If these people are so wrong about that, what can they possibly be right about?
Have you seen this lady, this photograph of her?
No, but I can only imagine based on the adjective you used, separable.
She's not worth looking at, so I'm going to go fast on that and take a look at... Well, yes, she'd probably be much easier on the eyes.
Anyway, let's see.
What have we got here?
Well, Ibram Kendi, one of my favorite melanin-enhanced American MacArthur Scholarship Genius Award winners.
Ibram Kendi is back in the news.
Last September, his Center for Antiracist Research laid off most of its staff, and someone named Yannick Redwood, spelled Y-A-N-I-Q-U-E, and yes, she's melanin-enhanced, she was the center's executive director for almost a year.
And when she was hired she could tell the center was dying.
She says, there was significant turnover before my arrival.
There was email from a disgruntled professor after I interviewed for the job warning me about an unsafe work environment.
And I reached out to an outgoing senior level black woman at the center who curtly refused my request to talk.
That's always a bad sign, huh?
Former employees wouldn't even talk about the place?
She says, Founders were antsy about productivity.
I sensed anxiety, stress, anger, and fear.
Well, there have been critics of Kendi right from the start, along with Robin DiAngelo.
She is the writer of the best-selling White Fragility.
Angelo and Kendi became leading gurus in a new kind of self-help approach to racism.
But critics said by focusing so much on personal growth, they made it easy for self-help to take the place of organizing.
Yes, navel-gazing rather than marching in the streets and shouting Black Lives Matter.
Many felt that Kendi and D'Angelo were merely helping white people alleviate their guilt.
Of course, they were promoting it.
They're promoting it to the skies.
And there's always a payoff for blacks if white people feel guilty.
Critics also questioned Kennedy's determination to turn his philosophy, I think that's using the word loosely, into a brand.
Following the success of How to Be an Antiracist, he released a deck of antiracist conversation starter cards.
This is the first I heard about that.
I think I'll buy a deck.
I thought, I guess you go up to a girl in a bar and you just whip out one of these cards, you know?
And you think that'd be a nice way to meet a girl in a bar?
Yeah.
The ace card of that, Mr. Taylor, that deck of ignominious cards is, hey, how much do you hate white people?
That's a heck of a pick-up line.
Yeah, yeah, that's a great pick-up line.
Anti-racist conversation starter cards.
You know, I'm gonna order a deck, because I've never heard of that.
Also, he had an anti-racist journal with prompts for self-reflection, so you can buy an Ibram Kendi calendar, and every morning you wake up and it gives you advice on how to fight racism in your very own soul.
And he also had a children's book.
If I could, I hate to interject, but I almost feel we should do a special podcast where we go over some of those cards and then we give our answers.
Uh, you know, I can, I can, I can, you know, I think it'd be fun.
You've never seen the deck.
I whip out a card and I have a conversation, anti-racist conversation starter.
And how would you reply?
That'd be fun.
In any case, she also wrote a children's book, anti-racist baby.
Yes, he's turned into a brand and boy, has he been minting money.
But his anti-racist center had staff, $50 million, but no real plan.
An anonymous employee told a university compliance officer that Kendi ran the center with hyper-control and created an environment of silence and secrecy that was causing low morale.
And this anonymous employee said, when Dr. Kendi is questioned, the narrative becomes that the employee must be the problem.
The employee warned the university the situation will blow up.
Well, it did blow up.
Well, Kendi blew it up when he realized he was going to run out of money before any of his projects were completed.
Now, this is what is particularly amusing.
Kendi sees himself as a victim of woke employees, and this is a pattern that plays out in many progressive advocacy groups.
They are being eaten alive from within by young leftist employees who are more interested in bringing social injustice to the workplace than focusing on the goals of the organization.
Employees complained he was a control freak, but from his perspective, some people just didn't like being told what to do because they knew better.
Oh boy, as if Kendi hasn't spent his life knowing better.
Well, he found people who knew even better.
I've never been on a staff retreat, Mr. Kersey.
My staff has never felt a need to retreat.
We always advance.
