Radio Renaissance - Jared Taylor - Twitter Hates Free Speech, Not Elon Musk Aired: 2022-04-28 Duration: 09:00 === Elon Musk's Free Speech Challenge (08:55) === [00:00:04] Hello, I'm Jared Taylor with American Horizons. [00:00:07] The internet, at least most of it, is trying very hard to make my videos impossible to find. [00:00:12] So if you like what you see, I hope you will send the link to a lot of your friends. [00:00:16] Elon Musk has bought Twitter, and lefties are terrified because Mr. Musk calls himself a free-speech absolutist. [00:00:25] Nothing scares the left more than letting everyone talk. [00:00:29] The NAACP Matthew Raza, a prominent writer for Salon and other liberal publications, [00:00:47] says, A weekly columnist for The Guardian, with half a million followers, says, Elon Musk's free speech absolutism is lethal. [00:01:05] On MSNBC, Elon Musk's Twitter purchase has sent shockwaves through much of the anti-disinformation political universe. [00:01:16] People reminded us that Elon Musk was born in South Africa. [00:01:19] BLM star Sean King says it's about white power. [00:01:24] The man was raised in apartheid by a white nationalist. [00:01:29] This black lady, who has written for every big magazine you can think of, called Elon Musk an apartheid houseplant. [00:01:36] And then there is anti-racism swami Tim Wise. [00:01:41] Fuck Elon Musk, apartheid baby. [00:01:44] You, your company, and everyone who stands for you. [00:01:48] We're going to have to deal with Nazis the way our grandparents did because Elon Musk is going to let them say whatever they want in the name of free speech. [00:01:56] Cool. There are other options. [00:01:59] Other options. [00:02:01] You might expect a former Secretary of Labor to be thoughtful, but Robert Reich says banning people is necessary to protect democracy. [00:02:10] He says that with Elon Musk, we would be living a brave new nightmare, dominated by the richest and most powerful people in the world who wouldn't be accountable to anyone. [00:02:22] What? Who does he think is running social media now? [00:02:26] He just wants his billionaires in charge, not Elon Musk. [00:02:31] There is no end to this kind of hysteria. [00:02:34] So here's my last example. [00:02:35] This unknown person wrote that Twitter Inc. [00:02:39] sold out to Twitler. [00:02:41] Heil Twitler! [00:02:42] The graphics are terrible, but the message is clear. [00:02:45] You see, Hitler was a free speech absolutist. [00:02:49] Conservatives, of course, are pleased. [00:02:52] Many people who work for Twitter are not. [00:02:55] And that's no surprise. [00:02:56] As the New York Post reported, Twitter employees give to Democrats by wide margin. [00:03:02] Can you guess the margin? [00:03:04] Last year, 99% of their political contributions went to Democrats. [00:03:09] 99%! [00:03:11] Twitter employs thousands and thousands of censors who control what gets tweeted. [00:03:16] Their boss is an Indian-born lawyer named Vijaya Gade. [00:03:23] Here's a headline from Political about her. [00:03:26] Twitter's top lawyer reassures staff cries during meeting about Musk's takeover. [00:03:32] Well, of course she cried. [00:03:34] That woman, an outright enemy of free speech, had tremendous power. [00:03:40] And now she's probably out of a job. [00:03:42] It was her department that banned the President of the United States to add 88 million followers and that suppressed the 100% authentic story about Hunter Biden's laptop. [00:03:53] Her world has turned upside down. [00:03:56] The people who run social media and the leftists who love them want to control what you read, what you hear, and ultimately what you do. [00:04:05] It's not an exaggeration to say that they want to rule the world. [00:04:09] You probably never heard of a study written in 2018 by Google called The Good Censor. [00:04:16] It was leaked to Breitbart News, so copies online have the Breitbart stamp. [00:04:22] The prestige media ignored it. [00:04:24] The report noted that the pioneers of the Internet thought they were building a utopia in which everyone could speak freely. [00:04:32] The authors reminded us that there was a time... [00:04:35] Around 2012, when Twitter executives called