None of this retreat nonsense.
In any case, Kendi presented a paper describing his outlook on what the center should do.
One staff member named Saida Grundy tore into it in front of everyone.
She said, this is a mild wide and an inch deep She said the center needed to be more specific.
Fighting racism was such a broad mission that it felt cynically strategic, allowing the center to take in money for anything.
She said, if there is a grant for anti-racism on Jupiter, she said, we do extraterrestrial anti-racism.
That's a good point.
You know, there's racism everywhere.
You know, if bird watches are all white, that's all on account of racism.
If the astrophysicists are all white, that's all pure racism.
Why not racism on Jupiter?
There's racism everywhere.
But Grundy, unlike most of the staff, thought the center should be a resource for university faculty members and students.
Her parents were black student activists in the 1970s, and she said the real change starts there.
And she complained if you lined up 99 black students at Boston University, 99 will tell you the center has made no difference to their experience.
I bet you could line up a million black people.
They'd all say the same thing.
Well, according to this account, when she finished speaking, the room was silent and several people were crying.
I guess somebody had just lit into the guru and Kendi, his face inscrutable behind a COVID mask, said nothing.
And the facilitator wrapped up the session.
I wonder why they needed a facilitator.
I've never been a facilitator.
I don't think I've ever been around a facilitator.
But apparently Kendi can't run his own meetings.
A facilitator was there.
Well, Kendi doesn't say his problem is woke employees.
He calls them performative radicals.
Of the sort who's been, in his words, causing all kinds of havoc in black-led social justice organizations for years.
I guess he never puts on a performance.
It's as if the campus radicals who've read his books and pitched tents and made demands and silenced their opponents in the name of equity finally arrived at his door and decided, and he decided, they're a bunch of self-righteous jerks.
Oh boy, the biter bit, as they say.
Well, the fact is, You know, there's nothing to study if your institute is devoted to systemic racism.
This is a figment of their sick imaginations.
But all they ever do is study differences, race differences, poverty rates, incarceration rates, chlamydia rates, arrest for drunk driving rates, drowning rates.
That's all they ever do.
And they say it's all racism.
So I guess this lady, this one who cut into poor old Kendi, was asking, what do you do about it?
Anyway, you know, I'm going to I'm going to quote one of my favorite lines of yours, Mr. Kersey.
When aspiring rappers become expiring rappers.
I think that is one of your cleverer lines and I steal it unashamedly.
Sometimes I attribute it to you and sometimes I don't.
In any case.
Before you do.
Yes.
There was a line in that last story you just told that I'm still trying to wrap my head around.
You said intergalactic racism?
What is extraterrestrial racism?
Even on uninhabited planets, whiteness prevails.
Well, that's the point that this critic was making.
She says, okay, if there is a grant for anti-racism on Jupiter, great!
We'll take it and we'll do extraterrestrial anti-racism.
I think that's a great point.
Kudos to her because that is the kind of stuff that they do.
Oh, we found racism.
We found racism in the ozone.
We found racism in the sewers.
They're going to fight it wherever it is.
On the, what is it?
What is it?
Churchill said, we will fight it on the beaches.
We'll fight it on the air.
We'll fight it on the land.
Oh boy.
Anyway.
Yep, I think that's a great point.
Racism on Jupiter.
We'll fight it there, too.
I'm sure if they start walking around on the moon again, which is the plan, they'll find white supremacy there.
They'll fight it all sorts of places.
Oh, they fought it in the 60s, Mr. Taylor, when Whitey went to the moon.
That's right.
That's right.
There was not a single person of color.
Good grief.
White people in high places, isn't that the definition of white supremacy?
Anyway, aspiring rapper expiring, even in Sweden, Mr. Kersey.
As it turns out, award-winning masked rapper C Gambino has been shot dead in a car park ambush in Sweden.
The 26-year-old was one of Sweden's biggest rap stars and was named Rapper of the Year just last month.
The artist parked his car in a garage.
I love it when these people are called artists.
The artist parked his car in a garage at Gothenburg when several attackers were lying in wait and they riddled his body with bullets.
He had a million monthly listeners on Spotify and had just released a new single.
And his death comes just a few years after the shooting of another high-profile Swedish rapper in a gang-related death.
Niels Grönberg, who went by the name Einar, was just 19 years old when he was killed, execution style, 2021.
Now, Sweden has been struggling to contain gang violence in recent years.
Gosh, you know, it just came right out of the fjords.
You know, they'd never had it before.
It just dropped out of the sky.
Maybe those Jupiterian racists came down to earth with it.
Shootings, bombings, or weekly occurrences The gang violence is originally to control over drugs, but has increasingly spread to rivalries and personal vendettas.
Now, here's what I think will surprise you, although nothing seems to surprise you, even if it surprises me.
Both of these expired rappers were white.
C Gambino and Aynar, these are both white guys.
And it made me curious to see what their rapping is like, and it also made me curious to know Who killed them?
Was it yet more jealous white rappers?
I mean, we see black rappers.
I've often said that's the most dangerous profession here in the United States is being a being a rapper.
But that's all just sort of deeply, deeply embedded in black society and the violence and the craziness.
But here you're a rapper in Sweden and you get shot down execution style, turned into Swiss cheese by multiple assailants blazing away at you.
That's a curious phenomenon to me.
Any ideas about that?
Totally care.
It's about my interest level for the WNBA.
Okay, well, that's probably the best attitude to take, but I just wonder why even white rappers in what used to be a white country, they have short and sticky lives.
Anyway, they all regressed to what I call the Negro mean, and if you've ever seen white people who have capitulated to black culture, it's one of the saddest things ever, and it reminds me of that great scene from The Searchers When John Wayne, they go to one of the U.S.
cavalry encampments and they're trying to find the girl who was, Natalie Wood's character, who was abducted by Indians and John Wayne's character, Ethan.
He sees a bunch of white girls and he looks at them dismissively because they've been tortured and raped and just vilified by the Amerindian tribe.
You know, various tribes who, you know, captured him, kidnapped him.
And he looks at them and just dismissively says, they ain't white.
And that's the way I look at any white guy who ascribes to black culture.
Well, the thing is, the thing is, those people are not kidnapped and raped and beaten.
They just do it.
They do it because they're attracted to it.
Now, I agree.
It is a pathetic sight.
These kids with their baseball caps on backwards and trying to walk like they're mesomorphic Negroes.
It's just the stupidest thing.
But anyway, Mr. Kersey.
There's more science, more science on the loose, and apparently, you're going to tell us all about it, blacks are more likely to find lies online.
Yeah, you know, this was, again, I love finding stories like this, and the headline was Black Americans disproportionately encounter lies online.
This is from The Guardian.
As U.S.
presidential elections approach, the vast majority of Americans are concerned about online misinformation and fear they don't have enough accurate information on candidates, especially local ones, a new poll has shown.
Well, people across the political and racial spectrum reported being very concerned about the deliberate spread of online misinformation.
The study found Blacks are disproportionately encountering misinformation and seeking accurate news.
This was released by the watchdog group Free Press.
About half of respondents encounter misinformation.
Not only 28% of Americans feel very informed about local elections.
Microtargeting based on race and other demographics can disproportionately affect people of color, Benavidez said, the senior counsel of Free Press, Black Americans said they were much more likely to encounter harassment online than other demographics.
I bet by each other, frankly, but anyway.
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
You know, you have beef on the streets and you have beef on the Internet.
It just never stops.
It just follows Blacks everywhere they go.
Quote, as we look toward the 2024 elections, we're starting to see that voters of color may in fact Be targeted with disinformation in ways that would sway their attitudes or seek to divide them and dissuade them from being part of the democratic process.
The study showed Hispanic and Black Americans are more likely to be frequent users of social media platforms for news, with 63% of Black adults and 65% of Hispanic adults getting news from Facebook, compared with only 56% of whites.
About 65% of Black adults and 67% of Latino adults get news from YouTube compared with 51% of white adults and 54%... Go ahead.