their company the free speech wing of the free speech party. [00:04:43] They were free speech absolutists, until it didn't work out quite the way they wanted. [00:04:48] When all people had a chance to speak, some of them said things the Silicon Valley bosses didn't like. [00:04:56] The solution was not to debate them, but to call them names and shut them up. [00:05:01] As the report noted, The early utopian period of the Internet has collapsed under the weight of bad behavior. [00:05:10] Bad beliefs have been able to flourish on the Internet. [00:05:14] Once-controversial views have been emboldened by like-minded individuals and are making their way offline, both on the streets and at the polls. [00:05:24] What were the awful consequences? [00:05:27] The report mentions the rise of nationalist parties in Britain and Germany, and worst of all, The election of Donald Trump. [00:05:35] That's why we needed the good censor to stop these things from happening. [00:05:40] That's why, as the report says, tech firms have gradually shifted away from unmediated free speech and towards censorship, from an unmediated marketplace of ideas to well-ordered spaces for safety and civility. [00:05:57] Well-ordered means that big tech can gag people it doesn't like. [00:06:02] This Google report wasn't supposed to get outside of the company, and it didn't come from Twitter, but it confirms what we already knew. [00:06:10] These people are convinced they know best, and they are determined to run the world. [00:06:15] Their arrogance and contempt for you are breathtaking. [00:06:18] And of course, in their arrogance, all the big tech companies banned me in American Renaissance. [00:06:24] Twitter won't even let you send a link to the Amran homepage. [00:06:27] And if you send an article... [00:06:29] Anyone who clicks on the link will get this scary message. [00:06:33] I was one of the first Twitter casualties. [00:06:35] My wings were clipped on December 18, 2017, after more than six years of tweeting and 41,000 followers. [00:06:44] This was the last of my 1,679 tweets, noting that Twitter had already stripped me of my blue checkmark and predicting that it may kill me off entirely tomorrow. [00:06:56] Well, it did. [00:06:58] When I appealed the ban, Twitter wrote back to say I was affiliated with a violent extremist group. [00:07:05] The good censor just makes it up as he goes along. [00:07:08] Twitter left me with a strange, abandoned building of an account with vacant graphics, no followers, and no way to tweet. [00:07:16] But since the company is under new management, I sent an official request to get the lights turned back on. [00:07:22] I'm now case number 0253, whatever that number is. [00:07:27] I guess the company has a lot on its hands. [00:07:31] It is so amusing when lefties show their true colors. [00:07:35] For years, they've wanted more censorship. [00:07:38] Always more. [00:07:39] They always got more. [00:07:42] But it's never enough. [00:07:43] And that's why they're howling. [00:07:45] They're not worried because it's Elon Musk. [00:07:48] It could be Oprah Winfrey, for heaven's sake. [00:07:51] The only problem is a buyer who believes in free speech. [00:07:55] The worst things Elon Musk ever said are that Canadian truckers rule and that gender pronouns are silly. [00:08:03] The word racist doesn't appear once in his very long Wikipedia article. [00:08:10] So why are lefties predicting the end of the world? [00:08:12] Because their world could end. [00:08:15] Because their world requires censorship and can't survive free speech. [00:08:21] They saw it during the early years of the Internet. [00:08:25] When we beat the pants off them and they had to ban us to keep from losing. [00:08:30] That's like playing in a tournament only after you have kneecapped all the players who can beat you. [00:08:37] You'd think they'd be ashamed to play so dirty, but this seems to be second nature to them. [00:08:44] Elon Musk is still going to have a fight. [00:08:47] I bet some of his employees will try to sabotage the company, but it will survive, and maybe I'll get my account back. [00:08:54] Twitter will make the world a better place. [00:08:57] One billionaire did it in 2016.