Stop right there.
How do you get news from YouTube?
Are there YouTube news channels on YouTube?
YouTube is the last place I'd go.
Of course, I wouldn't get news from any of these places, but surely getting news from these weird, offbeat, non-news organizations, people put stuff all on their own.
I would imagine you just get more nonsense and craziness.
But YouTube?
How do you get news from YouTube?
There are a lot of good podcasts that I actually follow that are published and uploaded immediately to YouTube.
I mean, gosh, Mr. Taylor.
Let's not forget that we had over 30,000 subscribers to our podcast channel, which I would argue was nothing more than news dissemination.
Well, but I mean, I just don't think of that as a real source.
I mean, that might be a source of commentary.
It might be a source of opinion, but news itself, hard breaking news.
Well, I guess I'm just an old fogey.
I would never go to YouTube for news.
Yeah, there are a lot of people, you know, BET, there are a lot of these black websites that have massive corporate sponsorship and funding that do do news and they do publish on YouTube.
And I'm sure they're probably talking about some of their favorite black celebrities or in BIPOCs who might pontificate.
Well, but if they're going to these black YouTube sites and they claim, or somebody claims, they're getting fed a line of jive, that's certainly not our fault, which is what this article seems to imply.
But anyway, as usual, I horned in, so please continue.
A line of jive.
I like that.
That's a good line.
And then finally, 54% of black and Latino adults get their news from Instagram.
Only 35% of white adults do.
Not exactly a big fan of Instagram, but whatever.
If that's where people want to go to get their news, sure.
Again, this is a study that just came out, and we get this final quote, which I'll read.
The survey has made clear that we're still in the wild west of fact-checking, with the large majority of Americans taking it upon themselves to verify information they read or hear, Henry Fernandez, the CEO of the African American Research Collaborative, said.
This indicates that there's a definitive role for media and advocates to ensure that news and information better serves the needs of a diverse, multiracial democracy.
What he means by that, of course, Mr. Taylor, is news that is vetted and anything that is not vetted just needs to be called disinformation or, as President Trump once said, fake news.
It's fake news.
You can't, if it's not coming from us, you can't trust it.
And if it's coming from people like us, it needs to be immediately dismissed.
I think that's what they're trying to say, Mr. Taylor.
Well, the very idea that a certain race of people is more likely to find lies on the internet.
I mean, if that's the case, it seems to me that's their problem.
They are falling for them.
How many people are consciously targeting blacks or Hispanics with falsehoods and somehow beaming them to them knowing that they're black or Hispanic?
That just seems preposterous to me, but then again, I'm not as sophisticated about these things as others.
If they say they're being fed lies, I guess they're being fed lies.
Pooey.
Let's see.
Now here is a gruesome story.
Another gruesome story.
This is, in some ways, maybe even more gruesome than the one about the poor three-year-old boy who got stabbed to death.
And it has to do with two Nigerian brothers who pleaded guilty on conspiring sexually to exploit teenage boys in the United States through sexual extortion or sextortion.
This is two years after one such scheme led to a Michigan teenager's suicide.
Jordan DeMay was 17 years old.
Judging from his photographs, he looked like an all-American white guy.
He was 17 when Samuel Ogoshi, age 22, and his brother Samson Ogoshi, These are biblical characters, Samuel and Samson.
Age 20, both of Nigeria, pretended to be a woman on Instagram using a hacked account
and struck up a conversation with the white boy.
That same night, the Ogujis started communicating with him.
The teenager sent an explicit photo of himself.
What a stupid guy.
Explicit, I suppose that means, well, I guess we can imagine what that means.
Samuel Ogoshi then threatened to expose it and make it go viral if Jordan did not immediately send money.
Jordan complied and sent money, but the crime only escalated, and Ogoshi demanded more and more and more.
This went on for hours in a single night until Jordan told Ogoshi he felt like killing himself.
Good, wrote Ogoshi.
Do that, quick, or I'll make you do it.
I swear to God.
Well, he did kill himself.
Well, believe it or not, the Ogoshi brothers have been extradited to the United States.
I'm astonished that actually happened.
And they now face a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 for conspiracy sexually to exploit minors.
An indictment against the two brothers says they were involved in hundreds of similar schemes, many involving minors.
There was a third suspect charged in connection with this.
He's awaiting extradition.
The FBI has received more than 13,000 reports of online financial sextortion between October 21 and March 23.
So who knows how many there have been in the years since then.
The average age of victims is between 14 and 17.
Most are boys.
Isn't that a surprise?
Offenders are typically from Africa and Southeast Asia.
And as it turns out, there is a new Instagram feature called Nudity Protection that will be turned on by default for users under 18.
They will see a message encouraging them to reconsider when they try to send what the system detects as a nude photograph.
So listen up, all you boys out there.
The male mammal will do crazy things in hopes of attracting the female mammal.
But never forget, behind that attractive photo on your screen could be an ugly Nigerian man.
And never forget, a digital photo could end up anywhere and everywhere. This again is just such a disgusting,
disgusting story and it just goes to show you how difficult it is to grow up in the age of the
Internet. So I almost apologize for having to for mentioning this story, but it's something
people have to watch out for.
Absolutely watch out for. So Mr. Kersey, let's move on to another sports story and tell me
about the Negro League. Yeah, Mr. Taylor, I want to preface the story by saying that
I believe that you made a point as saying that the New Century Foundation never has
retreats with the staff.
I believe that from an advancement standpoint, one of the most important things to do would be to put together a book that catalogs everything that the racial reckoning that took place post-George Floyd, be cataloged into a book to show, and we would call it, What We Lost, America After George Floyd.
And I think that would take five volumes.
Well, and this is one of the stories that I didn't even really know was going on.
You know, Major League Baseball at the end of 2020 basically came out and said, we're going to atone for our racist past, and we're going to consider, we're going to put together a exploratory group that's going to consider having the Negro League statistics put into the Major League Baseball statistics.
And those stats were notoriously Misrepresented very very few actually were cataloged and kept up-to-date records a lot of it is hyperbole.
Well, guess what?
last week they decided to do it and This kind of goes into my concept of black run America where anything that doesn't benefit blacks is somehow illegitimate and to have all these statistics where white guys are at the top of a lot of these all-time leading stats that's somehow inherently racist. So, well, Major League
Baseball has now integrated Negro League stats into the all-time record book, and now
Josh Gibson, a black individual who never played in any with white athletes, he's now the career batting
average leader. So...
Okay, so let me get this right.
If somebody in the Negro League had a better batting average or hit more home runs than the famous people in the White League, then now they're considered on equal par and they are superior to the people who played in the major leagues.
Exactly.
And again, like I said, they never participated in baseball.
Every year, we've talked before about how The corporate news decries the paucity of black Americans who are in Major League Baseball.
And again, now we now we can look to all the records and basically say, well, guess what?
All these black guys that never played an inning in Major League Baseball who were on these, you know, very poorly tracked from a statistical standpoint, because, again, Mr. Taylor, from a from a sports standpoint, statistics are all that matter in baseball.
You want to know what your batting average is.
You know, keeping track of RBI is keeping track of on base percentage.
Everything is my newly consumed and put into a an algorithm to come out with who are the
best players.
And now if you look at it, it's all these Negro League players.
So meaning legendary.
So basically what this means is that all these legendary leaders in categories like Babe
Ruth and my favorite baseball player of all time, Ty Cobb, have now been replaced in the
of record books by players who are not allowed to play on the same fields as them during segregation.
Josh Gibson, one of the greatest sluggers in the history of the Negro Leagues, Mr. Taylor, is now listed as Major League Baseball's New all-time career leader in batting average at .372, moving ahead of Ty Cobb, who hit, in his entire career, a mean of .367.
The MLB website shows Gibson also overtaking Babe Ruth in career slugging percentage.
Quote, We're proud that the official historical record now includes the players in the Negro Leagues.
This initiative is focused on ensuring that future generations of fans have access to the stats and milestones Of all those who made the Negro Leagues possible, said MLB Commissioner Rob Manford in a statement, their accomplishments on the field will be a gateway to broader learning about this triumph in American history and the path that led Jackie Robinson's 1947 Dodger debut when the color line was broken in MLB.
Gibson was inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972.
His great grandson told CNN this, we're excited.
This is a long time coming, not just for Josh Gibson, but all the other great Negro League
family members as well.
Yep, Mr. Taylor, they get to supplant all these white guys who had the advantage of
being in an all-white MLB and never had to face black pitchers.
They never had to go against black players.
So somehow those are illegitimate.
So these guys who never really played, never ever played in the major leagues, they played
in a separate league entirely against what probably every historian of the sport would
have to concede are inferior players.
If they did better in the Negro League than Babe Ruth did in the Major League, then they are now considered better players and they go to the top of the scorecard for Major League Baseball?
Again, it's one of the most astonishing things ever, and it's why I say, you know, what we lost.
You know, America, you know, just the categorical changes in American life, it's really hard to quantify.
Let me ask you this.
Are there any white players or coaches or commentators, even retired, who are prepared to stand up and say, This is insanity cubed.
Is anybody willing to do that?
Or is everybody saying, oh, no, this is all overdue?
There was a columnist, Mr. Taylor, just to seal your thunder, who came out very vociferously in the USA Today.
It was a great columnist.
I forgot the gentleman's name, but he pointed out, how can you combine these stats?
It's like taking the CFL stats, the Canadian Football League, and merging them with the NFL by saying, oh, you know, Oh gosh, historically black quarterbacks were discriminated against.
Let's go ahead and have Warren Moon, a black quarterback who excelled in the CFL.
Let's merge these stats so that all of a sudden I have these numbers.
And again, one of the most important things is these statistics from these games.
They played so many games that were exhibitions.
They played so many games that were just so poorly recorded.
Having a young son who plays baseball, even in little leagues, even in something as t-ball and coach pitch, Mr. Taylor, you're keeping track of, on your iPad now at this point, you're keeping track of stats for these kids to figure out who's actually doing the best.
And it's preposterous that this would have happened, because again, this is really fascinating.
The power hitting Josh Gibson, one of the 35 Negro League players enshrined in Cooperstown, that's the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.
Says he almost hit 800 home runs in league and independent baseball during his 17-year career.
However, the majority of those homers came not in league sanctioned games, about 50 to 75 per season, but in exhibitions played against former big leaguers and white semi-pro teams.
Again, this is a grandiose... Wait, wait, wait.
That makes it sound as though he did play against white players.
Well, white semi-pro teams.
Oh, I see.
Minor league teams.
Yeah, exactly.
So again, this is just one of those moments that I think diminishes everything that happened.
In a lot of ways, it diminishes what happened in the Negro Leagues.
Because again, the Negro League, if you want to talk about something that stands on its own, they developed their own league.
And apparently, you know, black players thrived in it.
Yeah, you know what, they didn't get to play against white players.
But I mean, at that point in professional sports, Mr. Taylor's salaries weren't that great.
Most of these guys had to have jobs after they got done playing.
It wasn't as glamorous as it is now, where some of these players are making $100 million per season.
That's not a misnomer.
More than 2,300 Negro League players from 1920 to 1948 were added to the MLB database as more stats are still being discovered, Mr. Taylor.
I think that's the most important thing, that all of a sudden it's like, let's try and find as much as we can so we can displace all these white players from whiteness.
Okay.
Well, boy, these are strange times.
Well, I thought That what I described was so preposterous it could not be true, but I guess it is true.
And as I believe I've confessed more than once on this podcast, every year I make a New Year's resolution not to be astonished by the stupidity of white people.
And every year I break that resolution, usually in the month of January.
Well, Mr. Kersey, our time has flown by.
It has flown by.
And I believe we have to say goodbye to our listeners, and I would like to thank you all.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, wherever you are, it's always a pleasure.
It's always an honor to spend this time with you.
We look forward to hearing from you, and it will be our pleasure to spend this time with you again next week.
